Ranbir Kapoor expresses wish to work with Kriti Sanon

0

Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is keen on working opposite actress Kriti Sanon.

During the promotions of his recent film, ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’, Ranbir Kapoor was questioned about which actor and actress he would like to work with next.

To this, the actor mentioned Kriti’s name as one actress he really wants to work with.

‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ is directed by Luv Ranjan. It stars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in their first film together, with Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia, and Boney Kapoor in pivotal supporting roles.

The film was shot extensively in Delhi, Mumbai, Spain, and Mauritius.

On the work front, Kriti is gearing up for two mega releases — ‘Adipurush’ opposite Prabhas and ‘Ganapath’ opposite Tiger Shroff. She also has ‘The Crew’ and an untitled film with Shahid Kapoor in the pipeline.

Charges on Skill Development project baseless: says TDP

Andhra Pradesh’s main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has said that the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led state government is leveling baseless charges against the earlier TDP regime with regard to the Skill Development project.

TDP MLA and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Payyavula Kesav announced that his party will wage a legal battle to bring the facts to light.

Kesav asked whether the Crime Investigation Department (CID), which is claiming that funds have been deposited with the accounts of the TDP leaders, can give the details to whose accounts the funds were deposited, when, and from where.

Claiming that the project was aimed at paving a bright future for the youth, he alleged that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy destroyed it and is shamelessly making baseless charges against the TDP.

“If Siemens organization commits a mistake how the former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, is responsible for that,” Kesav asked and pointed out that the same Siemens organization had entered into agreements with six state governments before signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh.

“Are the chief ministers of all these six States partners in this corruption charge?” he questioned the Jagan Government.

It is almost four years since Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power why all these years he is keeping silent and why the Chief Minister could not decide anything on this matter, Kesav asked.

Chandrababu Naidu had transformed Hyderabad city into an IT Hub and after the bifurcation, he also wanted to provide better job opportunities to the youth and thus the TDP government entered into an agreement with the Siemens organization, he added.

Referring to a report that the chairman of Siemens, Suman Bose, had benefited some politicians, Kesav asked in which way it is related to Chandrababu.

Siemens is a German-based company and it has offices in over 160 countries.

After learning that it is training the youth in Gujarat and after studying its activities, Chandrababu signed the MoU with the company, Kesav explained.

Stating that a document relating to Siemens is being produced before the public, he said Jagan, his Ministers besides the other ruling party leaders should respond after going through the paper.

The agreement entered into with Siemens clearly defined what it should do and what its sister concern, Design Tech should do, he stated.

Sending a strong warning to the ruling party leaders that they will have to pay a very heavy price if they make baseless charges and spread cooked-up stories against the TDP, Kesav felt that the YSRCP has brought onto the scene the Skill Development project issue only to divert the public attention from the ongoing investigation into the murder of Vivekananda Reddy, the paternal uncle of Jagan.

The Chief Minister is now worried as the YSRCP MP, Avinash Reddy, was summoned by the CBI in the case and thus leveling such charges against the TDP to divert the public and media attention, Kesav observed.

BJP getting rattled by series of lectures: Tharoor & Gogoi defend Rahul

The Congress on Thursday while defending Rahul Gandhi’s lectures in the UK attacked the BJP, saying that the party was rattled.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said, “It is embarrassing to see the entire BJP machinery including senior ministers, media channels, and unofficial spokespersons getting rattled by a series of lectures by @RahulGandhi. All the Indians living in the UK who have attended these events have been extremely positive.”

The BJP has continued its attack on Rahul Gandhi while Congress has defended his statement on every issue.

Shashi Tharoor has too defended Rahul Gandhi’s statement on foreign policy, “What’s wrong w/what @rahulGandhi said? That foreign policy must serve national self-interest; our overriding priority is the domestic transformation the nation is undergoing, so our foreign policy should support that. That’s essentially one of my own arguments in “Pax Indica”,” he said in a tweet.

Ravi Shankar Prasad slammed Rahul Gandhi during a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, had said, “What happens to you when you visit abroad? All dignity, all decency, democratic shame, you forget everything. Now, when the people of the country neither listen to you nor understand you, you go abroad and lament that India’s democracy is in danger.

