“See You Very Soon,” PM Modi Tweets Ahead Of Trump’s Arrival

0

Moments ahead of US President Donald Trump’s appearance in India on Monday, India PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “India anticipates your coming. See you very shortly in Ahmedabad”. PM Modi’s tweeted his reply to Trump’s post as he was traveling out of the US yesterday: Departing for India with Melania!

On his first visit to India, President Trump will arrive in Ahmedabad, the most populous city in PM Modi’s home state Gujarat. Prime Minister tweeted that Your visit is persisting to further strengthen the alliance between our nations. President Trump will arrive with First Lady Melania Trump and his family, probably before noon at the Ahmedabad airport, where they will be welcomed by PM Modi.

The US visitors will be given a grand welcome as they drive to the newly-built Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Cricket Stadium – said to be the world’s largest – where PM Modi and President Trump will headline a mega gathering billed as “Namaste, Trump.”

Before leaving Washington DC on Sunday night, President Trump said: “We will be with millions and millions. I get along very well with PM Modi… he is a friend,” he said, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told him “this (“Namaste, Trump”) will be the biggest event they have ever had”.

President Trump’s convoy will be treated to various cultural programs along the route. The roadshow will also move over a portion of the city where a four-foot-tall, 500-meter-long wall has been developed, experts say, to cover slums. Later today, the Trumps will go to Agra to view the Taj Mahal before traveling to Delhi, where the influential part of the visit takes place.

On Tuesday, PM Modi and President Trump will continue talks in which an Indo-US trade agreement is expected to be addressed. Differences between the two countries over proposed tariffs by India to protect domestic manufacturers and the US President’s sharp words complaining about New Delhi’s move have diminished chances of any major deal during this visit. India’s move occurred after the US abandoned the general system of decisions that enabled the exportation of $5.6 billion value of goods.

The government has sought restoration of trade concessions that the US withdrew in 2019 and greater access to US markets for its pharmaceutical and farm products. Officials have said Trump plans to raise the subject of religious freedom during his talks with PM Modi against the backdrop of protests across India against a citizenship law that critics say discriminates against Muslims.

De Kock, bowlers star as SA script turnaround to level series

0

Captained by Quinton de Kock‘s 70 and some effervescent bowling display, South Africa recorded a 12-run victory at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Sunday to equal the T20I series 1-1.

In fact, for most sections of the game, and particularly the chase, Australia seemed in a relaxed environment. The alarm had begun to set in after the second wicket stand itself when David Warner and Steve Smith were batting, but also when the latter fell, the guests stayed in a stable situation at 98 for 2 in 12.3 overs. Warner was all strength and fiber, destroying the pacers all around the territory. By the time his opening ally Finch befell for a 12-ball 14, Australia had raced away to 48.

It started with Tabraiz Shamsi troubling Smith and Warner with his spin and precision. The number of dot balls moved up and the boundaries were less to appear. As the Australian innings proceeded, the batsmen attempted too arduous for the boundaries, and in turn, kept losing wickets. Lungi Ngidi thumped thrice, at critical moments to break Australia’s impulse. There were also some excellent works on the field by South Africa, but also a regulation catch dropped by Quinton de Kock early on and du Plessis stepping on the boundary ropes after holding a catch.

After a quick start, getting 28 off his first 16 balls, he fought to keep the eloquence of his opportunities going also because, at critical times, he saw himself off the strike. He continued unbeaten but plucked up only 39 runs in his next 40 balls.

In hindsight, maybe yes. After having picked up 59 runs from the powerplay, outdoors losing a wicket, they arranged to sum only 99 in the next 84 balls. It was mainly due to the stingy turn by Ashton Agar in the between overs, and some excellent bowling by Kane Richardson and Cummins in the end. The other batsmen lacked the eloquence and timing with which de Kock was carting the bowlers.

Brief scores: SA 158/4 in 20 overs (de Kock 70, R der Dussen 37; K Richardson 2-21, P Cummins 1-31) beat AUS 146/6 in 20 overs (D Warner 67*, S Smith 29; L Ngidi 3-41, A Nortje 1-24) by 12 runs.

