Sri Reddy is back in news. Recently, she made the headlines for a social media post on Udayanidhi Stalin in which she had stated that they had a physical relationship and spent a night at a decent hotel in Hyderabad. However, she seems to have taken a total U-turn on the entire episode. Sri Reddy convened a press meet in which she denied any involvement with respect to that post. She said he had repeatedly approached the cyber police about fake profiles of her doing the rounds on social media that was spoiling her reputation but no action had been taken.

HIGHLIGHTS Sri Reddy is back in news. Recently, she made the headlines for a social media post on Udayanidhi Stalin in which she had stated that they had a physical relationship and spent a night at a decent hotel in Hyderabad.

Sri Reddy clarified that she never met Kollywood actor Udayanidhi Stalin and that the post was put out by some pranksters. The actress also said that she had no intention to return to Tollywood and stated that she wanted to settle down in Chennai for good. Also, she went on to add that she was planning to enter politics to serve poor people. It may be recalled that Sri Reddy posted an update asking Kollywood actor Udayanidhi Stalin if he remembered how he had taken advantage of her vulnerability. However, she came in for a lot of flak from the DMK. And knowing the fact that she lives in Chennai it’s hard for anybody let alone an actress to survive in Tamil Nadu bad mouthing the Stalin family. We presume Sri Reddy chickened out and finally decided to put an end to all the rumours and controversies. But with latest disclosure that she was going to join politics, we may have to see if she will say goodbye to films and take the political plunge full time. We willl soon know.

Story: Subhash (Vishal), an army officer, is the son of a chief minister (Pala Karuppaiah), who has to track down the people behind the dastardly terror attack that has led to the death of his fiancée (Aishwarya Lekshmi) and his elder brother (Ramki). The rest of the story is as to how Subhash goes on a mission and finds the culprits behind it.

Minus Points:

· Few predictable scenes
· Weak villain

Performance: Kollywood star Vishal as an army officer is perfect. He has excelled in realistic action sequences. His body language and facial expressions are superb. Vishal has done all the stunts himself. Tamannah Bhatia looks super-hot in songs and does her part very well. Sayaji Shinde did his major role well. Akanksha Puri is super-hot in her negative role and the actress provides good eye candy. The rest of the cast performed accordingly.

Technical: The Storyline of the film is very interesting. It is told by a storyteller with a perfect understanding of the talent of its cast. The background score is pulsating and plays an integral part in Action. This time the director Sundar C tries a different attempt with a small twist in Action. The cinematography work is top-notch and showcases the action in a superb manner. Editing is smooth. The production values of this film are extravagant. Telugu dubbing is neat.

Analysis: Action starts with an action sequence set in Istanbul with ludicrous stunts. Everyone expected that there will be a strong antagonist who might prove to be more than a match to the actor, but what the audiences get is a weak villain. The last half an hour of the film disappointed the viewers. Terrorist hiding in Pakistan being brought to India have been showcased in many movies before. Sundar C became successful to impress the audience by creating good suspense.

Bheeshma First Glimpse: A romantic Bheeshma!

‘Bhishma’ in Mahabharat was known for his pledge of celibacy. He remained single forever. Nithin and Rashmika starrer ‘Bheeshma’ also has the same line – Single Forever. However, the first glimpse of the movie is quite contrasted to this line.

Rajinikanth’s ‘Darbar’ motion poster released

As announced earlier, the new motion poster of the A.R. Murugadoss and Rajinikanth film Darbar, was released simultaneously on social media by stars such as Kamal Haasan (on the occasion of his 65th birthday), Mahesh Babu, Mohanlal and Salman Khan.

The film is written and led by Murugadoss and presented by Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions. This is Lyca’s second collaboration on a Rajinikanth film after their success with 2.0.

