video conference with the Chief Ministers of various state Ministers

The nationwide lockdown in India meant the closing of almost every other business except that of daily essentials. As a result, the economy has been suffering ever since the lockdown has been put into effect.

In the video conference with the Chief Ministers of various states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on the fact that the economy has been suffering because of the lockdown, and that it needs to be given importance as well.

While the lockdown has helped save thousands and lakhs of lives in India, it has depleted the country’s economy. Even if the lockdown is lifted, life will not go back to the way it was, but the economy can be revived a little.

We have to now see what steps the government will take to make sure that both, lives and the economy is safe.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister launched a Good Scheme

Proving his ‘walk-the-talk’ reputation for the umpteenth time, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday formally launched the ‘YSR Zero Interest Loan’ scheme, conceptualized to benefit close to one crore women of the self-help groups in the state.

At a simple event held at his camp office cum residence, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister kick-started the scheme by formally transferring online Rs 1400 crores of money towards reimbursement of interest amount on loans. Thus, YS Jagan proved yet again that he remains committed to his promises even in the face of unprecedented crises like the current Coronavirus pandemic which dried up the state’s revenues and cash reserves.

As soon as the chief minister pressed the button online, the amounts were electronically transferred into 8,78,874 accounts of the DWCRA groups falling under the jurisdiction of SERP and MEPMA. This will benefit a total of 90,37,254 women members who are part of the self-help DWCRA groups, spread across the state.

After launching the scheme, the AP chief minister had a chit chat with DWCRA group members from across all districts through video-conference. With YS Jagan fulfilling his promise even in the midst of a severe financial crunch due to the Coronavirus lockdown, the women are obviously elated. They feel indebted to the chief minister and the AP government for helping them out with the reimbursement of the interest amount during this current critical time.

India is so far witnessing a vast 16,000 plus positive coronavirus cases. On the one hand, the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan says that the situation is satisfactory as the rate of doubling of coronavirus patients has been improving which is “a good indication”.On the other hand, the Telangana’s Chief Minister KCR is on the verge to make stricter rules on lockdown.

KCR’s Cabinet meeting today has been more than three and a half hours, which made them to discuss and take crucial decisions on further extension of the lockdown. The cabinet meeting hints that there will be no relaxation in lockdown restrictions in the state. And the government is planning to extend the lockdown until 7th of May. The state has 809 positive cases in which 189 have been recovered and claimed 18 lives.

While Union Health Minister assured that the data is improving with each passing day, the Telugu states’ data is still distressing. Also, in Andhra, the number of cases have crossed 600-mark with 647. The recovered patients are 65 and the virus has claimed 17 lives. Andhra faced the worse with a spike of 44 cases in just 24 hours today. Most of them have emerged from Kurnool (26), Krishna (6) and East Godavari (5) today.

COVID-19 positive cases in Andhra Pradesh

In what it could be shocker, 31 fresh COVID-19 positive were reported in Andhra Pradesh which takes the toll of the positive cases in the state to 603 creating many concerns and fear among the public.

Out of these 31 new COVID-19 cases, Krishna district reported 18 cases while Kurnool. Nellore, Prakasham and East Godavari districts reported 5,3, 2 and 2 cases respectively.

West Godavari district has reported one positive case of novel coronavirus, while Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts managed to still report zero COVID-19 cases till now.

Pawan Kalyan jumps in as a lawyer to get the order in favour of the girl

Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab is actually targetting a May release, but going by the current situation that date is impossible to reach. Because of Covid-19 related lockdown, already shootings got halted and might resume only a couple of months later. If shootings resume, say in June, what’s the pending work related to Vakeel Saab, ala Pink remake?

According to sources, Vakeel Saab has almost 20 days work to wrap though it is all related to a single location only. They have to shoot the stunning court sequences where the four girls get questioned by the judiciary and how Pawan Kalyan jumps in as a lawyer to get the order in favour of the girl. This is the major portion of the film and they have to shoot it at a set erected in Annapurna Studios.

