The ace producer Dil Raju despite releasing more films as a producer ended up with huge losses with a couple of projects. However, he has got a master plan to pull himself out of losses.

Going into the details, Dil Raju started his career by distributing the cult classic of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan´s Tholi Prema. As he failed to get a chance to work with him directly, he used to distribute Pawan´s flicks in Nizam area. On the same note, he has bought the most hyped dud Agnyathavasi for a record price after Baahubali-2 in Nizam by betting big on the names of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram. The movie opened with the second highest grosses in Telugu but ended up as one of the biggest disasters in the T-town.

Dil Raju who incurred more than 20 crores of loss in Nizam is now looking forward to well utilize the Powerstar to his maximum. He is thinking of roping in his director Harish Shankar to make a flick in Pawan Kalyan´s combination. A source close to the Raju´s camp revealed that Harish Sankar has got a bound script which he has exclusively prepared for his idol Pawan Kalyan. Now Raju is making this script to a project if Pawan allocates his dates such that he can make some money out of this project in order to save Agnyathavasi distributors under him in Nizam.

But some movie analysts opine that this project has fewer chances to hit the shooting floor as Pawan has already announced his retirement from movies. But his hardcore fans wish to see another hit like Gabbar Singh before his retirement.

January 2018 A Big disaster in Telugu Film Industry

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

Trade experts and film analysts hoped that Tollywood’s New Year would start with a bang. Given the line-up of films; Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi, Balakrishna’s Jai Simha and Anushka’s Bhaagamathie, everything expected January 2018 to be memorable like January 2017. Last year, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No. 150 and Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra gave Tollywood the best start in along time.

This year, things have been completely on the flipside. Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi remained as the biggest disaster in Telugu Film Industry in recent times. Similarly, Jai Simha turned out to be a below par film. Though the film saved its producer, it did not achieve the ‘hit’ status. The last big-ticket film is Anushka’s Bhaagamathie.

After seeing disaster with Agnyaathavaasi, and underperformance of Jai Simha, Telugu audience hoped that Bhaagamathie will come to rescue. Eventually, Bhaagamathie too disappointed. The film did not live up to its expectations. It failed to repeat the magic of Arundhati. The spectacular grandeur in the film and Anushka’s brilliant performance were far too high for the director to match with. The weak screenplay meant the film remained as an average.

Despite a month into the new year, and three big-ticket films releasing, Tollywood is yet to taste its real success! Let us hope for the best!
