Protests erupt in US after police officer kills black man

0

The killing of a black man by a white police officer sparked a series of protests during the past three days in Michigan’s Grand Rapids.

The protests first erupted on Wednesday after the Grand Rapids Police Department released several videos of an officer’s encounter with Patrick Lyoya earlier this month, including two that show the fatal shot during a struggle after a traffic stop, Xinhua news agency reported citing the local media.

Lyoya, 26, a refugee from Congo, was killed in the garden of a house in Grand Rapids after a brief chase followed by a struggle with the officer, who has not been named.

On Wednesday night, after videos of the incident were released, barriers went up at the Grand Rapids police station as hundreds marched downtown, chanting and demanding the department release the name of the officer who shot Lyoya, local TV channel WZZM reported.

There have been multiple protests and rallies on behalf of Lyoya. On Tuesday evening, dozens of people called for justice as they rallied outside a City Commission meeting. Community members in Grand Rapids gathered downtown at Rosa Parks Circle on Friday. The group marched downtown to the Grand Rapids Police Department headquarters to make their voices heard.

The deaths of George Floyd and other black men at the hands of police have led to protests across America in recent years. There have been 255 police shootings across the US this year, according to The Washington Post.

Palestinian-Israeli clashes: UN chief calls for calm in Jerusalem

0

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has voiced grave concern over the deteriorating security situation in Jerusalem and called for efforts to de-escalate the tension, said his spokesman.

Palestinians clashed with the Israeli police forces on Friday at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem, leaving more than 100 people wounded, Xinhua news agency reported.

The secretary-general on Friday called on leaders on all sides to help calm the situation. Provocations on the holy site, sacred to both Jews and Muslims, must stop to prevent further escalation, said Stephane Dujarric, the spokesman, in a statement.

Guterres reiterated his call for the status quo at the holy sites in Jerusalem to be upheld and respected, said the statement.

UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland is in close contact with key regional partners and the parties to calm the situation. Guterres reiterated his commitment to supporting Palestinians and Israelis to resolve the conflict on the basis of relevant UN resolutions, international law, and bilateral agreements, said the statement.

The tension between Israel and the Palestinians has flared up in the West Bank and East Jerusalem over the past three weeks as the Jewish festival of Passover overlaps with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Philippine storm death toll rises to 167

0

The death toll from the landslides and flooding spawned by tropical storm ‘Megi’ has risen to 167, with 110 still missing, the government said on Saturday.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that 164 died in the central Philippines while three died in the southern Philippines. The agency, which culls reports from the provinces affected by disasters, added that there are 110 more missing in the central Philippines.

Megi dumped rains in the central and southern Philippine regions before and after it hit land on April 10, inundating many areas and setting off landslides in several villages in Baybay City and Abuyog town in Leyte province, Xinhua news agency reported.

On Friday, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte visited the devastated province and handed relief goods to the survivors. He conducted an aerial inspection of the villages buried by mudslides.

The central Philippines is in the typhoon alley and is usually the gateway of typhoons to the country. Landslides and flash floods are common across the Philippines during the rainy season, especially when typhoons hit.

The Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world, mainly due to its location in the Pacific Ring of Fire and Pacific typhoon belt. On average, this archipelagic country experiences 20 typhoons every year, some of which are intense and destructive. Megi is the first storm to batter the country this year.

Pix from Ranbir-Alia ‘gathbandhan’ go viral; honeymoon in South Africa

The excitement over Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding continues even as the newly-wed couple is said to be all set for their honeymoon in South Africa.

After the first wedding pictures shared by Alia on her Instagram, now new pictures from their ‘gathbandhan’ ceremony have taken the Internet by storm.

Gathbandhan is a ritual in Hindu weddings in which the bride’s ‘pallu’ is tied to the groom’s scarf. The ritual symbolizes the union of the couple for eternity.

From the groom’s side, mother Neetu Kapoor, sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and cousin Karisma Kapoor performed the rituals, as Ranbir’s other cousin, Kareena Kapoor Khan, stood by the newly-wed couple’s side.

