PM Modi Emphasizes India-ASEAN Unity in Indonesia:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 20th ASEAN Summit held in Jakarta, Indonesia. During his address, he underscored the significance of ASEAN in India’s Act East policy and the Indo-Pacific initiative. PM mentioned that the India-ASEAN partnership has entered its fourth decade, and he co-chaired the Summit, commending Indonesian President Joko Widodo for organizing it.

PM Modi highlighted the commonalities that bond India and the ASEAN, such as history, geography, shared values, regional integration, and a commitment to peace and a multipolar world. He affirmed ASEAN’s central role in India’s Act East Policy and expressed support for ASEAN’s vision of ASEAN-India centrality and the Indo-Pacific. The theme of the 20th ASEAN Summit, “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth,” was addressed by PM i, who emphasized ASEAN’s pivotal role in global growth.

He also referenced the G20 theme under the Indian presidency, “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One Earth, One Family, One Future.” Furthermore, PM Modi called for amplifying the voice of the global south and highlighted the elevation of India-ASEAN relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022. PM Modi extended congratulations to Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen and acknowledged Singapore as the Country Coordinator and Laos, which is set to assume ASEAN chairmanship in 2024.

In addition to the ASEAN Summit, the PM attended the East Asia Summit. He was accorded a ceremonial welcome upon his arrival at Jakarta International Airport. The PM also met with the Indian diaspora and was welcomed by President Joko Widodo at the Jakarta Convention Centre, the venue for the ASEAN Summit. Before departing for the summit, PM Modi expressed his anticipation of discussing practical cooperation measures with other leaders to collectively address global challenges.

He highlighted the importance of engagement with ASEAN as a crucial aspect of India’s Act East Policy. The Prime Minister’s visit to Jakarta was at the invitation of President Joko Widodo. PM Modi is expected to return to New Delhi on Thursday evening in preparation for the G20 Summit scheduled for September 9-10.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders have made an appeal to the Director General of Police, K.V. They alleged that on a subsequent day, in the Bhimavaram Assembly segment, YSRCP supporters were allowed by the police to engage in provocative actions, disrupt the padayatra by displaying incendiary flex banners, issuing open challenges, and throwing stones. They further asserted that instead of preventing these attacks, the police disrupted the Telugu Desam supporters by apprehending some TD activists from their camp during midnight hours.

Furthermore, Reddy took to Twitter to highlight the issues faced by ordinary citizens, sharing images of flooded roads and neighborhoods. Amit Shah Expresses Confidence in BJP’s Re-election in MP with Over 150 Seats:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his confidence on Tuesday that the BJP would secure more than 150 seats and retain power in Madhya Pradesh in the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for the end of the year.

Launching the BJP’s ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra,’ a large-scale mass-contact program, in Madhya Pradesh’s Mahakaushal region starting from Mandla, Shah stated that the campaign aims to seek the blessings of the people for the government’s development efforts in the state in preparation for the upcoming assembly polls.

Five such yatras, or journeys, were initiated from five different locations in the state in anticipation of the November assembly elections. All five yatras will conclude in Bhopal on September 25, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address party workers.

Amit Shah emphasized that the ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ would serve as the foundation for the BJP to secure over 150 out of the total 230 assembly seats in the state.

He mentioned that Madhya Pradesh had historically been considered a ‘BIMARU’ (laggard) state due to the previous Congress regime. However, the BJP, particularly under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has transformed the state into an ‘unmatched’ one over the past four decades, Shah added. He commended Chouhan for his efforts in tribal development and cited Madhya Pradesh as the first state to implement the Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas (PESA) Act in 1996.

Amit Shah criticized Congress veterans Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath, accusing them of neglecting the state when they held the position of Chief Minister in Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted the discontinuation of 53 Central welfare schemes during Kamal Nath’s tenure in 2018.

Shah also criticized the Congress for its minority appeasement policy, noting the change in approach since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014. He emphasized the Modi government’s focus on the welfare of tribals, Dalits, the poor, and backward classes who have rights to the country’s natural resources.

In a public rally, Shah encouraged the people to make a choice between the two ideologies, highlighting the significant increase in allocations for tribal welfare under the current central government compared to the previous Congress regime.

Javadekar stated that they would maintain their dignity but highlighted the widespread anger against Udayanidhi across the country. He presented two demands: Udayanidhi must issue an immediate apology, and Congress should clarify whether it supported or opposed Stalin’s comments.

Meanwhile, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Karimnagar MP and former BJP state president, who was visiting the USA, remarked that it has become a trend for parties in the I.N.D.I.A bloc to criticize Hindu Dharma and insult Hindus. He cautioned that those who criticize Sanatan Dharma are also part of the same society that holds it dear.

Bandi Sanjay, speaking in Charlotte, North Carolina, drew attention to Udayanidhi’s grandfather describing Lord Rama as an engineer, while the grandson insulted Sanatan Dharma. He asserted that whether it’s Stalin, Sonia, or Rahul Gandhi, severe reactions can be expected if they speak against their faith.

Sanjay issued a warning that when BJP members like Nupur Sharma and Hyderabad MLA Raja Singh were accused of hurting religious sentiments, the party suspended them. If I.N.D.I.A leaders fail to condemn Udayanidhi’s comments, it would be seen as betrayal by Hindus, and the consequences would be significant.

National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson pointed out that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu recently visited Pyongyang, attempting to persuade North Korea to supply artillery ammunition to Russia. Watson stated, “We have information suggesting that Kim Jong Un anticipates ongoing discussions, including diplomatic engagements in Russia.”

