The Health Minister, Veena George, who has been in Kozhikode since Tuesday morning to oversee the situation, assured the public that the situation is under control and being managed in accordance with established protocols.

On Tuesday morning, a person who died in Kozhikode due to fever and breathing difficulties on Monday had their sample test positive for the Nipah virus. In response to this development, a central team of officials from Delhi has been dispatched to Kozhikode.

Furthermore, he announced an allocation of Rs 15 crore for the construction of two hostels, with Rs 7.5 crore designated for each, one for boys and one for girls. Mr. Reddy urged Vice-Chancellor Prof. D. Ravinder to expedite the tendering process to initiate the construction work promptly.

Mr. Kishan Reddy emphasized that Osmania University holds a status no less than a monument and suggested that, similar to iconic landmarks like Charminar and Golconda, the Arts College should be illuminated not solely on significant occasions such as Republic Day (January 26) and Independence Day (August 15) but throughout the entire year.

The minister also pointed out that there is a noticeable absence of a prominent Sangeeta Nataka Academy in the southern part of India. He announced plans to establish a Cultural Centre in the vicinity of Jubilee Hills, with an approximate budget of Rs 26 crore, aiming to match the caliber of renowned institutions like Tyagaraja Gyana Sabha and Ravindra Bharati.

Earlier in the day, the minister inaugurated an enthralling Dynamic Lighting System at Arts College, Osmania University. This project, developed under the Scheme of Assistance to Central Agencies by the Ministry of Tourism, is designed to visually enhance the Arts College facade by vividly portraying the university’s rich history and multifaceted contributions.

Illicit currency activity involves transactions associated with stolen assets, fraudulent schemes, ransomware attacks, human trafficking, funding for terrorism, and operations within darknet markets

“In 2017, the currency space registered $4.9 billion in illicit transactions. Although this figure dipped to $4.6 billion the following year, it nearly tripled to reach $12.3 billion in 2019.”

The data shows that in 2020, there was a decrease, with approximately 30 percent fewer illicit transactions. However, from 2021 onwards, there was a substantial increase in illicit cryptocurrency activities in Crypto Market.”

Additionally, from 2020 to 2021, the total transfer volume of illicit currency transactions more than doubled, reaching $18.1 billion.

The pattern of unlawful activities persisted in 2022, with the total transaction value soaring to $20.6 billion, representing a substantial 308 percent rise over a five-year period.

However, the ratio of illicit transactions compared to the overall currency volume has declined during this timeframe. These transactions constituted 0.86 percent of all currency transactions five years ago, but this figure dropped to 0.24 percent last year.”

Rudra Rachana, an orphan hailing from Thandriyala village in Jagtial district, moved to Hyderabad after completing her SSC exams. She resided in a state home at Yousufguda to pursue a polytechnic course.

When it came to her aspirations for higher education, Rachana faced financial challenges and began searching for a donor. Her predicament was brought to the attention of Minister Rama Rao through social media.

Responding to her plea, the minister provided assistance that enabled Rachana to secure a seat at CBIT (Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology). After completing her studies, she successfully found employment and started her career.
