When the two of the most popular actors come together for a film, you can surely expect a blockbuster. Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s War hit the screens yesterday, and both the fan-bases thronged the theatres to see their stars battle it out in an epic face-off.

The film, which released on around 4000 screens, is expected to have a fabulous opening of around Rs 35-40 crore. War released on Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), which is a national holiday. This would have ensured more footfall at the theatres.

However, War will face tough competition from Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi, as well as the Hollywood release Joker.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, War also features Vaani Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana. Hrithik has worked with Anand before in Bang Bang (2014), which earned around Rs 27.55 crore. Tiger Shroff’s previous actioner Baaghi 2 had raked in around Rs 25.10 crore on the first day.

Hrithik’s last film Super 30, which was an educational drama, earned around Rs 11.83 crore. It crossed Rs 100 crore in its second week. The year wasn’t so lucky for Tiger Shroff, as his film Student Of The Year 2 did not fare well at the box office, so there’s much hope that War turns his luck around.

War tells the story of an agent Khalid (Tiger Shroff), who is on a difficult mission to kill his former mentor Kabir (Hrithik). What follows is high-octane action sequences in exotic locations and a romantic plot hemmed in briefly.

While Bollywood celebrities gave the film a thumbs up, the film has received mixed reviews. India Today reviewer Nairita Mukherjee gave the film 2.5 stars out of 5, and said that the film is just about action. But, in War’s defence, it delivers what it actually promised since its promo: two good looking men (one more than the other) clashing, along with action that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If anyone went in expecting path-breaking cinema, well, why?” she wrote.

Actress Rashami Desai has denied rumours that she will get married inside the “Bigg Boss” house this season. A recent report in a city supplement stated “Uttaran” actress Rashami might tie the knot with boyfriend Arhaan Khan inside the house during her stay on “Bigg Boss 13”, which started airing on Sunday night.

While Rashami entered the house on Sunday night, Arhaan is reportedly expected to join her in a few weeks.

Quizzed on the subject, Rashami told IANS: “I really want to know who is spreading these rumours. I am a mature woman and I know how to take decisions. I don’t understand why someone would do this. This is a very stupid rumour. It is (marriage) such a beautiful thing. If I get married, I will let people know about it in a beautiful way. I won’t be committing a crime.”

At the moment, Rashami has mixed feelings about her stint inside the house. “I have a mixed feeling. I am a little nervous, a little bit scared and at the same time excited,” she said.

However, the actress is certain that it is not going to be easy inside the house.

“It is not going to be easy but I think it will be an interesting journey. Everyone who has been there says if you are on this show, you learn to handle your mood swings, your feelings. I feel that is an amazing thing. It makes you a stronger person,” she said.

Rashami is apprehensive she might hardly get to eat during her stay inside the house.

“I know how to cook. I can make pasta et cetera, but I don’t know how much of a chance I will get to cook inside the house. I have heard Bigg Boss hardly lets you eat!” she said.

After coming out of the house, the actress revealed, she would need some time for herself, before resuming work.

“I have not taken up any work commitments because I have no idea when I will come out of the house. Even if I come out as a winner, I would need a little time for myself. Once I am out, there will be a lot of media activity. Only after that, I will get back to work,” she said.

Asked if she has plans to venture into Bollywood, Rashami replied: “If the script is beautiful and the role is promising, I will definitely go for Hindi movies. The subject is the biggest hero.”

In a recent pre-release event of Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, SS Rajamouli praised very much of Chrinajeevi’s determined period film. The director also said that the biopic will laid down in history.

 

India glitz quoted Rajamouli as saying, “This is an extraordinary movie. I first congratulate Paruchuri Brothers for conceiving the thought of telling Narasimha Reddy’s story. he was a Telugu warrior to have waged the first rebellion against the British. Charan determined to produce the film and Sye Raa is a gift but not only Mr.Cheranjeevi but also for the Telugu people.”

The Bahubali director also revealed stirring details about Chiranjeevi’s film. He briefed that the movie has about 3800 VFX shots while his film Baahubali had only 2300 VFX shots. Chiranjeevi and Rajamouli are yet to make a film as a team. However, Chiranjeevi played a cameo role in the director’s film Magadheera, which had Ram Charan in the lead role.

Other leading characters in the film are Vijay Sethupathi, Sudeep, Nayanthara, Jagapati Babu, Tamannaah, and Amitabh Bachchan. The film is all set to release on 2nd of October.

Meanwhile, SS Rajamouli is busy with his big-budget film RRR, Jr.NTR and Ram Charan play the lead role in the film.

Valmiki’s title changed to Gaddhalakonda Ganesh

At the eleventh hour, the title of ‘Valmiki’ featuring Varun Tej and Pooja Hegde has been changed. The Boya Valmiki community has been demanding the change of title for a long time but the makers had ignored their agitation. When the issue came before the hearing for the court on Thursday, the makers have realized the grave situation and informed the judge that they would change the title of ‘Valmiki’.

On Thursday late night, director Harish Shankar and producers informed the media that the name has been changed to ‘Gaddhalakonda Ganesh’, the role that Varun Tej is essaying in the film.

Valmiki Boya community has raised objections over the title as sage Valmiki, who had written sacred text Ramayana, is being portrayed as a gangster. Hero Varun Tej is playing the role of a gangster in the movie.

Director Harish Shankar was adamant to change the title and argued that the film is all about how a gangster turns into a good person. Maharshi Valmiki is the epitome of what a changed man can do and this aptly suits our subject, he argued. But now he has relented.

However, this last-minute change of the title will have any effect as all the prints bearing this name had already been shipped and the censor was also done with the ‘Valmiki’ title.

The film releases Friday, Sep 20, 2019.
