After churning out action movies like ‘Aadi’, ‘Chennakesavareddy,’ ‘Bunny,’ ‘Samba’ and ‘Lakshmi,’ action director-turned-hero V V Vinayak has reportedly chosen an action role for his debut flick as hero ‘Seenayya’. “V V Vinayak is a master in dishing out action films and connects well with such subjects. When he heard a story of a fiery role, he agreed to play the lead, despite showing some reluctance initially,” says a source, close to the unit and adds “He will be playing a brooding role and would be indulging in few slam-bang action sequences to give action heroes a run for their money,” he adds.

Actually, young director Narasimha Rao was adamant to rope in ‘Tagore’ director for the lead role and even convinced producer Dil Raju and then things fell in place. “Narasimha Rao wanted Vinayak at all costs and managed to convince Dil Raju to bet his money on director-turned-actor as he felt that he would be the best choice,” the source points out.
However, at the muhurat, Vinayak didn’t reveal much about the story and said “Dil Raju garu is known for his quick decisions. I heard the story from Narasimha Rao.

It was like a biopic of somebody. Mine was a very good and solid character which has various shades of emotions.” He claimed to have lost weight to fit into the fiery role, while director Narasimha Rao said that he is hopeful of making an impressive film. “Vinayak didn’t want to essay character roles of father or uncle in movies. In fact, acting was never in his mind, until Dil Raju and Narasimha Rao approached him with a powerful script which he couldn’t decline.” the soure concludes.

There is a link between petrol, and the plastic bottle is our daily life because most of us use a plastic container to carry petrol for our vehicles as an emergency purpose and store them.

Hyderabad: There is a link between petrol, and the plastic bottle is our daily life because most of us use a plastic container to carry petrol for our vehicles as an emergency purpose and store them. Now the Telangana government has put a check to this process by issuing guidelines to petrol pumps on filling fuel in plastic bottles. The government has banned carrying petrol in plastic bottles across the state. Over this, many fuel stations have arranged special signboards.

Recently, in the murder case of Abdullapurmet Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy, the accused has carried petrol to her office in a plastic bottle. He poured the petrol on Tahsildar and set her on the blaze, where she died on the spot. This incident has become a sensation in the two Telugu states. Over conducting the review on the incident, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has taken a key decision that nowhere in Telangana the petrol bunks should fill petrol in the plastic bottles. Attack on Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy is the main reason for CM KCR to take this decision. It’s in the news that on seeing the attack on Vijaya Reddy, many are threatening the government officials in the same manner. In order to create security for government officials, the government has taken this ban decision.

IPL lessons can help Rishabh Pant regain touch : Pravin Amre

0

A cricketer’s worst nightmare is when the critics start to go after him. Even a minor slip-up is highlighted, not to mention how a dropped catch or a poor shot is dissected. Rishabh Pant is going through this torrid phase now and must be starting to feel that the universe has begun to conspire against him.

Sarcastic posts targeting his failures are trending on social media; there has been sharp criticism by the team management and experts. After losing his spot in the Test playing eleven in the home series against South Africa, and with the T20 matches against Bangladesh also not going his way, the 22-year-old is feeling the heat from all quarters.

Mainly a batsman-keeper, his glovework first came under the scanner. He was promoted as a batting wonder, but the runs have also dried up. What is he is doing wrong? While he has struggled in T20s, he has cracked the format in the high-pressure Indian Premier League.

He entered the 2019 IPL after a similar low phase (after a torrid time against Australia in the final two ODIs where his keeping was poor and he didn’t score many runs), but turned it around during the league, emerging as Delhi Capitals’ second-highest run-getter with 488 runs (seventh overall).

“He was coming after poor scores. It was mainly the way chief coach Ricky Ponting handled him and gave him the space to be himself,” said former India batsman Pravin Amre, who was Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach last season. “It is also about not trying too hard; we tried to ensure he didn’t fall into the trap by coming under pressure. We tried to keep it simple, break the game into small parts.”

