‘Angry Youngman’ hero Rajasekhar minted gold at the box office with his recent film ‘Garuda Vega’. The film stood out as the biggest hit Rajasekhar’s Tollywood film career. It truly marked come-back of Rajasekhar, who was once very popular with films like Ankusam, Magaadu and Allari Priyudu. After it was revealed that the film was produced on a whopping budget of Rs. 25 Crores, many trade analysts predicted that it would be ‘Doomsday’ for Rajasekhar and Jeevitha. The film shocked all the trade analysts by minting gold at the box office.

It is learned that Rajasekhar’s next film wouldn’t be from his home production. A producer has come forth to make a film with the hero. The producer was put to shock after Rajasekhar stated that he would only act if the film is produced on a budget of minimum 20 crores. A young director already received green signal for his script. The producer is currently unable to decide whether it is worth putting in such a huge budget for Rajasekhar.

Film critics have stated that it would be better if Rajasekhar limits himself to 10-crore budget film if he wishes to last for a little while in Telugu Film Industry. They further said, ‘It is foolish of Rajasekhar to assume that every film will be a hit like Garuda Vega’.

Khakee Movie Review by Telugu Bullet

Khakee Telugu Movie Review and Rating

Though being a Tamil hero, Karthi has been quite popular in Telugu films too. He is so popular that, almost every film of his is being dubbed into Telugu. Karthi is seen thoroughly working on his film to improve his Telugu market after doing a film like Oopiri. His last film Cheliya was a disaster at the Telugu box office, while his previous film Kashmora remained as a decent grosser. Recently, the Tamil hero has come with one more film ‘Khakee’, dubbed version of Tamil film Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru.

Story:

Dheeraj Hari Prasad (Karthi) falls in love with the girl-next-door Priya (Rakul Preeth Singh) during his training period as an IPS officer. The couple’s relationship blossoms and heads towards a marriage. But, being a new officer, Dheeraj is repeatedly transferred from one place to another. During this time, Dheeraj’s starts to focus on a case relating to murdering of a family leaving along the Chennai Highway.

As he investigates further into the case, Dheeraj finds out that a Rajasthan gang that is responsible for this horrific murder and many more murders that have taken place around the nation. In his quest to see the end of the Rajasthan Gang, 1 ½ years pass by. The rest of the story deals with the vengeance he had to face from the Rajasthan Gang, and how he managed to deal with it.

Analysis:

The director has surely come out with a good crime-thriller story for the film. Though many films in the past have been on the same lines, watching Khakee gives us a fresh feeling. The audience might recollect a hint of Dandupalyam and Gharshana movies for a brief moment during few investigative scenes. The romantic scenes in the film appear to be distracting and unsettling from the outset. But the director gives a proper backdrop for the romantic track between the lead actors. The film is a good watch for crime-thriller genre audience.

The narration of the story from the perspective of a ‘Police Mind’, along with the perspective of the hero and the villain makes it more interesting and gripping. The director managed to clearly illustrate the difficulties an honest police officer come across while investigating a case, and also exemplified the cruel mind of a criminal.

The director’s success lied in his ability to show Karthi as an ‘Angry Young Man’. This film will be refreshing to the audience who have seen Karthi as a lover boy so far. Both Rakul Preeth Singh and Abhimanyu Singh breath life in their characters on screen.

Positive Points:

  • Narration and Direction
  • Hero
  • Villain

Drawbacks:

  • Slight drag
  • Extreme Reality in few scenes

The controversy over Nandi Awards gained momentum after various sections of the Telugu Film Industry condemned the Nandi Awards Committee. Various producers and directors are expressing their displeasure on the committee on all social media platforms and electronic media.

On the comment, ‘the Nandi Awards Committee surely deserve an Oscar for their non-prejudice judgment. I want to touch their feet’ made my Ram Gopal Varma, Maddineni Ramesh Babu, member of the Nandi Awards Committee abused director Ram Gopal Varma using vulgar, foul and impolite language.

RGV responded to Maddineni Ramesh Babu’s statement through a Facebook post. In the post, he stated, ‘Everyone has a right to respond to something that is going on in a democratic country. I responded to the Nandi Awards as it is my right to respond. Mr. Maddineni Ramesh Babu reacted to my comments rather in a harsher way,’ and he posted the abusive language used by the Ramesh Babu.

