Federer to send ‘rooftop tennis’ sensations to Nadal’s academy

0

Remember the two Italian girls who became an internet sensation after a video of them playing rooftop tennis in the city of Liguria earlier this year went viral?

13-year-old Vittoria and 11-year-old Carola had not expected much when playing on their roofs in April. However, Roger Federer gave them an unexpected surprise last month as the Swiss maestro personally visited them.

Federer, who visited them on July 10, said he was touched by the young Italians’ perseverance during the COVID-19 lockdown.

“Personally for me, that was a very special moment in my career as a tennis player,” Federer was quoted as saying by the ATP Tour website. “To surprise a fan, or children, like I was able to with Carola and Vittoria today.”

Not only did Federer meet them but also he got in on the action, rallying with the girls across the same rooftops.

“It was great. I have played in many cool places around the world. But this is definitely up there for me as a special experience,” the 38-year-old said. “We showed that we can play anywhere and have fun with it. I had the best time, honestly.”

In the video shared by the ATP Tour, Federer revealed he had another surprise for the girls. In partnership with Barilla, he is sending them to the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar for summer camp.

The 38-year-old last played at the 2020 Australian Open where he reached the semi-final and lost in straight sets to eventual champion Novak Djokovic. He later announced that he won’t be taking part in the French Open due to the injuries before the season itself went on an indefinite hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

HP CM reshuffles Cabinet, allocates portfolios to new Ministers

In a first major reshuffle in his government in two-and-a-half years, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has allocated portfolios to three new Ministers, besides changing those of other ministerial colleagues.

The Chief Minister has retained eight departments, including Finance, Home, Tourism, Excise and Taxation, and Public Works.

Veteran legislators Mahender Singh Thakur and Suresh Bhardwaj were given crucial portfolios, while another senior BJP leader Sarween Chaudhary, the lone woman Minister in the Council of Ministers, was divested of the important Urban Development Department, according to a notification issued on Friday night.

First-time Minister Rajiv Saizal, an Ayurveda doctor by profession, was given the crucial Health and Family Welfare portfolio that was earlier with the Chief Minister.

The Urban Development portfolio has now gone to Suresh Bhardwaj, a legislator from Shimla, who will also hold the charge of Parliamentary Affairs.

Chaudhary will now look after Social Justice and Empowerment, a portfolio she held in the previous BJP government led by Prem Kumar Dhumal.

Jal Shakti Minister Mahender Singh Thakur will continue to hold the existing portfolios.

The Transport Ministry was allocated to Bikram Singh, besides the Industries Department.

Another first-timer Minister Govind Singh Thakur was allocated the Education portfolio.

Ram Lal Markanda was given the charge of the Technical Education Department. The Agriculture Department’s charge, earlier with Markanda, has now been handed over to Virender Kanwar, who will continue to hold the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Departments.

The first Cabinet expansion took place a day earlier when Sukh Ram Chaudhary, Rakesh Pathania, and Rajinder Garg, all first-time Ministers, were inducted.

Chaudhary was given the MPP and Power portfolio, and Pathania allocated the Forest Department. Garg was given the charge of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Departments.

Drew Barrymore doesn’t want her kids to act before 14

Actress Drew Barrymore says she doesn’t want her daughters to act until they are older.

The 45-year-old actress began her career when she was just 11 months and worked throughout her childhood.

While speaking to Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell via video chat, she said that she would support Olive, seven, and Frankie, six, if they wanted to follow in her footsteps, but would rather wait until they are at least in their teens before encouraging them to do so, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

“I would be the first person to help them, but not before 14 or 15,” she said.

The star, who has her daughters with ex-husband Will Kopelman, also admitted that her long career has had its ups and downs but she wouldn’t trade her “wonderful baggage” for anything.

She said: “I have all sort of wonderful baggage that I would never let go of or have it any other way because I wouldn’t be exactly who I am at this moment in time without those experiences.”

Meanwhile, the actress recently admitted that she found homeschooling during the coronavirus pandemic to be overwhelming at first.

