Robo 2.0 is the much-awaited movie of this year and is a sequel to the sci-fi action film Robo released in 2010. This sequel features Rajinikanth in dual roles as scientist Vashikar and Chitti (the Robo). Amy Jackson is playing the female lead in this movie and her role is also a humanoid robot. The movie is directing by Shankar and producing by Lyca Productions with 500 crores budget. Robo 2.0 is set for its worldwide release on 29th November in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and other few regional languages.
The Telugu version rights of the movie owned by the producer’s trio Dil Raju, NV Prasad and UV Creations and releasing the movie in 1200 screens in two Telugu states. It is the higher number compared to 750 screens in Tamilnadu, 500 screens in Kerala. As per the film circle reports, Telugu rights are sold for the bump price of 80 crores which is a risk to invest considering the current track record of director Shankar and Rajinikanth. The latest releases of this duo were the failures at the box office.
Coming to the main point, the runtime of Robo 2.0 is officially locked as 148 minutes. This means the movie run time is nearly two and a half hours. The recently released trailer has created a positive buzz about the movie but the audiences are still having doubts about the result of the movie and eagerly waiting to know the result of the movie. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is playing the role as a Crow-Man that has negative shades. Director Shankar said that most of the film budget was used for the visual graphics to make it as a visual grandeur to the audience.
