Blast in Lucknow NTPC kills 18 Members

An accident at the National Thermal Power Corporation plant in the city of Lucknow killed 18 workers after a boiler has exploded. According to the official sources, the incident has taken place at 3:30 pm on Wednesday. ‘A loud sound was heard in the sixth unit in Uhanchar Plat at a height of 20 meters. After the blast a gust of hot air and the vapor suffocated the personnel who were working nearby,’ said an official source.

Yogi Adityanath who is currently on an International trip is said to be monitoring the current situation from continuously.

blast in lucknow ntpc kills 18 membersAccording to the primary information, the explosion has killed 18 people and injured over 100 people who were working there at the time of the incident, said Uttar Pradesh Additional DGP Anand Kumar. 22 people who were known to have suffered severe burns have been shifted to Lucknow immediately, while 15 are being treated in Raebareli.

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a compensation of Rs. 2 Lakhs for the families of the deceased and Rs. 50 thousand for those who are severely injured in the accident. Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi has expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and injured, and also expressed shock with the accident taking place in her constituency. She has ordered the local medical authorities to provide the affected with immediate and better medical aid.
