K’taka BJP slams Siddaramaiah over comment against Amit Shah

Karnataka’s BJP unit on Saturday slammed opposition leader Siddaramaiah’s comment that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is a “political businessman who has put up the Chief Minister’s post for sale for Rs 2,000 crore”, saying that no post is for sale in the saffron party.

Taking to social media a day after his remark, the party’s state unit said that “if lies are told a hundred times, it will not become the truth. You have put tickets (for elections) for sale for candidates. It is natural for you to imagine”.

“The CAG report maintains that for Rs 35,000 crore money that has been spent during the tenure of your government there are no accounts. Siddaramaiah has not bothered to answer this to date.

“Your (Siddaramaiah) courage must be appreciated. You disappeared when the PMO asked for evidence for your charges. You ducked the directions from the court to submit evidence.

“You have swallowed Rs 68.8 crores in the name of modernization of police forces. You are disturbed by the visit of Amit Shah and again playing the same tune and making commission allegations. Mr. Siddaramaiah you can’t fool people,” the party noted.

The BJP went on to say that “your government released Rs 1,43,341 crore for filling up lakes with water in the state. No work was taken up till the end of the tenure of the Congress government”.

“In the name of this project, your colleagues’ pockets were filled with money. Finally, the lakes were filled by the rain… Your government was overthrown by the people for rampant corruption. 7,785 hectares of forests were given away for mining to his own people,” it added

Apple data centre town heating plan may happen after six years

0

Apple data center town heating plan will likely happen after a wait of almost six years, the media reported.

According to 9to5Mac, back in 2017, Apple came up with a plan to boost the environmental friendliness of its then-new Denmark-based data center.

The idea was to harvest excess heat and use it to help warm nearby homes. Apple announced the plan in its 2017 Environmental Responsibility Report.

“We’re currently constructing a new data center running on 100 percent renewable energy in Denmark’s central Jutland region. Due to its proximity to one of Denmark’s largest electrical substations, the data center won’t require backup generators, which typically run on diesel and require periodic testing and burning of fuel,” Apple was quoted as saying.

“The facility is designed to capture excess heat from its equipment and conduct it into the local district heating system to help warm homes in the community,” it added.

Data centers consume a lot of energy and produce a lot of heat. The need to cool the servers and related equipment is one of the reasons for their high power consumption.

However, that plan still hasn’t been implemented, but there is now a lot more interest in the face of massive increases in energy costs, and hopefully, 2023 will be the year, said the report.

Alexandra Daddario goes skinny dipping, says ‘Take a vacation from your problems

‘The White Lotus’ star Alexandra Daddario went skinny dipping on her vacation and shared some steamy pictures on her social media.

The 36-year-old actress took to Instagram on Thursday to share a risque photo of herself wearing absolutely nothing, reports Fox News.

Daddario showed off her fit physique as the sexy snap displayed her bare back to the camera with a thumb covering the lower half of her body.

A beautiful outdoor scene is pictured in the background with mountainous nature views, as the star steps into an infinity pool.

“Take a vacation from your problems, Bob,” her social media caption read. In the second photo, the actress took a dip in the pool and made a splash, keeping her bare back to the camera.

The ‘Percy Jackson star portrayed Rachel Patton in ‘The White Lotus season one – a newlywed who isn’t thrilled in her marriage. The show partially followed the story of her and her overzealous husband checking into a resort for their honeymoon.

Daddario did not appear in season two of the Emmy-nominated HBO series, but she has been keeping busy. She’s landed a role in AMC’s upcoming series ‘Mayfair Witches’.

Tollywood’s first big 2023 release: Chiranjeevi-starrer ‘Waltair Veerayya’ on Jan 13

The first big release of 2023 is ‘Waltair Veerayya’, starring superstars Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja. The action drama is written and directed by Bobby Kolli, with Shruti Haasan and Catherine Tresa as the leading ladies.

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film opens on January 13. The Telugu original and the dubbed Hindi version will be released on the same day with the same title. Grandmaster and B4U will handle the Hindi release.

