The Congress-JDS candidate Ugrappa has been victorious with a bumper majority of more than 2 lakh votes. The majority itself shows the clear rejection of people and their verdict has given a shock to BJP high command.
With Congress becoming strong day by day by forming allies with others, this by-poll is considered as the most prominent one before the general elections. Even Yeddyurappa and Gali brothers have campaigned vigorously but the end result has given a shock of their life.
