Pawan Kalyan fans who are still recovering-mode from the catastrophic result of ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ has something to cheer about. Their demi-god, Power Star Pawan Kalyan will be soon seen on the silver screen once again.

Many assumed that ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ would be the last film of Pawan Kalyan after the latter said, he is willing to devote himself to politics completely. The fans were dismayed and disrupted by that news.This is also one of the prime reason, why fans had sky-high expectations on Agnyaathavaasi.

The reported film is titled as ‘Charithra’ and is likely going to have a political backdrop. The film’s title is creating goosebumps among the fans, and Telugu audience. It is the same film that, Pawan Kalyan signed a film with producer and writer AM Ratnam a few months ago.

The Pooja ceremony was also completed. The film will be a remake of the Tamil film ‘Vedalam’ which had Ajith playing the lead role. Due to Agnyaathavaasi, the film has been stalled for some time. The movie’s regular shooting will be restarted from February 2nd week. The title ‘Charithra’ sports with a tagline ‘Silence is his weapon’. The film’s (fan-made) poster went viral and is creating a sensation in the social media.

Few film analysts termed this as a ‘gimmick’ to downplay the tragic end met by Agnyaathavaasi which released on January 10th, 2018.

‘Agnyaathavaasi’ movie released with the lone intention of giving Pawan Kalyan fans a memorable hit. As expected, Pawan Kalyan’s craze and fan following worked in generating record premier collections for the movie. The movie grossed a whopping $1.51M (premiers) at the US box office. The film’s theatrical rights fetched Rs. 95 crores in Telugu states alone, and Rs. 11 crores in Karnataka.

On release, the movie received mixed to poor reviews. Though Pawan’s acting was appreciated, critics took a different note when it came to the director. The distributors anticipated that Agnyaathavaasi will keep the cash registers ringing for over a week. But the movie turned out to be a disaster in terms of reviews.

Following this, many distributors are likely to face loss in crores. Realizing this, Power Star Pawan Kalyan has come forward to partially bear the losses by returning a major chunk of his revenue. If reports are to believed, Pawan Kalyan came forward to return Rs. 15 crores from his remuneration, taken for the film. Similarly, director Trivikram Srinivas will be returning Rs. 10 crores, and the producer Radha Krishna will be bearing up to Rs. 15 crores. In total, an amount of Rs. 45 crores will be channeled to distributors who are currently facing loses. Though this doesn’t cover the complete losses, it will at least keep them afloat.

Yet another film goes into Agnatham (exile).’

We Indians are highly superstitious and religious when it comes to the results of elections, exams, films, and literally everything. The same is being injected into the minds of the people, rather with a political motive. The underperformance of Pawan Kalyan – Trivikram movie, Agnyaathavaasi is being linked to TDP by a media house, that has its own press and electronic media.

YSRCP Chief YS Jagan’s media house, Saakshi has come up with this deplorable, wicket and irrational analysis for the failure of Agnyaathavaasi. Saakshi went up to the extent of picturizing TDP and Janasena as bad omens for Pawan Kalyan’s film career.

In its dreadful analysis, Saakshi pointed out that, after TDP came into governance, and Pawan Kalyan announced his party Janasena, his films have flopped at the box office. Surprisingly, films like Gopala Gopala, Sardar Gabbar Singh, Kaatamarayudu which were declared flop, released after Pawan announced his political entry. Though the facts are true, there mere coincidental and nothing more than that.

One can understand that Saakshi (and YS Jagan) is against TDP and Janasena, and rightly cited them as possible reasons or bad omens for the failure of Pawan Kalyan films. Possibly, no one in the world, except Saakshi and YS Jagan will ever have this kind of view. After all, it is media house made by the one, who is often touted as the most corrupted politician in the last decade.

How often do you see a Telugu film topping the US box-office collections? But Agnyaathavaasi did it. Such is the phenomenal craze, fan following and stardom of Power Star Pawan Kalyan. The movie grossed over $1.5M in the US, even before its first screening. On release, the film fell flat and received mixed to poor reviews. The film was criticized for its script, narration and lame comedy.

On a whole, what seemed to be a movie of the decade (apart from Baahubali), turned out to be the biggest disaster in Pawan Kalyan’s and Trivikram’s career. More shockingly, the film collected over Rs. 60 crores worldwide on its first day.

Critics compared Trivikram’s script to that of a spineless human. Even his trademark dialogues were missing. All that was pitched, is a repetitive piece of shit and lame gay-style of comedy.

The film has been an eye opener, not only to ardent followers of Trivikram but also to Jr. NTR. The Nandamuri hero’s next film will be in the direction of Trivikram. Jr. NTR hero has reportedly asked his in-house writers and a director to verify the script, and check for comedy episodes and action sequences.

After the episode between director Vivek and Katthi Mahesh viral, RGV tweeted that, he wants to work as an assistant to Vivek (who previously worked under RGV).