Producer Naveen Yerneni said: “January 13 is the eve of Sankranti and we are certain that like the kites that you’ll see flying during the festival, our film too will fly high. Chiranjeevi garu ruled the box office with his last film, ‘Godfather’, which did stupendous business. The response to the teaser and the songs has been overwhelming.”

Vikas Sahni from Grandmaster notes that ‘Waltair Veerayya’ is the first big release of 2023 and “we couldn’t be happier than to roll out the Hindi version on the same day.”

He added: “The film has two much-loved superstars and it’s just what the masala movie-going audience would want to start the year with.”

Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Dulquer Salmaan feature in Zee Studios 2023 India slate

Ajith Kumar, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Dulquer Salmaan will be seen featuring in a 28-strong Zee Studios 2023 India slate.

India’s Zee Studios has revealed an extensive 2023 slate of 28 titles across languages, featuring some of the best-known names in their respective industries, reports Variety.

The titles, which include 26 films for theatrical release, a direct-to-digital film, and a streaming series, are Zee Studios productions, coproductions or acquisitions.

Big ticket films include H. Vinoth’s Tamil-language heist thriller ‘Thunivu’, starring megastar Ajith Kumar which is due in January 2023 release during the Pongal festival frame; Amit Sharma’s long-awaited Hindi-language soccer epic ‘Maidaan’, starring Ajay Devgn, due in February.

Farhad Samji’s Hindi-language action-comedy ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, starring superstar Salman Khan, is due in April during the Eid festival frame; and ‘Gadar 2’, a sequel to Anil Sharma’s 2001 blockbuster ‘Gadar’, starring Sunny Deol.

Deol also stars alongside fellow veterans Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, and Jackie Shroff in Vivek Chauhan’s ‘Baap’.

Other Hindi-language highlights include Rani Mukerji in Ashima Chibber’s ‘Mrs. Chatterjee v/s Norway’; Richa Chaddha in Abhishek Acharya’s ‘Covid Stories’; Yami Gautam in Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s streaming-bound ‘Lost’; and Rahul Bose, Ishwak Singh, and Aparshakti Khurana in Atul Sabharwal’s ‘Berlin’.

Also in Hindi, there is a brace of titles from auteur Anurag Kashyap – ‘Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat’ that premiered at Marrakech in November and ‘Kennedy’, starring Sunny Leone, which is bound for an A-list festival in 2023.

Fellow auteur Devashish Makhija’s ‘Joram’ will world premiere at Rotterdam in 2023. It stars Manoj Bajpayee, who also headlines Apoorv Singh Kark’s ‘Bandana’. Nawazuddin Siddiqui essays a transgender role in ‘Haddi’ and also stars in ‘Love is Blind’.

Karishma Kapoor headlines Abhinay Deo’s streaming series ‘Brown’.

Highlights of the Zee Studios Tamil-language slate include Muthaiya’s ‘Kather Basha Endra Muthuramalingam’, starring Arya; a landmark film from a superstar actor, details of which are under wraps; and Kishor Pandurang Belekar’s dialogue-free film ‘Gandhi Talks’, with music by A.R. Rahman, with Tamil cinema stars Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swami and Aditi Rao Hydari.

Dulquer Salmaan headlines Abhilash Joshiy’s Malayalam-language ‘King of Kotha’.

Marathi-language films include Paresh Mokashi’s ‘Vaalavi’, with Swapnil Joshi and Ashish Bende’s ‘Aatma Pamphlet’, while Nagraj Manjule stars in Hemant Awtade’s ‘Ghar Banduk Biryani’ and Vikram Patwardhan’s ‘Frame’.

Jaggesh stars in Kannada-language Ranganayaka’ and in Telugu-language Vimanam’. Zee Studios’ Punjabi-language films include Pankaj Batra’s ‘Uchiyan Ne Gallan Tere Yaar Diyan’ and ‘Godday Godday Chaa’ starring Gippy Grewal and Sonam Bajwa respectively.

Zee Studios was established in 2012 as the content engine for media conglomerate Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, which is in the process of merging with Sony Pictures Networks India, reports Variety.