Amre said the key to Pant’s game is timing. “He is like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, a great timer of the ball. He has to focus on getting it right. He seems to be confused about how he should be going about it, whether to play the waiting game or his natural attacking game.”

Out of nine wins, Delhi Capitals got last IPL, Pant was Man-of-the-Match in three, including in the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad. “Most batsmen inflict maximum damage during the powerplay and death overs. Pant is equally devastating in the middle-overs, and that’s what makes him so special,” Pravin Amre said.

Ahead of the series decider, skipper Sharma had urged everyone to desist from criticizing Pant. He has seen the impact Rishab Pant can have on a game. Against the Sharma-led Mumbai Indians last season, Pant started with one run off the first six balls and then scored 50 in 17, remaining 78 not out off 27 balls. It was Delhi’s most difficult game—tournament opener, match at the Wankhede Stadium and the toss had been lost. However, Pant helped his team reach 213, to eventually win by 37 runs.

On Sunday, however, there was no respite for Pant as he flopped with the bat and made a poor DRS call as a keeper, leading to catcalls in the Nagpur stadium. During Bangladesh’s chase of 175, pacer Khaleel Ahmed bowled a short, wide delivery that Mohammad Naim tried to hit.

Pant launched an appeal for caught behind and convinced Sharma to seek a review, but replays showed the ball was clearly missing the bat. Following this, comparisons between him and MS Dhoni—known to invariably get his DRS calls right—have gone viral on Twitter. With India looking to settle on their core squad for the 2020 T20 World Cup, the team management will also be keen to get Pant back to his best, like his IPL team.

High Court adjourns hearing on privatisation of RTC

HIGHLIGHTS Telangana High Court has adjourned hearing on privatization of TSRTC routes to November 12.

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court has adjourned hearing on privatization of TSRTC routes to November 12. The State government submitted all relevant documents in the affidavit including cabinet decision on privatization of routes before the court as sought by the division in the earlier hearing. The court turned down the demand to declare the strike as illegal.

Chief Secretary SK Joshi accompanied by the RTC officials submitted the affidavit on State government’s assistance to the crisis-hit corporation. The official made it clear that the RTC will not overcome the financial crisis by the State’s help alone. State Advocate General BS Prasad informed the court that the privatization of RTC was a policy decision as the cabinet also approved the same. The RTC workers have gone on strike despite the government’s request to come for a dialogue to resolve their demands.

The government counsel requested the court to announce the RTC strike illegal as the transport services come under the Essential Service Maintenance Act (ESMA). The court declined to give any orders against the strike and made it clear that without issuing orders under ESMA, the services will not be considered as essential services. The State government also urged the Court to allow it to take action against the striking workers under Industrial Disputes Act but the judges rejected.

Another Whistleblower Guns At Infosys CEO Salil Parekh: Report

0

Another whistleblower from global software major Infosys accused its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salil Parekh of committing misdeeds and urged the Chairman and the board of directors to act against him on his volatile complaints.

“Though it is a year and 8 months since Mr. Parekh joined the company, he operates from Mumbai in violation of the condition that the CEO has to be based in Bengaluru and not Mumbai. What is stopping the board to insist on his movement to Bengaluru,” said the whistleblower in an unsigned and undated letter to Infosys Chairman and co-founder Nandan Nilekani and Independent Directors on the Board.

Claiming to be an employee in the $11-billion company’s finance department, the whistleblower complained that he was unable to disclose his identity fearing retaliation for the damning disclosures he was making against Mr. Parekh.

“I am an employee working in the finance department. I am submitting this whistleblower complaint as the matter is so volatile that I fear retaliation if I disclose my identity. Please excuse me for the same, but the matter is of grave importance,” said the employee in the complaint, accessed by IANS through sources on Monday night.

As an employee and a shareholder, the whistleblower said it was his duty to bring to the notice of the chairman and the board a few facts about Mr. Parekh that were eroding the value systems of the company.

