Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa’s younger brother Koneru Krishnarao arrested by police for allegedly attacking a forest staff near the village of Sarsala in Kagaznagar Zone in Komuram Bhim district.
The forest staff was attacked by villagers who went to plant Sunday in Sarsala village.
MLA Konappa’s brother and vice-chairman of the Zilla Parishad, Krishnarao, reached there with his supporters and attacked the staff with sticks.
He claims that he did not hit Anita, but that was not backed down by what was evident in the video.
He resigned from his ZP Vice-Chairman position.
Chief Minister KCR expressed outrage over the incident. Officers were ordered to take strict action against the accused.
The district SP said that besides Krishna Rao, a person named Bura Posham from Sarsala village was also taken into custody.
The IPC has registered a case on the attackers under Section 147, 148, 307, 353, 332, 427 and R / W 149.
In a tweet, Rama Rao said: I strongly condemn the atrocious behaviour of Koneru Krishna who attacked a forest officer who was doing her job.
He has been arrested and a case booked already; no one is above the law of the land.
