Israel Didn’t Initiate This Conflict but Will See It Through Netanyahu:

In a strong warning to Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday that while Israel did not initiate this conflict, it is determined to see it through.

As part of its response to Hamas, Israel has deployed 300,000 troops, marking the largest mobilization since the 1973 Yom Kippur War when 400,000 reservists were called up, as reported by Times of Israel.

Netanyahu addressed the nation, emphasizing, “Israel is at war. We didn’t seek this war; it was thrust upon us in a brutal and savage manner. However, despite not initiating this conflict, Israel will bring it to a conclusion.”

The surprise Hamas attack on Saturday morning has resulted in over 2,300 Israelis sustaining injuries and more than 700 deaths. Leader condemned Hamas and declared that they would pay a substantial price for their actions.

“Hamas will realize that by attacking us, they have made a historic mistake. We will exact a price that will be etched in their memory and in the memory of Israel’s other adversaries for many years to come,” Netanyahu asserted.

He also highlighted the plight of those taken hostage, describing the brutal attacks carried out by Hamas as heinous and savage. He urged the international community to unite against Hamas, equating it to ISIS.

“Hamas is equivalent to ISIS. Just as the forces of civilization united to defeat ISIS, the world’s civilized nations must support Israel in defeating Hamas,” Netanyahu stressed.

He expressed gratitude to U.S. President Joe Biden and other world leaders for their support, emphasizing the commitment of the United States to Israel’s security.

Netanyahu concluded his speech by stating, “In fighting Hamas, Israel is not only defending its own people but also fighting for every nation that opposes barbarism. Israel will emerge victorious in this conflict, and when it does, the entire civilized world will triumph.”

The Israeli military, under the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has pledged to take aggressive action against Hamas, unlike any seen before.

Hamas has threatened to execute civilian hostages without warning and broadcast the killings if Israel targets individuals in Gaza. The group claims to be holding more than 100 hostages, including Israeli army officers, as reported by Media.

Google Maintains Dominance in Search Engine Market with a 92% Share: Report:

Google continues to assert its dominance in the search engine market, with the tech giant holding an impressive 91.7% share of the market as of August this year. This position places Google well ahead of its competitors, including Microsoft’s Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo, according to a recent report.

In contrast, Microsoft, which integrated artificial intelligence (AI) into its Bing search engine to challenge Google’s search engine supremacy, only managed to secure a 3% market share, as reported by Techopedia.com. Earlier this month, Microsoft’s Chairman and CEO, Satya Nadella, acknowledged that Bing was not on par with this and suggested that becoming Apple’s default search engine could help Bing expand its global search market presence.

Other search engines, such as Yandex (1.5%), Yahoo (1.2%), Baidu (1.1%), and DuckDuckGo (0.5%), held smaller market shares.

By August, the company’s dominance extended to a remarkable 95.2% of the global mobile search engine market, underscoring the company’s commitment to optimizing the mobile search experience, according to the report. Following this in the mobile search market, both Yandex and Baidu held 1.3% of the market share, while Yahoo accounted for 0.6%, and Bing and DuckDuckGo each captured 0.5%.

Furthermore, the report revealed that the United States was the primary source of traffic to Google.com, contributing 26.7%, with India (4.6%), Brazil (4.4%), the UK (3.9%), and Japan (3.9%) being other significant contributors.

Telangana High Court Grants Permission for SCR Cooperative Elections:

On Monday, Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court granted permission for the general body elections of the South Central Railway Employees Co-operative Credit Society in Secunderabad to proceed.

The polling is scheduled at the headquarters on Tuesday and at line stations on October 12.

Previously, the court had issued a stay on the election following a petition by society member Dandu Ratnakar Kishore Kumar. Kumar had raised concerns about appointing a retired officer from the cooperative department as the returning officer, insisting that only an assistant or deputy registrar should hold that position.

After hearing the submissions from the SCR Employees Co-operative Credit Society on Monday, Justice B. Vijayasen Reddy lifted the stay orders. This decision allows the society’s 42,000 members, spread across five southern states, to participate in the election of 210 delegates.

These delegates will, in turn, vote for 21 directors of the managing committee. The society had filed a writ appeal requesting the court to prioritize the matter. When the case was listed before a division bench, Chief Justice Alok Aradhe noted that a single judge was handling the matter. Following Justice Vijaysen Reddy’s proceedings, the writ appeal was concluded.

Meta’s Threads Introduces Trending Topics Feature Similar to X:

In an effort to compete with Elon Musk’s X, Meta’s Threads app is reportedly gearing up to launch a trending topics feature.

This potential feature came to light when an app developer shared screenshots of it, originally posted by a Meta employee. These screenshots displayed a numbered list of trending topics, along with the number of active “threads” discussing each item, as reported by TechCrunch.