Prasad further stated, “Rahul Gandhi is saying that speaking is not allowed in India but he kept on speaking a lot in Bharat Jodo Yatra, abusing the PM. He gave a long speech in the Parliament itself. Now, what can be done in this that the people of India neither listen to him nor understand him.”

During his recent visit to London, Rahul Gandhi said at an event that the “US and Europe are not doing enough to restore democracy in India” as they are “getting trade and money” from the country.

Trinamool to raise LIC, SBI and cooking gas price hike issues in Parliament

Trinamool Congress is all set to corner the Centre in the upcoming Parliament session on several issues, including investments by SBI and LIC in private entities besides the recent hike in the cooking gas price.

According to sources, the decision was taken at a closed-door meeting here on Wednesday evening. Chaired by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the meeting saw participation of the party’s national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, and the party leaders in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha — Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Derek O’Brien.

Although there was no official briefing on the proceedings of the meeting, one of the party Lok Sabha members said on condition of anonymity that the chief minister directed the party leaders in both houses to brief the respective MPs to debate on investments made by LIC and SBI in private entities.

“The second major issue that we have been asked to focus on during the three-day Parliament session that gets underway on March 13, is how the Union government arbitrarily resorted to hiking the price of cooking gas immediately after the polls for the three northeastern states of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland,” the Lok Sabha member added.

If time and situation permit, he added, the party MPs have also been asked to be vocal on other issues like denial of central dues to the state government and purported actions of the Union government that are contrary to the federal democratic system of the country. “The Women’s Reservation Bill is yet another issue that we have been asked to raise,” the party MP said.

However, Chief Minister Banerjee has given strict instructions to the party MPs not to voluntarily raise the issue of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) taking Anubrata Mondol to New Delhi in connection to the cattle-smuggling scam.

Sources said that the party leadership has for the time being decided to take a low-key approach in the matter, at least in the public domain.

A sparkling start to women’s franchise cricket in India

0

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should be complimented in organizing the Women’s Premier League. It was inaugurated by some dance sequences by young Bollywood stars, however, it sparkled through a dashing inning played by India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur. This was the ideal beginning to a tournament that could change the face for the betterment of women’s cricket in India, forever.

The WPL being played in the line of the fastest-growing sports event in the world, the Indian Premier League, is a platform that highlights professionalism to the core.

In India, cricket has always had a serious following, however, it was looked upon as just a sport to play and enjoy. ‘Amateur’ was the way in which it was perceived and professionalism came about once it was suitably commercialized. The early days of Indian cricket were a good example of cricketers going to England to play in various club and county leagues to earn money during the Indian off-season.

The great Indian all-rounder, Vinoo Mankad, opted out of an Indian squad that was to tour England in 1952, because of his commitment to play for a club in the then-famous Lancashire League. His retort to everyone was that he needed the money to live.

Fortunately for India, Mankad’s club allowed him to represent India and they were compensated for the matches that he missed while doing so. After a serious and humiliating loss that India suffered at Old Trafford against England, Mankad was recalled to bolster the side. He stood out like a knight in shining armor, through his stupendous feat at the Lord’s by his brilliant performance, the best-ever by an Indian cricketer.

Indian cricket still did not accept professionalism. Russi Surti and Farokh Engineer were both not considered for selection for India’s tour to the West Indies in 1971, solely because they were playing in Australia and England, respectively.

One saw the gradual change of recognition and realization that came about in Indian Men’s cricket. They were seen as professional athletes and were being compensated for their efforts. The multi-media world gave them a stardom image and Indian men’s cricket grew exponentially. It is truly heartening, therefore, to see that the women cricketers too have finally made their mark. However, with such exposure, they need to completely change their mindset and approach to the game.

In the initial matches of the WPL, one can see that apart from a few top Indian players, foreign players are hogging the show. The issue that arises is that as paid professionals, the mental approach to how one plays changes quite significantly. Playing for one’s country, state, or club team is totally different from being paid to play. This is why in the earlier days; male cricketers went overseas to play professional cricket.

Unfortunately, the simplest calculation that arises is the money that one is paid vis-a-vis one’s performance on the field. This brings about a pressure that is quite different from what one normally encounters.