Ranbir and Alia began dating on the sets of Ayan Mukherjee’s ‘Brahmastra’ in 2018 and made their first public appearance as a couple at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding in the same year.

Their choice of South Africa as their honeymoon destination follows their earlier visit to the country to ring in the New Year. That was when they fell in love with the place and decided to return after tying the knot.

‘Everything else is irrelevant’: Kohli sweats it out in training ahead Delhi Capitals game

0

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli on Friday sweat it out in the nets ahead of the match against Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

RCB, who is sixth in the points table, will lock horns with Delhi Capitals on Saturday.

Kohli on the eve of the match shared a picture from the nets session in which he can be seen training hard for the game.

“If you’re immersed in the joy of doing what you love, everything else is irrelevant,” Kohli captioned the post on the KOO app.

RCB had lost its last match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Tuesday and will be looking to make a mark in the game against Delhi Capitals.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals physio Patrick Farhart has tested positive for COVID-19, an IPL statement said on Friday.

Twenty-four matches of the 15th season of IPL have been played, but ahead of the 25th match, the first case of coronavirus has come to light in the cash-rich league.

Also, CSK bowler Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the IPL 2022 owing to a back injury.

Magic mushroom helps ‘open up’ brains of people with depression: Study

0

A psychedelic compound found in psilocybin, commonly known as magic mushrooms, can help to “open up” depressed people’s brains, enabling brain regions to talk more freely to one another, finds a study.

Psilocybin is one of a number of psychedelics being explored as a potential therapy for psychiatric disorders. Several studies have trialed a synthesised form of the drug to treat patients with depression and anxiety, with promising results.

A team at Imperial College London’s Centre for Psychedelic Research believes to have untangled how psilocybin exerts its therapeutic effects on the brain.

The new results, taken from two combined studies including about 60 adults, reveal that people who responded to psilocybin-assisted therapy showed increased brain connectivity, not just during their treatment, but up to three weeks afterward.

This “opening up” effect was associated with self-reported improvements in their depression.

However, similar changes in brain connectivity were not seen in those treated with a conventional antidepressant (called escitalopram), suggesting the psychedelic works differently in treating depression.

According to the team, the findings, published in the journal Nature Medicine, are a promising advance for psilocybin therapy, with the effects replicated across two studies.

They explain that patterns of brain activity in depression can become rigid and restricted, and that psilocybin could potentially help the brain to break out of this rut in a way that traditional therapies cannot.

“The effect seen with psilocybin is consistent across two studies, related to people getting better, and was not seen with a conventional antidepressant,” said Professor Robin Carhart-Harris, from the University of California, San Francisco.

“In previous studies, we had seen a similar effect in the brain when people were scanned whilst on a psychedelic, but here we’re seeing it weeks after treatment for depression, which suggests a carryover of the acute drug action,” Carhart-Harris, who was formerly Head of the Imperial Centre for Psychedelic Research.

The researchers added that while follow-up data is still being analyzed for participants, initial changes in brain activity one day following treatment were a good predictor of whether a person would still show improvement at six months.

However, they cautioned that patients with depression should not attempt to self-medicate with psilocybin, as taking magic mushrooms or psilocybin in the absence of safeguards may not have a positive outcome.

Apologise to people of Telangana, KTR tells state BJP chief

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao has demanded state BJP President Bandi Sanjay tender an apology to the people of Telangana before going ahead with his padyatra.

Calling Sanjay’s Praja Sangrama Yatra a deception, he said that the BJP state President does not have the right to step in Palamuru (as the undivided Mahabubnagar district is called).

Before commencing his yatra, Sanjay should tender an apology to Palamuru and the entire Telangana people for the betrayal, injustice, and negligence done by the BJP to the state, he demanded.

The BJP leader on Thursday began the second leg of his Praja Sangrama Yatra, which, he says, is aimed at achieving democratic Telangana.

In an open letter to Sanjay, KTR, as the leader is popularly known, said that the fields in Palamuru, which were once known for accurate drought, have now turned into fertile lands.

River Krishna was the lifeline of Palamuru. The BJP-led government had set up the River Krishna Management Board but there was no development in addressing the river water sharing disputes. This was pushing the district’s future in doubt, he said.

