Is It True that Prabhas Donates a Huge Amount to Ayodhya Ram Mandir?
Pan-Indian star Prabhas is enjoying the big success of his recent movie, “Salaar: Part 1-Ceasefire,” making its debut on Netflix tomorrow. However, recent online talks have shifted focus to a different part of his life.
Amid these victories, rumors started spreading on social media that Prabhas donates a big amount to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir just before its Pran Patishtha ceremony on January 22, 2024.
Contrary to these rumors, a close team associated with the actor clarified that Prabhas didn’t make any such donation and surprisingly, wasn’t even invited to the ceremony. This clarification has left many fans disappointed.
Looking forward, Prabhas’s upcoming movie, “Kalki 2898 AD,” is generating huge excitement. After marrying actress Lavanya Tripathi, Mega Prince Varun Tej celebrated his first birthday with his wife. The actor, last seen in “Gandeevadhari Arjuna,” is eagerly awaiting the release of “Operation Valentine” Varun Tej latest movie.
Additionally, Varun Tej has another project titled “Matka,” a pan-Indian film directed by the acclaimed Karuna Kumar, known for his work on “Palasa 1978.”
To mark Varun Tej’s birthday, the makers shared a glimpse called “Opening Bracket,” revealing the actor’s new look and introducing characters from the movie. While the glimpse didn’t reveal much about the film’s plot, it’s confirmed that “Matka” is a period film centered around the gambling game called Matka.
The film stars Meenakshi Chaudhary of “Guntur Kaaram” fame as the lead actress, and the ensemble cast includes Naveen Chandra, Kannada Kishore, Ajay Ghosh, Mime Gopi, Roopalakshmi, Vijayrama Raju, Jagadeesh, Raj Thirandas, and others. Bengaluru Welcomes Apple: New Office in India
On Wednesday, Apple revealed its plans to grow its presence in India by opening a new office in the center of Bengaluru, solidifying its position in the country by increasing local manufacturing.
Situated at Minsk Square, a key location in the city, the new office can accommodate up to 1,200 employees. With 15 floors, the office includes dedicated lab space, areas for collaboration and wellness, and Caffe Macs.
“Bengaluru is already home to so many of our talented teams, including software engineering and hardware technologies, operations, customer support, and more,” an Apple spokesperson told IANS.
“Like everything we do at Apple, this workspace is created to foster innovation, creativity, and connection. It’s an amazing space for our teams to collaborate,” the company spokesperson added. The interiors feature locally-sourced materials like stone, wood, and fabric in the walls and flooring, and the office is filled with native plants.
The new office follows best practices in energy conservation, running on 100 per cent renewable energy, and aims to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum rating — the highest level of LEED certification.
Apple has been carbon neutral for its corporate operations since 2020, and has run all Apple facilities using 100 percent renewable energy since 2018.
The office is the latest addition to the company’s corporate office footprint in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Gurugram, marking another important milestone in Apple’s more than 25-year history in the country.
Apple has nearly 3,000 employees in India and collaborates with Indian suppliers supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs across the country.
The company works with partners advancing critical work to protect the environment and expand access to education and employment, including Frank Water, which helps empower communities to protect their own watersheds on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
Apple’s teams in Bengaluru work across a wide range of Apple’s business — from software, hardware, services, IS&T, operations, customer support, and others. As India focuses on local manufacturing, Apple assembled iPhones worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore in India in 2023, according to industry data.
However, industry sources suggest the actual market value of the iPhones manufactured/assembled in India could be much higher, depending on taxes in other countries.

Saamana Mocks PM Modi’s Temple Cleaning Spree
Making fun of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his call to clean temples before the grand opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Saamana, Shiv Sena’s official mouthpiece, claimed in its latest editorial that even Lord Ram would be amused by the ‘drama.’