She said: “Between homeschooling and working, I felt very overwhelmed at first – and I hate feeling overwhelmed. It was weird to be a mum and a teacher and a provider and a friend. I felt sad for a while that I was all I could offer my children. Then I realized that I had to get out of it. I have so much empathy and patience for everyone but myself, it’s sick.”

India smartphone market set to recover by 40% in 2nd half: Report

0

After going through disruptions in supply chain and curtailed domestic production, the Indian smartphone market is now showing encouraging signs of revival that sets it on a potential course for market recovery for over 40 percent in the second half this year, according to a new report.

Over the short-term, the mobile market will improve in mid-Q3, spurred by early online sales festivals, setting the smartphone market on a potential path to recovery towards the all-important festive season.

During this period, smartphone brands will focus on showcasing their consumer-centric value propositions, focusing more on hyperlocal delivery models, and launching more 5G-ready smartphones, according to market research firm CMR’s ‘India Mobile Handset Market Review Report.’

CMR’s current estimates point to better performance for the Indian smartphone market in H2 2020, with the market anticipated to recover by more than 40 percent in comparison to the first half.

“As a consequence of the pandemic, Q2 2020 was, in essence, a lost quarter. While the mobile handset industry faced multiple challenges with respect to their supply and demand-side dynamics, the industry looks set on the path to a potential recovery in the coming months,” said Amit Sharma, Manager-Industry Intelligence Group, CMR.

The initial consumer demand in the unlock phase was driven predominantly through online channels and driven by the need for urgent replacements.

“Facing up to the pandemic, smartphone brands debuted innovative hyperlocal delivery models, some of which have the potential to gain permanence,” Sharma added.

The path to potential recovery will be led by pent-up consumer demand, driven by the need for upgrades.

In the run-up to the festive season, consumers will seek to go for meaningful value propositions that bring devices and compelling content ecosystem offerings, together.

“This, coupled by smartphone brands bringing more value for money offerings and backed by aggressive messaging, will potentially drive the market,” said Sharma.

Thus far, a key challenge for the smartphone market in India to grow has been the inability to offer value propositions that will help feature phone users to migrate to smartphones.

“We believe recent announcements, such as the Jio-Google deal, augur well for the future of the mobile handset industry in India, and in potentially enabling the migration of feature phones to smartphone users, with its focus on driving affordability,” said analyst Anand Priya Singh.

Developing 6th sense key for becoming a successful striker, says Bhutia

0

Former India captain Bhaichung Bhutia feels all strikers need to develop their sixth sense if they are to score regularly.

In a chat with AIFF TV, Bhaichung, the first Indian footballer to have played 100 international matches expressed: “It’s all about that sixth sense. You need to smell it as to where it would become. The best strikers in the world all have that sense. You need to read situations. Unless you don’t develop your sixth sense, you won’t be a successful striker.”

Referring to an anecdote where Sunil Chhetri mentioned that ‘scoring goals was all about life and death for Bhaichung-Bhai,’ Bhaichung who made his international debut at the age of 19, stressed on the importance of “making those runs every time you sense it”.

“Those runs are extremely critical for a striker. I used to keep telling Sunil (Chhetri) that you need to anticipate and make runs from where you can score. If you go wide, you have to dribble and get past the defender, and by the time you turn and get past him, others will also rush in to block you,” he opined.

“Only once or twice out of maybe 10 situations you will get the chance to score. But you need to keep on doing it,” he explained.

“As a striker, you need to have the sense because you only get a fraction of a second to put the ball past the goalkeeper in the net. That is where strikers need to develop technically and mentally,” Bhutia maintained.

“Very often strikers come to me to ask what we can do when we don’t get goals. I only tell them no matter what, you should not stop making those runs. If you don’t score in the first nine times and then give up, you’ll not even be near to the ball in the 10th time,” he averred.

“If you look at Ronaldo and Messi, it’s not always that they dribble past 3-4 defenders. Rather, all big strikers wait for the ball and then touch it. In the end, it’s all about developing that sense, and I repeat unless you keep on making those runs you will never develop that sense.”

