Telangana launches India’s first robotics policy framework
Telangana leads the way with the first state robotics framework, aimed at establishing a sustainable robotics ecosystem and positioning the state as a leader in innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and development.
The Minister of Information Technology and Industries, The robotics framework was launched by K.T. Rama Rao, the Information Technology and Industries Minister, as the sixth framework by the Emerging Technologies Wing of the ITE&C Department.
The minister emphasized that Telangana has always recognized the significant role of technology in the development of a state and has prioritized the adoption of the latest technological advancements to encourage innovation.
Telangana established the Emerging Technologies Wing in 2017 to drive ecosystem development and government adoption of emerging technologies such as AI, Blockchain, Drones, Additive Manufacturing, IoT, Space Tech, Cloud, and Robotics.
Telangana has already released 5 policy frameworks on AI, Cloud, Blockchain, Drone, and SpaceTech, making it a pioneer in adopting emerging technologies and a role model for other states, according to the minister.
In collaboration with the All India Robotics Association, academia, industry experts, and stakeholders, the Emerging Technologies Wing has developed a comprehensive roadmap, the robotics framework, to promote the growth of the robotics industry in the state and contribute to the development of the industry in the country.
The framework aims to utilize robotics technology to promote growth and development in four domains – agriculture, healthcare, industrial automation, and consumer robotics.
One of the main aspects of the framework is the establishment of a Robo Park that will provide testing facilities, co-working spaces, and manufacturing options in partnership with industry, academia, and incubators, either on state-owned sites or at competitive rates.
A world-class robotics accelerator will also be established in the state, providing startups with the necessary incubation, infrastructure, authorization support, market insights, investor connections, and mentorship support.
The government has identified five key pillars to achieve the vision of the framework, including infrastructure access, business enablement, fostering research and innovation, human capital enhancement, and responsible deployment.
A separate entity named Telangana Robotics Innovation Center (TRIC) will be established by the state to oversee the implementation of the framework and act as a nodal point for executing the key pillars outlined in the framework.
MoUs have been signed between the Telangana state government and five organizations, namely IIT Hyderabad, ART PARK IISC, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), AgHub (PJTSAU), and the All India Robotics Association (AIRA). The signed MoUs include academic institutions, industry associations, and incubators.
Telangana aim of Global Robotics Summit:
Telangana plans to host a Global Robotics Summit to exhibit its developing robotics ecosystem and draw investments worldwide. The summit will enable researchers, startups, and industry leaders to display their innovations, establish connections with potential partners and investors, and explore fresh business prospects.
The occasion also featured speeches by Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of ITE&C and Industries, and Rama Devi Lanka, Director of Emerging Technologies.

Vijay Deverakonda’s VD12 Birthday Poster Creates Buzz on Social Media
The makers of VD12, which was officially launched last week, have unveiled a special surprise for fans on the occasion of Vijay Deverakonda’s birthday. This comes even before the film has gone on floors.
VD12 is an upcoming period drama film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and starring Vijay Deverakonda and Sreeleela in lead roles. The movie is produced jointly by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the banners of Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas.
On Tuesday, to mark Vijay Deverakonda’s birthday, the creators of the upcoming film VD12, which was recently announced, released a special surprise for fans in the form of a vintage-style sepia-toned poster, even before the production had begun.
The birthday poster of Vijay Deverakonda features various pieces of paper that, when assembled together, reveal a partial glimpse of the actor’s look. The poster introduces his look through an intense black-and-white portrait that captures his striking expressions.
The poster also includes a quote from an anonymous spy, “I don’t know where I belong, to tell you whom I betrayed,” adding to the intrigue surrounding the film. Director Gowtam Tinnanuri shared the poster on Vijay Deverakonda’s birthday, wishing him success and love, and expressing hope that their upcoming film “Kushi” would be a blockbuster.

Overall connected vehicle tech grows 60% in India
Connected Vehicle (CV) Technology
India’s overall connected vehicle (CV) technology grew more than 60 percent (on-year) in the first quarter of this year, with the electric vehicle (EV) market showing stupendous growth by 48 percent YoY, a report showed on Tuesday.
The connected 2-wheeler (C2W) vehicles grew around 92 percent YoY, with its market share increasing to nearly 60 percent, according to data from market research firm CMR.
The electric 2-wheeler (E2W) market grew by 44 percent YoY. The electric 3-wheeler (E3W) market grew steadily covering around 50 percent share within the segment.
“There is growing consumer awareness around connected vehicle technologies. For instance, connected vehicle tech has consistently increased its footprint in the industry,” said John Martin, senior analyst, at smart mobility practice, CMR. The advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) adoption grew around 50 percent YoY in Q1 2023.
“With safety becoming a top consumer priority, ADAS feature tech has witnessed gradual adoption, with 70 percent YoY 2023 growth market share of vehicles featuring Level 2 autonomy,” Martin added. The electric passenger vehicle (EPV) segment grew over 114 percent YoY in Q1 in India.
Connected features in the passenger vehicle (PV) segment have been grabbing the market fast with 56 percent growth, of which, around 58 percent of the connected passenger vehicle (CPV) market share is driven by conventional powertrains.
By Q1 2025, the EV market share in India is expected to surpass 24 percent, while connected vehicles are projected to account for over 30 percent of the market.
“By 2025-26, connected and software-driven vehicles will be key revenue drivers for the automotive industries,” said Martin.