Varma further reacted stating that, ‘I don’t mind because someone abused me. But what pains me a lot is, how are these kind of people a part of a prestigious committee? I don’t know whether to be shocked or to feel sad on the Government that has selected this kind of members for the Jury. It is said that one grain is enough to tell how the rice would taste. If Maddineni Ramesh Babu is that one grain, then what about the state of the whole committee? It is the Government that has to answer now’.

The whole film industry, except Nandamuri Family, have been pretty vocal about the ‘prejudice’ show in the Nandi Awards. And interestingly, RGV did not react immediately. The director is known for his hard-hitting and sarcastic comments on any trending issue. His fans were greatly disappointed, not because he did not get a Nandi Award, but because he did react in his usual way on this controversy.

We guess RGV heard the prayer of his fans, and he did react today in his typical and sarcastic way. This is what his Facebook post read (after translation):

RGV: ‘Titanic director will touch Boyapati Seenu feet if he watches Legend’Wah! Wah! Wah! I just checked out the Nandi Awards winners list. It’sabsolutelymind-blowing! Extraordinary! Super Duper selection! As far as I’m concerned, I honestly believe that not even 1% of prejudice (partiality) is shown while selecting the awardees for the Nandi Awards. I think this is the only committee on this planet that has not shown even a hint of prejudice. Wow, Nandi Awards Committee! I want to touch your feet.’

His second post became more controversial. In his second posted he stated, ‘I don’t understand what is the fuss in giving Legend movie Nandi Awards in various categories. If Titanic director James Cameroon watched Legend, he would definitely submit all the 11 Oscar awards that Titanic won at the footstep of Legend movie director, Boyapati Srinu and will ask for his blessing’.

Bandla Ganesh has produced back-to-back movies with the Mega Family. Within a short time, Bandla Ganesh turned out to be a star producer. Though many people did not know his name prior to production of films, he was a common junior artist in many Telugu film. He also acted in few Telugu and Tamil B-grade (or soft porn) films in the past. Bandla Ganesh has always been associated with controversies either by creating them or being a part of them.

Recently, after the Nandi Awards were announced by the AP State government, the producer made some highly controversial statement. He said, ‘Are these Nandi Awards or Cycle Awards’, referring to TDP’s Party symbol ‘Cycle’.

Reacting to the comments made by Bandla Ganesh, few TDP followers have expressed their anger towards the producer. They said, ‘He might have become a producer now. But everyone knows his past. It is really pathetic to see someone who earned money by doing business with women, commenting on Nandi Awards.’

Bandla Ganesh in a recent web-interview reacted harshly to that comment. Ganesh said, ‘I never involved myself in any unethical business related to women. And moreover, I don’t have any need to even react to such statements’. He claimed that it is his hard work and the network he has in the industry that made him successful.

Will NTR films ever release?

Controversial director Ram Gopal Varma came up with ‘Lakshmi’s NTR,’ while Kethireddy came up with ‘Lakshmi’s Veeragrandham’. It is also heard that production details of the fourth NTR biopic will be announced soon.

Going by facts, it would be a Hercules task to release these films two films (excluding Teja-Balakrishna’s NTR). Reason? It not because of the controversies that are surrounding them, but because of legalities that are likely to arise with their release. As per the law, the producers of these films have to obtain necessary permissions from the Nandamuri family. If they fail to do so, they can be prosecuted as per the law. This would not only result in stopping the film’s release, but also will result in severe ‘penalties’.senior ntr

And even if they are ready to pay the penalties, without the formal acceptance of Nandamuri Family the producers can never release the film. It is heard that the same has been shared by Teja in a different context.

Even Lakshmi Parvathi is also looking at this legal option. Though she doesn’t have the guts to file a case against Balakrishna’s NTR, one has to wait and see how things would unfold in the coming times.

Gruham Telugu Movie Review and Rating

Gruham Movie Review and Rating

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

Siddharth, who is well known for his chocolate boy and boy-next-door roles came up with altogether a different film. The hero has been away from Telugu movies in the past two years after a series of flops. In the past few years, Siddharth limited himself to few number of the film in Tamil by acting in unique films. He did see a couple of hits in Kollywood. His recent horror-flick ‘Aval’ has become a super hit in Kollywood and released as ‘Gruham’ in Telugu today.