Telangana has been demanding for national status for Palamuru RangaReddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and Sanjay should explain the Centre’s response to the Palamuru people, he demanded.

“Bandi Sanjay should step into Palamuru only after explaining to Telangana people as to why the Upper Bhadra project in neighboring Karnataka is accorded national status and why Telangana is discriminated against,” said KTR.

People have been appealing for a new railway line to Palamuru via Nagarkurnool but all their pleas were completely ignored by the BJP and its leaders and government, he said.

KTR demanded Sanjay should let people know how much fund he has donated to temples in Telangana. KTR made this statement as Bandi Sanjay commenced padayatra after offering prayers at Jogulamba Gadwal temple. “The BJP which does politics in the name of Sri Ram should tell the people of Telangana about how much they have donated to the Sri Ram temple in Bhadradri,” he said, questioning if the BJP had donated even a single rupee to the Yadadri temple.

“BJP is used to playing politics in the name of God and religion. Bandi Sanjay should start his padayatra after responding to the plight of Telangana farmers,” said KTR, alleging that BJP leaders have misled the farmers of Telangana by encouraging them to cultivate paddy with the false promise of procurement of the crop by the central government. “But, they changed their words and made the farming community suffer. Name your Yatra ‘Rythu Dagaa Yatra’ or ‘Rythu Dhokha Yatra’, said KTR.

The TRS leader also asked Sanjay to apologize to the people for the BJP’s “incompetent governance”.

TRS Working President stated that the BJP has betrayed the people of Telangana by snatching seven medals at the time of the state formation. He also asked Sanjay to talk about the unfulfilled promises of the BJP and why they did not deliver what was promised to Telangana under the AP Reorganisation Act.

“No padyatra can compensate for the betrayals done by BJP to Telangana. What was the point of doing padyatra when the BJP only spills venom on the people of Telangana,” KTR asked?

Mars Ingenuity helicopter completes record-breaking 25th flight

0

NASA’s Mars Ingenuity helicopter, originally expected to fly only five times, has aced its 25th flight on the Red Planet, setting new personal bests for speed and distance.

Weighing just 1.8 kg, Ingenuity became the first rotorcraft ever to make powered flight beyond Earth.

In a blog post, mission officials shared that Flight 25, performed on April 8, sent Ingenuity soaring 704 meters to the northwest, almost 80 meters longer than the current record by Flight 9.

The helicopter’s ground speed was about 5.5 meters per second, which is another record.

NASA expected the mini-helicopter to be in the rarefied Martian air for about 161.5 seconds, and it flew for 161.3 seconds.

“#MarsHelicopter is breaking records again! Ingenuity completed its 25th and most ambitious flight,” NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California, which manages Ingenuity’s mission, said in a tweet.

“It broke its distance and ground speed records, traveling 704 meters (2,310 feet) at 5.5 meters per second while flying for 161.3 seconds.”

The little chopper landed with NASA’s Perseverance rover on the floor of Jezero Crater on February 18, 2021. Ingenuity’s $85 million mission was supposed to be done after flight number five.

But the solar-powered chopper had performed so well and remained so healthy, despite Mars’s thin atmosphere, that NASA granted a mission extension.

The 25th flight was the second in five days for Ingenuity and its fifth sortie in the last month.

In the blog post, Ben Morrell, Ingenuity operations engineer at JPL, wrote that Perseverance is making great progress on its drive to the river delta, and it is important that Ingenuity keeps pace to arrive at the delta before the rover does.

“This is for two reasons: telecommunications and safety,” Morrell said.

“Ingenuity only communicates with the helicopter base station on Perseverance, so it needs to stay close enough to have a good connection.

“For safety, it is ideal if Ingenuity flies ahead of Perseverance to avoid ever having to fly past or near the rover, to minimize the risk of any close contact in a worst-case scenario,” he noted.

IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians face a Brabourne challenge against Lucknow Super Giants

0

Struggling to put up their first points on the board after losing five matches in IPL 2022 so far, Mumbai Indians return to the Brabourne Stadium for a clash with Lucknow Super Giants after playing three consecutive matches in Pune.

