Water from 155 rivers across the globe brought to Ayodhya for Ram Lalla’s ‘Jalabhishek’
Water from 155 rivers from different countries, including Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and China, has reached Ayodhya.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will perform the ‘Jalabhishek’ of Ram Lalla with water from these rivers on April 23.
Delhi BJP leader and former MLA, Vijay Jolly, the person behind the collection of water, said that water has also been brought from countries like Tanzania, Nigeria, America, France, Germany, Britain, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and Bangladesh.
He said water has been brought from Antarctica, which is mostly inaccessible.
As per the schedule, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will worship the ‘jal kalash’ after getting it from the team in a ceremony that is set to be organized on April 23 at Maniram Das Chawni Auditorium here.
The water brought from countries around the world will have stickers bearing the flags of those countries, their names, and the names of rivers.
Envoys from many countries will also participate in the program.
The water from Pakistan was first sent by the Hindus of Pakistan to Dubai and then from Dubai, it was brought to Delhi, from where Jolly brought it to Ayodhya.
Apart from Pakistan, water has also come from the rivers of many other countries, including Suriname, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Canada, and Tibet.

Yogi tweaks Atal scheme to benefit Covid orphans
The Uttar Pradesh government has approved a proposal seeking amendments to the Atal Residential School Scheme to help children affected by Covid-19.
The Atal Residential School Scheme aims to provide quality and free education to children of poor laborers, according to a government press release.
“Now, children who have lost one or both their parents during the Covid-19 pandemic will also be able to benefit. The Women’s Welfare Department will make available the list of such children to us. Under the scheme, free quality residential education from Class 6 to 12 will be made available,” an official said.
In the order issued, it has been mentioned that the amendment in the present system of the Atal Residential School Scheme has been unanimously approved by the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The maintenance and social security of registered construction workers will be fully ensured in the interest of eligible construction workers, an official said.
The eligibility conditions of the scheme have also been amended.
Admission will be given only to the children of the registered construction workers who have completed at least three years of membership of the board after registration.
Earlier this period was kept only for one year.
However, the eligibility of a maximum of two children of the registered working family to study in the school remains the same as before.
Every year the admission of children of construction workers and the children eligible for the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana will be made on the basis of the procedure laid down by the Atal Residential School Committee.
“The state government will make the payment of expenses related to destitute children and children eligible for the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana (general) to the Atal Residential School Committee, through which funds will be provided to the schools. For this, the Atal Residential School Committee will have to operate a separate account.
“Under the scheme, the same rule was prescribed earlier for orphans as well, but now the names of destitute children and children eligible for Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana have been added,” an official said.

Elon Musk removes all legacy Blue ticks, allows some celebrities to retain
Chaos prevailed on Twitter on Friday when Elon Musk finally removed all legacy verified accounts with Blue check marks but allowed some celebrities to retain them.
In India, one has to shell out Rs 900 a month (or Rs 9,400 a year) to get Blue Verified status.
As more than 4 lakh legacy verified users bid goodbye to the Blue check marks, some celebrities have been offered a complimentary Twitter Blue subscription “on behalf of Musk”.
“I am paying for a few personally,” said Musk. “Just William Shatner, LeBron James, and Stephen King,” he added.
Stephen King tweeted: “My Twitter account says I’ve subscribed to Twitter Blue. I haven’t. My Twitter account says I’ve given a phone number. I haven’t”.
Musk replied: “You’re welcome namaste.”
The Pope got downgraded along with Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, and Oprah Winfrey.
Rihanna and Taylor Swift still had Blue ticks but it was not sure if they bought them or if Musk allowed those to remain.
“Me joining you all tomorrow unverified,” tweeted actress Halle Berry, indicating she is not going to pay Musk for the Blue badge.
Many other NBA players, like Stephen Curry, Zion Williamson, and Ja Morant also lost their blue checks.