The Indian women players, apart from a few, are still in a nascent stage as regards the game of cricket and their mental approach to it. The system in India has still not been fully put into place to deliver 57 quality players. The 30 foreign players have played franchise-based cricket before and are therefore more well-versed in how to approach their game. This is where many of the young, unknown, and inexperienced Indian players are finding it difficult to cope.

A couple of areas that need significant improvement amongst the Indian cricketers are fitness and fielding. Playing under lights in a stadium full of loud energetic spectators can be quite unnerving. Furthermore, one is also aware of the millions watching one’s every move on the multi-media platforms and this too can be frightening for one not yet at ease with it. One is, therefore, seeing plenty of fumbling while fielding as well as dropped catches. Nerves play a big part in it.

The WPL, like the IPL, will be superb for the growth of women’s cricket in India. Parents, many of them reluctant to let their girls play the game because of various reasons, may look at it as more acceptable. To see one’s daughter or relative on television and earning while doing so, is in itself a wonderful feeling for ones near and dear ones.

The platform is now set for Indian women’s cricket to progress by leaps and bounds. However, there is still a long way ahead for them to reach the quality of cricket which will make them proud. To do so, a proper structure of academies, tournaments, and infrastructure needs to be put in place.

The BCCI has the capabilities and funds to make its dream come true.

The spark that has been ignited in Women’s cricket through WPL needs to light a flame that will keep it burning for years to come. Cricket will now not be called a ‘Gentleman’s game’ but one which is played by ‘Gentleladies’ as well.

WhatsApp rolling out ‘Push name within chat list’ feature on iOS beta

0

Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is rolling out a new “Push name within the chat list” feature on iOS beta.

Beta testers will now see push names within the chat list instead of the phone numbers every time they receive a message from an unknown group member, reports WABetainfo.
This feature will make it easier for the users to understand who the unknown contact is without any need to save the number as a new contact.

It will be useful for participants in large group chats where it is difficult to keep track of who is who.

This feature is currently available for some beta testers that install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and is expected to roll out to more users over the coming days, the report said.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, it was reported that the messaging platform was working on a new feature for the iOS beta which will allow users to set an expiration date for groups.

When this feature will be released, users will be able to choose from various expiration options such as one day, one week, or a custom date.

Turkish women defy ban, stage ‘Feminist Night March’

0

Turkish women have defied a ban on protests and staged an annual march called “Feminist Night March” in Istanbul’s Taksim Square to mark International Women’s Day.

Although the police allowed the protesters on Wednesday night to carry on with their march for a while, later they used tear gas to disperse them, reports the BBC. Several people were also detained.

The women had gathered in the city’s Istiklal Street despite the ban imposed by the Beyoglu district governor’s office for all kinds of demonstrations and marches in the area, including the women’s day march.

Marking International Women’s Day, the main opposition Republican People’s Party earlier in the day released a report said that more than 600 women had been killed in Turkey by men since 2021 when President Recep Tayyip Erdogan withdrew the country from the Istanbul Convention — a treaty that aimed to combat domestic violence.

In a statement titled “we are sorry, we are angry”, the march organizer criticized the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) for failing to handle a range of crises and problems including ongoing economic deterioration, the coronavirus pandemic, the February 6 earthquakes that claimed more than 46,000 lives, and increasing racism and promoting LGBT+ hatred and patriarchy, reports the Turkish Minute news website.

It said that women are determined to continue their fight against patriarchy, homophobia, transphobia, exploitation of labour, and capitalism.

The women at the march also chanted slogans calling on the government to resign.

“We are not going to be silent, we will not be intimidated, and we are not obeying you,” they said.

Every year, thousands of women gather in Taksim Square for the “Feminist Night March”, which marks the continuation of the world-famous “Reclaim the Night” movement, despite bans from authorities and police violence and detention.

EU to deactivate Stability Pact’s general escape clause at end of 2023

0

The general escape clause, which allows the member states of the European Union (EU) to temporarily deviate from parts of the Stability and Growth Pact’s preventive and corrective arm, will be deactivated at the end of 2023, Paolo Gentiloni, European commissioner for the economy, has said.

