Finally the Four convicts were hanged at Delhi’s Tihar Jail

The four men were convicted in the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case, a crime that shook the country and forced the government to bring in tougher laws on crime against women. The crime took place on December 16, 2012, when a 23-year-old medical student boarded a bus in Delhi along with her male friend.

On board the bus, the woman and her friend were assaulted by a group of six people. The woman, who was gang-rape, died two weeks later. The brutal nature of the attack led to country-wide protests and forced the government to set up a commission to review the country’s laws on rape and crime and against women. The commission’s review ultimately led to laws prescribing stricter punishments for crimes against women.

Six people were accused of gang-raping and murdering the 23-year-old medical student, who came to be called Nirbhaya. Of the six, one was a juvenile and was convicted by the juvenile justice board. He served three years in a reformation home and was released.

Of the remaining five, one committed suicide in jail. The four others were convicted by a trial court and sentenced to die. The convictions and the death penalties handed to the four men were upheld by the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court.

The last couple of months saw a flurry of petitions being filed by the four convicts. In their pleas, the convicts asked the Supreme Court to review their death sentences. The court rejected all the pleas. The convicts also pleaded for mercy in front of the President. The President rejected all the mercy petitions.

In the last 24 hours, some of the four convicts again moved various courts seeking relief from the death penalty. All the courts, which included the Patiala House Court in Delhi, the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court, refused to intervene and stay the executions.

After the Supreme Court rejected the final plea at around 3:30 am, the four convicts were hanged at Delhi’s Tihar Jail at 5:30 am. Their bodies will now be sent for post-mortem.

Finally Four convicts have been hanged this Morning

0

The four convicts in the Nirbhaya case have finally been hanged this morning, in the early hours. With the hanging of these convicts, justice has finally been served to the poor girl who was brutally raped and murdered in 2012.

Lawyer A.P.Singh tried to defend the four convicts, and did everything he could to save them, but has failed in the end. Speaking to the media today, A.P.Singh has made some controversial statements that are shocking to everyone.

He said that he would burn his own daughter with petrol if she engaged in pre-marital sex. This shows the hypocritical, male-chauvinistic and narrow-minded nature of the Lawyer who tried to prove the convicts innocent and save them from death.

Pawan Kalyan Movie Completes 40 Percent of the Shooting

0

Power Star Pawan Kalyan preferred a story that Director Krish described him even before he paused the film profession. But, when he decided to make his return, Power Star made certain to select the movie and got it developed. Producer AM Ratnam who made Kushi with Pawan Kalyan also waited for the hero for a long time. The three are now proceeding forward with a movie provisionally named as Viroopaksha.

According to the stories in the film Nagar, the movie rotates throughout Mughal empire days where a burglar attempts to nab Kohinoor diamond. The film unit began the shoot for the movie long back and they are now shooting intense action sequences in a ship set, at Aluminium factory.

The majority of the film’s portions are taking place at the Aluminium factory and the makers have completed almost 40 percent of the film’s shoot already. To avoid the attention of everyone, the makers felt that the factory is the best place to carry out the shoot without any disturbance.

Ranji Trophy Final: Vasavada ton puts Saurashtra in the driving seat

0

Arpit Vasavada’s ton put Saurashtra firmly in control of the Ranji Trophy final as the hosts progressed to 339 for 5 by Tea on the second day against Bengal. Pujara too proceeded to scrape it out, battling throat infection and fever, progressing to 51 off 193 deliveries, and in the process helping the sixth-wicket partnership swell to 148.

After working out a wicket-less opening session, where the hosts added 72 runs, they proceeded to tire the Bengal bowlers as the second session produced 61 from 24 overs. It was another quiet session with not much support from the pitch for the pacers. Shahbaz Ahmed did trouble the batsmen but with the slow nature of the track, he wasn’t able to create enough to earn a wicket.

The moment of the day came in the 134th over as Vasavada got to his century off 255 balls. Just like he had rescued the side in the semifinal against Gujarat, the hosts once again needed him to step up with the side struggling at 206 for 5. However, it was Pujara’s support effort that helped the side maintain solidity. The India Test No. 3 played out 193 balls and got his half-century in the 138th over to ensure the hosts took another session.

There was another rejig in the on-field match officials. After C Shamshuddin failed to take the field in the morning session, local umpire Piyush Kakka did the square-leg umpiring duties while K Anantha Padmanabhan officiated from both ends. In the second session though, Shamshuddin took up the third umpire responsibilities while S Ravi took the field. Shamshuddin will fly out after suffering an injury to his abdomen while the BCCI has already summoned Yashwant Barde as a replacement.

In the opening session, both Vasavada and Pujara ensured there weren’t too many opportunities for the visitors. Shahbaz Ahmed, as he did on an opening day, had the batsmen fending but without much luck. He was a tad unlucky when the lbw decision review against Pujara in the 98th over was shot down. Pujara had come down the track and was hit in front but was adjudged not out. The review was taken but the impact was more than three meters and hence the on-field decision stayed.

Brief scores: Saurashtra 339/5 (Arpit Vasavada 106*, Avi Barot 54, Vishvaraj Jadeja 54; Akash Deep 3-62) vs Bengal.

The actor mentioned that he did not anticipate his victory but always wanted to win the show. “No, I did anticipate my win but I did focus that I wanted to win,” he added. Finally, we asked if he was willing to do a show with Shehnaaz Gill.
