Shrashti Varma Becomes First Eliminated Contestant in Bigg Boss Season 9

The first week of Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9, hosted by hero Nagarjuna, has officially come to an end, marking the season’s very first elimination. Choreographer Shrashti Varma was evicted from the house, making her the first contestant to exit the show this season.

Interestingly, many viewers had expected another female contestant to be eliminated, but the surprise decision sent Shrashti out instead.

Before entering the house, Shrashti had shared that everyone—including herself—wears a mask in the outside world, but in shows like Bigg Boss, one’s true personality eventually comes out. She also noted that while contestants may manage to act for a couple of weeks, maintaining a façade becomes impossible over time.

This season of Bigg Boss stands out as it gives equal importance to commoners along with celebrities. A total of nine celebrities and six commoners stepped into the house. Among the nominated contestants, Sanjana and Tanuja survived elimination this week.

Manchu Manoj Impresses as The Black Sword in Mirai

Mirai marks the first collaboration between young star Teja Sajja and director Kartik Gattamneni, and the film is enjoying a successful run at the box office. The audience’s response has been very positive, leaving the makers thrilled.

One of the biggest highlights of the movie is Manchu Manoj’s performance as Mahabir Lama, also known as The Black Sword. Sharing screen space with Teja Sajja, Manoj brings a commanding presence and unique style to the character. His intense performance, coupled with sharp dialogue delivery, makes The Black Sword one of the most memorable antagonists in recent Telugu cinema.

Critics and fans alike have praised the way Manoj’s role elevates the hero’s journey, with many dubbing this new phase of his career as “Manchu Manoj 2.0.” Viewers are even urging him to take up more powerful villain roles in the future.

Alongside Manoj and Teja Sajja, the film features Shriya Saran, Ritika Nayak, Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, and several others in key roles. Backed by People Media Factory, the movie’s music is composed by Gowra Hari, further enriching the fantasy action drama.

Young hero Teja Sajja has quickly become one of the most discussed names in Telugu cinema. After scoring a blockbuster with Hanu-Man during Sankranti 2024, many wondered if he could replicate the success. He silenced all doubts with Mirai, which opened strongly and impressed both critics and audiences. Now, all eyes are on his next move.

Teja is all set to headline the sequel to his 2021 hit Zombie Reddy, which marked Telugu cinema’s first zombie film. Directed by Prashant Varma, the original started small but went on to become a surprise box-office success and found further love on OTT and TV.

While producer Naga Vamsi was initially expected to bankroll the sequel, the project is now being mounted on a bigger scale by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. Prashant Varma will serve as the scriptwriter and showrunner, while the direction is likely to be handled by Bollywood filmmaker Suparn Verma, known for The Family Man and Rana Naidu. An official confirmation is awaited.

Interestingly, Zombie Reddy 2 is expected to go on floors before the sequel to Mirai, titled Mirai – Jaithraya. The official announcement about the sequel will be made very soon.

Teja Sajja’s filmography is taking an exciting turn as three of his projects – Zombie Reddy, Hanu-Man, and Mirai – are now spawning sequels. Although he won’t be the lead in Jai Hanuman, his rise as a bankable star with franchise potential is undeniable.

Mirai, the action-adventure fantasy saga that brings together young star Teja Sajja and director Karthik Gattamneni for the first time, has emerged as a sensational blockbuster. The film also features Manchu Manoj in a powerful antagonist role.

In just three days, Mirai stormed the global box office with a whopping Rs. 81.2 crore gross. With ticket sales already soaring, all eyes are now on Monday’s collections. If the film manages to cross Rs. 20 crore today, it will swiftly enter the coveted Rs. 100 crore club.

The fantasy spectacle also stars Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, and Sriram Reddy in pivotal roles. Backed by People Media Factory, the film’s music is composed by Gowra Hari.

Little Hearts Box Office Run Extends; OTT Release Pushed Back

The sensational blockbuster Little Hearts, starring Mouli Tanuj Prashanth and Shivani Nagaram, continues to pull crowds to theatres even after the release of new films like Mirai and Kishkindhapuri. This youthful entertainer has already grossed over Rs. 32 crores and is now eyeing the Rs. 40 crore milestone. Directed by Sai Marthand, the film has turned out to be a massive crowd-pleaser.

On the digital front, ETV Win holds the post-theatrical streaming rights. However, in a surprising move, the film’s OTT release is unlikely to follow the usual four-week theatrical window observed in Tollywood. According to a recent report by OTT Play, ETV Win, which is also part of the production, has decided to delay the digital premiere by at least one to two weeks.

If these reports turn out to be true, Little Hearts will remain in theatres until Diwali 2025, giving it more time to rake in box office revenues. Such an extension could potentially make the industry rethink the traditional four-week window for OTT releases in Telugu cinema.