Bhaichung even made mention of Rustam Akramov shifting him from a midfielder to a striker. “I was an attacking midfielder and was used to make those runs from behind to get into the box and set myself in a position from where I could score. Those days we weren’t much tactically equipped. Not many people would teach you which position you should play. It was all-natural — that’s how I played,” he quipped.

Apple grows 25% as global smartphone market declines in Q2

0

As the global smartphone market plummeted 14 percent in the June quarter, Apple was the only vendor to grow as it shipped 45.1 million iPhones globally, a growth of 25 percent compared to the previous year, according to a new report.

Samsung fell 30 percent, Huawei 5 percent, Xiaomi 10 percent, OPPO 16 percent, and others 23 percent in terms of shipments in the second quarter, reported market research firm Canalys.

“Apple defied expectations in Q2. Its new iPhone SE was critical in the quarter, accounting for around 28 percent of its global volume, while iPhone 11 remained a strong best-seller at nearly 40 percent,” analyst Vincent Thielke on Friday.

According to him, iPhone SE will remain crucial to propping up the volume this year, amid delays to Apple’s next flagship release.

“In China, it had blockbuster results, growing 35 percent to reach 7.7 million units. It is unusual for Apple’s Q2 shipments to increase sequentially,” said Thielke.

The smartphone market worldwide fell to 285 million units, a second consecutive quarter of freefall, as lockdown orders caused by the Covid-19 pandemic persisted through April and May.

Huawei toppled Samsung with shipping 55.8 million units, compared to Samsung’s 53.7 million in Q2 2020. Apple was third with 45.1 million units.

Xiaomi came fourth, shipping 28.8 million units, which was down 10 percent, and OPPO reclaimed fifth place from Vivo, shipping 25.8 million units with a 16 percent decline.

“As well as the new iPhone SE, Apple is also demonstrating skills in new user acquisition. It adapted quickly to the pandemic, doubling down on the digital customer experience as stay-at-home measures drive more customers to online channels,” said the report.

Sushant’s sister pens open letter to PM, fears evidence tampering

Fearing evidence is being tampered with in the ongoing investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput death case, his sister Shweta Singh Kirti has penned an open letter on Saturday morning to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to intervene.

In her letter, she has also claimed that Sushant did not have a godfather in Bollywood and similarly his family does not have one in life.

Shweta posted the letter on her verified Facebook account. She wrote: “I am the sister of Sushant Singh Rajput and I request an urgent scan of the whole case. We believe in India’s judicial system and expect justice at any cost. @narendramodi @PMOIndia #JusticeForSushant #SatyamevaJayate.”

The letter reads: “Dear sir, Somehow my heart says that you stand with and for the truth. We are from a very simple family. My brother had no godfather when he was in Bollywood nor do we have anyone right now. My request to you is to immediately look into this case and make sure that everything is handled in a sanitized way and no evidence are tampered with. Expecting justice to prevail.”

The open letter to the Prime Minister comes a day after her Facebook post where she shared her late brother’s hand-written plans for himself on a whiteboard, which reveals that the actor was planning to start transcendental meditation from June 29.

The Facebook post on Friday evening shows Sushant was actually planning ahead in life. Shweta shared a photograph of a whiteboard, on which, in Sushant’s handwriting, is a daily to-do list for himself.

The list includes his plans to practice transcendental meditation daily from June 29. Other instructions include “make your bed” after waking up, “read books, watch content movies/series, learn guitar and workout” among other things.

“Bhai’s White Board where he was planning to start his workout and transcendental meditation from 29th June daily. So he was planning ahead. #justiceforsushantsinghrajput,” Shweta had written on Facebook on Friday.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his Mumbai residence on June 14.

Calypso & reggae and not cricket is all that’s left in WI (Column: Close-in)

0

The two most popular sports teams in the world were Brazil in football and the West Indies in cricket. The flair, subtleness, skill and natural talent of their players were what made them special. The artistry and attitude of playing positive even in the direst state got them the adulation and respect in a win as well as in defeat.

