Padmavathi banned in Gujarat and UP

Not only Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but producers and directors of 22 films in the past also faced the same fate like Padmavathi. It is confirmed that Padmavathi wouldn’t be releasing in the states of Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Many films of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, Sanjeev Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, and others have also been banned. Let us take a quick look at few films that have been banned in few regions.

Vishwaroopam (2013)

Cast: Kamal Hassan, Rahul Bose, Pooja, Andrea

Banned in: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh

Final Result: The film released late in the banned states

Aarakshan (2011)

Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone

Banned in: Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab

Final Result: Released after few scenes were cut

Jodha Akbar (2008)

Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Sonu Sood

Banned in: Unofficial ban in Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh

Final Result: Ban continued

Aja Nachle (2007)

Cast: Madhuri Dixit, Akshaye Khanna, Konkona Sen Sharma

Banned in: Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh

Final Result: Film released after few lyrics were deleted

Aandhi (1975)

Cast: Sanjeev Kumar, Suchitra Sen

Banned in: Throughout India by Central Government

Final Result: Released after Janata Dal came to power in 1977

Black Friday (2004)

Cast: Kay Kay Menon, Pavan Malhotra

Banned in: Throughout India

Final Result: Released after two-year-long ban

Laxmi Rai created a sensation with the trailer of her Bollywood debut movie Julie 2.

According to the Nihalani, one of the producers, the story of the protagonist is based on a well-known actress of 1990’s and 2000’s. The makers also stated that she is a ‘well-known’ glamorous actress known for her erotic and sensual scenes on the celluloid.

Even Laxmi Rai who is playing the protagonist in the film said, ‘yes there are some similarities between my character and that actress. I am not denying them. But I do not know whether they were deliberate or coincidence’. The ‘Julie 2’ film is being considered as an unofficial biopic of former star-heroine Nagma, who was very popular in the South Indian Film Industry as well as in Bollywood during 1990’s and early 2000’s

Nihalani also stated that ‘once the film releases on Friday, it is obvious for everyone to decide on which actress the film is based upon’.

Reacting to the controversy, Nagma recently stated that, ‘It is really pathetic on behalf of the movie crew to drag my name for publicity. I cannot make any comment without watching the movie. Let the movie release first, and then I can look forward to take further action’.

It is very rare to find heroines coming from established families in the film industry. While heroes are a common sight. In Bollywood, both heroes and heroines come alike from the film families. Very few people know that a heroine has come from Akkineni family in the past.

She is none other than Supriya who acted with Mega-Brother Power Star Pawan Kalyan in the past. Supriya and Pawan Kalyan acted together in ‘Akkada Ammai – Ikkada Abbai’ in 1996. She is the grand-daughter of Akkineni Nageswara Rao and sister of hero Sumanth. Post that film, Supriya has left the film industry and confined herself to look after Annapoora Studios.

It is heard that Supriya will be seen on the silver screen after 21 long years. She will be seen in the film ‘Gudachaari’ which is being directed by hero Adivi Sesh. He is known for his critically acclaimed movie ‘Kshanam’ that released in 2016.

‘Supriya initially rejected the offer. But Adivi Sesh constantly persuaded her to play the role. She would be playing a vital role in the film’, said a close source to Adivi Sesh.

One has to wait and watch what impact Supriya’s presence will have on the film.

The Nandi Awards became a state-wide hot topic after producers and directors condemned the state government and the Jury. But the whole incident grabbed everyone’s attention after Posani Krishna Murali lashed out at Nara Lokesh.

In a recent interview, Posani lashed out at CM’s son, and minister Nara Lokesh, calling him a drunkard. With his fierce interview, it looked as if Posani has raised curtains to a larger controversy.

But interestingly, YSRCP leader, brother of Superstar Krishna, Ghattamaneni Adiseshagiri Rao simply rubbished Posani’s comments stating that ‘Posani’s arguments are senseless. What was his intention to bring caste into the awards row? See, people who did not get the awards usually react. This is a very common thing’.

Everyone expected that there would an interview from Posani criticizing the YSRCP leader. but shockingly, Posani did not even comment anything. Posani’s behavior certainly raised some eyebrows. Posani, who lashed out at CM Son out rightly has enough wits to lash out at Ghattamaneni also. But he did not.

Few close sources to the politics and film circles are claiming that someone is controlling every action of Posani. Only time should reveal the truth behind his ‘shocking’ behavior.