The five-time champions had launched their IPL 2022 campaign at Brabourne Stadium with a four-wicket defeat to Delhi Capitals and after losing to Rajasthan Royals at the D.Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, suffered successive debacles against Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Back at the same venue where they started their campaign, Mumbai can’t afford to lose many more matches as their chances of qualifying for the playoffs, already looking slim, will become even more difficult.

Though their batters have come good in patches, their bowling has failed to make an impression as Jasprit Bumrah has struggled for support from other pacers, and the team has failed to stitch together a winning combination. They have not had good starts as openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma have not clicked together as skipper Rohit Sharma has not been his prolific self and is due for a big one soon.

Youngster Tilak Varma has impressed so far with 157 runs from five innings and Suryakumar Yadav, who missed the first couple of matches, has scored 163 runs in three innings, but these are individual efforts, and the team as a unit seems to be missing something.

Despite these struggles, Mumbai Indians’ senior batter Suryakumar Yadav on Friday said if they stick together and work hard, the results are bound to come.

Yadav said the morale in the team is good as they know it is just a matter of time before things will improve and therefore there are no dropping shoulders or having a pessimistic outlook.

Asked what Mumbai Indians needed to do to become a champion side again, he said, “It is still a champion team. It’s not ‘used to be’. It is still a champion team and it will always be a champion team.

“It’s just a matter of a few games. The people who have joined in are going really, really well. I feel very happy for them, Dewald, Tilak. I feel the way they have taken responsibility since the first game, they’ve been really good. And I’m sure they’re going to make it really big,” Yadav said during a pre-match virtual press conference on Friday.

With a lot of matches yet to be played in IPL 2022, Yadav reiterated the need to stick together through the tough start.

“Wins and losses happen in cricket. But one thing we haven’t left is working hard and standing with each other. That is very important. That’s our team motto, and if we stick to it, things will automatically fall in place.”

He said that Mumbai Indians have been playing “good cricket” right from the first game, and if they follow the processes as they had done in the past was bound to yield results.

“I think we’re playing some good cricket from Game 1, and there’s no situation like panicking for a team like Mumbai Indians,” he said.

“We’ve been following good processes in the past few years and we’re just sticking to it. If we just keep doing it, we’ll eventually get our first win. We just have to keep working hard towards our goal together, which we are doing in practice sessions. That’s about it.”

Mumbai Indians have been through this sort of start before, in 2014. That year, they still qualified for the playoffs. That is one reason why the team does not seem short on motivation.

“This has happened before also, a long time back,” Yadav pointed out.

“It’s nothing new, so we’re just taking things very, very positively. Win or lose, it’s all part of the game. But I feel it’s all about hard work and quality sessions. The more time you spend with teammates, with management, and with family, it’s going to help the team win again and go forward. Everyone around is motivated already! I don’t need to push anyone. I play for Mumbai Indians, that self-motivation is always there.”

While Mumbai Indians are hoping for the spark to ignite, their opponent Lucknow Super Giants are sitting pretty in the fifth position in the 10-team table with six points from five matches. After starting with a defeat to Gujarat Titans, LSG won three successive matches before Rajasthan Royals halted their victory march thanks to Shimron Hetmyer’s stupendously unbeaten 59 off 36 deliveries and Yuzvendra Chahal’s 4/41.

Facing a struggling Mumbai Indians in their next match, K.L Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants will definitely fancy their chances of claiming all two points and remain in striking distance of the top-four spot.

PM to unveil 108 feet statue of Lord Hanuman in Gujarat’s Morbi

0

On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually unveil a 108 feet statue of Lord Hanuman in Morbi, Gujarat on Saturday.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that this statue is the second of the four statues being set up in the four directions across the country, as part of ‘Hanumanji4dham’ project.

It has been set up in the west, at the Ashram of Param Pujya Bapu Keshvanand Ji in Morbi.

“The first statue of the series was set up in the north in Shimla in 2010. Work on the statue in the south at Rameswaram has been started,” the PMO added.

