Avasarala Srinivas entered into Telugu Industry as a comedian. He ventured into direction with films like Oohalu Gusagusalade and Jyo Achutananda. Oohalu Gusagusalade became one of the biggest hits in the year 2014, while Jyo Achutananda fared decently at the box office. He has received critical acclaim both his directorial and script writing skills.

In an interview with a daily tabloid, Avasarala stated clearly that he is not keen to direct films with star heroes.

Usually, any director wants to make films with a star hero to gain immense popularity and craze. But Avasarala is far different. The actor-cum-director wants to make films with upcoming heroes and asmall cast to prove his mettle as a director. When asked about the reason for his different, Avasarala came up with a logical explanation.

‘If I rope in star hero, I might be forced to change my scripts. I need to take the stardom and a lot more into consideration. I might even end up changing the script, or the story losing its essence. I believe in my story and filmmaking. My film’s don’t run on the hero’s image’, said Avasarala. 

He is currently gearing up for his third directorial venture. The upcoming film would go onto sets from February 2018.

The greatest competitor to the yesteryear actress Mahanati Savithri is none other than Jamuna. She is born in Hampi and raised in Tenali and Duggirala and she has grown up into a beautiful girl who was advised by none other than Savithri to join the films.

In her recent interview on the TV, the 81-year-old Jamuna shared so many interesting things in her connection with the city Hyderabad. She started her career at the age of 16, to become a heroine through the movie “Puttillu” in the year 1952. She later acted in almost 200 films. Talking about Film Industry in Hyderabad, she stated that she is the first heroine of this city. We all wonder how, so let’s take a look at it.

There is also a famous belief that the Telugu Film Industry moved to Hyderabad big time after Akkineni established Annapurna Studios in the year 1975.But it first came through Sarathi Studios that was established here in 1959. Their first film to be shot here is “Ma Inti Mahalakshmi” and I’m the heroine in the movie, she says. Produced by Gangadhara Rao, she says she acted in another two films pellikani pillars and Jalsarayudu here. So in that way, I’m the first heroine to come to Hyderabad though it was jungle here back then, said Jamuna.

Forbes Magazine has released the list of highest-earning celebrities. The magazine is highly popular and garners a huge interest among the public. At one point in time, Forbes list used to mainly focus on Bollywood stars and Cricketers. But the times have changed now, with growing exposure Forbes now focuses on South directors and heroes as well and they are featuring on the list of Top Earners.

In the year 2017, Celebrity 100 list is out for all to view. It has Salman Khan holding the top position with earnings of Rs. 232.83 crores. He was followed by Bollywood King Khan, with Rs.170.50 crores. Whether Salman Khan is the best actor or not, his movies strive gold at the box office.

Natural Star Nani, has become a savior of his producer, Dil Raju, these days. Even at the time of the pre-release event of ‘MCA’, the producer slipped his tongue when the crowd was making loud noise disturbing him in his speech. That’s when Nani behaved sensibly and took the responsibility to control the damage done by Dil Raju and he indeed became successful in doing so.

Initial reports showed the movie ‘MCA’ opened to negative reviews and gave an impression that producer Dil Raju will not be able to fulfill his dream of achieving a double hat-trick in 2017.While Nani pulled off a miracle. It was beyond anyone’s expectations to see the revenues of Day 1 of their Movie ‘MCA’. A worldwide share of Rs.9.55 crores would have been near to impossible without Natural Star. Even the craze for the Fida fame Sai Pallavi contributed to the openings.

The opening day collections are the only ray of hope for Dil Raju to score a double hat-trick.If we take a look at the first-day collections/share of the movie ‘MCA’- Nizam gave Rs.3.09 crore, Ceded- Rs. 1.15 crore, Uttar Andhra- Rs.94 lakhs, Guntur- Rs.69 lakhs, Krishna: Rs 47 lakhs, East: Rs 57 lakhs, West: Rs 45 lakhs, Nellore: Rs 25 lakhs. Overall, MCA First Day AP & Nizam Collections: Rs 7.61 crore.

After Ram Gopal Varma, he is one of the gutsiest and bold directors to portray bold content on the screen. He is none other than Puri Jagannadh, who is also a student to RGV is without any doubt the most wanted guys in the film industry. It is the first time, we can see the director is coming up with a short film, which is titled as ‘HUG’.

The makers of the short film have released the first look of the poster. This is trending and going viral on social media. The poster shows a woman hugging a tree is completely nude from the backside. Looks like the short film revolves around environment and humans. The inside information is that the lead role is played by a Kathak dancer, who hails from Russia but living in Hyderabad. Her name is Katerina Krivenko and we can see she is doing a very important character in the short film.

The director shared the poster on the social media, as, “My first short film ‘HUG’ shall be released on 31st Dec 2017 at 10 am, get ready for this one.” Though Puri didn’t reveal much about the film, it is produced by Puri himself under Puri connects banner. The music for the short film is composed by Sandeep Chowta and the editing is done by Junaid Siddiqui, while Anil Paduri took the responsibilities of visual effects.

Okka Kshanam new trailer was released and it looked pretty promising. The teaser of the movie was out a couple of days ago and it impressed everyone a big time. The Tamil movie ‘Vikram Vedha’ shocked everyone in the film industry. The movie website IMDB – Internet Movie Database has released the list of Top 10 movies for the year 2017. The film starring R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi took the first place, while the magnum opus film Baahubali (The Conclusion) stood in the second place. The podium was shared by another Tollywood film that caused a sensation, Arjun Reddy.

In a recent interview, yesteryear Actress Jamuna revealed some interesting facts about the last stages of all-time great and legendary actress Savithri. In her own words:

‘I and Savithri are very close to each other. I used to call her Akka (elder sister). She got addicted to drinking towards the end of her life. I, Akkineni Nageshwar Rao, Nagi Reddy, Chakrapani have intervened in her marriage and advised her not to. But she still went ahead. Post that, she came to my son’s ‘Barasala’ function. She hugged me and cried that day. I consoled her and gave her moral support.

I told her, Akka you know what kind of a man he is [referring to her husband, Gemini Ganesan]. So don’t try to think about him anymore. Try to forget the past and move ahead. Your two kids are your life.By that time, itself, Savithri Akka has lost a lot of money due to thefts and robberies. Many people deceived her. I visited her while she was in Kodaikanal. I advised her, ‘Akka listen to me. Sell your house and take a fixed deposit of one crore. You will once again lead the high-life that you led in the past.’

Shortly after that, she went into a coma. Then Andhra Pradesh CM Anjaiah garu, even arranged medical assistance for Savithri garu in the US on my request. But the doctors said it was too late by then,’ said Jamuna.
