Naga Chaitanya is set to star in the mystical thriller tentatively titled NC24. Directed by Virupaksha filmmaker Kartik Dandu, the movie also features Laapataa Ladies fame Sparsh Srivastava as the antagonist. The project is currently in production.

Marking 16 years in the film industry, Naga Chaitanya shared insights with Deccan Chronicle about his approach to cinema.

Speaking about his collaboration with Sobhita Dhulipala, he said, “Sobhita has been acting since winning Miss India, but she’s carved her own path. She chooses author-backed roles and films that lean towards artistic storytelling. Her passion for poetry also shapes her perspective. I, on the other hand, approach films from a more commercial standpoint.”

Naga Chaitanya further explained his preference for stories rooted in Indian culture. “I look for roles that are deeply connected to our land and heritage. The world is curious about India — our emotions, our traditions, our stories. That’s what I aim to bring to the screen,” he added.

Su From So OTT Release: Kannada Horror-Comedy to Stream on Jio Hotstar from September 9

0

Kannada horror-comedy Su From So turned heads at the box office, impressively grossing over Rs. 100 crores despite featuring a cast of newcomers. Jio Hotstar acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights, and fans were initially told the film would be available on the platform from September 5.

However, the movie did not arrive as expected, leaving viewers disappointed. The good news is that Su From So is now officially set to premiere on OTT on September 9, and it has already been listed in the platform’s catalogue.

The film will be available in three languages (yet to be specified). Most likely, the Telugu version will stream alongside the original Kannada version. While the Telugu theatrical release took place earlier, the dubbed version didn’t make a significant impact.

Prabhas’ Spirit: Sandeep Reddy Vanga Shares Exciting Production Updates

0

Movie enthusiasts across the nation are eagerly awaiting Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prabhas’ upcoming action thriller, Spirit. For Prabhas fans craving updates, here’s some exciting news. During a recent appearance on Jagapathi Babu’s talk show Jayammu Nischayammu Raa, Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared a fascinating insight about the film’s production.

According to the filmmaker, Spirit will follow a method similar to his earlier blockbuster Animal. “Shooting a film becomes much easier when the background music (BGM) is ready on set. You know exactly when to call cut, and the rhythm helps the actors deliver better performances,” Vanga explained. He added that while he didn’t have this advantage during Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, 80% of the BGM was completed before the shoot for Animal, and for Spirit, 70% of the BGM is already ready.

Vanga further revealed, “This approach will save around 5–6 days of production. Prabhas is extremely cooperative and down-to-earth. Despite being a superstar, he never flaunts it. We are all set to start the shoot soon.”

Fans can expect a streamlined production process and an exciting new avatar of Prabhas in Spirit, making anticipation for the film even higher.

Telugu Horror Thriller Finds New Life on OTT After Moderate Theatrical Run

0

Horror thrillers are currently ruling the OTT space, and audiences are showing immense interest in this genre. Many such films, which saw only a moderate run in theatres, are now recording massive viewership on digital platforms. One such Telugu horror comedy, released in theatres on August 8, has now become a favorite among OTT audiences.

The film, featuring Viva Harsha and comedian Praveen in key roles, along with Krishna Bhagavan, Shining Phani, and KGF Garudaram, received good appreciation for its engaging plot and humor despite its limited theatrical success.

The story follows Parameshwar (Praveen), a struggling software engineer who dreams of opening a restaurant. Short on money, he takes up odd jobs but eventually listens to his friends’ suggestion of making ghost videos for YouTube. To their surprise, the first video goes viral. For the second one, the group ventures into an abandoned bungalow, where they discover an old book. Performing the rituals described in it, they accidentally summon a 200-year-old spirit (Viva Harsha), trapped inside a lemon.

The spirit, driven by uncontrollable hunger, wreaks havoc by devouring everything in sight before possessing one of Parameshwar’s friends. The rest of the film unfolds as Parameshwar and his gang attempt to rid themselves of the spirit, uncover its origins, and discover whether Parameshwar’s dream of opening a restaurant will ever come true.

With its blend of horror, comedy, and suspense, this small-budget entertainer has become a surprise hit on OTT, proving once again that strong content always finds its audience.

