Thanks to the 4-month row between Katthi Mahesh and Pawan Kalyan fans, the former became an instant celebrity in the Telugu states. The self-acclaimed film critic often found himself in a world of controversies, after his true nature in attacking Pawan Kalyan was exposed. Once again, Katthi Mahesh comments on ‘Intelligent’ movie poster irked Mega fans.

‘How can an injured person hold a gun? Doesn’t look like an apt title to the poster’ said Katthi Mahesh, referring to Sai Dharam Teja ‘Intelligent’ movie poster.

In fact, these kinds of posters are very common in the film fraternity. Directors come up with these kinds of posters to elevate the hero, and heroism in the film. However, Katthi Mahesh always targets Mega family. Though many films’ promotional posters have released in the recent past, Katthi Mahesh did not comment on any of them.

Meanwhile, other film critics opined that Katthi Mahesh is targeting Mega family to just promote himself on social media and electronic media.

Pawan Kalyan also announced that from here on he would be only seen in politics. In fact, his statements hardly had any effect in the political circles. Irrespective of flops and his film career, Pawan Kalyan films still have a large market. Despite Agnyaathavaasi turning out to be an utter flop movie, it still raked up Rs. 68 crores alone in the Telugu states. In recent times, irrespective of a film’s result, the producers are celebrating Success Meets, and Thanks Meets. This is also seen as a ‘promotional activity’ with an aim to prolong the film’s run in the theatres. This trend is quite common, especially for star hero movies and big-ticket films. Even Balakrishna’s Jai Simha is also following the same trend. Given the negative talk, the film failed to impress trade circuits with its box-office collections. In fact, the overseas collections of the film did not even cross Rs. 1 crore share. Such is the pathetic situation of the film in the overseas.

Despite that, Jai Simha ‘Thanks, Meet’ was organized. During the event, producer claimed, Jai Simha had collected Rs. 50 crores. Leaving aside those claims, Balakrishna’s comments became sensational. Balakrishna said ‘Every film of mine is a record’ during his speech

‘I am very happy to know that my films are creating new records. Moreover, records are not new to me. My film, Samarasimha Reddy celebrated Silver Jubilee function in 32 centers. A record untouched even till date,’ said Balakrishna.

Form the past couple of months, social media has been quite active about Venkatesh and Teja movie. Even Teja has been keen on making a film with Venkatesh from a long time. But the senior star hero put the Teja on hold, given the director’s track record. After Teja’s successful outing with ‘Nene Raju, Nene Mantri’, the director Teja received a call back from Venkatesh. Incidentally, Teja received a call from Balakrishna, asking him to direct the biopic on Teja.

Teja planned to complete his film with Venkatesh in 3 months and completely focus on Balakrishna’s NTR movie. In the current times, a film is likely to end as a disaster, if the director is in a hurry to complete it in 3 months. Realizing the same, Venkatesh reportedly advised Teja to take 6 months’ for the completion of the film.

If Teja chooses to spend 6 months on Venkatesh’s film, there will be a definite class with the shooting schedule of Balakrishna’s NTR film. in this context, Teja put forth a proposal with Venkatesh that, he will only do the film if it is for three months. Therefore, this made Venkatesh cancel the movie, and go ahead with Puri Jagannadh for his next film.Puri Jagannadh is currently busy directing (and producing) the film ‘Mehbooba’. Anushka’s Bhaagamathie is all set to release this Republic Day, 26th of January. ‘Pilla Zamindar’ fame, Ashok is directing the multilingual (Telugu – Tamil) thriller film. Bhaagamathie turns out to be the third biggest movie for release this year. In fact, previous two big-ticket movies that released for Sankranti, Agnyaathavaasi and Jai Simha, failed to impress the Telugu audience. The producers are hoping that Bhaagamathie will stand out as the first blockbuster of the new year.

The film is bankrolled by Vamsi and Pramod, on UV Creations banner. Along with Bhaagamathie, Manchu Vishnu’s ‘Achari America Yatra’, and Ravi Teja’s ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ were slated to release on the same day. ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ will be released on February 2nd, while small-budget movies are likely to find some other dates in the next month.
