Vijayendra Prasad is a well-known name in Indian Film Industry. He has written story for all the films directed by his son SS Rajamouli, including the latest Baahubali – 1 and Baahubali – 2. He has given stories for many blockbusters in Telugu Film Industry. Even though Vijayendra Prasad directed couple of movies in the past (in 1996 and 2006), he is well known for his directorial ventures Rajanna (2011) and Srivalli (2017)

With Rajanna only being an above grosser, rest all films have bombed at the box office. The ace writer has been criticised for his directing abilities. Few critics stated that ‘By directing such films he is only damaging the reputation and the good name of his son SS Rajamouli.’
