Writer cum Director, BVS Ravi who recently directed ‘Jawaan’ starring Sai Dharam Tej and Mehreen Pirzada in the lead roles lashed at people who are pirating the content.
‘It took 2 years to develop the story. I traveled with the hero 24 hours a day and convinced him to act in the film. With this support and crores money from the producers’ pockets, we were able to complete the film. On the same day of the release, the pirated movie CD’s are being played in buses and are available online. Why don’t you value our hard work and respect our films?
I am scared on every Friday morning. I am scared about which producer would become the victim of piracy. Out of 100 films that release in a calendar year, hardly 20 of them have a successful run. In those 20 films, only 10 films manage to generate profits. The distributors sell their properties and display the films in the theatres. Everyone from the light boy to the person working at a theatre cycle-stand, work hard to bring the film from ‘Idea’ to the ‘Screen’.
As far as I am concerned, piracy to the film industry is more dangerous than AIDS itself,’ said BVS Ravi during a special press meet. His recent directorial venture, ‘Jawaan’ is having a good run at the box office.

There has been a lot of buzz about the upcoming film in the combination of Jr. NTR and director Trivikram Srinivas. The social media and film circles titled the Pawan Kalyan starrer ‘Agnathavasi’ before any official comment. Finally, the film was officially titled ‘Agnathavasi’ by the director at the end.
The director is also scouting for a powerful title for Jr. NTR’s film. It was rumoured that Trivikram is looking at the title ‘Soldier’ for the film. But sources close to Trivikram stated that the director is having the more powerful title in his mind. According to them, there are high chances in finalizing the title of the film as ‘Athade Oka Sainyam’.
It is understood that the title exactly goes in sync with the story of the film and also serves as a powerful title to the delight of Nandamuri fans. After leaving the responsibility of finalizing the title to the director Trivikram, Jr. NTR is waiting eagerly for the title of the film just like any other moviegoer.

From selecting technicians to the selection of lead pair in a film, Dil Raju has been highly successful. The producer has the ability to analyze what kind of story suits a particular hero, and which director can aptly elevate that hero.
According to the latest reports, it is learnt that Dil Raju has given another opportunity for ‘Mahanubhavudu’ director Satish Vigesan. The director has come up with a story recently to the producer. Both have agreed upon the lead cast in the film.
The film is titled as ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’. Nithin would be playing the male lead in the film. Dil Raju feels that Pooja Hegde, who rose to fame with DJ (Duvvada Jagannadham) will be best suited for the heroine role in the film. After the production team approached Pooja Hegde, the heroine reportedly demanded 1 crore as remuneration to act in the film.
Producer Dil Raju agreed to the remuneration quoted by Pooja Hegde going by his gut feeling that she would be an asset to the film. ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’ is slated to release in the last quarter of the next year.

No one can forget the name ‘Mehar Ramesh’ in Tollywood film industry. It was rumoured that the script for Mahesh Babu’s film ‘Pokiri’ belonged to Mehar Ramesh, an assistant director to Puri Jagannath at that time. After coming out of Puri’s camp, Mehar Ramesh did see a decent success with films like Jr. NTR’s ‘Kantri’ and Prabhas’ ‘Billa’.
Overconfident about his average flicks, Mehar Ramesh singed Jr. NTR once again for the high budget socio-fantasy film ‘Shakti’. It was reported that the film was made on a staggering budget of 55 Crores – 65 Crores. The film was a disaster at the box office, and it almost took star-producer Ashwini Dutt 5 years to recover.
Similarly, his next venture, ‘Shadow’ with Venkatesh resulted in another disaster. There is no shadow of the producer of ‘Shadow’ film.
No producer or hero dared to work with Mehar Ramesh after the disasters like Shakti and Shadow. The writer-turned-director worked in the script department for many films later.
It is learnt that Mehar Ramesh has recently approached hero Sai Dharam Tej, and the hero has reportedly agreed to do the film. If this happens to be true, then surely the mega hero is planning for a ‘suicide to his film career’. The hero is on a spree of making films irrespective of hits and flops finally made this decision. He recently tasted success with ‘Jawaan’.

The film ‘Jawaan’ starring Sai Dharam Tej and directed by BVS Ravi recently released in theatres. There were no expectations on the film largely because of the director and hero Sai Dharam Tej, who had 3 flops in a row. The film managed to create hype after it was learnt that Dil Raju and Koratala Siva are involved in the film. People expected that it would be a decent film.
Dil Raju involved himself in the shooting and also advised the director to re-shoot few important scenes. Meanwhile, it was learnt that Koratala Siva gave some valuable suggestions in key scenes of the film. The film received mixed reviews on release.
Many felt that even though the story was good, the director failed to narrate it efficiently. Interestingly, Mehreen Pirzada who is currently the ‘Lucky charm and golden leg’ in Tollywood was only limited to songs and the romantic scenes stole the show. The romantic track between Mehreen and Sai Dharam became crowd pullers, especially in the B and C centers.