Bitcoin’s value drops below $28,000.
Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization, experienced a decline in its value over the past two days, falling below $28,000 on Thursday. According to CoinDesk market data, Bitcoin was trading at approximately $28,325, representing a 2.7% decline over the last 24 hours. TradingView data showed that the BTC/USD trading pair on Coinbase fell to $27,991 just before U.S. equity markets closed, but it later rebounded. Senior market analyst for foreign exchange market maker Oanda, Edward Moya, attributed Bitcoin’s recent decline to a statement made by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong regarding the exchange’s potential departure from the United States.
Moya noted that if Coinbase were to leave the U.S. market, many U.S. traders would likely follow, reducing the size of the global crypto market. Moya added that Bitcoin would struggle until regulatory clarity is achieved, and prices are expected to decrease. The second-largest cryptocurrency by market value, Ether, also experienced a decline, dropping almost a percentage point to trade at around $1,948. ETH fell to $1,917 at one point, representing its lowest level in a week. For the past seven days, both BTC and ETH have been down 7% and 3%, respectively. Most other major tokens were also trading in the red, with XRP and Litecoin (LTC) falling over 5%. The CoinDesk Market Index (CMI), which measures the overall performance of the crypto market, fell 3.9% on the day.

IPL 2023: Bowlers, Warner guide Delhi Capitals to 4-wicket win over KKR
An impressive show by bowlers followed by skipper David Warner’s vital fifty (57 off 41) guided Delhi Capitals to their first win of the season, beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by four wickets in a rain-delayed IPL 2023 match at Arun Jaitley Stadium, here on Thursday.
On the back of Axar Patel (2/13), Kuldeep Yadav (2/15) Ishant Sharma (2/19) and Anrich Nortje’s (2/20) superb show, DC bowled out KKR for a paltry 127 in 20 overs. Jason Roy’s gritty innings of 43 off 39 and Andre Russell’s 38 not out off 31 were the saving grace for KKR, who lost wickets at regular intervals.
In reply, Warner gave DC a brilliant start, then KKR spinners turned the tables in the middle overs but eventually the hosts sealed the win with three balls to spare to open their account.
Chasing 128, Delhi was off to a strong start with skipper David Warner hitting 10 boundaries out of 12 in the powerplay. Varun Chakravarthy drew the first blood for KKR in the fifth over, trapping Prithvi Shaw for 13. Thanks to Warner’s hits, DC posted 61/1 in the powerplay.
After a strong start, DC suffered a slump in run rate as they scored 43 runs for the loss of three wickets in the middle overs. After Anukul Roy’s economical over with just one run coming off the seventh over, KKR captain Nitish Rana removed Mitchell Marsh cheaply for 2 in the next over. Roy then joined the party as he dismissed Philip Salt for 5 in the ninth over.
Meanwhile, Warner brought up his fourth fifty of the season with a boundary off the bowling of Roy in the 11th over. A couple of overs later, Chakaravarthy bowled a maiden 14th over with a big wicket of set batter Warner, bringing an end to his 57-run innings.
Axar Patel and Manish Pandey smashed two boundaries, taking 11 runs off the 15th over and bringing the equation to 30 off the last four overs. Then, DC lost two wickets in quick succession and the momentum shifted a little bit toward KKR.
Roy came into the attack in the 16th over, after a couple of wides, and a single, he claimed his second as he sent Pandey back to the hut for 21. Then, Rana cleaned up Aman Hakim Khan for a duck.
When 15 needed off 18, Axar survived an lbw twice against Chakravarthy, who gave away just three runs in the 18 over and the equation reached 12 off 12. Axar got lucky for the third time as survived a stumping from Liton Das in the penultimate over as he danced down and missed the line. The keeper whipped the bails off but he was back.
With 7 needed to win, Axar started the final over with a double. On the next ball, he got two more on a no-ball. Axar then lofted between long-on and deep midwicket and collected two runs to seal the win for Delhi with three balls to spare.
Earlier, put into bat first, KKR lost three wickets within the powerplay. Ishant Sharma began the attack well, giving away just five runs off the opening over.
After conceding two boundaries to Jason Roy in the second over, Mukesh Kumar ended the over with a wicket of Liton Das, who went for a hook but got the top edge towards the square leg and the fielder pouched it with ease.
An over later, Anrich Nortje sent last-match centurion Venkatesh Iyer back to the pavilion early for a duck. Then, Ishant dismissed skipper Nitish Rana cheaply for four and KKR ended the powerplay at 33/3, the lowest score in the first six overs this season.
After Marsh missed a caught bold opportunity in the eighth over to dismiss Jason Roy, Axar Patel got Mandeep Singh in the next over. Halfway through the innings, KKR was 64/4.
Axar struck again In the 11 over as he claimed the big wicket of in-form batter Rinku Singh, who swept towards the deep square leg where Lalit Yadav did the rest. Ishant continued to pile the miseries as he dismissed Sunil Narine for 4, leaving KKR to 70-6 in 12 overs.
The wickets fell at regular intervals and pressure kept building on KKR with dot bowls, but Jason Roy stood firm to provide some pace to the innings before he fell to Kuldeep Yadav in the 15th over for 43. Kuldeep picked up his second on the very next ball, trapping impact player Anukul Roy in his googly. Then, Nortje got Umesh Yadav in the 16th over, reducing KKR to 96-9.
Meanwhile, Russell smashed straight onto Nortje’s ankle in the 18th over and the pacer seemed in pain. He was attended by the physios on the ground and completed his over.
Andre Russell hit back-to-back sixes in the last over bowled by Mukesh and got a few extras for KKR to fight. Russell went for a double in the last ball of the innings but Varun Chakravarthy got run out as KKR were bowled out for 127/10.