“Hope that you will execute your responsibilities in the true spirit of Infosys and in favor of employees and shareholders who have so much of faith in the company,” the complaint noted.

As Mr. Parekh did not relocate to Bengaluru even after he was given two months to do and was visiting the tech hub twice a month, the techie said the company had incurred Rs. 22 lakh towards his airfare and local transportation.

“Four business class tickets per month plus home to airport drop in Mumbai, airport pick-up in Bengaluru and drop on the return journey,” alleged the whistleblower.

Infosys, however, did not respond to the whistleblower’s complaint till the time of releasing this news breaking story.

This is the second whistleblower’s complaint after a few anonymous employees accused Mr. Parekh and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Nilanjan Roy of unethical practices in a 2-page letter to the board on September 20, a copy of which IANS accessed through sources.

When there was no response from the board to their letter, an unnamed whistleblower on behalf of the unethical employees on October 3 wrote to the US-based office of the Whistleblower Protection Programme, alleging willful misstatement material accounting irregularities for (the) last two quarters (April-September).

Reminding the board that all the employees pay for their transport from home to office and back, the senior staffer said it was not wrong to expect the same from the CEO.

“Please initiate action to recover this money (transport expenses) from the CEO immediately. Mr. Parekh is a smart cookie. He has taken an apartment on rent in Bengaluru to hoodwink people who may question him, but that does not mean he has relocated to Bengaluru. He has done this with malicious intentions to mislead the board and the company’s founders.”

Referring to the CEO’s record of visits to Bengaluru, the complaint said Mr. Parekh leaves Mumbai leisurely at 10 a.m. and reaches Bengaluru by 11.30 a.m. and office by 1.30 p.m.

“Mr. Parekh spends an afternoon in the office and next forenoon he is off to Mumbai by 2 p.m. This kind of involvement of the CEO in the company is the worst that we have seen to date. This, unfortunately, is not setting the right example for other employees to follow. Incidentally, it has become the norm. Many people have started working from home and nobody to ask them any questions. Even if tough managers want to ask questions, how would they as the CEO himself is working from home,” the whistleblower recalled.

Accusing the CEO of having stock market connections and investing in several firms, the complainant said Mr. Parekh stayed in Mumbai to have better oversight of his investments.

“This is a gross violation of the company’s value system and has to be investigated and action for (Mr. Parekh’s) termination should be initiated. Will the company allow such a deed by other employees? If not, then why spare the CEO? What is the toothless NRC (Nomination Remuneration Committee) doing?” asked the whistleblower.

WhatsApp Gets New Beta Gets Dark Wallpaper

0

There has to be a time when this finally becomes a reality. Perhaps, this is it. WhatsApp is one step closer to the rollout of the Dark Mode. The latest crumb of information suggests that the newest beta version of WhatsApp includes a new WhatsApp wallpaper perhaps designed to go better with the darker theme. The Dark Mode is very much in vogue with the new Apple iOS 13 and the Google Android 10 operating systems focusing on making the Dark Mode an integral part of the smartphone experience, and most popular third-party apps playing ball. Except the Facebook-owned WhatsApp, thus far.

The good folks at WABetaInfo have discovered that the newest WhatsApp Beta app includes darker wallpapers for chat windows. You will be able to enjoy this spot of darkness if you download the WhatsApp beta 2.19.327 for Android. Earlier, a teal color wallpaper was also discovered in one of the previous beta versions of the app, which could very well be WhatsApp prepping a wider range of wallpapers for the Dark Mode, whenever it arrives.

WhatsApp Gets New Beta Gets Dark Wallpaper

It is perhaps an understatement that the Dark Mode for WhatsApp, the most popular instant messaging app in the world, is highly anticipated. And it is also a surprise that it has taken this long, considering the fact that its siblings Facebook Messenger and Instagram, both have had the Dark Mode option for a while now. We still do not know if this beta version is the final preparation before the wider release of the Dark Mode option to all users, or we will have more beta tests in the coming weeks. All we can do is hope.