“As a pan India media company, Zee is a leading broadcaster across geographies and languages. In 2020, the studio’s strategy pivoted to dovetail into the larger organizational play. We were already a leader in Marathi films, we added Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Punjabi into the regional mix.

The initial response has been very encouraging with films like ‘Valimai’ (Tamil), ‘Bangarraju’ (Telugu), ‘Dharamveer’ (Marathi) performing well not just at the box office but also in driving subscriber growth at the OTT [streaming] platform and delivering healthy ratings on television,” Zee Studio’s chief business officer Shariq Patel told Variety. “The strategy remains to make films across languages. We have a mix of tentpole and art house films and each film will have a unique marketing and release plan.”

“I am often asked by directors and producers as to what kind of films I am looking to greenlight at any point in time. My answer is always the same. First I have no idea what will click, in this business no one does, despite claims of knowledge. Secondly, as a studio I have to do it all, so for every ‘Thunivu’ starring Ajith Kumar or a ‘King of Kotha’ with Dulquer, we will have a ‘Mrs. Chatterjee v/s Norway’ with Rani Mukerji or ‘Joram’ with Manoj Bajpayee,” Patel added.

“We need to make it all, we work with Anil Sharma (‘Gadar 2’) and also with Anurag Kashyap (‘Kennedy’). We just have to ensure each film we are working on is budgeted correctly and that the economics make sense. In addition, we also have a series ‘Brown’ directed by Abhinay Deo starring Karisma Kapoor which is in post-production and we propose to make more such premium series in the coming year.”

“We have segmented our films according to size/scale/genre. And each film’s marketing and release strategy is crafted in a unique way. While a majority of them are for Indian theatrical release, we have made conscious investments in a set of films that we hope to take to the world via festivals i.e. ‘Joram’ by Devashish Makhija, ‘Gandhi Talks’, a silent film starring Vijay Sethupathy and Arvind Swami, ‘Kennedy’ by Anurag Kashyap are a few examples. We aspire to establish Zee Studios as the preeminent studio for Indian films,” Patel said.

Zee Studios, which scored one of the biggest 2022 hits with ‘The Kashmir Files’, currently has the Kannada-language film ‘Vedha’, starring Shiva Rajkumar on release.

Will airlift Pant to New Delhi if medically advisable, says DDCA president Rohan Jaitley

0

Injured India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant will be shifted to New Delhi for further treatment, especially for plastic surgery resulting from the burn injuries he suffered in the car accident in which he was involved on Friday morning.

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley said if needed and medically advisable, his organization will airlift Pant from Dehradun to New Delhi for his plastic surgery.

“If medically advisable, we’ll airlift Rishabh Pant to Delhi for plastic surgery. We are in constant touch with Max Hospital Dehradun,” DDCA president Rohan Jaitley told IANS on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the results of Pant’s MRI of the brain and spine are normal, said a medical bulletin, after the cricketer suffered in a serious car accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand on Friday morning.

The 25-year-old has also undergone plastic surgery to manage his facial injuries, lacerated wounds, and abrasions while the MRI scans of his ankle and knee have been postponed till Saturday because of pain and swelling.

Pant has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back,

The accident took place in the early hours of Friday when Pant was driving to Roorkee from Delhi. His car, which was severely damaged in the accident, is reported to have hit the divider on the road and subsequently caught fire on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.

Meanwhile, former India batter and National Cricket Academy chief VVS Laxman has released the photograph of the bus driver who pulled Pant out of the burning car.

“Gratitude to Sushil Kumar, a Haryana Roadways driver who took #RishabhPant away from the burning car, wrapped him with a bedsheet, and called the ambulance. We are very indebted to you for your selfless service, Sushil ji,” Laxman wrote in his tweet on Saturday, calling him a real hero.

Meanwhile, Pant’s India teammates Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Shikhar Dhawan, K.S Bharat, and Deepak Hooda have put out messages wishing speed recovery for Pant, putting out messages on social media.

They were joined by former cricketers Gautam Gambhir, Kevin Pietersen, Virender Sehwag, woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami, and Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra in wishing speedy recovery for the India batter.

