Don’t be shocked. You read it right. But it is Arjun Tendulkar, son of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Arjun Tendulkar who is playing in the Global T20 league hosted by Sydney Cricket Ground exhibited all-around performance. The left arm quickie took 4 wickets in his 4 overs and went on to score a quick fired 48, from just 27 balls against Hong Kong Cricket Club.
Arjun was hailed for his all-around performance by the Australian media. He made his debut in Australia and represented Cricketer’s Club of India. Speaking to the media post the match, Arjun said, it is a privilege playing on the ground named after legendary cricketer Don Bradman.
While Sachin Tendulkar is a batsman, his son Arjun opted to be a pacer. ‘Right from my childhood, I had a passion for pace bowling. With time, I just got stronger (growing up), grew taller and I loved my bowling. There aren’t many fast bowlers in India. I thought I could be one’, said Arjun.
Sachin had a great impact on Arjun as a sportsman. Arjun said, ‘Play for yourself. Try to contribute as much as you can to your team, said Dad’.
