Mirai Director Reveals How Bird Sampathi Was Created Using Animatronics

0

Teja Sajja’s superhero spectacle Mirai is continuing its strong box-office run, competing head-to-head with Kishkindhapuri, while Little Hearts also shines in cinemas. One of the biggest talking points from Mirai has been the breathtaking visual effects, particularly the creation of the mystical bird Sampathi, which has received a hugely positive response from audiences.

While many assumed Sampathi was fully CGI, director Karthik Ghattamaneni clarified the truth behind the visual wonder.

“We didn’t make Sampathi entirely in CGI. It was created using animatronics, designed like a real bird and operated with a remote control,” revealed Karthik.

Interestingly, he added that there is only one expert in animatronics in India, working out of Mumbai, who built a massive bird-like model specifically for Mirai. The sequences between Teja Sajja and Sampathi were filmed near Shamshabad, with the bird responding to remote-controlled movements.

Karthik also spoke about the challenges of shooting the underwater sequence featuring Teja and Sampathi:

“That underwater sequence is the proudest cheat I pulled off in Mirai. Since we couldn’t find a pool big enough to fit the bird, we filmed the shots separately and scaled them down. Thankfully, audiences loved it without noticing the trick.”

A Hyderabad-based VFX team handled the rest of the visual effects, seamlessly blending CGI with animatronics to bring Sampathi’s presence alive on screen. The technical brilliance has been widely appreciated, further elevating the film’s grand scale.

Produced by People Media Factory, Mirai released on Friday and is riding high on box-office success as well as critical acclaim for its technical mastery.

Mirai Makers to Reintroduce Vibe Vundi Song After Fan Demand

0

The chartbuster “Vibe Vundi”, the first single from Mirai, created waves even before the film’s release. The peppy, high-energy track became an instant social media sensation, sparking countless reels, dance covers, and fan edits. Kids and youth, in particular, connected strongly with the song, making it one of the movie’s biggest pre-release highlights.

But when Mirai finally released in theatres, fans were left shocked and disappointed—the much-loved “Vibe Vundi” track was missing from the film’s final cut. Many moviegoers, especially children who came in expecting to see the song on the big screen, felt let down. Social media quickly filled with reactions pointing out how the absence of the song took away one of the film’s expected high points.

According to reports, director Karthik Ghattamaneni and his team decided to remove the song for narrative reasons, as they felt its placement could disrupt the superhero film’s pacing and intensity.

However, here’s the twist—industry buzz now suggests that the makers are planning to reintroduce “Vibe Vundi” into Mirai from the second week. Trade circles believe that this strategic move could attract family audiences and kids back to theatres, boosting repeat footfalls.

With Mirai already performing like a blockbuster at the box office, adding “Vibe Vundi” back into the theatrical cut could reignite excitement and help the film sustain its momentum even further. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if the team officially confirms this big update.

Vijay Antony’s Bhadrakali Trailer Promises a Gripping Political Thriller

0

Vijay Antony, fresh off the decent response to Maargan, is back with yet another intriguing project. This time, he steps into the world of politics with his new film Bhadrakali, a political thriller directed by Arun Prabhu of Aruvi and Vaazh fame.

The trailer of Bhadrakali has instantly sparked curiosity with its gripping cut. Set in the murky corridors of politics, the film showcases a world filled with politicians, government officials, ministers, foreign ambassadors, and more. But the striking point is that all of them are connected by one mysterious link—the character played by Vijay Antony.

Interestingly, Vijay Antony doesn’t appear immediately in the trailer. Instead, the edit teases his character by showing how every major figure seems obsessed or troubled by him. He is labeled as everything from a pimp, gangster, and corrupt man, yet remains the central figure in this thrilling political web. The trailer promises a fast-paced narrative packed with suspense and drama, hinting at a rooted, hard-hitting political thriller—something Tamil cinema has always excelled at.

Whether Bhadrakali turns into a much-needed blockbuster for Vijay Antony will also depend on his promotional push. For Maargan, his promotional efforts were comparatively lower, but with Bhadrakali, the stakes are higher and the curiosity is real.

The film stars Vaagai Chandrasekar, Sunil Kripalani, Cell Murugan, Trupthi Ravindra, Kiran, Rini, Riya Jithu, and Master Keshav in pivotal roles. Shelley R. Calist handles the cinematography, while Vijay Antony himself has composed the music. The movie is jointly produced by Sarvanth Ram Creations, Ramanjaneyulu Javvaji Productions, and Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