Movie stars Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher too visited Max Healthcare Hospital in Dehradun to inquire about his health.

Scientists bounce radio waves off asteroid that just passed Earth

0

A group of researchers has sent radio signals into space with the purpose of bouncing them off a 500-foot asteroid to learn about its interior.

The High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Programme (HAARP), a powerful transmitter in remote Alaska, aimed its antennas at asteroid 2010 XC15, a space rock categorized as a near-Earth potentially hazardous asteroid, to send long wavelength radio signals.

The results of the experiment could aid efforts to defend Earth from larger asteroids that could cause significant damage.

“We will be analyzing the data over the next few weeks and hope to publish the results in the coming months,” said Mark Haynes, lead investigator on the project and a radar systems engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California.

This experiment was the first time an asteroid observation was attempted at such low frequencies.

“This shows the value of HAARP as a potential future research tool for the study of near-Earth objects,” he added.

Several programmes exist to quickly detect asteroids, determine their orbit, and shape and image their surface, either with optical telescopes or the planetary radar of the Deep Space Network, NASA’s network of large and highly sensitive radio antennas in California, Spain, and Australia. Long-wavelength radio signals can reveal the interior of objects.

HAARP, using three powerful generators, began transmitting chirping signals of long wavelengths this week and continued sending them uninterrupted until the scheduled end of the 12-hour experiment.

Data analysis is expected to take several weeks. The experiment also served as a test for probing an asteroid larger than 2010 XC15.

Asteroid Apophis, discovered in 2004, will make its closest approach to Earth on April 13, 2029. It will come within about 20,000 miles of Earth, closer than the many geostationary satellites orbiting the planet.

Meta acquires 3D smart glass maker Luxexcel

0

Meta (formerly Facebook) has acquired the Netherlands-based 3D smart glass maker Luxexcel, as it doubles down on its metaverse dream in 2023.

Luxexcel can integrate the elements needed to create an augmented reality (AR) experience within a prescription lens, such as holographic film and projectors, reports The Verge.

Meta, however, did not disclose the sum it spent on acquiring the company.

“We’re excited that the Luxexcel team has joined Meta, deepening the existing partnership between the two companies,” Meta said in a statement.

Luxexcel’s 3D-printed prescription lenses can be used inside AR glasses.

In 2021, the company partnered with WaveOptics which provides the displays for Snap’s Spectacles.

Meanwhile, Meta has planned to shut down its video calling smart display ‘Portal’ and its two unreleased smartwatches projects, as the company eliminated 11,000 jobs.

At the company’s earnings call, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the new high-end VR headset would deliver high-resolution mixed reality to blend virtual objects into the physical environment around the users.

“Our goal for the Quest Pro line over the next several years was to enable more and more people to get their work done in virtual and mixed reality even better than they could on PCs,” said Zuckerberg.

However, Meta is reportedly struggling to gain and keep users on its social virtual reality (VR) platform called Horizon Worlds — its biggest bet to fulfill its $10 billion metaverse dream.

PAK v NZ: Tim Southee defends his tactics as Black Caps miss a chance in drawn Test

0

New Zealand’s new Test captain Tim Southee has defended his tactics after the Black Caps failed to force victory in the opening Test against Pakistan and had to settle for a draw despite taking a strong position in the match.

New Zealand was unable to bowl out Pakistan on the fifth and final day of the match after getting Imam-ul-Haq, who rescued the hosts from a difficult position with help from wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed (53), out with the hosts leading by just 30 runs and with just three wickets in hand.

Saud Shakeel (55 not out) and No. 9 batter Mohammad Wasim (43) raised 71 runs for the eighth wicket and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam made a sudden declaration to set New Zealand a target of 138 runs.

The visitors eventually could manage to reach 61/1 in 23 overs as bad light forced an early end to the match.

After the match, Southee was asked whether he regretted declaring New Zealand’s first innings at 612-9 after his predecessor Kane Williamson brought up his fifth Test double-hundred on the fourth day.

“I guess in hindsight you’ve got that, but I think we gave ourselves four sessions to bowl Pakistan out and chase down whatever we needed to,” Southee said.