The West Indian cricket team was always one that cricketers and lovers of the game around the world followed. The West Indian side of 1960-61 led by Sir Frank Worrell, after a tie in the very first Test, lost the series to Australia narrowly but the cricket that they played had fans honoring them which has never ever been seen before or after. The team was paraded in an open-top bus through the streets of Melbourne with crowds of people bidding them farewell.

Cricket was kept alive by the Calypso kings at a time when the other nations were moving towards professionalism. A defensive approach became then, the model of success not only in a teams’ performance but also in the way in which a cricketer approached the game. Eliminating risks while batting or keeping to a steady line and length while bowling was the way cricket was being popularised.

Cricket gradually became boring and monotonous, whereas, the West Indians still played it in their fun-loving, carefree bohemian manner with music and laughter to follow. Cricket for the Caribbeans was a sport played to enjoy and hence their cricketers were there to give enjoyment to the people who came to watch it.

In the ’70s, the West Indian side became a professional and well-structured unit under the captaincy of Clive Lloyd, who made the skillful geniuses play as one under the West Indian colors. The team went on to become one of the best teams ever to play the game and for a decade remained the champion side of the world.

Cricket lovers around the globe came in droves to watch them unleash their skills and cricket in the Caribbean was at its peak as a sport. The success of West Indies cricket changed the way cricket was being played then. Daring stroke play, lethal fast bowling, and a positive approach to win came into play. Limited-overs cricket accentuated the West Indian approach even further, as power hitting and aggressive stroke play became important. The West Indians, therefore, ruled the cricket turf like never before.

Unfortunately, in the last few decades, West Indies cricket is on a downward slope. Cricket needs the Caribbean flavor to garnish the sport. Some of the West Indian professionals playing the T20 leagues around the world are the most popular players in the franchise-owned teams.

One was, therefore, thrilled and excited when the West Indian side won the first Test match against England in Southampton. They looked a young outfit that played positively and also showed that they had the resilience to fight back when cornered. They performed splendidly and after being 1-0 in a three-match series, one felt confident enough that the West Indian side was back to conquer the world.

The great Brian Lara was very vociferous in his statement before the series that the present West Indian side’s batting is not good enough for a five-day match. The initial victory made one feel that Lara was wrong. However, the subsequent Test matches proved him to be completely right.

Playing a Test series is a very serious matter. Players need to have the stamina and toughness, both physically and mentally to take on the load. The West Indian players had just the right infusion, after their initial win. Rather than carrying on with their positive mindset after their win, they looked to be a side who were complacent with what they had already achieved. They made a common error that teams have made in the past and that is going for a safe approach.

Jason Holder won the toss in both the subsequent matches and rather than batting first put England in to bat. The West Indian star bowler and man of the match of the first Test match, Shannon Gabriel, looked tired and jaded in the second Test match on a wicket where he should have had England in all sorts of trouble. He started off with bowling wides, lacking any rhythm and bowled without putting in any effort.

The other pace bowlers too were not effective and once Dominic Sibley dug himself in and Ben Stokes took control, the rain was the only saving factor in their agenda. This did happen with the third day’s play being washed away, but the mentally battered West Indian side was not good enough to salvage a draw.

A similar performance is what took place in the deciding Test match and the hopes of the revival of calypso cricket diminished radically. One failed to understand that even after a month of serious practice, with no outside distractions due to the restrictions imposed, the West Indian players looked unfit bowling, batting and fielding side.

England, on the other hand, with their newfound battery of fast and good swing bowlers, continued to be a very difficult side to beat at home. They have the best all-rounder in present-day cricket in Stokes, but one still feels their batting is a weak link when exploited under pressure.

However, the beauty of Test cricket is that a team needs to take 20 wickets to win, and therefore, bowling does play a major part if a side has to be consistently victorious. England has shown that they have not only a good front line attack but also an equally good back-up in reserve if needed.

