one of the toughest endurance events in the world.

Huafrid Billimoria has accomplished several other firsts, such as being the first individual with dystonia to swim 10km consecutively in open waters within a year and the first individual with dystonia to complete an Ironman competition. He has also competed in an Asian triathlon event recognized by the sport’s governing body, World Triathlon, involving a 750 meters swim, 20 km cycling, and 5 km running.

Recently, Billimoria won a bronze medal in the PTS5 section of the Asia Triathlon Para Championships held in Uzbekistan. Despite facing tremendous hardships due to his disabilities, this achievement marks the beginning of a new dream for Billimoria as he aspires to represent India in the Paralympics and win a medal.

Huafrid Billimoria’s journey has been challenging but serves as an inspiration for individuals with disabilities to pursue their dreams. His desire to participate in tough endurance sports was ignited when he read about an Ironman race, motivating him to prove that someone with a genetic neurological disorder like his can endure physical stress and compete in competitive sports.

Although Billimoria pursued hotel management and social work studies, he realized that many disability advocates only talked about creating social impact without taking extraordinary actions. Determined to make a difference, he became the fastest Indian and the fastest person with his condition in the world to complete an Ironman event. He has now set his sights on representing India in the Paralympics and undertaking spine-chilling endurance challenges such as climbing Mount Everest, participating in ultra cycling races, swimming the English Channel, and more.

With his unwavering determination and endurance, Billimoria aims to surpass limits and achieve his dreams, inspiring even able-bodied individuals with his remarkable achievements.