User Willian Max spotted the post, and he believes it was meant for an internal feed accessible only to Meta employees. He humorously commented, “Oops. I believe the trending topics feature accidentally made its way onto the timeline in Threads,” commented Willian Max.

The screenshot revealed top trends, including Drake’s new album at the number one spot, as well as other current topics like Billboard’s Latin Music Week and Disney+’s release of Loki Season 2. Unlike X, Threads’ main Trends list does not appear to include additional trending lists categorized by News, Sports, Entertainment, or personalized “For You” trends, according to the report.

If implemented, this addition to Threads would be a significant step towards making it a stronger competitor to X.

The app, which is operated by Instagram, aims to attract users away from the Musk-owned microblogging network by capitalizing on the frequent changes and disruptions there.

Meanwhile, Meta is gearing up to allow Threads users to delete their accounts without affecting their Instagram profiles by December. Currently, Threads users have no option to delete their accounts without also deleting their Instagram accounts.

CM Jagan Stresses Protection of AP’s Krishna Waters Rights:

During the meeting, concerns were raised about how these developments were harmful to the state’s interests.

Officials pointed out that the guidelines outlined in the State Apportionment Act are being violated by the notification issued by the Central government, which is in direct contravention of the State Reorganisation Act, particularly Section 89.

They emphasized that the AP Reorganisation Act originally required states to adhere to the allocations made prior to the state’s bifurcation, but these allocations are currently being disregarded.

The gazette notification was released despite numerous pending petitions before the Supreme Court, a move that officials believe goes against Class 4 of the Inter-State River Disputes Act.

According to the law, tribunal allocations and transfers made before 2002 should not be re-evaluated, as noted by officials.

Officials argued that considering Andhra Pradesh‘s allocation of water from Polavaram to another basin in the Godavari River, it is not reasonable to demand additional allocations from the Krishna River to Telangana, as this would result in a loss for the state.

The Chief Minister Jagan instructed the officials to do everything in their power to safeguard the state’s interests and made it clear that there could be no compromise in this regard. Additionally, in response to the publication of the KWDT-2 guidelines in the gazette, the CM Jagan directed officials to send letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the issue.

Karnataka Deputy CM Excludes Property Tax Increase in Bengaluru:

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, responsible for Bengaluru city affairs, announced on Monday that there will be no immediate increase in property tax rates in the city. However, a new team will be established to enhance tax collection efforts, with a particular focus on identifying and addressing tax evasion.

Shivakumar also revealed plans for a comprehensive property survey to accurately assess individual property ownership, enabling the city to collect taxes based on the actual properties owned. These initiatives are expected to significantly boost the city’s tax revenue, potentially tripling the current collections.

Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the importance of monitoring tax evasion. He highlighted cases where property owners understated their construction areas, despite power and water bills indicating otherwise.

In terms of water supply to Bengaluru, Shivakumar noted the increasing demand for water. He mentioned that the completion of the Cauvery 5th stage project will provide the city with 750 million liters of water daily in the near future. Additionally, he outlined plans to upgrade 20 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) to treat effluent water and supply it to the Anekal and Attibelle regions.

Regarding road-widening efforts in the city, Shivakumar acknowledged the complexities associated with land compensation and technical challenges. He suggested that constructing more flyovers, Metro rails, and tunnels would be the primary solutions to alleviate traffic congestion in Bengaluru.

The Deputy Chief Minister announced the launch of a help desk and a website called “Sahaya Hasta” (Helping Hand) to receive resident complaints. These complaints will be monitored by staff at his District Incharge Office and his Deputy Chief Minister’s office.

ACB Court Extends Chandrababu Naidu’s Remand in Skill Development Case:

Previously, the Vijayawada Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) court had reserved its judgment on the bail petition of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. This decision came after the ACB court extended the remand of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief in connection with the alleged multi-crore skill development scam case until October 19.

Chandrababu Naidu, the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP leader, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) last month in connection with the alleged multi-crore skill development scam case. This arrest led to political turmoil in the state, with many TDP leaders claiming it to be a politically motivated “witch-hunt” based on false allegations.

In the midst of these developments, Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department chief N Sanjay asserted that Naidu was the main conspirator in the AP Skill Development scam, stating that Naidu had orchestrated corruption during his tenure as Chief Minister.

Furthermore, the Supreme Court did not grant interim relief to Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development scam case on Tuesday. The court has scheduled a hearing for Naidu’s plea on October 9.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Chandrababu Naidu’s wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, and several Telugu Desam Party leaders staged a protest against his arrest. They symbolically switched off the lights at the party’s temporary camp office and lit earthen lamps in protest.