Indirectly, RGV’s supported Katthi Mahesh’s review of the film. In the review, Katthi Mahesh claimed, the film has failed on all fronts, both as a wholesome entertainer or something that can be appealing to the fans alone.

Katthi Mahesh was on cloud nine after Varma’s tweet. He replied, ‘Thank you sir’, and retweeted RGV’s tweet. RGV and Katthi Mahesh duo faced a severe backlash from Pawan Kalyan fans. Few went to the extent of questioning the credibility of the duo, to comment on a Pawan Kalyan film. But joining this league, is Jabardasth fame, comedian Hyper Adi. He criticized the duo by comparing them to white crow.With Agnyaathavaasi disappointing outing at the box office, trade experts believe that Katthi Mahesh has an added advantage in his row with Pawan Kalyan fans.

Thanks to Rajinikanth, the DMK party has started its attack against the Kali-Yuga Daivam Lord Venkateswara (or Yedukondalavadu). After he announced his political entry on December 31st, 2017, Rajinikanth sent shockwaves across the political sphere in Tamil Nadu.

DMK feels that Rajinikanth’s notion of ‘Spiritual’ politics could have an impact (religious) on the voters. To counterattack this, the DMK has already come up with a unique plan. MK Stalin has reportedly asked his party members and followers to carry out ‘Atheist Meetups’ across Tamil Nadu.

As a part of their strategy, former TN CM Karunanidhi’s daughter, DMK MP, Kanimoli targeted Lord Venkateswara itself. Speaking at a public gathering, Kanimoli said, Lord Venkateswara is only for the rich and not for the common man. ‘A common man has to wait for long hours to have his Darshan. If he is really a god, why does his temple need security? He cannot even protect his own hundi, leave about people.

Religion has brought more bloodshed than the wars in the history of mankind. Only Atheism has the power to unite everyone on this planet. Religion is solely responsible for communal violence,’ said Kanimoli. The MP’s latest comments not only shook Tamil Nadu but also the whole nation.

DMK, which is born out of the Dravidian Movement, took taken a similar stance in the past. With time, the party has toned down the concept ‘atheism’. With Rajinikanth’s ‘Spiritual’ politics on the cards, DMK is once again evoking the spirit of Dravidian movement in the Tamil people.

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 102nd film, ‘Jai Simha’ is slated to hit the theatres on 12th January. The film is directed by KS Ravikumar, who directed Rajinikanth in Linga, Narasimha and other movies in the past. Film’s producer C Kalyan expressed, the film’s budget has gone overboard, once the movie went onto the sets. The film’s budget is estimated to be around Rs.26 crores. The whole of tinsel town gossiped that the buyers are backing off from buying the movie rights after Balakrishna’s Paisa Vasool bombed at the box office.

After the film’s trailer was released, it not only impressed Balakrishna fans but also brought the buyers on to the screen. The film’s theatrical rights were reportedly sold for Rs. 23 crores, satellite rights for Rs. 3.5 crores and overseas rights for Rs. 1 crore. Overall, Jai Simha pre-release business has crossed Rs. 27.5 crores.

Balakrishna’s previous film, Paisa Vasool managed to collect Rs. 19 crores against Rs. 32 crores as theatrical rights. Gautamiputra Satakarni collected Rs. 53+ crores against Rs. 46 crores.

With Agnyaathavaasi taking a back seat in the Telugu states, Balakrishna starrer can have good to excellent openings. Balayya’s fan base, high octane action episodes and typical Balakrishna style dialogues should be enough to get back the ROI – Return on Investment for the film, promising that the director KS Ravikumar did not mess up with the story. The film’s target is the regular family audience, and the upcoming festive season is a bliss for the makers.

‘Agnyaathavaasi’ had a stupendous outing on its first day in the US. The huge hype and craze over the film meant, the film has taken box-office collections by storm. Despite the mixed talk, the film managed to rake over $1,513,540 (Rs. 9.65 Cr) for Tuesday, a working day, previews. The film has shattered all the Telugu box-office records (except Baahubali – The Conclusion) in the US. Agnyaathavaasi released in a whopping 576+ locations, the highest for any film, in the US. Previously, Baahubali – The Beginning, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No.150, and Baahubali – The Conclusion grossed $1.36M, $1.29M and $2.45M at the US premieres respectively.

Trade analyst, Taran Adarsh posted the same on his official twitter. Undeniably the film took the US box-office by storm, tsunami or hurricane. The Pawan Kalyan starrer surpassed Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson ticket bookings the day before premiers. The film needs to gross $4M to achieve break-even in the US.

Meanwhile, the film performance was overwhelming in the Telugu states. The official figures are yet to be out. Going by the opening day trends, the film is likely to cross Rs. 50+ Crore mark with collections from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka on its opening day.

Agnyaathavaasi needs to have a steady run for the next one week, for the distributors to reach the shore. The upcoming festive week is likely to draw a family audience to the theatres. If the Balakrishna starrer, ‘Jayasimha’ opens to good talk, ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ collections will be greatly impacted.