Sai Rajesh Confirms Baby Hindi Remake; Shoot to Wrap by December 2025

Sai Rajesh’s Baby turned out to be a blockbuster, winning both critical acclaim and box office glory. Following its success, a Hindi remake was announced, but the project faced delays.

Initially, Babli Khan, son of the legendary Irrfan Khan, was signed as one of the leads. However, he exited the project after prep sessions, which pushed the schedule back and fueled speculation that the remake had been shelved.

Clearing the air in a recent interaction, director Sai Rajesh confirmed that the Hindi remake is very much on track. He revealed, “The shoot will be completed by December 2025, and we are planning to release it in the first half of 2026. Contrary to online chatter, the Telugu version was loved by audiences, which is why it performed so well at the box office. Although a small section of Twitter criticized it, the overall response was overwhelmingly positive. We’ve also made a few corrections in the Hindi version based on feedback from reviewers.”

With these updates, fans can rest assured that Baby’s Hindi version is set to arrive with improved storytelling and fresh energy.

Rajinikanth’s Coolie Hits Prime Video on Sept 11 | Early OTT Announcement Sparks Debate

0

Superstar Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action drama Coolie has grossed close to Rs. 500 crores worldwide. While trade experts initially expected the film to breach the Rs. 1000 crore milestone, mixed reviews slowed its box office momentum.

The film is now set for its digital premiere on Prime Video from September 11, 2025. However, the OTT announcement has sparked debate, as it comes just three weeks after the theatrical release. Many fear this early reveal might discourage audiences from visiting theaters this weekend, further denting collections.

Traditionally, a four-week theatrical window is common for South Indian biggies, but with expensive ticket rates and faster OTT releases, theatrical runs are shrinking drastically. If platforms continue to announce dates this early, movies may soon struggle to sustain even a two-week run in cinemas.

Little Hearts Movie Review: Mouli Tanuj Prashanth and Shivani Nagaram Shine in Youthful Rom-Com

0

Little Hearts Movie Review

Movie Name: Little Hearts
Release Date: September 5, 2025
Starring: Mouli Tanuj Prashanth, Shivani Nagaram, Rajeev Kanakala, SS Kanchi, Anitha Chowdary, Sathya Krishnan
Director: Sai Marthand
Producer: Aditya Haasan
Music Director: Sinjith Yerramilli
Cinematographer: Suriya Balaji
Editor: Sreedhar Sompally

Story:

Nalli Akhil Kumar (Mouli Tanuj Prashanth) is a below-average student whose father (Rajeev Kanakala) dreams of making him an engineer. After a poor EAMCET rank, Akhil lands in a long-term MPC coaching center, where he meets Khatyayani (Shivani Nagaram), a BiPC student. A sweet romance blooms, but just as Akhil plans to propose, a shocking truth comes out. How does this twist affect their bond? Can their relationship survive family and personal hurdles? That’s the crux of Little Hearts.

Plus Points:

  • Mouli makes a promising lead debut, carrying his natural YouTube charm onto the big screen. His comic timing and innocence feel organic.

  • Shivani Nagaram adds warmth, and her chemistry with Mouli feels refreshing.

  • Supporting cast, especially Jai Krishna and Rajeev Kanakala, add energy and balance.

  • Lighthearted humor works well, with genuinely funny sequences and situational comedy.

  • A couple of songs blend smoothly into the narrative without breaking the flow.

Minus Points:

  • The storyline is predictable and wafer-thin.

  • Strong supporting actors like Rajeev Kanakala are underutilized.

  • Pacing dips after the twist, and the climax feels rushed.

  • Appeals mostly to youth/college-going audiences; others may find it too light.

Technical Aspects:

  • Sai Marthand makes a decent debut, handling fun portions well, though the script feels weak.

  • Cinematography by Suriya Balaji is neat, and Sinjith Yerramilli’s music adds flavor.

  • Editing could have been tighter in the second half.

  • Production values are adequate for a youthful rom-com.

Verdict:

Little Hearts is a fun, youthful rom-com with laughs and sweet moments. Mouli and Shivani shine with their chemistry, and the humor keeps things lively. But the thin plot, minor pacing issues, and rushed climax hold it back from making a strong impact.

A good weekend watch for youth and rom-com lovers, but not everyone’s cup of tea.

Rating: ⭐⭐¾ (2.75/5)
