Prabhas‘ upcoming film Salaar is seeing great bookings outside of India. Directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, the movie promises to be a mass entertainer. It recently passed censorship with an A certificate, only the second Prabhas film to receive one after Mirchi.
In an interview, producer Vijay Kiragandur revealed that the December 22nd release date was chosen based on astrological factors. He explained that they have certain beliefs they follow, which is why they resisted pressure to release earlier despite knowing about the releases of Dunki and Aquaman on the previous day.
Kiragandur also explained that post-production delays on Salaar prevented a September 28th release. They explored various dates until May 2024 before settling on December 22nd as the ideal choice. Additionally, the Christmas and New Year season was seen as a time when more people would be likely to visit theaters.
Overall, Salaar is generating excitement both in India and internationally. Its A certificate and release date chosen through astrological considerations add to the intrigue surrounding the film.