India Lost the First Test After Boult and Southee show

0

Trent Boult and Tim Southee squashed expectations of a big Indian recovery initial into the fourth day’s action to power New Zealand to a large 1-0 lead in Wellington – and also their 100th Test victory. The big result – a win by 10 wickets – was a culmination of thorough domination across each of the four days as they didn’t allow the No.1 Test side in the world any breathing space to make their way out of a tricky situation on multiple occasions.

India began the day on 144 for 4 with all hopes resting on Ajinkya Rahane’s shoulders, but that lasted all of 13 balls. Rahane departed first and then India stuttered to 162 for 7, running a real risk of suffering an embarrassing innings defeat. Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma somehow dragged India out of that quandary but surrendered soon to set New Zealand a target of nine runs.

Rahane and Hanuma Vihari resumed their 118-ball alliance with the need to double – or maybe even triple – that figure if India were to stand a chance of heist. What they ran into instead was a prime Boult and Southee with several ‘setting up’ tricks up their sleeve. It took Boult just seven balls to Rahane to switch the angle and strike straightaway. The left-arm bowled from round the stumps to the right-hander and once again used the crease with great effect. The natural inward angle on the length ball and the impeccable line forced Rahane to commit on the front foot, and he ended up poking the ball to BJ Watling.

Southee then used the oldest trick in the book – two away swingers followed by one that moved in late – to breach Vihari’s bat-pad gap and leave India tottering at 148 for 6. Ashwin had a second chance of the match to re-enhance his all-round abilities but came up short once again. The first innings dismissal – off a ripping, pitched up away swinger from Southee – was still playing on his mind as he kept playing for the movement away from him.

Southee got one to jag back in late and struck Ashwin on the front pad. Though it looked like a decision that could go either way, Aleem Dar raised his finger immediately on appeal and Ashwin curiously, decided against reviewing it. A review wouldn’t have made a difference to the decision, though, as the replays showed that the ball would’ve just about hit the leg stump.

Ishant Sharma tried to take a leaf out of Tim Southee’s batting book – clearing his front foot and play flat-batted hits in the company of Rishabh Pant. The pair somehow avoided the ignominy of an innings defeat – which would’ve looked dire considering India began the day with a deficit of just 39 runs and had six wickets in hand.

That though was a very small consolation, as Rishabh and Jasprit Bumrah became Southee’s fourth and fifth victims of the innings in the first over with the new ball.

Tom Latham and Tom Blundell finished the custom in the second over for a breakthrough victory at the Basin Reserve.

Brief Scores: India 165 & 191 (Mayank Agarwal 58, Ajinkya Rahane 29; Trent Boult 4-39, Tim Southee 5-61) lose to New Zealand 348 (Kane Williamson 89, Ross Taylor 44, Kyle Jamieson 44; Ishant Sharma 5-68, Ravichandran Ashwin 3-99) & 9/0 by 10 wickets

SL Vs WI: West Indies look to seize a victory in Sri Lanka

0

West Indies haven’t had much to gloat whenever they have visited the Sri Lankan shores. On their past two assignments, when they visited for an ODI series, West Indies failed to obtain even a single win. But the modern story implies that a reversal in fortunes could very well be on the boards. The Caribbean outfit is high on reliance having blanked Ireland 3-0 at home lately but more importantly, they have done well in Asia by the end of 2019 which will keep them in good stead.

Having whitewashed Afghanistan 3-0 in India, West Indies sprung a surprise by convincingly defeating India in the very first ODI of the three-match series and pushed India deep in the series decider as well. In terms of quality, Sri Lanka is far off from being an established unit compared to India and there has been a constant change in terms of personnel as well. They were just comfortably beaten 2-0 in Pakistan which will give West Indies more hope.

The visitors will still miss the services of Shimron Hetmyer though who played a key role in his side’s strong performances in India. The dynamic young batsman has been dropped on fitness grounds and that allows Darren Bravo to re-establish himself in the ODI side. It will also add additional responsibility to the likes of Roston Chase, Nicholas Pooran and skipper Kieron Pollard in the middle order against the Sri Lankan spinners and Chase did kick off the tour in style with an unbeaten century in the practice game that the men in maroon won convincingly.