WhatsApp surely has a lot on its plate, because there is the small matter of the battery drain bug on Android phones, particularly certain OnePlus phones as well as Xiaomi and Google Pixel phones, which needs to be patched as well.

Hope Shines With a Ton As WI Clean-Sweep AFG

0

Shai Hope anchored West Indies‘ chase with a superbly-paced unbeaten 109 as the Caribbean side trumped Afghanistan by five wickets in the third and final ODI of the series in Lucknow. With the victory, West Indies also clean-swept the rubber 3-0.

On a surface where the ball was gripping a touch, West Indies had found themselves in a spot of bother at 4 for 2. Both Evin Lewis and Shimron Hetmyer fell to Mujeeb Ur Rehman’s carrom ball. With West Indies in need of a partnership of substance, Brandon King, the debutant, and Hope put on an alliance of 64 to prop up the innings. King, in particular, looked in fine touch, pulling and driving Mujeeb and Sharafuddin Ashraf respectively to the boundary boards.

Just when the pair looked set to share a sizeable stand, Rashid Khan, the Afghanistan skipper, led from the front by castling King with a googly. With the required run-rate climbing steadily, West Indies needed one of their batsmen to push the accelerator pedal. Nicholas Pooran, the promising batsman, and Hope provided the impetus with eye-catching shots.

Hope repeatedly skipped down the track to loft Nabi down the ground while Pooran caressed Yamin Ahmadzai through covers. However, against the run of play, Pooran lofted one straight to the fielder at long-on and perished. Kieron Pollard, the West Indies skipper, joined Hope in the middle and put the Caribbean side on course for a win. In the 35th over, he talked Ashraf for two sixes and a boundary to bring the required run-rate to below six an over.

At that juncture, Nabi gave Afghanistan a bit lift by removing Pollard, but the pair of Hope and Roston Chase steered West Indies home with an unbeaten stand of 71. Hope also reached his seventh ODI hundred in just his 66th game. Chase, his batting partner, provided the finishing touches with a pull-off Ahmadzai in the penultimate over.

Earlier, Asghar Afghan compiled a gritty hand of 86 to help Afghanistan recover from a precarious position. At 118 for 5, when the experienced Mohammad Nabi (50 not out) joined forces with Asghar, the Asian nation were in a spot of bother. At that stage, the pair took a sensible approach by dealing with a diet of singles and twos.

It was only in the 43rd over that the pair looked to break free. Romario Shepherd, with his singly action, banged one short but Asghar was up to the task as he cracked a forceful pull that easily cleared the boundary. Nabi also joined in the act by drilling the same bowler through covers for a four. Asghar then continued to showcase his footwork against spin by going inside-out to loft Walsh over the extra cover region. In the penultimate over, too, the former Afghanistan captain clobbered a couple more sixes off Joseph before he spooned a catch to the fielder at short third man. However, by then, he and Nabi had powered Afghanistan to a competitive score.

Incidentally, for large parts of the innings, West Indies’s bowlers had put the side in the ascendancy. After Afghanistan was inserted into bat, West Indies made incisions at regular intervals to peg the home team back. Ibrahim Zadran, the debutant, was the first one to be dismissed after he was trapped in front by Alzarri Joseph. Rahmat Shah, batting at number three, fell to a soft dismissal, pulling a short of a length delivery from Paul to midwicket.

Ikram Ali didn’t last long while Zazai threw his wicket away after completing his fifty. To make matters worse, Najibullah, who has been in fine form, fell to Roston Chase. The experienced duo of Nabi and Ashgar came to the fore and shared a timely 127-run stand. For West Indies, Paul picked up three wickets while Chase ended up with impressive figures of 1 for 24.

Brief scores: Afghanistan 249/7 in 50 overs (Asghar Afghan 86, Mohammad Nabi 50*; Keemo Paul 3-44) lost to West Indies253/5 in 48.4 overs (Shai Hope 109*, Roston Chase 42*; Mujeeb Ur Rehman 2-49) by five wickets.

