Prime Minister Narendra Modi reinstated the fact that the Central Government is focused on unearthing the black money of Netas stored in the names of various Benamis. Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, 15th edition, PM Modi stated that, ‘the government is committed to its promise of unearthing black money.

We are seriously pursuing the matter of Benamis. We will draw on the power of Aadhaar and will track down Benamis of various Netas. Strict actions will be taken against them. We are ready to pay the political price.’

Modi offered a comprehensive definition of the government’s agenda in transforming the financial sector and stated that GST gave rise to a new financial era in the country.

It is known that opposition parties, especially the Congress Party have made the ‘Demonetization and GST’ as its central planks for the upcoming Gujarat Elections.

PM Modi also stated that the people of the nation voted (in 2014) for a permanent, irreversible and far-reaching change. We do acknowledge the trouble caused by demonetization in particular. But that change was necessary and has resulted in cashless transactions in the cash-first economy of India.