“Kane played extremely well alongside Ish to get us into a position where we could declare. There wasn’t a lot of assistance on the surface for a long time throughout this test match and for us to get into a position after losing the toss, to push for a win I guess we played some great cricket to get to that position.”

New Zealand also dropped a few chances, especially the chance missed by spinner Ajaz Patel, who could not hold a throw from Nehry Nicholls and effect the round out of Mir Hamza during the final session. Pakistan was 280/8 in the 95th over with the lead at 106.

“I wouldn’t say chances slipped away. We had to hang in and take chances. To have lost the toss and have had a chance was pleasing. Late in the third innings, they played nicely. There was a bit of assistance if bowled in the right areas,” Southee said after the match.

“I guess we got ourselves in a position to have won this test match,” the New Zealand skipper acknowledged.

“But Pakistan showed some resistance today and especially in their lower order. The position we got into, it would have been nice to have pushed on and got a win but it’s been a pretty tough five days and there’s a lot of positives we can take out of it,” he was quoted as saying by stuff.com.au.

The second Test starts at the same venue on Monday.

Russia attacks Ukraine with 16 Iran-made drones: Kiev officials

0

Officials in Kiev have claimed that Russia attacked Ukraine with 16 Iran-made drones just a day after Moscow struck cities across the war-torn nation with the latest barrage of missile deemed to be one of the largest since the war began on February 24.

The Ukrainian military said that all of Friday’s drones were destroyed, the BBC reported.

In Kiev, an air alert was announced after 2 a.m. on Friday, and residents were urged to take shelter.

Five of the drones were shot down in the air and two were “on approach”, the BBC quoted Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko as saying.

No one was reported injured in Kiev, but windows in two buildings were damaged, Klitschko added.

A fire was also started by one of the drones in a four-story administrative building, according to the presidential office.

On Thursday, Ukraine’s military said 69 missiles were launched, with air defenses intercepting 54 of them.

According to the Air Force, the attack came from “various directions with air and sea-based cruise missiles”, adding that a number of “kamikaze” drones had also been used.

At least three people were killed and six were wounded, according to Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi.

Dozens of Russian attacks have pounded Ukraine in recent weeks, causing repeated power cuts across the country.

Thursday’s attack came just hours after the Kremlin rejected Ukraine’s suggestion that peace talks could begin in 2023.

Highest-ever arrival of tourists in Himachal to ring in New Year

0

Defying Covid-19 protocols amidst the scare of the new Omicron variant, crowds of holidaymakers have descended onto Himachal Pradesh’s popular tourist resorts Shimla, Narkanda, Dharamsala, Kalpa, Manali, Dalhousie and elsewhere, the highest-ever arrival of tourists in the history, to ring in the New Year with carnivals and musicals amidst a snowy landscape.

After a day of snowfall in Manali, Kalpa, and other destinations on higher reaches, turning them more picturesque, the Met Office in Shimla on Saturday predicted the sun will shine across the state till January 5, 2023.

But the prevailing minimum temperature in most of the places will stay close to sub-zero with chances of dense fog in low hills.

Members of the hospitality industry told Media that most of the hotels across the state have been seeing close to 95 percent occupancy.

An official with the state tourism department advises tourists to get an advance booking of a hotel or a homestay unit before traveling.

By the evening of December 31, he said, the occupancy could reach 100 percent, a record business after the two toughest years ever seen by the travel industry.

“We are expecting to see good business this weekend and next week also seeing the influx of tourist arrival and the booking inquiries we are getting,” Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) Manager Nand Lal, who is posted in Holiday Home hotel here, told Media.

After Kothi and Solang valley received the snowfall, Kullu Police advised motorists not to travel beyond Nehru Kund, 7 km from Manali town, on December 31 as the road beyond is slippery.

“We are advising the motorists, especially the tourists, to park their vehicles at the parking lot in Solang to visit nearby places on foot,” a police official told Media.