For Sri Lanka, this is a big test. Some of the first-choice players didn’t tour Pakistan recently and Dimuth Karunaratne is now back at the helm. Gunathilaka and Fernando are decreed out of injuries but allrounder Thisara Perera makes another comeback. There is sufficient expertise in the squad but it has to alter to outcomes in their favor. A win will not only benefit them get out of their current groove but also will expand their reliance big time ahead of a tour to England next month which will prove to be a test bigger than this.

Microsoft, the US software giant, is preparing to enlarge its Defender antivirus to Android and iOS, will showcase a preview during the RSA Conference that will be held on February 24 – 28. Microsoft Defender was launched back in 2006 after various beta firmware and is now recognized as Windows Defender for Windows users.

According to a letter shared by the organization on Thursday, the Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) will not only oppose threats from third-party applications but will moreover share analytics with Azure Sentinel security teams, to “observe and handle threats across Microsoft for future”.

The company will also be extending the ATP for Linux, the note added.

Speaking more on the company’s vision, Rob Lefferts, Microsoft corporate vice president told CNBC, “They [iOS and Android operating systems] are pretty safe but pretty safe is not the same as safe. Malware does occur on those stages”, he stated figuring that the ATP feature will tackle phishing endeavors.

It is still unclear when and how the tech giant is planning to roll out the Defender app for mobile. The latest announcement by Microsoft is an attempt by the company to further tap into the smartphone industry, after providing antivirus security to PCs for decades. Beginning this week, the organization originated its all-in-one Office app for both Android and iOS that grants admittance to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

In 2019, Microsoft also partnered with Samsung to contract some of its smartphones pre-installed with Microsoft Android applications. The Redmond organization in 2018 took Windows Defender Browser Protection to modern web browsers, Google Chrome and Firefox in the sort of an add-on.

Pragyan Ojha retires from all forms of cricket

0

Indian left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket with immediate effect. Ojha’s last competitive appearance came in November 2018 in a first-class game for Bihar with whom he had a very short stint. The 33-year-old has also played for Hyderabad and Bengal in the first-class circuit.

Ojha made his India debut in 2008 in the Asia Cup against Bangladesh. His T20I debut was also against the same opponent in the following year during the World T20 where he bagged four wickets to be named man of the match. Even though he played only 18 ODIs and six T20Is in total, Ojha’s success predominantly came in the longest format of the game. He made his debut against Sri Lanka at home in 2009 and went on to pick more than 100 wickets.

Quite ironically, his last appearance for India saw him come up with a man of the match performance as he picked up ten wickets in total in India’s innings win over West Indies. The game was also Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell Test. Ojha finishes his Test career with 113 wickets in 24 Tests.

He also had success in the initial years of the IPL, winning the title with the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in 2009 and later again with Mumbai Indians. He also won the purple cap in the 2010 edition for picking the most number of wickets. His last IPL appearance came in 2015.

“To be an Indian cricketer and represent the country at the highest level was always a dream I cherished as a youngster,” Ojha said in a statement shared on Twitter.

Ojha also said that he is very thankful to Mr. V.V.S Laxman for mentoring him like an elder brother, Mr. Venkatapathy Raju for being the role model he always looked to emulate, Mr. Harbhajan Singh for being a constant adviser and Mr. M.S. Dhoni for providing him with the honorable opportunity to wear the Indian Cap. Lastly, he was certain that looking back at his career will always fill him with a sense of pride. The most significant consequences would be getting my Test Cap from Mr. Sachin Tendulkar and achieving the feat of taking 100 Test scalps. I wish to continue offering the growth of Indian Cricket in every potential way.

Asus ROG Phone 3 to Come Pre-Installed With Google Stadia

0

Asus ROG Phone 3 is proclaimed to get with Stadia game streaming application pre-installed. There is no information on when the phone is set to launch, but the organization has unveiled this evolution for the next Asus ROG Phone. This comes soon after Google declared support of Stadia game streaming application on the Asus ROG Phone 2. Stadia gaming platform was first launched only for Chrome OS machines, and the Pixel phone group, but the organization is now enlarging support to non-Pixel smartphones as well.