‘Kantara 2’ script locked, fans eagerly awaiting
Sources close to Rishab Shetty, the director and lead actor of the pan-India superhit movie ‘Kantara’, have confirmed that the script for the ‘2 series’ has been finalized and an official announcement is expected soon.
After the successful 100-day celebration of ‘film’, its production company Hombale Films announced the making of the sequel. The script work for the ‘2 series’ began in March.
Sources reported that producer Vijay Kiragandur and actor-director Rishab Shetty are pleased with the final touches given to the script for the sequel of ‘Film-1’ by the team.

Under-16 cricketers interact with Rishabh Pant
India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, who is recovering from the injuries sustained from his accident, interacted with Under-16 cricketers at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted photos from the session and thanked the star player for his time.
“The boys who are part of the Under-16 high-performance camp at NCA Bangalore had the opportunity to interact with Rishabh Pant on cricket, life, hard work, and much much more. It was very generous of Rishabh Pant to spare time for interacting with these young boys,” BCCI tweeted on Tuesday morning.
The wicket-keeper batter has been posting regular videos of his recovery and even showed that he is able to walk unassisted.
He has had several surgeries since his accident, with one of the more significant ones taking place in Mumbai to cure the ligament damage on the right knee.

Microsoft-owned LinkedIn has laid off 716 employees, as the company makes changes to its Global Business Organisation (GBO), along with shutting down its InCareer app in China.
The company’s CEO Ryan Roslansky said in an email to employees that the move was aimed at streamlining the company’s operations.
“As we guide LinkedIn through this rapidly changing landscape, we are making changes to our Global Business Organization (GBO) and our China strategy that will result in a reduction of roles for 716 employees,” he wrote late on Monday.
“If your role is directly impacted by this decision, you will receive a calendar invitation within the next hour for a meeting with a leader from your team and a representative from our GTO,” he added. He admitted that while the platform is making meaningful progress in creating economic opportunities for its members and customers and experiencing record engagement on the platform, “we’re also seeing shifts in customer behavior and slower revenue growth”.
“In an evolving market, we must continuously have the conviction to adapt our strategy in order to make our vision a reality,” said the CEO. LinkedIn saw record engagement in the March quarter as more than 930 million members globally now turn to the professional social network to connect, learn, sell, and get hired.
The LinkedIn revenue increased 8 percent in the March quarter for the tech giant. In 2016, Microsoft acquired LinkedIn for more than $26 billion. The company was also in the process of discontinuing product and engineering teams in China and the downsizing of corporate, sales, and marketing functions.
Roslansky said that they will focus China’s strategy on assisting companies operating in China to hire, market, and train abroad. “As we plan for FY24, we’re expecting the macro environment to remain challenging. We’re adapting as we have done this year and will continue to operate with the ambition we need to deliver on our vision and the pragmatism required to run the business well,” said the CEO.

Balaji Telefilms Limited and Anil Kapoor Film Communication Network are the production houses behind the upcoming film, which is yet to be titled.
They have previously collaborated on the 2018 hit film ‘Veere Di Wedding,’ which featured Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania.

In their second collaboration, they are working on the upcoming movie ‘The Crew’, featuring Tabu, Kareena, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kriti Sanon. The movie revolves around the journey of three women who strive to move forward and make a living, but their efforts lead them to unexpected and challenging situations, The series of unexpected events lead the characters to get caught in a complex network of lies and deception.
Scheduled to begin by the end of March 2023, the film will be directed by Rajesh Krishnan and co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures Limited and Anil Kapoor Productions.

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza killed 13 Palestinians.
Israeli air strikes that pounded the Gaza Strip
Thirteen people, including three commanders of the Islamic Jihad militant group, were killed and 20 others injured in Israeli air strikes that pounded the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.
Palestinian security officials in Gaza told that the airstrikes hit buildings, military facilities, and posts mainly in the towns of Rafah and Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip and in Gaza City.
An Israeli army spokesman said in a statement that the military launched the military operation “Shield and Arrow” against the Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, which is ongoing.
Confirming the development, the Islamic Jihad’s military wing, the al-Quds Brigades, said three of its commanders were killed, along with their families.
It identified them as Jihad Shaker al-Ghannam, secretary of the al-Quds Brigades’ Military Council; Khalil Salah al-Bahtini, the commander of its Northern Region, and Tariq Muhammad Ezzedine, who it said was “one of the heads of military action” in the occupied West Bank.
“As we mourn our martyr leaders, along with their mujahideen wives and a number of their children, we affirm that the blood of the martyrs will increase our resolve,” the al-Quds Brigades said.
“We will not leave our positions, and the resistance will continue, God willing.”
Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari said the three Islamic Jihad leaders who were killed in the operation were “an undermining factor for security stability”.
The Israeli army also said that according to an assessment of the situation, the military had ordered Israeli residents living close to the Gaza Strip to stay near bomb shelters at a distance of 40 km for fear of rocket fire from Gaza.
Citing possible retaliatory rockets from Gaza, Israel suspended the train service in the southern cities near the besieged enclave.
In many communities, local municipalities opened shelters, and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant authorized a call-up of reserve soldiers.
The health ministry in Gaza said in a statement that the victims also included women and children.
At least 20 other people were injured as the airstrikes hit the top floor of a residential building in Gaza City and a house in Rafah.
The airstrikes came less than a week after over 100 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel following the death of Islamic JIhad official Khader Adnan, who had been on hunger strike for 86 days while under Israeli custody.
The Islamic Jihad is the biggest militant group next to Hamas in Gaza, reports the BBC.
It has been responsible for many of the rocket attacks on Israel from the territory in recent years and is sworn to Israel’s destruction.