England versus West Indies series was a super start to Test match cricket after the COVID-19 hiatus. However, Calypso and reggae that popularise the Caribbean lifestyle is still flourishing, whereas, their cricket is dancing somewhere way up in the sky.

‘China rocks’ while Americans are entitled, complacent: Elon Musk

0

Hailing the Chinese people as hardworking and smart, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has slammed American workers, calling them entitled and complacent, especially in places like the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York.

Participating in Automotive News’ three-part “Daily Drive” podcast, Musk lamented the working style of people in the US.

When asked about China as an EV strategy leader in the world, the Tesla CEO replied: “China rocks in my opinion. The energy in China is great. People there – there’s like a lot of smart, hard-working people. And they’re really — they’re not entitled, they’re not complacent, whereas I see in the United States increasingly much more complacency and entitlement especially in places like the Bay Area, and L.A. and New York”.

Musk especially criticized New York and California despite these states supporting his businesses, especially Tesla, with considerable tax breaks, regulatory credits, and other government help, reports CNBC.

Last year, Chinese government officials helped Tesla secure loans worth around $1.6 billion to construct and begin manufacturing vehicles at the company’s relatively new Shanghai factory.

This year, the Shanghai government helped Tesla get back to normal operations quickly after the Covid-19 outbreak was controlled in the country.

Musk, however, said that Tesla has not received as much assistance from the government in China as domestic firms.

“They have been supportive. But it would be weird if they were more supportive to a non-Chinese company. They’re not,” he was quoted as saying.

“My advice, you know, to corporate America or companies worldwide is to spend less time on marketing presentations and more time on your product. Put down that spreadsheet and that PowerPoint presentation and go and make your product better,” Musk advised.

The multi-billionaire tech mogul last month hinted at a possible new factory in Asia but that would not be in China this time.

When asked on Twitter about whether Tesla plans to “expand mega factories in Asia outside China”, Musk asserted on a positive note but also said that currently, the company’s priority is to complete the new Tesla Gigafactory in Berlin and another in the US.

Tesla is expanding its Gigafactory Shanghai and adding more production capacity in Gigafactory Nevada and Fremont factory.

According to experts, the company may open the factory in either Japan or South Korea as both have strong existing automotive industries.

The electric vehicle maker is chasing an ambitious target of being able to deliver 1 million electric vehicles per year.

Former England captain Ian Botham to join House of Lords

0

Former England captain Ian Botham is set to join the House of Lords after being awarded a life peerage, the UK government has announced.

According to a BBC report, Botham is among the 36 new peers, who also include former Chancellors Ken Clarke and Philip Hammond announced on Friday. He will sit as a crossbench (independent) peer.

Botham is the first cricketer to be awarded a peerage since Rachael Heyhoe-Flint in 2011, following David Sheppard, Colin Cowdrey, and Learie Constantine as others who have been honored, according to ESPNcricinfo.

The 64-year-old played 102 Test matches for England between 1977 and 1992 and was knighted in 2007, in recognition of his services to charity and cricket. After retirement, he became a commentator and started his own wine label. He has been chairman of Durham since 2017.

In June, Botham had claimed he had contracted the deadly coronavirus at the start of the year which he thought to be was a ‘bad case of flu’.

Apple surpasses Saudi Aramco as world’s most valuable company

0

Riding on strong quarter results despite the pandemic, Apple has surpassed Saudi Aramco to become the world’s most valuable company with a market cap of $1.84 trillion.

The strong earnings report helped Apple shares closed up 10.47 percent on Friday to become the world’s most valuable publicly-traded company, surpassing the largest oil producer, reports CNBC.

Saudi Aramco now trails at $1.76 trillion.

Despite the pandemic that hit its supply chain and forced the iPhone maker to close retail stores worldwide, Apple shares are up more than 44 percent this year.

Apple has posted $59.7 billion in revenue for its fiscal 2020 third quarter that ended June 27, an increase of 11 percent from the year-ago quarter, as iPhone sales beat the Wall Street estimates.

Apple’s board of directors has also approved a four-for-one stock split, effective from August 31.