At the same time, as Pawan is going through the changed version of Pink (the Tamil version), he has to shoot some romantic sequences with a heroine (Shruti Haasan walked out of this) and a song should be finished at a house. So it might take almost 30 days to wrap these two pending things, such that Vakeel Saab will be ready.

Karnataka’s former CM Kumaraswamy Son Nikhil ‘s wedding

Son of Karnataka’s former CM Kumaraswamy and grandson of former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s wedding took place in a grand way at Gowda’s farmhouse in Ramanagara about 28 km from Bengaluru city. Nikhil Gowda has tied the knot with Revathi, the grandniece of a former minister.

Although it’s a high-profile wedding ceremony between two politically significant families, HD Kumaraswamy claimed that there were no guests other than the family members and close relatives of the groom and bride. It was a traditional wedding ceremony following all Hindi rituals. Priests have performed the wedding ceremony and family members have blessed the newly married couple.

While the families of the couple claim that they have taken strict measures in the wake of Corona Virus pandemic and all the attendees were screened properly, social media and several media reports pointed that the social distance rule has been flouted. The pictures of wedding circulated online indicate that the social distance of 4 feet was not followed. And this has become hot discussion in political and media circles.

Initially, the families have decided to organize the grand wedding in Bengaluru itself. Despite the lockdown Kumaraswamy had refused to postpone the wedding. Since Bengaluru is in Red Zone and considered as Covid-19 hotspot, finally, the familieshave changed the venue to Ramanagara, the Assembly constituency of Kumaraswamy. In a video message to his followers and party leaders on Thursday, Kumaraswamy appealed them to stay away from wedding. He promised to organize a bigger event at a later date.

It can be noted that Nikhil Gowda had made his debut with Jaguar movie which had multi-lingual release including in Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. However, the film failed to deliver at the Box Office. He eventually turned into politician. Nikhil Gowda had unsuccessfully contested for Mandya Lok Sabha where his family has stronghold politically where he was lost to independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh.

The Corona positive cases are not slowing down in the country. The other day, the new cases count went below 1000 after two consecutive days but again in the last 24 hours, 1007 new cases are confirmed and the total number of cases stands at 13,387 while the active cases are 11,201.

CM KCR wants to implement the lockdown more seriously

Though the Central Government has extended the lockdown to contain Corona, it has also decided to ease the restrictions a bit in areas that have no known Covid 19 positive cases. This is intended mainly to kickstart some economic activity in the country.

However, Telangana CM KCR seems to have different ideas about the new guidelines issued by the Centre. These guidelines are to come into force from April 20. According to highly placed sources, KCR has decided not to implement these guidelines and implement the lockdown more strictly. He is said to be of the opinion that if any laxity is given at this stage, it would be counter productive. So, he wants to implement the lockdown more seriously even in non-containment areas.

The State Government is also unhappy at the non-inclusion of Suryapet in the containment zone. Despite the fact that it has recorded 20 new Crona positive cases, it has not been included. Hence KCR wants to implement lockdown rules to the T. If sources are to be believed, KCR is likely to issue a key statement on Friday in this respect.

Actor-cum-politician Kamal Haasan is quite vocal on his social media about the pressing issues of the country.

He wrote, “All the balcony people take a long and hard look at the ground. First, it was Delhi, now Mumbai. The migrant crisis is a time bomb that must be defused before it becomes a crisis bigger than Corona. Balcony government must keep their eyes on what’s happening on the ground too.”

All the balcony people take a long and hard look at the ground. First it was Delhi, now Mumbai. The migrant crisis…

Every One Should Follow The 7 Rules Of MODI

“There is only one lab in January for COVID-19 testing (NIV, Pune) and now, testing is being done in more than 220 labs” says Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding that India’s battle against Covid-19 is strong and on the winning side.

Adding that more discipline and lockdown will eventually help us win the battle, Modi stated that the lockdown will be extended till May 3, while some relaxations in few areas will be implemented with lots of conditions from April 20.

Asking the citizens of the country, to follow seven principles, Modi says, “You have to be with me on these seven points”. And the points include,

1) Take care of elderly people at home who already have ailments.