The clause was activated in March 2020 during the first weeks of the Covid-19 pandemic, Xinhua news agency reported.

“We believe the time has come to confirm the withdrawal of the clause at the end of this year. The European economy has recovered beyond its pre-pandemic level and has overcome the acute phase of the energy price shock,” he said.

According to the European Commission’s Fiscal Policy Guidance for 2024, the clause will be deactivated at the end of 2023. This will lead to the return of country-specific recommendations on fiscal policy for 2024 that will be issued in May.

These will include a quantitative requirement as well as qualitative guidance on investment and energy measures, according to the Commission, and will be consistent with the criteria proposed in the Commission’s orientations, while also remaining consistent with the current legislation under the Stability and Growth Pact.

The EU member states should adjust their fiscal policies to focus on medium-term debt sustainability and on boosting growth in a sustainable and inclusive manner, according to the guidance.

The guidance seeks to inform the EU member states’ preparation of their stability and convergence plans with the aim of keeping their budget deficit below 3 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) over the medium term.

The Commission will continue to emphasize public investment in its country-specific recommendations on fiscal policy. All member states should continue to protect nationally financed investments and ensure the effective use of EU funds, in particular for the green and digital transitions.

The phasing out of energy measures designed to cushion the impact of skyrocketing prices on households and businesses last year is also part of the Fiscal Policy Guidance for 2024. These should be reduced by making them more targeted.

In light of the “persistently high uncertainty for the macroeconomic and budgetary outlook at this juncture”, the Commission considers that a decision on whether to place member states under the excessive deficit procedure should not be taken this spring, but procedures will resume in spring next year on the basis of 2023 data.

65-year-old US man ‘robs’ bank of $1 for imprisonment

0

The Salt Lake City Police Department has confirmed that officers arrested a 65-year-old man accused of robbing a bank in the US city, who reportedly demanded $1 from employees earlier this week “in an attempt to be sent to a prison”.

The man, identified as Donald Santacroce, on Monday entered a bank near 300 South Main Street in Salt Lake City, the capital and most populous city of the western US state of Utah, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the Salt Lake City Police Department.

The suspect demanded money from bank employees and refused to leave the bank. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on one count of robbery, said the department in a news release.

Officials didn’t say how much Santacroce had demanded from bank tellers in the news release.

Santacroce gave a teller a note that stated, “Please pardon me for doing this but this is a robbery. Please give me $1. Thank you”, reported a local news outlet, KSL-TV, citing a police booking affidavit.

The teller gave Santacroce a dollar and then asked him to leave. Santacroce instead told the teller to call the police, the report added.

“Donald said he had done this because he wanted to get arrested and go to federal prison. Donald stated that if he gets out of jail, he will rob another bank and ask for more money next time trying to get the desired result of going to federal prison,” the arrest report states, according to the report.

The Salt Lake City Police Department did not say what the suspect’s motive may have been in the news release.

This is not the first $1 bank robbery in the country. James Verone, an unemployed, uninsured 59-year-old man, robbed a bank in North Carolina of $1 in 2011 to get health care in prison.

In another similar case, a 50-year-old homeless man reportedly robbed a bank in Oregon for $1, then waited for police to arrest him so that he would get medical attention in 2013.

Woman passenger caught smoking on Kolkata-Bengaluru flight, arrested

0

A 24-year-old woman passenger has been arrested after she was found smoking in a lavatory of a Kolkata-Bengaluru flight, officials said. The incident took place on an Indigo flight on March 5.

Alerted by the smell of smoke emanating from the lavatory, the cabin crew forced open the door and found the woman smoking there. She then threw the cigarette in a dustbin, after which the cabin crew poured water on it.

The cabin crew brought the incident to the captain’s notice. The captain filed a complaint about the “undisciplined” passenger.

On landing at Bengaluru airport, the passenger was handed over to airport security who filed a complaint against her. She was arrested by the airport police and charged under Section 336 (the act of rashly and negligently endangering human life or the personal safety of others) of the IPC.

Ponting expects fresh faces in Australian squad for WTC final, Ashes; predicts surprise inclusions

0

Australia legend Ricky Ponting expects to see some different faces in the squad when the Baggy Greens travel to England for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final and the Ashes.