IPL 2022: CSK’s Deepak Chahar ruled out due to back injury, Harshit replaces Rasikh at KKR

0

In a massive blow for defending champions Chennai Super Kings, their fast bowler Deepak Chahar on Friday was ruled out of the IPL 2022 due to a back injury.

The 29-year-old picked up a back injury at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru while rehabilitating from a quadricep injury sustained during the third T20I against West Indies in February.

“Chennai Super Kings bowler Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 owing to a back injury,” the league said in a statement.

Chahar was an integral part of CSK’s fourth championship win in IPL 2021, claiming 14 wickets from 15 games at an economy of 8.35. He was the team’s PowerPlay enforcer with the ball and also an able lower-order hitter, which got the franchise to spend 14 crores to pick him at the mega auction ahead of this season.

The pacer sustained the injury days after the auction and missed the subsequent series against Sri Lanka while rehabilitating at the NCA. The initial assessment by the NCA physios projected that Chahar was set to miss a major chunk of the IPL 2022 and his quick recovery kept CSK hopeful of a return in late April but the back injury setback put an end to all those hopes.

In his absence, CSK has won just one game out of five in the ongoing season. However, the franchise still hasn’t announced Chahar’s replacement for the IPL 2022.

The likes of Mukesh Choudhary, Tushar Deshpande, Adam Milne, and Chris Jordan have been used with the new ball but none of them has been very effective. Among still other options, the four-time champions have KM Asif and Rajvardhan Hangarkekar who can take the new ball for them in the matches to come.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed fast bowler Harshit Rana as a replacement for pacer Rasikh Salam for the rest of the IPL 2022 season.

Salam, who played 2 games for KKR this season, has been ruled out owing to a lower back injury and will take no further part in the tournament. His replacement, Rana, from Delhi will join KKR at his base price of Rs 20 Lakh.

The first track on the channel will be ‘Hanuman Chalisa’, composed by Ved Sharma and sung by Ankit Tiwari.

The logo of the channel takes its name from Jackky Bhagnani’s mother Pooja Bhagnani. Speaking about the same, the young producer shares, “We have taken the name of Just Pooja from my mother’s name, Pooja. It’s a special feeling for me, as I present a special ode to her with the channel.”

“Pooja also translates to prayers, so as an oath to my mom’s belief and the almighty, we have picked up the name and created a logo around it. Here’s to new beginnings”, he added.

IPL 2022: KKR pacer Umesh Yadav is in the form of his life, says Harbhajan Singh

0

Former Indian cricketers Harbhajan Singh and Irfan Pathan have admitted in unison that Kolkata Knight Riders’ strike pacer Umesh Yadav is going through a purple patch and the right-arm quick is in the form of his life in the IPL 2022.

Umesh has picked up 10 wickets in five matches for KKR and is the second leading wicket-taker in the tournament after Rajasthan Royals’ spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.

Former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh believes that Umesh is showing the world what he’s capable of with his performance this year.

“The way Umesh has performed in this IPL season is simply unbelievable. He seems to be in the form of his lifetime. The team management didn’t give him a big role at the start of the season because no one had an idea of his true potential. But now he is showcasing his talent and proving what he’s capable of,” Harbhajan said on a Cricket Live episode on Star Sports.

Supporting Harbhajan’s view on Umesh Yadav, former India pacer Irfan Pathan said that Umesh is determined to prove himself in this edition of IPL.

“Umesh has everything in his arsenal right now. He’s bowling outswing, he’s bowling brilliant inswingers and his rhythm is perfect. He went unsold on day one at the IPL 2022 mega auction and then KKR added him to their squad by buying his services at base price. Umesh must have been hurt and that is why he is determined to prove himself. He is putting up a show in this season for KKR who showed faith in him,” Irfan said.

NASA again calls off wet dress rehearsal of moon rocket over fuel leak

0

NASA has for the third time halted Artemis 1 moon rocket’s “wet dress rehearsal” – this time over a fuel leak.

Wet dress rehearsal is an opportunity to refine the countdown procedures and validate critical models and software interfaces.

The test, earlier scheduled for April 1-3, was stopped prior to tanking, due to the loss of ability to pressurize the mobile launcher using two fans. It was then shifted to April 12 and April 14.