2) Use homemade masks and follow strict social distancing.

3) Increase your immunity, by following the guidelines given by Ayush Ministry.

4) Download the Arogya Setu mobile app to check if you have crossed paths.

5) Help the poor with their needs, give them food and essentials.

6) Don’t remove employees from jobs and show compassion towards colleagues.

7) Respect and pray for Healthcare workers, Doctors and Sanitation workers

Asking every to stay home and stay safe, Modi gave an assurance that centre and states are working together such that supply chain will not get hit, and ensured that there is no shortage of food grains or any other commodities in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Extended The Lock Down Period

Almost all the media reports and almost all the state governments had information that the lockdown would be extended till April 30th which was fair and all were prepared for this sort of lockdown extension since the situation is only worsening.

However, no one had predicted before Modi‘s address to nation that he had different plan. Instead of extending upto April 30th, Prime Minister went a step further and stated that the lockdown would be in force until May 3rd. This has come as a shocker to many including media houses who didn’t expect this.

It is learnt that this information has been kept highly confidential and no one leaked to media or any state governments as it could leak to media. This has been kept confidential at the top brass of Union Government. Until Modi himself announced, this was kept as secret.

The main reasons for this May 3rd deadlineis, May 1st is naturally a holiday being Labour Day. May 2nd and May 3rd are Saturday and Sunday respectively where most private jobs have holidays.

Since lifting lockdown on April 30th could lead public to come out free in large numbers on May 1st, 2nd and May 3rd had the lockdown is lifted on April 30th and this could defeat the purpose of lockdown as there could be further spread of Corona positive cases, Prime Minister and Home Ministry have extended the lockdown to 3 more days and kept May 3rd as the deadline.

If the relief would come on May 4th or not would purely depend on then circumstances. But given the stern measures being taken up by Union Government and respective state governments across the nation, it is expected that the Corona could come into absolute control as all the positive cases could come to standstill if lockdown is strictly implemented. But this is just an idea. One has to wait and watch as no one could predict what is going to happen in coming days.

Lockdown Extension in Telangana confirmed By CM KCR

Telangana CM KCR says it is inevitable to extend the lockdown to contain the virus spread in the state. Telangana lockdown will be extended up to April 30 for the whole state and KCR said he conveyed the cabinet demand to the center regarding the same. KCR in a relieving word said the Lockdown will be eased phase-wise in the state after April 30.

Revealing about coronavirus cases in Telangana state, CM KCR says the coronavirus infected from the first phase quarantine are all discharged. Coming to the latest tally, Telangana state has a total of 503 positive cases, in which 14 died and 96 discharged including the foreign returned and foreigners. With a total of active 393 cases and 1654 quarantined, KCR expressed confidence in clearing all the coronavirus cases in the state by April 24, given no new cases arise meanwhile.

KCR spoke about 243 containment areas in Telangana, with 123 in GHMC alone. The government is delivering the stuff needed to the doors in the containment areas.

Speaking about schools, KCR said the government will think of 10 class examinations after the lockdown ends but will be auto-promoting 1 to 9th class students without any examinations for this academic year.

KCR reveals his talks with PM Narendra Modi to bring on the Quantitative Easing process known as QE that pumps a percentage of GDP of the whole nation to support the people during calamities. Like the US government released 2 Trillion dollars as stimulus fund, a 10 percent of total GDP of the nation and UK has done 15 percent in the same process, KCR says he proposed it to the center.

India has no other option except to bring QE funds from reserve bank at this financial crisis times. India’s GDP is 203 lakh crores and would be 10 lakh crores if 5 percent is considered as QE. It is intended to help mainly but not limited to industrial workers, informal businesses, people with no ration cards, meet farmers’ demands. This money supplied by RBI is called helicopter money and the decision is upon PM Narendra Modi.

While answering other questions, KCR warned of severe consequences against the adulteration of foods and oils in any part of the state.