Agra: Man seeks Rs 1 crore compensation from hotel for serving wrong meal
A guest at a hotel here has sought Rs one crore as compensation from the hotel for serving him a non-vegetarian meal while he is a vegetarian.
He said that the non-vegetarian food not only hurt his religious sentiments but also put his life in danger.
According to the sources, the hotel, which belongs to a reputed international chain of luxury hotels, served a guest non-vegetarian food instead of vegetarian food as was ordered.
When the guest realized that he had eaten non-vegetarian food, he claimed that his health had deteriorated and he had to be admitted to a hospital.
The man, identified as Arpit Gupta, has now threatened legal action against the hotel. The demand for compensation of Rs 1 crore was made through a notice sent by him to the hotel management.
Gupta’s lawyer Narottam Singh said that his client had gone to the hotel situated on Fatehabad Road in Agra on April 14 with his friend Sunny Garg. Gupta placed an order for a vegetarian roll. When the food item was served and he started eating it, Gupta realized that the taste was different. When he asked the hotel staff, he came to know that he had been served a chicken roll.
Gupta, who is a vegetarian, began vomiting after realizing that he had consumed chicken and had to be admitted to a hospital as his health deteriorated, the lawyer claimed.
Singh further claimed that the hotel did not even provide a bill for the meal in order to conceal its error. His client, on the other hand, had recorded the entire episode on his phone. He stated that a simple apology from the hotel was insufficient and that his client desired strict action against the hotel for hurting his religious sentiments.
The hotel administration, on the other hand, believes “it was a mistake” and has already apologized to Gupta.
Legal expert Ashok Gupta said that in such circumstances, a case can be registered under the sections of hurting religious sensibilities, Food Safety Act, and serving contaminated food.
It has a provision for prison terms ranging from three to ten years.
IPL 2023: Tim Cook spotted at DC vs KKR match after Apple store launch in Delhi
Apple CEO Tim Cook was seen enjoying some cricketing action as he was spotted in the stands during Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) IPL 2023 match at Arun Jaitley stadium, here on Thursday.
Cook made a surprise appearance in the stadium after inaugurating the Apple store in the national capital. He was seen alongside Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla and the dignitaries and officials of the Delhi & District Cricket Association.
The Apple CEO is in India for the opening of the Apple store in the country. Prior to Delhi, Cook launched India’s first Apple store at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai a couple of days ago.
After the opening of the country’s second Apple store, Cook also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the match front, DC bowlers produced a disciplined performance in a rain-delayed game as only three KKR batters managed to touch the double-digit mark in the first innings.
