Power Star Pawan Kalyan starrer ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ which released on Jan 10th, bombed at the box office. After opening to poor reviews, the film’s collections had a 97% freefall, the highest in the Tollywood history, in seat occupancy in the US on its second day. Though the film remains as the biggest flop in recent times, given the budget, pre-release business and gross, the film manages to rake up some decent numbers.
The film has collected Rs. 59.7 crores as gross, and Rs. 39.15 crores as share in the Telugu states. The film amassed a total of Rs. 88.7 crores as gross, and Rs. 54.95 crores as share worldwide. Allotment of extra shows, increase in ticket prices and the US premier collections helped the movie to rake these numbers.
Another film released for 2018 Sankranti was Balakrishna’s ‘Jai Simha’. The film released on January 12th. The movie received a mixed to negative review upon release. But luckily, due to the complete failure of Agnyaathavaasi, Jai Simha managed to have a decent run and emerged as an ‘average’ grosser.
The movie raked up Rs. 23.93 crores worldwide, and Rs. 19.7 crores in the Telugu states. With no films at the box-office until January 26th, Jai Simha can end up with Rs. 21.5 crores in the Telugu states. The movie’s distributors are already in safe position and are likely to earn scrapings towards its final run.

IT Raids on Balakrishna Film!

Celebrating this Sankranti, Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi and Balakrishna’s Jai Simha released on 10th January and 12th January respectively. After Agnyaathavasi shocked everyone by turning out to be a disaster at the box office, everyone assumed that ‘Jai Simha’ would be a roaring success, cashing on the former film’s failure. Even Balakrishna’s ‘Jai Simha’ failed to roar at the box-office.
Given the family sentiment drama and typical Balakrishna dialogues, the film is trying to make some profits at the box-office. With no films until 26th of January, Agnyaathavaasi and Jai Simha can manage to rake up few more collections.
Despite such a disappointing failure, Jai Simha produced, C Kalyan is now being chased by the IT sleuths. The IT officials reportedly issued a legal notice, asking C Kalyan to file the expenditure for ‘Jai Simha’. After the producer failed to provide the respective details, the IT sleuths cracked-down C Kalyan’s office. They recovered few important documents, said sources.
It is yet-to-be-known the nature of the documents collected from the producer’s office. All the movies produced by C Kalyan so far failed to achieve commercial success.
Bigger than Baahubali? 1000-crore and 300-crore movies on the way!

After the stupendous success of Baahubali franchise, the Indian filmmakers believe that there is a great market for mythological and historical films. Baahubali kept the cash registers at the box-office ringing for over 20 – 25 days across the nation. Irrespective of the language and location, the movie emerged as the highest grosser in Indian film history.
Figuring out the budget and collections of the movie, the filmmakers are moving towards historical films. Interestingly, many subjects (scripts) are ready in the form of Hindu mythological and historical books. Taking inspiration from them, two movies are on the way.

The first movie is about Bhima, one of the five Pandavas. The film’s story will begin from the 17thParva of Mahabharata. VA Srikumar Menen is directing the film. The movie’s story is inspired by the novel ‘Randa Mooja’ written by Jnanpith Awardee Vasudev Nair, who will also work as a scriptwriter for the film. the movie is being bankrolled by BR Shetty. If everything goes according to plan, the movie is slated to release in 2020. The 1000-crore budget film will release in two parts, within a gap of 90 days.

The second movie, with an estimated budget of Rs. 300 crores, is based on the life of Karna. The movie is titled ‘Mahavir Karna’ and is being directed by RS Vimal. Tamil superstar Chiyaan Vikram will be playing the lead role of Karna in the movie. Though Vikram initially refused the offer, he acted after the director elaborated the script. The director promised thataudience will see a new facet of Karna, who is known for his extreme generousness.
It is great to see Indian filmmakers trying to reprise thehistorical character in a different perspective and facet, and bringing them closer to the current generation.
Is Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘God, Sex and Truth’ also a copy?

Ram Gopal Varma is a synonym for controversies and rumors, both in Tollywood and Bollywood film industry. The director has touched the pinnacle and saw the deepest lows in his career. His films, his posts, and even his comments create ripples in the film industries. Ram Gopal Varma himself stated that he usually takes inspiration from Hollywood movies for his films, and often change the screenplay and script, to suit our Indian audience.
The director went quiet after the launch of ‘Kadapa’ trailer. But he came back with a bang with his upcoming film (or web series) ‘God, Sex, and Truth’. Mia Malkova will be seen in the lead role. The movie’s trailer shocked everyone, given its content. Though RGV was criticized heavily, he was equally praised for film’s his bold and distinctive theme.
Shockingly, RGV once again under the line of fire. It is being heard that even ‘GST’ isn’t an original work.
An individual named P Jaya Kumar claimed that ‘God, Truth and Sex’ is a blind carbon copy of his work. He said, ‘I sent RGV my script for his review and comments. But after seeing GST trailer, I realized that it is a blind carbon copy of the script I sent to him. Everything uttered by Mia Malkova is lifted from my work’.
RGV is yet to react on P Jaya Kumar’s claim. Moreover, Jaya Kumar is not ready for any sort of off-the-court settlement. He is determined to pursue legal action against RGV.

Poonam Kaur ‘Porn Star comments…RGV says Katthi Mahesh is not a porn star
RGV says Katthi Mahesh is not a porn star
Shocking everyone, heroine Poonam Kaur barged into the war between Katthi Mahesh and Pawan Kalyan fans a few days ago. Soon, Poonam Kaur emerged as another victim of Katthi Mahesh. The self-claimed critic ensured that Poonam has been tainted and dishonoured, by relating her to Pawan Kalyan. What seemed to be a fight between Katthi Mahesh, and PK fans, exposed the ulterior motives of Katthi Mahesh.
After that incident, Poonam Kaur has gone silent. Her recent tweets once again rocked the micro-blogging site.
She posted:
‘Porn stars have better life and respect in India… than Indian girls… innocents are framed… misused and abused and if they stand up for something… all are prepared to kill her soul … mind …and body…’
These comments came to light after Katthi Mahesh praised pornstar Mia Malkova and Ram Gopal Varma’s film ‘God, Sex and Truth’, in his tweet.
Replying to Poonam Kaur, Ram Gopal Varma once again showed his unique styling in trolling celebrities. He said, ‘I God promisingly feeling that…. It’s no way slipper shot to @Kathimahesh’. His tweet clearly shows how he can troll (Katthi Mahesh in this case) in a subtle manner.