While Australia currently trails India 2-1 and has failed to regain the Border-Gavaskar trophy, they showed plenty of spirits when they registered a comprehensive nine-wicket triumph in Indore Test and secured a place in the WTC final at The Oval in June.

Speaking on the episode of The ICC Review, Ponting expects Australia to take a large contingent of players to Europe for the lengthy two-month tour but thinks it may include some faces that haven’t featured in the India tour.

“Matt Renshaw was picked on this (India) tour because everyone felt he was a good player of spin. Peter Handscomb was picked on this tour to India because he’s a good player of spin bowling. I think you’ve seen that through this series at different times,” Ponting noted.

But when you think about the different set of conditions in the UK, then I wouldn’t be surprised if maybe neither of those guys is on that tour. I think there’s a good chance that Renshaw will be on that tour, but I’m not so sure about Handscomb and if he’ll make it to England or not.”

The former Australian skipper also feels there may be some room for a couple of surprise selections for the England tour, predicting uncapped speedster Lance Morris and promising all-rounder Aaron Hardie may be in contention to make the cut.

“Lance Morris is part of that (India) squad and maybe someone like Aaron Hardie (could be a bolter too),” Ponting suggested. “I actually threw his (Hardie) name up when Cameron Green was going to miss that last Test (against South Africa) in Sydney.

“I threw Aaron Hardie’s name up as an all-rounder, a similar type of player to Green, not as quick with the ball, but a very good batsman who made a brilliant a hundred in the (domestic) Sheffield Shield final last year.

“But his selection might depend on someone like Mitchell Marsh, if he’s back to full fitness, then he’s probably going to find his way on the plane to England as a backup all-rounder for Cameron Green as well,” he added.

Discussing Australia’s performances in India, the two-time World Cup-winning captain said there have been plenty of positives the tourists can take from the series.

“I think all the spinners (have performed well)  and I think at different times, most of the batters have actually shown that they can cope and survive in those conditions,” the former Australia captain said.

“The quicks haven’t had a chance to bowl and Australia have had the guys coming in and out as well. But I think, Usman (Khawaja), Travis (Head), (Marnus) Labuschagne, (Steve) Smith, and then all of the spinners that have played, I think there are some real positives there.

“It’s just a bit of a shame that it’s taken Australia to the start of the third Test match to find the right style of play,” he concluded.

H3N2 Flu cases rise in UP’s Kanpur

0

Nearly 50 patients have been admitted in a day at Hallet Hospital in Kanpur after they complained of high fever, persistent cough, and shortness of breath.

The rising number of H3N2 subtype influenza cases in Kanpur has raised the concerns of health department officials.

There is a long queue of patients not just outside government hospitals, but even private hospitals are also struggling with the same.

Cases with flu-like symptoms, including high fever, persistent cough, and acute respiratory issues, have been reported in Kanpur in large numbers.

The hospital authorities at Hallet were forced to shift patients to different wards after the emergency ward was full.

Dr. Richa Giri, Head of the Medicine Department of Hallet Hospital, said, “Every year due to changes in weather, many such cases are seen, but this time the number of patients is very high.”

Patients are coming to Kanpur from adjoining districts like Aurraiya and Kanpur Dehat.

She said, “In the past 24 hours, only 23-24 patients have been admitted complaining of difficulty in breathing, who are being given oxygen support. Some have been put on ventilators.”

“It is difficult to differentiate this virus from Covid-19 and it is possible only after the test because it is a subtype of influenza A. It becomes difficult to test it because there is a separate kit for each subtype,” she added.

On Women’s Day, Swapna Suresh slams Pinarayi Vijayan

On International Women’s Day, the prime accused in the gold smuggling and the Life Mission bribery cases – Swapna Suresh took to her Facebook to slam Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

“Happy women’s day! I am a woman fighting against the Hon’ble Chief Minister and his family for their illegal activities of selling us Keralites pathetically and for their selfish business empire, but unfortunately, no woman supports me publicly….hehe becoz this ruling party proves that they can give birth to crores of widows or crores of motherless children.