Admitting that the ROG phone series from Asus is made to be gaming-centric, the joining of Stadia should be appreciated by hard-core gaming enthusiasts. Asus announced the development in a press note and said that the next-gen Asus ROG phone will come with Stadia pre-installed. Stadia is a cloud-based service, and its value-add into a gaming feature-packed phone remains to be seen.

Notably, the Asus-Stadia partnership runs until 2021, and the Stadia app will only be preloaded in participating territories. The Stadia partnership with ROG covers Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States. So, Indian consumers won’t get Stadia on ROG phones.

To recall, Google Stadia was launched last year with the aim to allow gaming on mobile devices, TVs, and PCs, eliminating the need for consoles.

Apart from the Asus ROG Phone 2, Google newly declared Stadia support on non-pixel phones from Samsung like the Galaxy S10 series and the Galaxy Note 10 series.

Google Play Removes Several Android Apps Serving Disruptive Ads

0

Google Play Store has removed almost 600 Android apps due to serving “disruptive” ads, the company announced through a blog post on Thursday. Alongside announcing the removal, the search giant revealed that it had banned all the apps that have been removed from the Play Store from its ad monetization platforms Google AdMob and Google Ad Manager for breaking its disruptive ad strategy and denied an interstitial policy. The development of smartphone selection is giving a push to mobile ad scams in modern times.

As per Google’s definition, disruptive ads are “are displayed to users in unexpected ways, including impairing or interfering with the usability of device functions”. The policy underlines that these ads appear in a way that results in inadvertent clicks and interfere with normal use — without providing a clear means to dismiss the ad.

This is an invasive manoeuvre that appears in poor user expertise that often disturbs key device functions and this way can lead to accidental ad clicks that waste advertiser spends stated Per Bjorke, Senior Product Manager, Ad Traffic Quality, Google.

Google claims to have a machine-learning based approach in place to detect when apps show out-of-context ads. This has helped enforce the latest removal. Going forward, the company is also in plans to bring new technologies “to detect and prevent emerging threats that can generate invalid traffic, including disruptive ads, and to find more methods to accommodate and develop” the platform and ecosystem strategies to bypass bad behavior for both users and promoters.

The apps that have been excluded from Google Play Store were essentially made by developers based in China, Hong Kong, India, and Singapore, Bjorke told BuzzFeed News. However, the names of particular apps and developers continue to be a conundrum.

Bjorke also particularized BuzzFeed News that Google had begun refunding the brands whose advertisements were presented through disruptive ads.

Google attempted to take similar protective measures in the past as well. In July last year, Google banned Chinese developer CooTek for using an adware plugin to send disruptive ads even when an app was not in use. The Android maker in the past also spotted hosting apps on Google Play Store with adware.

NZ Vs IND: Jamieson stars on Day 1 before rain ruins play

0

After producing a nervous start on a breezy morning in Wellington, India could still not reach a break in the post-Lunch session, as they lost half their side after the drinks break in the second session. A cagey Rishabh Pant found his way out of early trouble to keep Ajinkya Rahane company, as India managed just 44 runs in the second session.

A bout of start-stop showers right at the stroke of Tea break ensured there would be no further play, as even repeated inspection didn’t bring about the chance for resumption.

The second session cautiousness was down to what had transpired in the second half of the morning session, as debutant Kyle Jamieson took out Cheteshwar Pujara with peach and then placed out the tried-and-test fifth stump line snare and absorbed Virat Kohli into it.

Mayank was unconvincing but efficient in placing a cover on the fall of wickets while Rahane started hustling and dispensed good feet move to neutralize any LBW chances against the fast bowlers to get going. There was a big innings-reviving partnership to be had but the New Zealand bowlers had other ideas.

India’s post-Lunch position was partially their own doing. Having taken the first session loop when New Zealand consistently penetrated through their pacers, Mayank Agarwal fell to a rather soft dismissal when he top-edged a leg-side short ball from Trent Boult to Jamieson at fine leg. Up until then he and Ajinkya Rahane had shored up the Indian innings after Jamieson’s double burst.

There was yet some hope for a revival as Hanuma Vihari joined forces with Rahane, who was beginning to settle in and dealing rather easily with the extra bounce that the Basin Reserve track offered. But Jamieson wasn’t done rattling the visitors as once again, he struck right after the drinks break when India seem like they’d started to regain control. To Jamieson’s credit, he continued with his attacking lines, from wide of the crease. An angle in a full-length ball to Vihari brought about the No.6 batsman’s end as he was made to play at it and edged it behind to Watling.