She emphasized the U.S.’s position, urging North Korea to discontinue arms negotiations with Russia and adhere to its public commitments of refraining from providing or selling arms to Russia. Shoigu mentioned on Monday that the two countries might conduct joint military exercises. The initial report of Kim’s plan to meet Putin in Russia this month was published by The New York Times.

Last week, the White House disclosed intelligence indicating that Putin and Kim exchanged letters following Shoigu’s visit. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby characterized the letters as “preliminary,” but noted that talks between Russia and North Korea regarding a potential weapons sale were progressing.

According to party insiders, they are formulating a “Plan B,” which involves a review of the list of candidates initially announced for the Assembly elections, potentially transferring some of them to the Lok Sabha elections.

Even the party president and Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao’s intention to contest in two Assembly constituencies (Gajwel and Kamareddy) may be altered if the Assembly polls take place next year. While the Telangana Assembly elections were originally slated for December, the unexpected introduction of the “one nation, one election (ONOE)” concept by the central government has led the BRS leadership to speculate that the Telangana Assembly polls could be postponed until 2024.

Even if the implementation of “one nation, one election” experiences delays and challenges, the BRS leadership believes that the Centre might opt for concurrent Legislative Assembly elections in nine states, including Telangana, alongside the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 as a preliminary step toward the broader initiative.

As per the original schedule, Assembly elections were set for December in Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Mizoram. Meanwhile, Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim were planned for April. The Lok Sabha elections are currently scheduled for April-May 2024. The BRS leadership anticipates that the Centre may favor Assembly polls in these nine states along with the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

Biden Eager for India Trip but Disappointed by Xi’s Absence at G20 Summit:

President Joe Biden has voiced his excitement about his upcoming journey to India this week while expressing his disappointment that his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, will not be attending the G20 summit in New Delhi. The White House announced that Biden will be traveling to India on September 7 to participate in the G20 Summit and will engage in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 8, held on the sidelines of this historic gathering.

As the current president of the G20, India is hosting the annual summit of this influential group in New Delhi on September 9 and 10. When questioned by reporters before his trip, He was asked whether he was looking forward to his visits to India and Vietnam, to which he responded, “Yes, I am.”

Biden expressed his disappointment regarding the absence of Chinese President Xi Jinping from the summit in New Delhi, stating in response to a question, “I am disappointed, but I am going to get to see him.”

Jagan’s Visit to Idupulapaya on YSR’s Death Anniversary:

Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has scheduled a visit to Idupulapaya in YSR Kadapa district to commemorate the anniversary of his father’s passing on September 2. Using a special aircraft, the Chief Minister will arrive at Kadapa airport from Gannavaram around 10.30 a.m. and then proceed to Idupulapaya by helicopter. During his visit, AP CM will participate in prayer services at Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s memorial and offer his respects to his father. Subsequently, he will engage with the residents of the Pulivendula area before returning to Gannavaram airport.

The Kadapa police have enhanced security measures in and around Idupulapaya and other parts of the Kadapa district in preparation for the Chief Minister’s visit. Additionally, CM’s sister, YS Sharmila, will also pay her respects to her father at 8 a.m. on the same day.

The Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) has taken the initiative to promote awareness about eco-friendly idols during the upcoming Ganesh festival by launching a quiz competition. This competition offers a substantial prize pool of Rs 10 lakh in each district across the state, aiming to engage and educate students and the general public on environmentally conscious practices.

In each district, participants in the quiz competition will have the opportunity to win cash awards, with the top three prizes totaling Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000, and Rs 3,000, respectively. Additionally, all participants will receive e-certificates as tokens of recognition for their participation.

Krishna Aditya Sriramsetti, the member-secretary of TSPCB, has urged students to actively participate in the quiz, which will be open for registration and participation from September 1 to September 30. The quiz can be accessed through the official website of TSPCB at www.tspcb.cgg.gov.in.

This initiative by the TSPCB serves a dual purpose: not only does it encourage eco-friendly practices during the festive season, but it also provides an opportunity for individuals to gain knowledge and win prizes. It underscores the importance of environmental conservation and the role that education and awareness play in achieving sustainability goals.

Telangana HC Seeks Mediation in Rs 4 Cr Dispute:

The Telangana High Court has taken a significant step towards resolving a longstanding issue between the AP State Film, Television, and Theatre Development Corporation Limited and the Telangana state government, which involves approximately Rs 4 crore. In an effort to find an amicable solution, the court has recommended that the matter be submitted to mediation.

The crux of the matter lies in the corporation’s claim that the Telangana state government owes them a substantial sum of Rs 4,07,71,134 for the utilization of their building premises. Despite the corporation’s repeated attempts to settle this outstanding bill, the government has neither disputed the claim nor provided a response.

Recognizing the need for intervention and resolution, the Telangana High Court has appointed Justice Challa Kodanda Ram, a former judge of the Telangana Court, to mediate the dispute. Parties involved in the dispute have been directed to appear before Justice Challa Kodanda Ram on September 12 to begin the mediation process.

This decision by the court underscores the importance of finding equitable solutions to financial disputes, ensuring that all parties involved receive fair treatment and that outstanding financial obligations are met. Mediation offers a collaborative and less adversarial approach to resolving such matters, and it is hoped that this process will lead to a satisfactory resolution for both the AP State Film, Television, and Theatre Development Corporation Limited and the Telangana state government.