On April 14, Artemis 1 team members observed a liquid hydrogen (LH2) leak on the tail service mast umbilical, which is located at the base of the mobile launcher and connects to the rocket’s core stage, officials said in a statement. LH2 is one of the Space Launch System rocket’s two propellants, along with liquid oxygen (LOX).

“The leak was discovered during liquid hydrogen loading operations and prevented the team from completing the test,” it added.

The mission engineers had last identified a helium check valve – that allows liquid or gas to flow in a particular direction and prevents backflow – that was not functioning. Helium is used for several different operations, including purging the engine, or clearing the lines, prior to loading propellants during tanking, as well as draining propellants.

When teams paused propellant loading, the rocket’s core stage liquid oxygen tank was about 49 percent filled and the LH2 tank had been loaded to about 5 percent capacity prior to the hydrogen leak.

While the core stage LH2 tank will be kept at about 5 percent and the core stage LOX loading remains stopped, with the teams working to drain propellant from the rocket.

“The team will not conduct the terminal countdown activities today as planned and will assess the next steps after today’s operations,” Jeremy Parsons, deputy manager of NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems team at KSC, said via Twitter.

The test is the culmination of months of assembly and testing for SLS and Orion, as well as preparations by launch control and engineering teams, and set the stage for the first Artemis launch.

Artemis 1 is currently scheduled to launch no earlier than late May 2022.

The uncrewed Artemis I mission is the first flight of the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft together. Future missions will send people to work in lunar orbit and on the Moon’s surface.

With the Artemis missions, NASA will land the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon and establish long-term exploration in preparation for missions to Mars. SLS and Orion, along with the commercial human landing system and the Gateway that will orbit the Moon, are NASA’s backbone for deep space exploration.

YouTube Shorts allows creators to use clips from YouTube videos

0

TikTok competitor YouTube Shorts has allowed creators to use video clips from billions of videos on the YouTube platforms, albeit with some rules.

The new feature is an extension of the existing “remix” tool that allowed creators to sample audio from other videos into their own YouTube Shorts posts.

“Create your own short videos using our Shorts creation tools to mix in music from our Audio Library or use original audio from videos across YouTube,” the company said in an update.

The YouTube Shorts feature is similar to the popular TikTok tool Stitch’.

“Shorts you make with sampled audio are attributed back to the source creator’s original video,” it added.

The company said that music videos with copyrighted content from YouTube’s music partners are not eligible to be remixed.

“If you upload a short video you’ve created elsewhere, make sure that any copyright-protected material you’ve used is approved for your use on YouTube.

Using copyright-protected material could lead to you getting a Content ID claim,” the company suggested.

The new update will allow creators to clip 1- to 5-second segments from long-form videos and Shorts to use in new short-form content.

“Shorts automatically opt into sampling on YouTube, and you can’t opt them out. For the existing long-form videos on your channel, you can limit audio sampling in YouTube Studio,” the company added.

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli said on Friday that the late spin legend Shane Warne was his childhood hero, adding that every interaction with the legendary cricketer was a learning experience, as none of his conversations were random.

Warne, who passed away following a suspected heart attack in Thailand where he was vacationing last month, had guided Rajasthan Royals to their maiden IPL title in 2008.

Speaking about the Australian cricketer’s impact on his career, Kohli said, “(He was a) childhood hero for many people including me. He was such an iconic personality and an iconic cricketer at the same time. Almost everyone, all the cricket fans knew about him.

“You would try to copy his action some time or the other. That’s the kind of impact that he had on this game. He was an amazing human being as well. I had the chance to speak to him quite a bit off the field. He was always positive and none of his conversations were random. It was always constructive, something that we can learn from. He spoke very passionately about Test cricket especially, cricket in general,” added Kohli.

The former India skipper also said that Warne was one of the most confident personalities he had ever met.

“He loved the game. It was such a shock to everyone and we can only look back and smile at his cricketing career, his achievements, and life in general. He lived the way he wanted to live and he was probably the most confident personality that I have met. Actually, I am grateful that I got to know him a little more off the field.”