“Apple’s record June quarter was driven by double-digit growth in both Products and Services and growth in each of our geographic segments,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.

“In uncertain times, this performance is a testament to the important role our products play in our customers’ lives and to Apple’s relentless innovation,” he said in a statement.

The iPhone sales were $26.4 billion, iPad revenue was $6.6 billion while Mac revenue reached $7.1 billion.

Fidel Edwards not to feature in Hampshire’s 2020 season

0

West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards will not feature for Hampshire in 2020 but will return for a testimonial match in 2021.

Edwards joined the club as a Kolpak player in 2015 and picked up 45 first-class wickets in just eight matches at an average of 20.80 in his debut campaign. After suffering a season-ending injury early in 2016, the right-arm seamer returned to pick up 33 wickets at an average of just 24.06 in 2017. He scalped 50 and 48 wickets in the following seasons.

“The mutual decision, which was made in agreement with Edwards and his management, comes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which has caused significant difficulties with the availability of players who do not permanently reside in the UK, the club has announced.

“This, coupled with the changing status of Kolpak players from the 2021 season, means that it’s likely the popular 37-year-old has played his last competitive game for Hampshire,” it added.

Giles White, Hampshire’s Director of Cricket, said, “Circumstances have conspired against a return for Fidel and sadly, it may be that he has played his last game for the club. Personally, I can’t speak highly enough of Fidel and the impact that he has had. He’s been an unbelievable player over his whole career but most recently with us.

“We will miss him in every way, he’s been a great teammate and a wonderful performer, and we all look forward to welcoming Fidel back next year to pay tribute to his outstanding contribution to the club.”

Edwards, on his part, said: “It’s a bit sad that my Hampshire career looks to be ending in these circumstances, during the pandemic, but there is a lot to celebrate and remember from my days at Hampshire.

“I hope this isn’t it for me and county cricket, but for now I am proud to have pulled on the Hampshire shirt and look forward to returning for my testimonial match in 2021,” he added.

Microsoft to open offices on January 19, 2021: Report

0

Microsoft has reportedly chosen January 19, 2021, as the date for reopening its US offices.

According to The Verge, the tech giant is planning a “hybrid workplace” for a six-phase reopening of its offices.

“Stage six will be when offices are ready to fully reopen for employees to return to work,” the report said on Friday.

The six stages are: Closed; Mandatory working from home; Working from home strongly encouraged; Soft opening; Open with restrictions and finally, Open.

“In the US, we have established that the earliest possible date for Stage 6 is now January 19, 2021,” read an internal memo from Kurt DelBene, Microsoft’s head of corporate strategy.

“Our goal for Stage 6 is to return to normal operations while being prepared to back off to an earlier stage, if a significant resurgence in the virus occurs,” the memo added.

Google is planning to keep its employees working remotely until July 2021 while Apple employees will not return to offices until early next year.

With the COVID-19 pandemic hardly showing any sign of slowing down, Google said it would allow employees to work from home till the middle of next year if their roles permit.

“To give employees the ability to plan ahead, we are extending our global voluntary work from home option through June 30, 2021, for roles that don’t need to be in the office,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in an email to employees, according to a CNBC report.

In May, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg laid out a detailed remote-working plan to make half of his 50,000-strong workforce work from home by 2030. According to him, about half of Facebook employees would work from home five to 10 years from now.

While Amazon and Apple expect their employees to return to their respective offices in January, most other tech companies have also allowed work from home till the end of the year.

Titled “Rosie: The Saffron Chapter”, Palak’s debut project is directed by Vishal Mishra.

“For ‘Rosie’, I’ll say the movie picked me. After I heard the synopsis of the story it was hard for me not to want to be a part of it. Our director sir’s vision for ‘Rosie’ is crafted with poise and mystique. It’s a vision I’m fortunate to be portraying,” Palak told IANS.

Palak is nervous about her debut in Hindi cinema. “Your debut is your first impression, it’s an everlasting association but I’ve also felt like I’ve been ready to take this step for a while. I have dreamed of this day my whole life and now that it’s finally here, there’s nervousness and there’s pressure to make everyone that has believed in me proud and give others a reason to believe in me,” she said.