On December 29, tourists were stranded in nearly 100 vehicles overnight in the 9.02-km long horseshoe-shaped Atal Tunnel, the world’s longest motorable tunnel, for hours after the onset of heavy snowfall in the region. The local administration had a tough time in rescuing them, a majority of them tourists who were merrymaking and taking selfies amidst the snowy landscape.

With easy access to the picturesque Lahaul Valley, the two-lane Atal Tunnel constructed under the 3,978 metre Rohtang Pass in the Pir Panjal range, some 30 km from Manali, is a memorable ‘tunnel tourisma’ destination.

The tunnel, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 3, 2020, has shortened the distance between Manali and Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti, by 46 km, reducing the travel time by nearly three hours. It has ensured all-weather connectivity too.

According to the state tourism department, more than 20,000 tourists travel through the Atal Tunnel every day during the peak tourist season, and tourism, including skiing, trekking, and paragliding, is a key source of income for the local people.

Manali-based Prem Thakur of The Byke Neelkanth hotel said the tourists from Manali now prefer to travel towards the Lahaul Valley via the Atal Tunnel, rather than taking the long and treacherous route of the Rohtang Pass even when it is opened for traffic.

“Snow is the only attraction for the tourists and the mighty Rohtang Pass is the only destination near Manali that remains marooned in snow cover till the end of May. In this season, when the Rohtang Pass is closed for the traffic, snow-laden slopes along the Atal Tunnel and beyond are their preferred list,” he added.

But a word of caution for the holidaymakers. The police have advised them to follow the protocol as the threat of Covid-19 looming again.

“We are using drones at entry points of Shimla, Parwanoo, and Pandoh for accurate estimation of the number of tourists entering the state,” a police spokesperson told Media.

Anjali Gabba, a senior executive with a Chandigarh-based multinational company, said: “It is really pleasant to be back in the hills of Shimla to ring in the New Year with musical parties.”

Her husband Bikram added: “We have been coming here every winter to enjoy cool sunshine that is missing in the plains owing to foggy weather.”

Tour operators in Shimla have been advising tourists to plan trips to Narkanda to enjoy the snow-laden hills.

Mountain peaks viewed from Shimla, and the Dhauladhar peaks overlooking Tibetan Buddhist leader Dalai Lama’s official palace in McLeodganj near Dharamsala are covered with a fresh white blanket.

Issuing a warning to the hoteliers to follow the standard operating procedures, the police urged the tourists to adhere to the guidelines and wear masks and maintain social distancing.

Himachal Pradesh has no high-end hotels and restaurants in far-off areas. Rural homestays that started in 2008 have been driving tourists to the interiors and that is the best option to stay and enjoy the virgin nature and snowy landscape.

The state’s economy is highly dependent on tourism, besides hydroelectric power and horticulture.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Rishabh Pant’s family and inquired about the health of the India wicketkeeper who met with a car accident in the wee hours of Friday.

The 25-year old cricketer was injured in a serious car accident near Roorkee on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. His car, which was severely damaged in the accident, reportedly hit a road divider before catching fire.

The southpaw was initially taken to a local hospital — Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre — where he was treated for impact injuries before being moved to the Max Hospital in Dehradun.

“The Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri @narendramodi ji called up Rishabh Pant’s family and inquired about his health following his car accident this morning. We thank the Prime Minister for this gesture and his soothing words of assurance,” the BCCI said in a tweet.

The PM also prayed for the good health of the star cricketer.

“Distressed by the accident of noted cricketer Rishabh Pant. I pray for his good health and well-being @RishabhPant17,” Modi said in a tweet.

After the accident, Pant was initially taken to a local hospital — Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre — where he was treated for impact injuries before being moved to the Max Hospital in Dehradun.

The medical bulletin released by the hospital on Friday evening said that Pant’s MRI of the brain and spine returned normal. He has also undergone plastic surgery to manage his facial injuries, lacerated wounds, and abrasions while the MRI scans of his ankle and knee have been postponed till Saturday because of pain and swelling.

The doctors at Max Hospital have also given him “above knee splintage… for suspected right knee ligament injury, and suspected right ankle ligament injury”, adding that Pant is “stable, conscious and oriented”.
