Prabhas-starrer ‘Raja Deluxe’ under Maruthi’s direction is likely to kick off soon

0

Hyderabad, May 31 For months, rumors have circulated that Prabhas will collaborate with director Maruthi on a horror-comedy. The latest news is that the movie’s regular filming will begin at the end of August or in the first week of September.

The film will most likely be a commercial story with a humorous plot. ‘Raja Deluxe’ is said to have three heroines, among whom is ‘Pelli SandaD’ fame Sreeleela, while ‘Uppena’ heroine Krithi Shetty is considered as another female lead opposite Prabhas.

It’s also been reported that glamorous actress Malavika Mohanan will also be among the girls who will romance the ‘Radhe Shyam’ actor.

Prabhas, who rose to fame across India with ‘Baahubali’ attempted to return to his roots in the love genre with ‘Radhe Shyam’ but fell short. With the actor’s upcoming appearance in ‘Raja Deluxe,’ his comedic timing and wit are expected to be fully utilized.

Prabhas will also star alongside Saif Ali Khan in Om Raut’s mythological film titled ‘Adipurush’ which is being shot in both Hindi and Telugu at the same time.

Another big-ticket movie Prabhas is actively working for is Prashanth Neel’s highly-anticipated ‘Salaar’, which stars Shruti Haasan.

Mammootty to Ashokan to Renji Panicker to Lal: Thrikkakara is a star-studded constituency

0

Kochi, May 31 A star-studded electoral battle is underway in Kerala for the Thrikkakara by-election in Kochi as a number of celebrity voters including superstar Mammootty came to cast their votes on polling day on Tuesday.

After casting his vote Mammootty had just one thing to say that all voters should come and exercise their franchise and saying this he slipped away from the media who got around him, even as all know he has been the chairman of the CPM-backed Kairali TV channel since its inception in the late ’90s.

Then there was popular comedian Harisree Ashokan whose alignment in politics is quite well known as he was a star campaigner at Dharmadom – the constituency of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Kannur district in 2021 Assembly polls.

Once a hugely popular scriptwriter and now a busy actor Renji Panicker was another one who cast his vote and after doing it, he told the media that this election is going to be an evaluation of the Kerala government.

Then there was actor, producer, and director Lal who also came early and cast his vote and said this is a keenly contested election.

Award-winning director M.A. Nishad was another one who cast his vote and pointed out it’s going to be a test of nerves.

The total electorate in the Thrikkakara constituency this time is 1,96,805 up from 1,94,113 in the 2021 Assembly polls which were won by Congress veteran P.T. Thomas by a margin of 14,329 votes.

When Thomas passed away in December last year, the fresh polls became a necessity and the Congress has fielded his widow, Uma Thomas, while the CPI-M brought in young interventional cardiologist Joe Joseph, while the BJP went for veteran leader A.N. Radhakrishnan.

Aditya Chopra invested 2 years on VFX to make ‘Samrat Prithviraj’

0

Mumbai, May 31 Filmmaker Aditya Chopra has invested two years in VFX to make the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ into a visual extravaganza.

Akshay says, “Retelling the legend of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan on the big screen is a huge task for any producer, director, or actor like me.”

“From the word go, we were sure that we will tell his life story in its full glory because we were honoring the courage and sacrifice of the mighty king who stood up against the merciless invader Mohammad of Ghor to protect our country.”

He adds, “Elaborate war sequences were designed keeping in mind that audiences should have the biggest and the best theatrical experience when they step in to watch the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan unfold before their eyes.

“Expansive sets were created and we shot in majestic locations to add as much visual appeal as possible. We want this film to be the grandest tribute to the fearless king.”

Akshay shared that the VFX adds magic to the movie-watching experience and that the makers knew they could scale up the film.

“The pandemic resulted in this team getting about 2 years to work on the footage. So, you can only imagine the scale that has been achieved through VFX. I can’t wait for people to see the film because it is truly a visual extravaganza for audiences to be thoroughly entertained!”

‘Samrat Prithviraj’ has been directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The film is set to release on June 3 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

‘Major’ Adivi Sesh all set for command performance

0

New Delhi, May 31 Telugu star Adivi Sesh, who was in the capital for the promotion of his new movie ‘Major’, spoke about the ongoing language row, prominence of Hindi, and other regional languages.

While everywhere there is a debate on making Hindi a national language and linguistic diversity, Adivi told IANS that India is a country of many languages.