Having a renowned television actress like Shweta at home, does Palak take any acting tips from her mother?

“One thing that I truly appreciate about mom is how she approaches helping me with acting,” replied Palak, adding that she is shy to perform in front of her mother.

“Whenever and if ever a scene is a little perplexing, or if I’m just feeling stuck, our way to do it is I record myself performing the scene, the best way I know how to because I get so nervous performing in front of mom. She will then watch the video — only after I’ve left the room because again she makes me very, very nervous and shy for some reason — and once she’s done she’ll call me back and tell me everything I can improve on,” said Palak.

Palak says her mother Shweta will never do a scene for her and then ask her to emulate that.

“What she has always taught me is ‘if you’ll ever make it will be because of your style of acting and the approach and perspective you bring to it’. So, she has always taught me to never leave my way of acting, she has never asked me to do it her way. Only, (she tells me) how I can better myself,” Palak added.

The first part, “Saffron Chapter” is based in the Saffron BPO, considered as one of the most haunted places in Gurugram.

The story revolves around a girl called Rosie who was an employee in the office.

Neha Kakkar is pop star of the country: Yasser Desai

Singer Yasser Desai feels Neha Kakkar is the pop star of this country.

Yasser and Neha have collaborated on an upcoming single titled “Dil ko kara aaya”. The song is penned by Rana and composed by Rajat Nagpal.

“I think Neha completely deserves all the success coming her way. From where she came, what she has achieved is completely phenomenal. She is the pop star of this country and she deserves to be at that spot, which she has earned with hard work and dedication,” said Yasser.

Talking about their new collaboration, he added: “This is the second time I have sung with Neha. We both sang together for the first time in ‘Fukrey Returns’, for the song ‘O meri mehbooba’. But this is my first duet with Neha, so I am looking forward to it. It’s a beautiful romantic song, with a video featuring Sidharth Shukla and Neha Sharma.”

Talking about his upcoming projects, Yasser said: “A lot of my projects are stuck due to this coronavirus pandemic, so I hope that this lockdown ends as soon as possible. I have sung songs for big projects with well-known composers but currently, I can’t disclose the names. As far as individual projects are concerned, I am working on a few singles in which I will be featuring as well. Let’s see when they come out.”

Twitter says phone spear phishing attack led to massive hack

The massive Twitter hack earlier this month that spread a cryptocurrency scam by hijacking accounts of high-profile celebrities, politicians, and businesses was a result of a phone spear-phishing attack, the social media platform has revealed.

“A successful attack required the attackers to obtain access to both our internal network as well as specific employee credentials that granted them access to our internal support tools,” Twitter said in an update on its investigation to the issue on Thursday.

The attackers targeted 130 Twitter accounts, ultimately tweeting from 45, accessing the DM (Direct Messages) inbox of 36, and downloading the Twitter Data of 7.

In the incident that occurred on July 15, accounts of major public figures including Barack Obama, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, Apple, Uber were simultaneously hacked by attackers to spread a bitcoin scam.

The incident raised concerns around Twitter tools and levels of employee access.

Twitter said it has “zero tolerance” for misuse of credentials or tools, actively monitors for misuse, regularly audits permissions, and takes immediate action if anyone accesses account information without a valid business reason.

“Since the attack, we’ve significantly limited access to our internal tools and systems to ensure ongoing account security while we complete our investigation,” Twitter said.

As a result, some features — namely, accessing the Your Twitter Data download feature — and processes have been impacted.

Twitter said it will be slower to respond to account support needs, reported tweets, and applications to its developer platform.

“We’re sorry for any delays this causes, but we believe it’s a necessary precaution as we make durable changes to our processes and tooling as a result of this incident,” Twitter said.

“We will gradually resume our normal response times when we’re confident it’s safe to do so,” the company added.

Twitter said its investigation is ongoing, and it is working with the appropriate authorities to ensure that the people responsible for this attack are identified.