“Honourable CM Happy Women’s Day to you. Please sweeten your mouth tomorrow thinking you have defeated a woman unsuccessfully until now and I will celebrate ‘World Useless Men’s Day’ soon. History will repeat once again.”

Swapna has been going hammer and tongs against Vijayan and his family and even challenged him to file a defamation case or get her arrested for her outbursts.

She has been particularly harsh ever since Vijayan said inside and outside the Assembly that ‘he doesn’t know her’.

She then said she will come out with all evidence regarding their meetings at his office and official residence.

Her latest outbursts come a day after Vijayan’s closest aide — his assistant private secretary C.M. Raveendran — was let off after around 10 hours of questioning in the alleged bribery case of Life Mission by the Enforcement Directorate at Kochi. And, on Wednesday he appeared again before the ED officers.

Vijayan’s former principal secretary and now retired top IAS official M. Sivasankar is presently in jail in connection with the Life Mission case.

WhatsApp working on new ‘text editor’ for iOS beta

0

Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new text editor for its drawing tool, for iOS beta.

The new text editor will allow users to easily switch between different fonts by simply tapping one of the font options available above the keyboard, reports WABetaInfo.

However, it is already possible to change the text font, but the new interface will make it easier for users to quickly choose the font they want.

Also, it will be possible to change text alignment to the left, center, or right, which will give users more control over formatting their text within images, videos, and GIFs.

With the new text editor, users will also be able to change the text background color.

New fonts will be available when the revamped text editor will be released to some beta testers.

The new text editor is currently under development and is expected to be released in a future update of the application, the report said.

In January this year, it was reported that the messaging platform was working on this new text editor for Android beta.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, WhatsApp was reportedly working on a new feature for iOS beta which will allow users to set an expiration date for groups.

Sharmila detained in Hyderabad during protest on women’s day

Hyderabad Police on Wednesday detained YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) leader Y.S Sharmila when she staged a silent protest against atrocities on women.

Sharmila was leading the protest at the Rani Rudrama Devi statue located on the Tankbund road to commemorate International Women’s Day.

Talking to media persons, she said that Telangana has turned into a place filled with landmines for women under KCR’s rule. She further said the state now has the dubious record of registering the most number of rapes and kidnapping cases against women.

“The state has turned into a fill of land mines for women, planted in the form of crimes and atrocities. One never knows when they explode,” she said.

Sharmila stated that for Chief Minister KCR only his daughter represents women and she has put the women to shame and disgrace by being caught in a liquor scam.

Stating that women’s representation in KCR’s cabinet itself is dismal, she said Kavitha has no moral right to fight in Delhi on women’s representation because her father himself had not kept the word.

The YSRTP leader alleged that the BRS leaders are engaged in crimes against women. She said the constituency being represented by industries minister K. T. Rama Rao witnessed rapes against minors. “Hyderabad sees rapes in broad daylight. Dalit women are assaulted and killed in lockups but KCR won’t say a word. His assurances for women are fake,” she said.

She said even the Governor was not spared and foul language used against her by an MLC made way for his elevation as the government whip in the Legislative Council. “Even I was not spared as a woman and they hurled choicest abuses against me when I exposed their failures,” she said.

Sharmila wanted to know where was the Bharosa app flaunted by KTR. “I checked myself and it’s defunct. The State Women’s Commission is a dummy,” he said.

She called zero-interest loans, women’s business hubs, and industrial areas all fake promises. She said that even government schools and colleges have no toilet facilities for girl students.

TN is the safest state for women: CM Stalin

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said that the state was the safest state for women in the country. He was delivering a talk at the Ethiraj college for women during the International Women’s Day celebrations.

He said that women are the most admired people in the world and added that the Dravidian movement has played a significant role in women’s empowerment.

Stalin said that the celebration of women’s day is most valuable and important for humanity and human rights. He added that by celebrating women, the nation was celebrated.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister praised Kannagi for questioning the Pandya king and added that later cultural invasion has led to such women refraining from making such statements.

Stalin said that the free bus concession is a right of every woman of the state and added that his government would ensure that women are supported by all means in the state. He also said that stringent action would be taken against anyone who insults women.