KCR wants the lockdown to be extended till April 30th

Other day, when PM Narendra Modi held meeting with the parliamentary leaders of various regional parties, it’s heard that the two Telugu Chief Ministers have expressed different opinions regarding the lockdown. While KCR is said to have proposed a complete lockdown till April 30 in the least, YS Jagan is said to have given another opinion.

Apparently Telangana Chief Minister KCR is worried about the growing number of cases and has already set up hotspots in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana where they will be completely seized of movement, and barricades will be put in place to make sure that none comes out and goes in.

Despite such measures, KCR wants the lockdown to be extended till April 30th in the minimum and lockdown with a bit of relaxation till June 1st week, such that things will be under control.

Expressing their opinion on the same, YS Jagan‘s emissary MP Vijaysai Reddy is said to have asked the Prime Minister to consider opening up lock down in areas where there is no corona scare. The YSRC MP is said to have suggested that lockdown be implemented only in hotspots and leave other areas scout free.

Jagan’s thought is that Andhra Pradesh is already in deficit since bifurcation and losing almost Rs 165+ crores every day, and lockdown will further push the state into debts. As AP already borrowed Rs 1000 Cr from Reserve Bank through Central Govt has given Rs 3000 Cr fund, CM Jagan feels that the situation will not turn worse only if lockdown is lifted.

We have to see if PM Modi will consider the requests of CM KCR Or Jagan, or both.

KCR informed Prime Minister Modi that extension of lock down is necessary

Telangana CM KCR has stated that he informed Prime Minister Modi that the extension of lock down is necessary. KCR, who briefed the media, said the situation is critical and the lock down is the only way to control the spread of the novel Corona Virus. He said there is no other option as of now as there is no vaccine, medicine to treat the Covid-19. Stressing the importance of life and health, KCR has asked the people to cooperate to the government during the lock down and asked everyone to abide my government’s rules.

KCR thanked the entire medical staff for their selfless service to the people in these times. He said people and his government are indebted to the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, medical workers. Equating them with God, he said these people are life saviours.

Citing the report of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), CM KCR said the report has suggested to extend the lock down till June 3. He said if lock down is not extended, the number of Corona cases may increase in Telangana. He also said that the CMs of other states are also in touch with the Prime Minister.

It can be noted that Prime Minister Modi has called and spoken to leaders of various political parties and CMs of states. He sought the opinion of the leaders on the ongoing pandemic situation. PM Modi has spoken to the likes of Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Deve Gowda, Mulayam Singh, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamta Banerjee, KCR, YS Jagan, Naveen Patnaik, Stalin, Prakash Singh Badal.

Modi’s call for ‘Lighting Lamps’ at 9 PM for 9 minutes turned out to be huge success

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Lighting Lamps’ at 9 PM for 9 minutes turned out to be huge success. Humongous response from the public is witnessed all across the nation. The humongous response and the grand success of Lighting Lamps program indicate that the majority of people of the nation are with PM Modi. This shows the further rise of Modi’s popularity among people. Modi’s call has brought the unity and confidence among the Indians during the lock down period. Meanwhile, the total number of Covid 19 positive cases reported in the country so far is 3577 and death toll is increased to 83.

Narendra Modi’s video message to the nation lacked solutions to issues, kamal Hassan

Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan on Friday lamented Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s video message to the nation lacked solutions to issues, including economy and ‘shortage’ of personal protection equipment, arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The actor-politician, who had welcomed the Janta curfew call given by Modi earlier, said he had high expectations from his address to the nation.

In his televised short address, Modi urged people to switch off lights in their homes at 9 pm for nine minutes on April 5 and light up lamps, candles, mobile flashlights to display the nation’s collective spirit to defeat the coronavirus.

“I had high expectations when it was said the Prime Minister was going to talk… (and it would be on) solutions to the shortage of protection equipment, free supply of essential commodities, the livelihood of the poor, future economic measures etc,” Haasan said in a tweet.

“But he is coming (referring) only today to the torch light which we had taken in our hands a long time ago,” he said in an apparent reference to his party’s symbol of battery torchlight.