Playing ahead of Saha, who’d gained back his position in the home series versus South Africa, Rishabh Pant was put beneath the pump straight away as the uncomfortable bounce that Jamieson created had the left-handed batsman in pain.

Pant unconvincingly defended good length balls and looked all at sea, but rode the wave eventually to get to Tea break on 10 off 37 balls. At the other end was Rahane, who brought his away reputation to the fore and blunted New Zealand’s attack from one end. He batted a lot slower in the second session, but that was down to Mayank and Vihari’s dismissal more than his own cautiousness, as he finished on an unbeaten 38 off 122 at the break, which coincided with the arrival of showers.

Brief Scores: India 122/5 (Ajinkya Rahane 38*; Kyle Jamieson 3-38) vs New Zealand

BJP to Appoint new presidents to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

0

Former Maharashtra governor and senior BJP leader Vidyasagar Rao said that the Bharatiya Janata Party would be moving forward with renewed enthusiasm in the two Telugu states. He who met BJP national president JP Nadda on Thursday asserted that new Presidents for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will be appointed soon. Speaking to media, Rao has said that they have emerged as an alternative to the TRS.

He alleged that TRS is politicizing the CAA issue though there is no harm in the acting borough by the center to any section of the society. ‘The BJP will fight for making September 17 as Telangana formation, which is happening in Karnataka and Maharashtra, ‘ Vidyasagar Rao said. He emphasized the importance of the mother tongue and staged an event in Hyderabad on Friday. He said that students should not feel troubled with languages at home and school.

Pixel 5 to get Reverse Wireless Charging Feature

0

Android 11‘s Developer Preview was released a day ago, and its hidden code reveals a probable key feature for the next-gen Pixel 5. The phone’s launch is still far away, but the latest code suggests that the Pixel 5 will support reverse wireless charging. For those uninformed, this feature will facilitate users to charge other compatible devices by arranging them on the back panel of the Pixel 5. The phone should launch sometime in October, as traditionally Google is known to host its annual Pixel hardware event during that time every year.

XDA Developer’s Mishaal Rahman spotted this feature inside the code of the first Android 11 Developer Preview rolled out just a day ago. He was digging around the Android 11 system dump for the Pixel 4, wherein he noticed a new Battery Share feature inside SettingsGoogle. Upon launching the new feature, he realized that this is nothing but Google’s version of reverse wireless charging.

Rahman has also shared a screenshot that shows the ‘Battery Share’ feature inside the code, and there’s a warning that reads, “Your phone’s battery will run out faster when using Battery Share.” The screenshot also reveals that the Battery Share feature will not only work with phones, but will also be compatible with earbuds, watches, and more. This could mean that the feature will work with Qi-compatible accessories and smartphones.

Rahman records that the enterprise name was introduced with “com.google.android” rather than “com.android”. This suggests that this Battery Share characteristic is possible a Google phone feature and not an AOSP one. Given that reverse wireless charging is a flagship-exclusive characteristic, it can be hypothesized that the Pixel 5 could be the first to get it. Of course, all of this should be taken with a grain of salt, as Google may have set nothing in stone for now. More Pixel 5 phone details should leak in the coming months, as the launch period nears.

India Face Uphill Task Against New Zealand In Wellington

0

India will face their toughest challenge since the start of the World Test Championship when they take on New Zealand in Wellington for the first Test of the two-match series. India will look to maintain their perfect record in the World Test Championship but will have to battle a formidable New Zealand pace attack in windy conditions at the Basin Reserve.

While New Zealand was handed a boost in the form of a fit-again Trent Boult, they may be without the services of veteran bowler Neil Wagner, who is expecting the birth of his child. India has a full-strength squad to choose from apart from opener Rohit Sharma, who is nursing a calf injury. youngster Prithvi Shaw is likely to make his return to Test cricket opposite fellow opener Mayank Agarwal in Rohit’s absence.

Shaw, who last played a Test match in October 2018, made his ODI debut against New Zealand in the just-concluded series between the two teams, and he is expected to partner Agarwal at the top of India’s batting order.

