The BJP-led alliance is currently in the leading position in Tripura and Nagaland assembly elections, as predicted by the exit-polls surveys. The vote counting exercise started at 8:00 am in the morning. With BJP already holding 3 states out of 7-eastern states, these elections have turned out to be alitmus test for BJP. The Saffron party has been desperately trying to come to power, especially in Tripura, which is being ruled by Left Parties for the past 25 years. Though a neck-to-neck battle is going on between the BJP-led alliance and Left Parties in Tripura, the BJP-led alliance is clearly in leading.

In Meghalaya, stars do not indicate a victory for BJP. What’s surprising is that independents are leading the race. Currently, the Congress is leading in 23 seats, BJP is 5 seats, and NPP in 14 seats. The Independents are leading in 17 seats, sending strong signals towards a coalition (hung).

There is no way that BJP or its allies can form the government in Meghalaya. Overall, BJP can end up scoring 2/3 this time around. It is definitely not a bad score, keeping in mind about the anti-Modi wave, and the political makeup before these elections.

South Indian Movie Makers On Strike In Protest Against Digital Service

After the theatre owners in South India calling for a unanimous lockout, of movie theatres remained locked for the second day. The lockout began yesterday after their negotiations with Digital Service Providers failed. The theatre owners are protesting against the rise in Service fees by the Digital Providers.

Interestingly, few over-enthusiastic youth, out of ignorance about the lockout exercise, tried to book a ticket on online. And interestingly, they were met with disappointment. To educate about the lockout notice, Navadeep took to Twitter.

In his latest twitter post, the actor tried to book a ticket through ‘Bookmyshow’ app on his phone. He was not amazed at seeing, ‘There are no movies available in this region’. Navdeep took the snapshot of the same and posted on his Twitter account.

With the strike (lockout) taking a fierce form, it will be interesting to see what would be the fate of Telugu films which were scheduled to release towards the end of March. Most noticeably, Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam is release on March 30th.

Bollywood beauty, and one of the leading actresses among her contemporaries, Kangana Ranaut revealed spine-chilling details about her on-going film ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’. As the title suggests, it is an upcoming epic biographical film about Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi, whose real name is Manikarnika.

The film has completed its first scheduled recently in Ramoji Film City. Key action sequences have been completed in the first schedule. The movie’s 2nd schedule is currently going on in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

Speaking about her experience while shooting for the film, ‘it is clearly understood from the film title. The film is a war-drama. I am playing a very challenging role, the title role of Manikarnika (The Queen of Jhansi) in the movie.

I even learned horse-riding and sword fighting. I was met with many accidents throughout the shooting. In one of the accidents, I thought I almost lost my life’.

Surprisingly, Kangana Ranaut is being paid Rs 11 crores as remuneration for a Bollywood movie. Though the remuneration for this upcoming war-drama is not known, trade analysts feel that it should be around Rs 16 crores – Rs 18 crores. SS Rajamouli’s father, and writer of Baahubali, Vijayendra Varma wrote the story for this film.

They started this operation along with the Chhattisgarh state Policemen after receiving information from a police informer. As the Guerrillas refused and opened fire, greyhounds started firing their arms and the result is the encounter of 12 deadly Maoists. In exchange, three greyhounds were severely injured and a constable named Sushil Kumar found dead while having treatment. The entire district of Jayashankar Bhupalpally has woken up to witness these unexpected proceedings. This is a huge set back to Maoist group who are trying to strengthen their force in Nallamala forest range.

Big names of former CPI Maoists like Haribushan and some banned leaders are expected to be identified in the encountered Maoists. The most awaited teaser of superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala’ was out yesterday’s night. Let us see how the director of Kabali utilized his second chance with the superstar.Right from the release of the first poster, the buzz went to peaks due to the fact that Rajini is donning another lead character in this flick. Also, the speculation that this will be his last movie before leaving to Politics also increased the intensity. On the other hand, the delay of 2.0 is irking fans of Rajini. In this situation, the makers of Kaala unveiled the teaser on Youtube. Just like the poster, the teaser impresses all in its very first view.

Dressed in all black, Rajini appeared as dynamic as ever with stunning dialogues and awesome screen presence. The characters of lead actress Huma Qureshi and antagonist Nana Patekar also portrayed in this byte. But the only troubling factor is that the teaser has the flavor of Kabali which failed to satisfy the fans. However, now movie lovers and fans have the basic idea after watching Kabali and came to the conclusion that the director tries his best to portray Rajini in a terrific way despite the story. Rajini will be seen as a worker who goes to Mumbai from Chennai and emerges as a leader named Kaala to save his Chennai workers from local goons.

R.Dhanush showcased his writing and production skills in the teaser as his dialogues are appealing and Wunderbar Production values are rich. Kabali fame Pa Ranjith has directed this flick and Santosh Narayan once again scored perfect background. The movie is slated to get released on 24th April.