Titled ‘Cleaning the Broom,’ the editorial argued that PM Modi’s cleaning campaign and the response from Union ministers and top BJP leaders were just part of the party’s efforts to appeal to the majority ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Prime Minister Modi, who will oversee the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22, initiated the cleaning campaign during a visit to the Kalaram Temple in Nashik on January 12.
Mocking PM Modi’s cleaning efforts at the temple, the Saamana editorial claimed that he was cleaning an already ‘shining’ floor.
“The BJP appears to be staging a drama across the country ahead of the Shri Ram Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. Lord Shri Ram himself would probably be smiling if he watched this drama. BJP’s Union Ministers are cleaning temples across the country in preparation for the January 22 opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Even cabinet members and BJP leaders in various states are sweeping and mopping temples in the lead-up to the Ram Mandir Utsav. Is this part of a Pran Pratishtha ritual? However, what choice did BJP leaders have when Prime Minister Modi gave the orders? The PM initiated the cleaning campaign by mopping a temple floor in Nashik that was already shining,” the editorial stated.
Taking a dig at Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the editorial suggested that the cleaning focus should be on railway assets and infrastructure, as most trains, platforms, and toilets are ‘dirty.’
“Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited Hanuman Setu Temple in Lucknow for a clean-up job. He visited the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and cleaned the floor. Union Minister Anurag Thakur also visited the Hanuman Temple in (Delhi’s) Connaught Place and picked up the broom to clean the floor. Another Union Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav, too, indulged in a similar clean-up at a temple in Bhubaneswar. However, our Railway Minister should have directed his efforts toward local trains, railway platforms, and toilets as they are very dirty. So the real clean-up job needs to be done at these places. However, he chose to take his eyes off the railway assets that are asking to be cleaned and mopped a temple floor instead,” the editorial read.
Highlighting the sacred significance of a broom in Hinduism, associated with Goddess Lakshmi, the column read, “The broom has a sacred place in the Hindu religion, and the drama around BJP leaders picking up brooms for cleaning temples was nothing but a distasteful act of political posturing with an eye on the Lok Sabha elections. Our Santan culture is clean and transparent. It is about the purity of one’s heart and soul.”
Pakistan Retaliatory Strikes Shake Iran Relations
Reports say that the Pakistan Air Force conducted airstrikes on alleged Baloch separatist camps inside Iran as a retaliation. The strikes targeted hideouts within Iranian territory where Baloch militants, wanted by Pakistan, were believed to be located. This move followed Iran’s claim of using precision missile and drone strikes to destroy two important headquarters of Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) in Pakistan. Pakistan criticized this as a violation of its sovereignty, leading to retaliatory actions.
Salman Masood, editor of a local Pakistani daily, shared on Wednesday that Pakistan Air Force targeted Baloch separatist camps inside Iran, responding to Iran’s claim of targeting militants within Pakistani territory. Another Pakistani daily also reported that hideouts of Baloch militants wanted by Pakistan were hit in Iran.
Pakistan’s caretaker Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani, expressed strong condemnation, stating that Iran’s attack on January 16 inside Pakistani territory breached sovereignty and violated international law. This incident strained bilateral ties between the two countries.
Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister, Anwar ul-Haq Kakar, met Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, at the World Economic Forum. Around the same time, Iran announced strikes on Jaish Al Adl bases inside Pakistan through drone and missile attacks.
Jaish al-Adl, labeled a terrorist organization by Iran, is a Sunni group operating in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchistan province. It has carried out several attacks on Iranian security forces. In December, Jaish al-Adl claimed responsibility for an attack in Sistan-Balochistan that killed at least 11 police personnel.
Iran’s recent missile strikes in northern Iraq and Syria were defended by its foreign ministry as a precise and targeted operation against security threats. The strikes targeted a “terrorist headquarters” in Idlib, Syria, and a “Mossad-affiliated center” in Erbil, Iraq, according to Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani. The operation aimed to deter security threats, using ballistic missiles for precise strikes on criminal headquarters.