The first poster that was released earlier showcased a headshot of Rajinikanth with plenty of cop memorabilia around him, and the wording, “You choose whether you want me to be immeasurable, bad or worse.” Reports indicate that the movie is set in Mumbai and that the Superstar will play an IPS officer in the film; his last cop role was in the 1992 film Pandiyan.

Darbar, slated for release this Pongal, marks the coming together of Rajinikanth and Murugadoss for the first time. Starring Nayanthara in the female lead, it has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Santhosh Sivan, and is bankrolled by Lyca Productions. Post Darbar, Rajini will be teaming up with director Siva for a film for Sun Pictures.

Watch: Nishabdham Teaser Starring R Madhavan, Anushka Shetty

Directed by Hemanth Madhukar, the teaser of the movie Nishabdham was out Wednesday which had reasonably made a good impression.

Produced by Kona Venkat and TG Vishwa Prasad, the film is starring Anushka Shetty as lead alongside Madhavan, Anjali and Shalini Pandey who are seen in supporting roles.

According to the teaser, the movie is all about how a vacation turned into a nightmare while Anushka is caught in it as she plays a dumb and struggles to explain what she saw. It seems that the movie revolves around a small girl who was spotted at the beginning of the teaser. But the character of the girl is not revealed.

No dialogues were seen in the teaser but the thrilling background music by Gopi Sundar makes it an intriguing watch. This film is being simultaneously made in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and English languages along with Telugu.

The trailer of Panipat, starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Kriti Sanon, is out and it has a major Sanjay Leela Bhansali hangover. The trailer opens by establishing the great Maratha empire and Kapoor’s Sadashivrao Bhau is handed over the Peshwa sword, making him the leader.

His arch-enemy here is Sanjay Dutt’s Ahmad Shah Abdali who is known to be a ruthless killer. The trailer also introduces Kriti Sanon as the Maratha’s dutiful wife who can swing a sword if need be.

Since we have seen Ranveer Singh playing a Peshwa in Bajirao Mastani, we can’t help but compare Arjun Kapoor’s act to that flawless performance. His look is designed to fit the era, but the aura that Ranveer exuberated in Bajirao is nowhere to be seen here. Even Sanjay Dutt’s Abdali is a little reminiscent of Ranveer’s Khilji in Padmaavat. Not just the characters’ looks, even the props look like they were borrowed from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sets, especially the headgear worn by Dutt’s Abdali.

Before the makers jump in defense that we shouldn’t be comparing two works of art, they must understand that this sort of comparison is bound to happen. There are only a handful of memorable performances that we have seen in Hindi cinema in the last few years and when two of those performances become a sort of reference point of that era for the audience, comparisons will happen. If they wish to indeed impress the audience, their end product needs to be superbly elevated.

Panipat is the story of the third battle of Panipat that was fought between the Marathas and the Afghan invaders, but it is yet to be seen if the film sticks to historical facts or wanders into fiction.

Director Ashutosh Gowariker has helmed films like Lagaan, Jodha Akbar, and Swades in the past but the wounds of What’s Your Rashee and Mohejno Daro are still fresh for those who saw these films in theaters.

Panipat an opportunity to break barriers: Kriti Sanon

Panipat also stars Mohnsih Bahl, Padmini Kolhapure, Zeenat Aman and Suhasini Mulay among other actors.

Director Ram Gopal Varma has once again stirred up a controversy by coming up with the film Kamma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Reddlu. Already, he is receiving flak from various people regarding this movie. Not keeping an ear on ay of them, Varma is busy promoting his film. Last night, he announced that a new song on KA Paul from the film will be out today. As promised, the song came out this morning. Titled as Nene KA Paul, this is an entirely satirical song on the Prajashanti Party president. Lyricist Sirasri used the exaggerating attitude of Paul and wrote some funny lyrics.

The music composed by Ravi Shankar also suits the song. We have to see how KA Paul responds on this direct dig taken on him. Kamma Rajyam Lo Kadapa Reddlu is being produced by Ajay Mysore. The makers will announce the release details of the film soon.
