Visakhapatnam: Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan launched a scathing attack on the government for christening and rechristening the government schemes after former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. At a review meeting held with the constituency leaders, the JSP chief pointed out that the schemes were not initiated from the YSRC leaders’ personal funds to name them as they wish.

Referring to the renaming of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Pratibha Puraskar Awards as YSR Vidya Puraskars, he said that one would not be surprised if the YSRCP repaints the national flag also into blue, white and green next. Addressing a huge gathering at the Green City gated community here on Tuesday, Pawan expressed ire over the cases being registered against JSP leaders and workers and demanded that they should be withdrawn otherwise he would teach the YSRCP a ‘befitting lesson’.

Referring to the attack on Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport, which is now infamous as ‘Kodi Kathi’ case, Pawan demanded an interrogation into it. “Similarly, we demand a probe into the murder of former MP Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy. Why is the government silent about these two cases now?” Pawan asked. The JSP chief said that he was unaffected by the success or failure in politics. “Our party’s ideology is only to stand by the people and fight for their concerns. I don’t wish to resort to the mudslinging as it does not serve anybody’s purpose. Our appeal is to sort out the burning issues such as sand shortage and provide good governance,” he reiterated.

“There is a need to be strong and stand up as our unity is our strength. Likewise, our disunity turns into YSRCP’s strength as well. It is time to decide whether to stay united and fight together or exhibit our weakness being disunited,” Pawan appealed to people. The JSP chief mentioned that his fight for Special Category Status has distanced him from the BJP. “But despite my failure, close to 1.5 lakh people took part in the long march. It is apparent that I am there in people’s heart,” he said, adding that Gajuwaka stays close to his heart and there was no question of leaving the constituency.
