The much-anticipated premiere of ‘Karthikeya 2’ has caused issues for the young actor, Nikhil Siddhartha though. In a recent media interview, Nikhil stated that he now realized how challenging it is to set a release date and then carry it out.

According to him, ‘Karthikeya 2’ was initially slated to hit theatres on July 22, but that date was later changed to August 12. As the producers are now required to reschedule the release for October starting on this date. The actor admitted, “The powerless situation made me cry.”

Nikhil, a rising star in Tollywood, has a number of intriguing projects planned for the future. He will star in the ‘Karthikeya 2’, the sequel to his super hit movie ‘Karthikeya’, as well as the suspense thriller ‘118’ alongside Anupama Parameswaran. With their intriguing concept art and trailers, both of these movies have generated a lot of talks, but have been facing issues related to their release dates.

A few producers in the Telugu Film Industry seem to be involved in power politics, which has resulted in a problematic atmosphere for most small-budget movies in the last few years. Despite being content-driven, movies like ‘Karthikeya 2’ have been facing release-related delays due to other movies.

Louis Tomlinson says One Direction’s first album was ‘s**t’

Singer Louis Tomlinson thinks One Direction’s first album was “s**t” as he reflected on the 12 years since he, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan were grouped together on the British TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ and said he doesn’t think their debut LP, ‘Up All Night, was any good.

Speaking on the ‘Smallzy’s Surgery’ podcast, he said: “Twelve years ago today the band got formed, but the first album was s**t anyway.”

Tomlinson is currently working on his second solo album and said he feels a lot of pressure to live up to the success of his former band, reports aceshowbiz.com.

He said: “There’s still pressure obviously for me to deliver a good record … and me trying to find my feet coming out of a band as big as One Direction.”

The ‘Back to You singer isn’t the only former member of the group to have criticized their music, as Zayn declared their records were “generic as f**k” in 2016, a year after he’d quit the band.

He previously said: “There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band. If I would sing a hook or a verse slightly R&B, or slightly myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop, generic as f**k, so they could use that version.

“Whenever I would suggest something, it was like it didn’t fit us. There was just a general conception that the management already had of what they want for the band, and I just wasn’t convinced with what we were selling.

“I wasn’t 100 percent behind the music. It wasn’t me. It was music that was already given to us, and we were told this is what is going to sell to these people.”

Tamil actor Karthi, who plays the pivotal character of Vanthiya Devan in Mani Ratnam’s much-awaited magnum opus, ‘Ponniyin Selvan, says that the ace director has completed shooting both parts of the film in a matter of just 120 days.

Speaking at the launch of the first single, ‘Ponni Nadhi’, from the film, Karthi said the song is about a river. “All civilizations have started in rivers. Then, it was Ponni. Now, it is Cauvery. Every river has its own characteristics. Rivers have inspired poets. They have been a motivating force for even common people like us.

“When lots of people were saying that we cannot make a film on the scale of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, we started. Then Covid struck. When we were perplexed, just like how a river knows to find its way to the sea, we knew Mani sir knew how to take this film to its logical end.

“We all went and stood with Mani sir and worked. In a matter of just 120 days, he completed both ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’. It is not easy to make two films in 120 days.

“We would put our makeup on at 2-2.30 a.m. There would be 30 people waiting ready to put on makeup on us. Nobody would sleep. At 6.30 in the morning, we would take the first shot.

“Working on this film was like a dream. To make another film like this, a director would have to be born. Only Mani sir can do this.”
