Singapore Govt. announces a bonus of Rs14,700 every citizens!

The Singapore government announced a bonus of SGD100 – SGD300 to its citizens. Everyone above 21 years of age, holding a ‘Singapore Citizenship’ is eligible for the bonus. Citizens with annual income below SGD28,000 are eligible for SGD300 bonus, while citizens with annual income between SGD28,000 – SGD100,000 are eligible for SGD200 bonus. Citizens with annual income over SGD100,000 will be given a bonus of SGD100.
The Singapore Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat announced the bonus scheme on Monday.
‘This reflects the Government’s commitment to sharing its fruits of Singapore development to the Singapore citizens. We have a surplus budget this year, thanks to the recent property market pickup and increased stamp duty collections,’ said Heng Swee Keat.
The one-time bonus from the Singapore Government will cost the state SGD700 million (or Rs 3430 Crores).
If the same is ever to take place in our debt-ridden nation, the politicians need to come out with their black money reserves. Meanwhile, the Indian politicians are always busy in mudslinging on other party leaders, and looting the exchequer.
