Australia clinches ASHES title with 3-0

The Kangaroos have once again proved that they are an impossible side to beat on their turf. Australia won the 5-test ASHES series 3-0, with 2 test matches still to be played.
The England batting collapsed from a strong position of 368/4 on the second day to 403/10 in less than 10 overs. The momentum which was with England until then suddenly shifted to the home side, Australia.
Thanks to the England bowler’s poor length and great batting display from Smith, the Australian captain went on to score yet another double-century in Test cricket. He scored 239 before he was struck LBW in Anderson’s bowling. The 301-run partnership between Smith (239) and M Marsh (181) helped the hosts to amass 662/9 on the board before declaring.
The pathetic batting display from England further continued in their second innings. England started their second innings trialling by 259 runs. Apart from JM Vince (55), DJ Malan (54), and CR Woakes (22), no one even cross 20 runs. Extras (18) stood as the fourth highest score in England’s second innings.
Australia won the match with an Innings and 41 runs. Josh Hazelwood who took 3/92 in the first innings, registered 5/48 in the second innings. This is the 7th consecutive loss for England in tests. Australia wins the Ashes series after winning the first 3 test matches of the 5-match Ashes Series.