Raghavendra Rao who is popularly known as ‘Darsakendra’ is one of the top directors in Telugu Film history. He always holds high honor and regards for his contribution to Telugu Cinema. He has directed blockbuster films like Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari starring Megastar Chiranjeevi and Indian Cinema Queen Sridevi, Adavi Ramudu starring NTR, Annamayya, Allari Priyudu, Gharana Mogudu and many more. The star-director has directed over 100 films, which itself is a record and has won 7 Nandi Awards, the SIIMA Award, 5 Filmfare Awards, and many other awards.

The director has failed to see any commercial success in the recent times. His last film, ‘Om Namo Venkatesaya’ starring Nagarjuna managed to fare decently at the box office. But the director is all set to hold the gramophone once again.

With an aim to achieve a commercial success, the director is busy in the script work of his upcoming film. It is confirmed that his next directorial venture would be with a new cast. A love story connecting the current generation and the previous generations is being worked out. The film will roll onto the sets in early 2018.

The small-budget film ‘Pelli Choopulu’ has created history in Telugu Film history. Produced on a modest budget of Rs. 2 crores, ‘Pelli Choopulu’ went on to become one of the biggest hits of that year. The film collected nearly 25 Crores at the box office. The film proved its mettle in Overseas and Bollywood too. The satellite rights, online rights, and other sources fetched the movie handsome money.’

‘Mental Madhilo’ which is slated for release tomorrow, is creating a buzz in the industry. The film comes as the second production from the makers of Pelli Choopulu. It is known that star-producer D. Suresh Babu is presenting this film too. He also presented Pelli Choopulu in the past. The production unit is hoping that Mental Madhilo will continue its sentiment and will come out as a winner.

It looks Kangana Ranaut is having a rough time on the sets of the film‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’. Krish is directing the film. With the film’s shooting nearing completion, the actress again got injured once again. She already got injured twice during the shoot. ‘The first time injury was a minor one. But the second injury meant she had to take rest for 3 weeks. Now the third injury is more serious’, said the production unit.

It is reported that she has been injured while getting on a horse. ‘She lost her balance while getting on the horse. She suffered a fracture near the knee fold of her right leg. She needs to be rested for 4 weeks’, said a doctor who treated her. Near and dear of Kangana has advised her to be off from the stunts for the time being.

Krish who is directing the film has won National Award, Nandi Award, and Filmfare award too. He is best known for his films Gamyam, Kanche, Vedam and Gautami Putra Satakarni.Director Krish is undoubtedly one of the best directors in Telugu Film Industry. The biographical based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. Kangana Ranaut is reprising the role of Rani Laxmibai. The film is releasing in Hindi.

‘Natural Star’ Nani is on a high with back-to-back hits. The star hero had 7 straight hits. He is currently shooting for the film ‘MCA – Middle Class Abbayi’. The film is being directed by Venu Sree Ram, who made his debut with ‘Oh My Friend’. Dil Raju is producing this film.

Akkineni Nagarjuna’s son, Akhil is coming with his 2^nd film ‘24’. The film’s production team has already announced that the film is slated for release on 23^rd of December 2017 for the Christmas. Similarly, Allu Sirish, brother of Allu Arjun is coming with his new film ‘Okka Kshanam’. This film is slated to release on 24^th of December 2017.

With these two films proving to be critical for both the heroes, Nagarjuna and Allu Aravind have requested MCA’s producer, Dil Raju to prepone his film. It is understood that both of them have managed to convince Dil Raju, and as a result, MCA is slated to release on 15^th of December. Hero Nani’s fans are quite upset with this move. Nani Fans stated that ‘releasing MCA ahead of the holiday season in December will severely impact the film’s collections. This is ridiculous on behalf of Nagarjuna and Aravind’.

Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music for the film, while Sameer Reddy is handling the cinematography.

11 Telugu Movies to release in one day!

As many as 8 Telugu films have been released in the last week. Except for a couple of films, almost all the films have failed at the box office. The release of star-films in January leaves no space for low-budget movies to release. And post-January, there would be no films releasing in February and March owing to the exam season. As a result, the producers of low-budget films are rushing to release their films in December itself.

11 Telugu Films would be releasing on 24^th of November 2017. Apart from one film, rest all films are alien films to the Telugu audience. The list of the films are as follows:

Nara Rohit and Regina Cassandra are starring in Balakrishnudu, Sree Vishnu and Nivetha Pethuraj are starring in Mental Madhilo, and Sai Pallavi and Dulquer Salmaan are starring in Hey Pillagada.