Directors and actors in the Telugu film industry are trying with various techniques to promote their film. Sai Dharam Tej starrer ‘Jawaan’ movie also came up with a unique way to promote the film. recently, Sai Dharam Tej visited Facebook Workplace and participate in a live chat with his fans on Facebook. The chat received a very good response from Facebook users.
The hero was also available for a WhatsApp chat to his fans. Once again the ‘Jawaan’ team came up with another unique idea. Sai Dharam Tej and the film’s director BVS Ravi have been interview by director Harish Shankar. The interview took place the Beenz Café, located in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. The film’s heroine, Mehreen Pirzada was also seen in the interview.
Harish Shankar: Did you listen to the story after deciding to work with Ravi? Or you wanted to work after listening to the story?
Dharam Tej: Frankly, Ravi shared the story with me while I was shooting for ‘Supreme’ film in this very coffee shop. After listening to the script, I felt ‘God! Did he really write the film by himself? Or he copied it from somewhere? I told him, I would make the film. But I was busy shooting for other films at that time. So, we completed the film after a year and a half!
Ravi: I shared the story with Ravi Teja First!
‘I initially approached Ravi Teja with the script. After listening to the story, he suggested me that Sai Dharam Tej would be the apt one for this script. Ravi Anna stated that he likes Sai Dharam Tej and Nani in this generation of heroes,’ said BVS Ravi.
Harish: As a director, what would you like to tell Mega fans?
Ravi: Mega heroes venturing into the films do remake the songs of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. I wanted ‘songs’ to be a plus point in ‘Jawaan’. And moreover, after ‘Supreme’ Sai Dharam Tej wasn’t seen in any dance numbers. I ensured that Sai Dharam Tej displays his dance moves in every song in this film.
Harish: What is your favourite song in the film?
Ravi: Avunana… Kaadhanaa
Dharam Tej: I really liked ‘Jawaan’ theme song.
Harish: What is your take on the Villain role played by Prasanna?
Dharam Tej: The villain role played by Prasanna was really impressive. He is a very good person. He is a senior too. I was confused while shooting for few scenes. At that time Prasanna gave me few pieces of advice which helped me a lot. To be very frank, I improved my acting ability after following his advice.
Harish: Did you rope in Mehreen because of her recent films have been consecutive hits?
Ravi: I really liked Mehreen. She is very friendly. She is the golden girl of Tollywood. That’s the reason I had cast her in the film.
Harish: What made you sign on this film?
Mehreen: Director narrated the story trusting me. I agreed immediately. I don’t even know what the film is about (laughs).
Harish: How did you feel working with Sai Dharam Tej?
Mehreen: I really have no clue about dancing. Just by watching Dharam Tej, I picked up a couple of movements. I really have a tough time for the dance master during the songs.
‘Jawaan’ released today, i.e., 1st December 2017. The film received good to mixed reviews. While the acting of Sai Dharam Tej was applauded, the director was appreciated for few scenes in the film. The film stars Sai Dharam Tej as hero ‘Jai’ and Prasanna as villain ‘Keshav’. Both of them are brothers in the film. Mehreen Pirzada impressed the audience with her glamour, especially in the songs. The film features action and family drama.

Nandamuri Balakrishna last film ‘Paisavasool’ has disappointed his fans greatly. The film turned out to be a disaster and was voted as one of the worst films in Balakrishna’s film career. Without letting the failure of ‘Paisavasool’ to come in his way, the Nandamuri hero started shooting his latest film ‘Jayasimha’. The film is being directed by Tamil Director KS Ravi Kumar who is well known for his films Arunachalam, Sneham Kosam, and Linga.
It is reported that the Nandamuri fans and trade analysts have no ‘hopes or expectations’ on this film. ‘The director has a bad track record recently. Even Balakrishna faced a disaster in the form of Paisavasool. Don’t know why Balakrishna agreed for the movie,’ said a trade analyst recently.
But the film’s unit is trying desperately to raise the expectations and hype of the film. The first look that was launched couple days ago seemed ‘OK’.
But the Title poster released recently is creating hype around the film. Many Nandamuri fans opinionated that Balakrishna is looking 10 years younger in the title poster, and the film would stand out as a sure-shot hit. Nayantara is acting opposite Balakrishna as the heroine.
