The trailer of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s much-awaited film Irumudi is set to be unveiled this Wednesday. With the film gearing up for a theatrical release on August 21, expectations are running high. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the family drama blends emotional elements with a devotional backdrop.
In a recent interview with Galatta Plus, director Shiva Nirvana clarified that Irumudi has no direct connection to Sabarimala or the Ayyappa Swamy pilgrimage. He explained that the 41-day Ayyappa Deeksha is an important part of the protagonist’s journey and serves as a key element in the screenplay.
According to the filmmaker, the story revolves around a flawed character who is forced to change his lifestyle while undertaking the 41-day Deeksha. The restrictions associated with the Deeksha create a natural conflict for the character, particularly when he has to give up habits such as drinking.
Shiva Nirvana further revealed that the 41-day timeline forms the core of the screenplay, with the events that unfold before and during this period driving the story forward. He believes this structure adds an interesting dimension to the family drama.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Irumudi stars Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead, while Baby Nakshatra plays Ravi Teja’s daughter. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music for the film.