Story:

Krish (Siddharth) and Lakshmi (Andrea) are a happy couple who got recently married. They both are excited about their new life and spend together as much as they can. When everything seems to be perfectly fine, a new family moves into their neighborhood. A girl (called Anisha) from the newly-moved in the family starts liking Krish from the very moment she sees him. Anisha is also aware the Krish is the married guy. From that point, things take a different turn with evil premonitions being a common sight in Krish’s and Anisha’s house.

An unknown evil spirit starts frightening them resulting in horrifying events that start taking place. During this time, the girl who liked Krish commits a suicide attempt to end her life. And it is during this period, Lakshmi becomes a pregnant. With the uncommon sights taking place, Krish takes the help of an exorcist. Unfortunately, Krish will be possessed by a soul. All of a sudden, two souls of Chinese women (Mother and daughter) who previously lived in the house start attacking the possessed Krish.

Who possessed Krish? What happens to the lives of Krish and Lakshmi? And what is the fate of the girl who liked Krish? One has to see the film on celluloid to find out the answers to these questions.

Analysis:

The film is based on a long-debated concept of, Science vs Faith. The film is inspired by the Hollywood horror flick ‘The House next door’. Science possibly tries to explain the reason behind every event that takes place. But while finding a solution, it’s the faith that matters a lot. The director of the film managed to convey that, ‘If Science and Faith come together, one can solve a problem’, with ease. The film moves away from a contemporary horror film in India and rather depicts horror in a more realistic manner than the jump scares and shouts.

One can expect to see Siddharth in his new avatar as Krish. Veteran actor Suresh has given one his best performances in this film. He plays the role of a Psychiatrist. Athul Kulkarni’s character also leaves a deep impact on our minds. The film is the result of sheer dedication and concept the director has believed in. Don’t be surprised if the characters of Krish, Lakshmi and Anisha haunt you on your way back to your home. The success of the film depends on the fact that, whether the audience will be able to understand the complex concept of ‘Science and Faith working in rapport or not.

Positive Points:

  • Visuals and Acting
  • Script, Narration and Background Music

Drawbacks:

  • Complex Concept.

London Babulu Telugu Bullet Review

London Babulu Movie Review and Rating

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

Looking at the recent trend of Telugu films, it is clear that the Telugu Film Industry will have a good future. Moving away from the typical stereotype movies, the new generation is coming up with new concepts and ideas. ‘London Babulu’ film is surely going to steal the hearts of the Telugu audience. The film is an official remake of Tamil movie ‘Aandavan Kattalai’.

Story:

Gandhi (Rakshith) is one among a gang of youngsters who dream to settle in life by working in abroad. Gandhi’s dream of going to London comes to a standstill after his visa gets rejected. He understands that the visa officer rejected his visa because he is a bachelor, assuming that it is common for a bachelor to settle permanently in the visiting country.

It is during this time Gandhi comes in touch with a girl called Suryakantham (Swathi). After Gandhi and Suryakantham meet, the story takes completely a different turn. The rest of the story is all about how the couple’s life goes ahead and will Gandhi accomplish his London dream or not.

Analysis:

The film’s director, Chinni Krishna’s films have been utter flops in the past. The film has been produced by Maruthi, who relies a lot on his ‘brand image’ for the success while producing small budget movies. The first 15 minutes of the film leaves many people confused. But with the introduction of Ali character, one can understand it is a deliberate move of the director. The first half is filled with laughs and giggles, while the second half unveils the sentiment and emotional quotient of the film. It is surprising the way Chinni Krishna has handled the script and narration all through the film. It is hard to believe that he directed few flop movies in the past. The best part of the whole film is, every character has a key role to play in the film. It feels as if the film would lose its essence, even one character in the film is ignored.

The screenplay and dialogues of the film are written by Chinni Krishna himself. Few dialogues are bound to invoke the emotions and sentiments of anyone watching the film.

The cast in the film should be praised for their acting abilities. Apart from a couple of scenes, nowhere in the film, we feel that Rakshith is a new actor. Swathi, who is known for her bubbliness excelled splendidly as Suryakantham. Ali is undoubtedly among the highlights of the film. Mentioning the names of Murali Sharma, Satya, Jeeva, Ajay Ghosh, Dhanraj, Priyadarsi, Venu, Raja Ravindra, Satya Krishnan might seem quite obvious. But they truly deserve the mention. Shyam K Naidu’s photography is another highlight in the film.

Plus Points:

  • Story, Screenplay, and Narration
  • Actors
  • Direction and Dialogues

Drawbacks:

Demands absolute concentration of the viewer to understand the film.
