Nandamuri Balakrishna’s films are not only known for intense dialogues, but also for high-octane action scenes. In the past, Balakrishna did go overboard by driving in the face of a near-vertical hill and sending a train backwards with a mere stare. These scenes might have wooed film audience at that time, but not anymore these days. Instead, he became thebutt of jokes in recent times for acting in such sequences. After a Twitterati shared the video of Bolero Scene in Jai Simha on Anand Mahindra, (Chairman, Mahindra Industries) Twitter account, it caught his attention.
Ananda Mahindra rather replied in a hilarious manner on the sharedvideo (Bolero Scene in Jai Simha). His tweet read:
‘Haha. Now all our service workshops won’t need any hydraulic lifts anymore to do Bolero check-ups!!’
The tweet was shared and liked by over 1000 Twitterati in a short while. Anand Mahindra’s tweet on Balakrishna was in response to the Bolero Scene in Jai Simha, where Balayya lifts the Mahindra Bolero vehicle one-handedly with ease.Jai Simha is having a good run at the Telugu box-office, despite mixed reviews. The film is directed by KS Ravikumar.

Megastar Chiranjeevi is undoubtedly the king of Tollywood cinema. Despite his break for a decade, no one was able to replace the Megastar on the silver screen. Parallelly, Chiru is also known for his humanitarian role both on-screen and off-screen.

He has donated Rs. 2 lakhs towards the treatment for Gundu Hanumantha Rao, who is suffering from akidney ailment. He also donated thecommendable amount to several (senior) junior artists who are having atough time due to lack of roles in the movies.

Nani’s second surprise for the 3-day festival is out. After he surprised everyone in an ‘oora mass’ look as Krishna from Krishnarjuna Yuddham, he comes as Arjuna this time. It is known that Nani is playing a dual role; both as Krishna and Arjuna in the movie. As ‘Arjuna’ Nani looks youthful and energetic. His rockstar outfit and looks like Arjuna has raised expectations on the movie.
We can understand from this look that, Nani is leading a group of youngsters in his college, or performing at a concert. Krishnarjuna Yuddham is expected to be a landmark movie in Nani’s career.
The ‘Natural Star’ who was only seen as a next-door-boy image all this while. In KAY, Nani will not only sport a mass-look, but even this rockstar looks. The film is being directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. Krishnarjuna Yuddham is slated for release in May 2018.

Krishnarjuna Yuddham First Look

‘Natural Star’ Nani is having a great run at the box-office since last 2 years. The hero had eight back-to-back hits to his name. It is a record he can be proud of. His recent film ‘MCA – Middle Class Abbayi’, went on to become a super hit at the box office. Surprisingly, the hero was cautioned by his fans, about his choice of scripts. Nani posted a selfie video (yesterday) on Twitter, in which he stated, he is coming with three surprises for the next three festive days. As promised, the hero came up with his first surprise!
Nani’s look from Krishnarjuna Yuddham (KAY) is nothing short of ‘oora mass’ feeling. Probably, Nani is the only star hero, who did not make up for the ‘mass’ image. The production house, Shine Pictures released the first look of ‘Krishna’ played by Nani in the movie. Krishna and Arjuna are both played Nani in the movie. Nani is seen as a typical village-style youth. You can sense the feeling of ‘mass’ thorough his looks, dressing and attitude. His next look as ‘Arjuna’ will be released tomorrow. The film is bankrolled by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi. Merlapaka Gandhi is directing the film.
Rangula Ratnam Movie Review
Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]
Cast: Raj Tarun, Chitra Shukla, Sitara, Priyadarshi
Director: Shree Ranjani
Producer: Akkineni Nagarjuna
Music: Sricharan Pakala
Editor: Sreekar Prasad
Production House: Annapoorna Studios
Every Sankranti paves way for high-budget films in Tollywood. 2017 Sankranti saw Khaidi No.150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni. Both the film fared well at the box office. In between these films, Sharwanand’s ‘Shatamanam Bhavathi’ was released and emerged as a super hit film. Hoping for the same magic, Raj Tarun came up with ‘Rangula Ratnam’ amid PK’s Agnyaathavaasi and NBK’s Jai Simha, which ended toppled at the box office. Let us see whether Raj Tarun made his presence felt!
Story:
The story is quite simple. It stars with Vishnu (Raj Tarun) and his mom (Sitara). Later, the lead pair; Vishnu and Keerthi (Chitra Shukla) work at ‘Emotions’, a greeting cards company. They both bump into each other in a wedding. Vishnu and his mom show extreme fondness towards each other. Keerthi takes a while before she accepts Vishnu’s proposal. Later, Keerthi calls for a break-up for unknown reasons. She becomes very possessive of Vishnu. The perspectives given by Vishnu and Keerthi are pretty realistic and justified. The film finally ends with a decent comedy.
Analysis:
It feels as if the director lost his plot in the first half. Though the core point; ‘everyone has a perspective’, is justified towards the ending, the heavy dose of sentiment and slow-paced narration throws a challenge to the audience. Despite being promoted as refreshing romantic drama, the film falls flat in the first half.
The director could have focused more on Vishnu – Keerthi episode than Vishnu and his mother right from the first half. The Mother-son episodes seem overboard for the young audience, and the comedy scenes fail to bring any laughs. Priyadarshi’s comedy worked well on the screen. The lead pair has done reasonable justice to their roles, and Sitara (as Raj Tarun’s mom) is her usual self. Chitra Shukla shines well on the screen. Raj Tarun’s comedy and the timing could have been much better.
The possessiveness shown by Keerthi, after calling-off the relation, will surely impress the audience. The dialogues between the lead pair, justifying their perspectives is worth watching. Sricharan Pakala’s music doesn’t make any impact, except for two songs. Priyadarshi gets a meaty role, and he is the only saviour. Characterisation of the lead pair could have been much better. Production values are poor. This film marks hat-trick flops for 2018 Sankranti.
Highlights:
Priyadarshi comedy
Core Concept
Comedy in patches and bits
Drawbacks:
Direction and script
Characterization of lead pair
Heavy dose sentiment in 1st half
Telugu Bullet Punchline: Nothing colourful in Rangula Ratnam!
Rating: 2.5/5
Will Padmavat release at least on Jan 25th?
Will Padmavat release on Jan 25th?
Everyone our us boast about the harmony inour nation, which has diverse cultures and communities. But this is only limited to textbooks and parliamentary speeches. In reality, things are far from the truth.
Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Padmavat’ (previously Padmavathi) has been already banned in Rajasthan and Gujarat. With the release date of the film locking in, the Karni Sena from Rajasthan is once again preparing itself to stall the film’s release. The organization leaders have called for nationwide protests on 17th of January.
On the other hand, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is caught between ‘well and wall’ position. The censor board reportedly asked the director to trim few parts of the ‘Ghoomar Song’. The song has received over 90+ million views on YouTube. The Karni Sena has raised objections even to that song, claiming, the director humiliated Rani Padmini by portraying her dancing in the song.
If Bhansali goes ahead with Censor Board’s view, he needs to trim the song. This can take away the song’s essence. Hence, the director opted to ‘cover’ the navel of Deepika Padukone, featured in the song using CG. This can lead to a delay in movie’s release. Only time can tell whether Bhansali can release movie ever in his life.
We are living in a country where even filmmaking should be on ‘prescribed lines’. Such is the pathetic situation of our society, in our country, and among ourselves.