Shaw faced competition from Shubman Gill, who impressed with a double-century and a century against New Zealand A, but captain Virat Kohli hinted ahead of the match that it will be Shaw who will get the nod.

With Ishant Sharma also fit to play, having recovered from an ankle injury, India is likely to go in with a bowling attack comprising him, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, with Ravichandran Ashwin as the spinner.

Hanuma Vihari, who scored a century in the warm-up game, is set to start as the sixth batsman. While Tim Southee and Trent Boult are sure to start for New Zealand, there are doubts over Neil Wagner’s involvement in the first match. Wagner is expecting the birth of his child and may leave the team to join his family.

Matt Henry was called up as cover for Wagner, with the uncapped Kyle Jamieson also in the squad. In the spin department, New Zealand called up Ajaz Patel ahead of leg-spinner Todd Astle.

New Zealand: Kane Williamson (c), Tom Blundell, Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham (vice-captain), Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Ajaz Patel, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Neil Wagner, BJ Watling (wicket-keeper), Matt Henry

India: Virat Kohli (Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini, Ishant Sharma

PCB suspends Umar Akmal under anti-corruption code

0

Umar Akmal has been suspended with immediate effect by the Pakistan Cricket Board under the governing body’s anti-corruption code. While PCB has not divulged details pertaining to Umar’s latest transgression, their decision has put paid to the 29-year-old’s plans of participating in the forthcoming season of the Pakistan Super League which begins on February 20. Umar’s franchise, Quetta Gladiators, will be allowed to sign a replacement.

While a board-appointed or independent tribunal will determine if Umar is indeed guilty of wrongdoing, the invoking of Article 4.7.1 of the anti-corruption code is a potential indicator of the graveness of the offense. Android 11 is here. Google has released the first developer preview of Android 11 and it is now available to download and test for the developers. Google typically publishes developer builds of new Android variants in March, but Android 11’s first developer preview has been published quicker than the normal release period. Speaking about characteristics, it brings improvements for foldable phones and screen varieties, new camera abilities, privacy-centric tools, handy app performance, 5G-related developments, and a lot more. Aside from releasing the first Android 11 Developer Preview, Google has also revealed the rollout timeline for upcoming builds to its stable release.

Google states that system pictures, as well as GSI data for the initial Android 11 Developer Preview, are now ready to download for the Pixel 4, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3, and the Pixel 2. Google makes it clear that the preview build is stringently for developers and is not proper for regular users. However, beta testing will soon be exposed to regular Android users on invitational support, and groups for the same will open soon.

Android 11: What’s new

Android 11 brings support for a wider range of screen types such as waterfall and hole-punch. Developers can now optimize their apps to let them use the curved regions for creating meaningful interactions. There is now a dedicated discussion section in the notifications screen where users can discover their continuous conversations overall apps. Android 11 also includes the Bubbles API on notifications, which causes chat bubbles to the desk so that users can simply keep conversations in appearance while multi-tasking.

Another very useful characteristic that Android 11 adds is the capability to insert pictures via copy/paste to notification inline responses. Users can draw images from Chrome and paste into their immediate responses beginning with the first Android 11 Developer Preview.

Speaking regarding privacy and security, Android 11 includes a new one-time verification characteristic that lets users confer temporary permissions to apps for accessing their location, mic, or camera. The new version of Google’s mobile OS also develops biometrics adaptability and adds platform support for securely collecting and recovering verifiable IDs like driving license and more such documents.

Another minor, but a convenient feature, introduced by Android 11 is that apps can now use new APIs to mute ringtones and vibrations for alarms or notifications while using the phone’s camera. Bokeh mode enhancements, a native image decoder, and the ability to decode and render image animations from HEIF files have also arrived. The latter is claimed to drastically reduce file size for image sequences.

On the connectivity front, Android 11 brings call screening improvements, Wi-Fi API enhancements, and more scope for 5G-related improvements. Google states it has combined a new API to let users monitor whether a connection is unmetered so that the variety of streaming content and resolution can be increased, although it will use more data. There is a tonne of developer-facing improvements that have been introduced with Android 11 too, and you can read them all on the official Android Developer Blog.