“I think it’s important to remember that India is a glorious, diverse country with many languages. I don’t think we officially have a national language according to the Constitution. And I’d like for it to remain that way. Of course, we still made ‘Major’ in Hindi because we really know that it’s the most widely spoken language in India, and we wanted the most widely spoken language to see the life of major Sandeep Unnikrishnan.”

He shared the kind of response he received in different cities and a few moments that are even bigger than getting Oscars for him.

He reminisced: “For promotion, finally we came to Mumbai and we did a screening for the National Security Guard. In fact, the NSG was opened due to the 26/11 attacks. The main gate of the NSG HQ is called ‘Unnikrishnan Dwar’. There’s also a statue dedicated to him in the centre of the campus. We did a screening for 3012 commandos and their families. It wasn’t like the other shows. Nobody was shouting. We started to feel a sense of trepidation.”

“Perhaps, we thought, there had been some mistake with the uniforms. Then, one Major came to me and told me that the Group Commander was calling. After the screening finished at 11:00 pm, I started to worry. We reached the headquarters and the NSG gave us this medal. This is from the NSG Black Cat commandos. This is probably more important than an Oscar for me because these are the people whose job profile is exactly the same as Major Sandeep’s profile.”

“India’s army is quite elite, and the NSG is an elite part of the army. When an officer belonging to such an organization gives something to us because this means something to them, that this is very accurate-it touches your heart and makes you realize that there are certain things that are bigger than movies,” he added.

He also spoke about the fear that if the movie is being screened ten days before its release: “Anyone can review and say negative about it on YouTube so this is a major risk factor but still we did it for the audience.”

Adivi said while portraying a character like Major Sandeep, one needs a lot of preparation not only physically but mentally also.

He shared: “The effort was to understand him rather than get into the role. Moreover, the movie requires a lot of weight changes that our director decided to do. From 84 Kg to 81 Kg, 79 kg to 73 kg. Back to 81 kg and again back down to 76 kg. And also I have to act like a guy who is not filmy and do the action.”

“Rather I have to actually move like a soldier and move smoothly. Or move like you’ve been training for 15 years. It’s a very difficult process. Not to mention I’m left-handed and somebody like me who is left-handed had to do firing with the right hand as Major Sandeep used to do. It was not at all easy.”

While talking about his future project like ‘Hit 2’ for which recently Telugu star Nani also told in an interview with the media that Adivi is a perfect choice, he briefed: “It’s Sailesh Kolanu, who created ‘Hit 1’ in Hyderabad decided that he wanted to create the sort of hit cinematic universe, where you have the few cops in different cities, right, each dealing with cold cases. So, I am the cop in Visakhapatnam. Nani wanted to make it much bigger so we have made it on a larger scale than ‘Hit 1’. I am also working on the remake of an Oscar-winning movie that will be made in Telugu and Hindi.”

On the question of what kind of role he is looking forward to playing, he shared: “It really depends on how you play a character rather than genre. The only genre I don’t want to do is horror. Neither do I watch horror, nor do I want to. In horror movies, the hero never gets the credit, ” he laughed.

Adivi concluded with: “If not an actor, I would be a writer or a journalist.”

The bilingual film ‘Major’ has been shot in Hindi, and Telugu and will release in Malayalam as well. It also stars Saiee Manjrekar, Revathi, Prakash Raj, Anish Kuruvilla, and Murali Sharma.

Produced by Sony Pictures International Productions in association with Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies, ‘Major’ is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka.

He said: “The weight of everything is much more intense. I think it’s now about trying to be as present as possible and as thoughtful as you can be for your family, but also for other people’s journeys. I’m so grateful for (Malti Marie) and the wonderful perspective of being a parent.”

Meanwhile, the ‘Find You’ hitmaker, who shot to fame as a Disney star alongside his older brothers Kevin, 34 and Joe, 32 back in the late 2000s, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 13 and explained that while his life was “uprooted” by the disease, hopes that by sharing his story he has been able to help others, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

While attending the Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation’s ‘Big Fighters, Big Cause’ charity boxing match – where he was honored with the Golden Glove for his activism – he told Variety: “I was a 13-year-old kid with a life that was kind of uprooted by this disease. I didn’t really know of anybody in the public eye who was living with it at the time.”

“If me sharing my story over these past 16 years has helped anybody, that’s the goal. I look to the people that helped me through my journey — my family, my friends — and I want tonight to be about them.”