The film also features Rajeev Kanakala, Jay Krishna, Anita Chowdhary, SS Kanchi, and Sathya Krishnan in pivotal roles. Music is composed by Sinjith Yerramilli, while distribution is being handled by Vamsi Nandipati and Bunny Vas.

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’ Kishkindhapuri Emerges a Surprise Hit at the Box Office

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’ latest film, Kishkindhapur, is surprising everyone at the box office. Released alongside the much-hyped Mirai, many expected the horror thriller to struggle. But contrary to predictions, the film is running strong and proving to be a winner.

What’s even more impressive is the trend in collections. Day three numbers have surpassed day two, which were already higher than the opening day. Such upward momentum is rare in Tollywood and shows the kind of love Kishkindhapuri is receiving from audiences. Despite heavy competition from Mirai and the blockbuster Little Hearts, the film has held its ground and is heading toward solid hit status.

Made on a budget of ₹32 crores, the movie has already recovered most of its investment through non-theatrical deals worth ₹28 crores. With theatrical rights valued at ₹8 crores, Kishkindhapuri grossed ₹15 crores in its opening weekend alone. Break-even is already achieved, and buyers are set to make good profits.

This marks a strong comeback for Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, who has been waiting for a hit since Rakshasudu. The film also puts producer Sahu Garapati back in the game after the underwhelming Laila. The Monday noon and matinee shows opened well, signaling a steady long run.

Anupama Parameswaran stars as the female lead. Trade analysts predict Kishkindhapuri could touch ₹30 crores gross by the end of its full run, making it one of the surprise hits of the season.

Bigg Boss 9 Telugu Week 1: Shrashti Varma Eliminated, Bharani Becomes Permanent Owner

The first elimination of Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 is here! As expected, popular choreographer Shrashti Varma was evicted after failing to impress the audience in her debut week. Despite her fame outside the house, she couldn’t connect much with viewers and received the fewest votes.

In Saturday’s episode, host Nagarjuna schooled several housemates for their behavior, especially Manish and Priya. At one point, when Priya forgot an incident involving Ramu Rathod and Shrashti, Nag quipped, “You are a doctor, take medicine for forgetfulness,” leaving everyone in splits.

Sunday’s episode was more colorful, with Teja Sajja and Ritika Nayak gracing the stage to promote their blockbuster Mirai. They entertained both the audience and housemates by playing fun games and making contestants dance.

Later, Nag announced a special task to determine the first permanent owner of the house. The contestants were split into two teams – Red (Bharani, Ramu Rathod, Shrashti Varma, Tanuja) and Blue (Sanjana, Emmanuel, Ritu Chaudhary, Suman Shetty), with Flora Shiney acting as the sanchalak.

The task involved collecting, stamping, and securing papers in ballot boxes while blocking the rival team. Intense clashes broke out, with Bharani aggressively targeting Blue team members. Sanjana’s mistake of leaving papers visible gave the Red team an edge, and they eventually won.

Finally, after voting, Bharani was chosen as the first permanent owner of the house. He also gained the power to appoint an assistant and chose Tanuja for the role.

With eliminations, drama, promotions, and heated tasks, Bigg Boss 9 Telugu is slowly picking up momentum for the weeks ahead.

Manchu Manoj Shines as Black Sword in Mirai: A Career-Defining Antagonist Role

0

Manchu Manoj shines as Black Sword in Mirai, redefining his career path

Rocking Star Manchu Manoj, who made his comeback earlier this year with Bhairavam, faced criticism for his exaggerated dialogue delivery and unnecessary modulations. Since the film was a remake with multiple leads, Manoj couldn’t fully showcase his potential, leaving audiences underwhelmed.

However, the tables turned with Mirai, which was released yesterday. Manoj played the antagonist Black Sword, locking horns with Teja Sajja, and his performance has been receiving solid appreciation. Unlike his earlier outings, Manoj avoided over-the-top dramatics and delivered a balanced, stylish portrayal of the villain. His efforts to refine his craft are clearly paying off, and the role is already being hailed as a turning point in his second innings.

With back-to-back negative roles in Bhairavam and Mirai, Manoj seems to be carving a niche as a formidable on-screen villain. If this acceptance continues, he could fill the gap in Tollywood for stylish Telugu-speaking antagonists—similar to how Jagapathi Babu reinvented himself with Legend.

That said, Manoj is not restricting himself to villain roles alone. He has also signed What the Fish, where he plays the lead protagonist. However, the film’s progress has been kept tightly under wraps.

For now, Mirai has given Manchu Manoj the much-needed momentum to explore diverse and challenging roles in the future.
