Venkaiah Naidu Asks If not Bharat Mata, should we salute Afzal Guru

“Chanting Vande Mataram is an ode to the motherland”, Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu said. It is our culture, our tradition, we are followers of Hinduism, which is passed to us from generations. If not to the mother, who will we salute? Afzal Guru? Asked Venkaiah Naidu.
He was in anguish when he was talking about Bharat Mata, “I want to tell people that Bharat Mata Ki Jai is not just about one Goddess photo, it is about all 125 crore population of India, the people living in this country, irrespective of their color, caste, creed, and religion. We are all Indians”. Said, Naidu.
Vande Mataram means praising the mother, referring this to the people who are seeking to define nationalism. He was also mentioning about the Supreme Court’s 1995 verdict on Hindutva which says it is not religion, it is a way of life. Our culture teaches us the world is one family, means Vasudev Kutumbkam, he said.
He was a guest at a function where a book on former Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief late Ashok Singhal was released. He described the late chief Ashok Singhal as the finest advocates of Hinduism. He sacrificed his 75 years of life for the future concludes, Naidu.
