Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan says she signed her upcoming release Angrezi Medium only because she wanted to work with the film’s lead actor Irrfan Khan, reported news agency IANS. “I am very excited for the film because I am working with Irrfan in the film. Angrezi Medium marks Irrfan’s comeback after he was diagnosed with cancer. He is currently undergoing treatment for the ailment. A few days back, Irrfan shared a heartwarming message for fans saying he would not be able to promote his upcoming film owing to health condition.

Kareena Kapoor recently made her Instagram debut and within a day got over one million followers on the social networking site. She posted a black and white picture with son Taimur Ali Khan. “I think fans have pulled me towards this because people were asking me about it constantly. There are so many fan clubs out there of my name, so, I think we needed to have one point that would be a place where they will get to know a lot about me, my films, my brands and about my life. Of course, there will be a picture of Taimur once in a while,” said Kareena, about her Instagram debut.

Angrezi Medium is directed by Homi Adajania and the film is a spin-off to the 2017 comedy Hindi Medium that also starred Irrfan.The sequel will feature Irrfan and Kareena with Radhika Madan and Deepak Dobriyal. It is scheduled to release on March 13.

All Ministers Suggest the Extension Of Lockdown

India has seen a dramatic surge in the number of coronavirus cases in the last few days. Over the last 24 hours, the country registered 508 new coronavirus cases, taking the total to 4,789. The number of deaths rose to 124, showed health ministry data.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, whose state has been hit by a rash of cases tied to a Muslim religious gathering in Delhi last month, said the country could take the hit to the economy and that it was more important to save lives. The three-week lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Mach 24, is expected to end on April 14.

But with the number of coronavirus cases showing a steady rise, several states, including BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh, has indicated that they would prefer an extension. While government sources said it is considering the states’ proposal, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar yesterday said a decision would be taken “in the national interest” at the right time.

Turning the on-going speculations true, Allu Arjun’s upcoming film with versatile director Sukumar has been titled as Pushpa. On the occasion of Stylish Star’s 37th birthday, the makers have unveiled the title and the first look of the protagonist from the film. Allu Arjun sports a thick beard and slips into a rugged avatar for the rustic actioner and according to reports; he will be seen as a lorry driver in Pushpa.

Popular referred to as AA20 until now, Pushpa stars Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady and Kollywood superstar Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. The film is said to be based on red sanders smuggling and the story will be set against the backdrop of Seshachalam forest, the hilly region of Tirumala.

While Allu Arjun underwent a drastic physical transformation and worked on his diction for the role, Rashmika is all set to portray a Chittoor girl in Pushpa. Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the music and Polish cameraman Miroslaw Kuba Brozek shall handle the camera. Malayalam Music composer M.K. Arjunan is no more

M.K. Arjunan, the last of the composers from the golden period of Malayalam cinema, died at Kochi in the early hours of Monday. He was 84.

In career that spanned over five decades, he tuned about 700 songs, many of them among the biggest hits of all time. His songs were celebrated as much as those of great composers like G. Devarajan (who was also his guru), M.S. Baburaj, V. Dakshinamoorthy and K. Raghavan.

Some of his songs were so good, many believed they were tuned by Devarajan, one of the most prolific and gifted composers of Indian cinema.

Arjunan may have been influenced by the style of his guru, but he never copied any of his tunes, or of anybody else for that matter. He belonged to an era when Malayalam film music had so many original tunes composed by some brilliantly original music directors.

His famous tunes include Yadukula rathidevane vide… (Rest House), Kasthoori manakkunnallo kaatte… (Picnic), Nin maniyarayile… (CID Nazir), Chandrarashmi than… (Anweshansm), Sukhamoru bindu…(Ithu Manushyano), Chembaka thaikal pootha… (Kathirunna Nimiaham), Kuyilinte maninaadam… (Padmavyooham) and Mallikappoovin madhura gandham… (Honeymoon).

Arjunan was among the first to notice the extraordinary gift of A.R. Rahman. He had made the prodigy play the keyboard for him.

To slow the spread of misinformation via its platform, WhatsApp on Tuesday announced a new stricter limit on forwarding messages. Now, frequently forwarded messages — those which have been previously forwarded five times or more, can only be forwarded to one chat at a time.

“With billions of people unable to see their friends and family in person due to COVID-19, people are relying on WhatsApp more than ever to communicate. People are talking to doctors, teachers, and isolated loved ones via WhatsApp during this crisis,” the Facebook-owned firm said in a blog.

It, however, added that, “…we’ve seen a significant increase in the amount of forwarding which users have told us can feel overwhelming and can contribute to the spread of misinformation. We believe it’s important to slow the spread of these messages down to keep WhatsApp a place for personal conversation.”

WhatsApp said that its previous move to reduced limit on forwarded messages to constrain virality led to a 25% decrease in message forwards globally at the time.

The company had in 2018 started testing the forwarding limit of five chats at once in India, where people forward more messages, photos, and videos than any other country in the world. The forward limit was later introduced around the world in 2019.

The company had also started labeling messages that have been forwarded many times with double arrows to indicate they did not originate from a close contact. “In effect, these messages are less personal compared to typical messages sent on WhatsApp. We are now introducing a limit so that these messages can only be forwarded to one chat at a time,” it said.

In addition, the company said it is working directly with NGOs and governments, including the World Health Organization and over 20 national health ministries, to help connect people with accurate information.

But then, few actors like Pawan Kalyan and Jr NTR sometimes decide to break it up as they have come up with titles like Attarintiki Daredi and Aravinda Sametha earlier. Looks like even Allu Arjun is also breaking the stereotypes now.

A hot rumour has emerged in film circles on Tuesday morning that the title of the film #AA20, Allu Arjun‘s next directed by Sukumar, is none other than “Pushpa”. Though “Seshachalam” is the working title in consideration for this movie from time, it is heard that director Sukumar wants to give the film’s title a feminine spin as the whole story revolves around the death of hero’s wife, to be played by Rashmika Mandanna.

Whether there is truth in this or not, Allu Arjun’s fans are amused by this title as they are not yet ready to accept such feminine titles for their hero’s movies. But then, in case if this is true, that will set new standards when it comes to naming films where our filmmakers are not any more concerned about using adjectives and superlatives that focus on hero’s bravery.

KCR informed Prime Minister Modi that extension of lock down is necessary

Telangana CM KCR has stated that he informed Prime Minister Modi that the extension of lock down is necessary. KCR, who briefed the media, said the situation is critical and the lock down is the only way to control the spread of the novel Corona Virus. He said there is no other option as of now as there is no vaccine, medicine to treat the Covid-19. Stressing the importance of life and health, KCR has asked the people to cooperate to the government during the lock down and asked everyone to abide my government’s rules.

KCR thanked the entire medical staff for their selfless service to the people in these times. He said people and his government are indebted to the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, medical workers. Equating them with God, he said these people are life saviours.

Citing the report of Boston Consulting Group (BCG), CM KCR said the report has suggested to extend the lock down till June 3. He said if lock down is not extended, the number of Corona cases may increase in Telangana. He also said that the CMs of other states are also in touch with the Prime Minister.

It can be noted that Prime Minister Modi has called and spoken to leaders of various political parties and CMs of states. He sought the opinion of the leaders on the ongoing pandemic situation. PM Modi has spoken to the likes of Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Deve Gowda, Mulayam Singh, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamta Banerjee, KCR, YS Jagan, Naveen Patnaik, Stalin, Prakash Singh Badal.