CCTV footage shows exact moment trains collided in Kacheguda

0

CCTV footage, which shows the exact moment a local train rammed into an express train at the Kacheguda railway station in Hyderabad on Monday, has surfaced. The Multi-Modal Transport System ( MMTS) train rammed into Kurnool City-Secunderabad Hundry Intercity-Express around 10.30 am, which left 16 injured.

The video shows the two trains moving towards each other on the same track, before ramming into each other. The impact of the collision was such that it lifted several bogies of the MMTS trains off the tracks.

The passengers are then seen running out of the derailed train after the accident. SCR officials said six coaches of the MMTS train and three coaches of the Hundry Express were affected.

The Express train, which was approaching Kacheguda Station had significantly slowed down, while the Lingampally-Falaknuma MMTS train, which was on the same track while departing the station, was moving at a considerable speed. The clip shows the MMTS train slowing down just before impact.

Watch the video below:

Though technical error in the signaling system was initially believed to have caused the accident, South Central Railway officials later ruled out the possibility. They blamed human error for the collision, with preliminary investigation revealing it was the MMTS loco pilot’s fault.

According to a South Central Railway official, the MMTS train that was traveling from Lingampally to Falaknuma was on Platform 2 of Kacheguda Station. Per the schedule, once the Hundry Express (from Secunderabad to Kurnool) reached the station, it would be taken on Platform 4 and then the MMTS train would be given the signal to depart. The Hundry Express train was given the signal and was entering the station. However, the loco pilot of the MMTS train also started moving, although it was given the signal, the official said.

Loco pilot L Chandrasekhar, who was driving the Lingampally-Falaknuma MMTS train, was trapped in the driver’s cabin after the train collided. After eight hours of grueling efforts, rescue workers finally pulled out the loco pilot alive from the mangled motorman cabin of the MMTS train on Monday evening.

Doctors at the government-run Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad said 16 injured were brought to the hospital and six of them were discharged.

A high level of inquiry has been ordered into the accident.

OnePlus 8 Pro To Sport Quad Rear Camera Setup With a ToF Sensor

0

OnePlus 8 Pro, the next-generation flagship phone by the Chinese company, appears to be in the works with dual hole-punch display design and an all-new quad rear camera setup than what was featured on the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro. A prototype suggesting the design of the OnePlus 8 Pro has surfaced online to tip the major changes. The new OnePlus phone would come alongside the OnePlus 8. Both new handsets would support 5G networks and run Android 10 with a new OxygenOS on top.

The prototype suggesting the design of the OnePlus 8 Pro appears to have the dual hole-punch display design to house two selfie cameras, just like the Samsung Galaxy S10+. One of the images showing the prototype that has been posted by a tipster on Weibo also hints at a curved-edge display of the OnePlus 8 Pro — similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro₹ 44,999 and OnePlus 7T Pro. The smartphone also seems to retain the company’s iconic Alert Slider.

Last month, some purported renders of the OnePlus 8 Pro also suggested its curved display. The renders, however, hinted at a single hole-punch display design instead of the dual cutout that has been seen on the newly emerged prototype.

The fresh images showcasing the prototype have also suggested a new OxygenOS version on the OnePlus 8 Pro. At the back, the phone appears to have a distinct vertically-placed camera setup compared to what we saw on the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T₹ 37,999 Pro. There are also quad rear cameras, compared to the triple rear cameras of its predecessors, along with an LED flash.

Unlike the regular OnePlus branding visible on the previous phones, the OnePlus 8 Pro prototype shows the text OnePlus 5G on the back panel. This suggests 5G support on the new smartphone.

Notably, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau at the OnePlus 7T launch in London suggested that the OnePlus 8 series could have 5G support. The company is also in plans to not just launch but also manufacture its new 5G smartphones to India.

OnePlus is also seen to offer a USB Type-C port, single loudspeaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the OnePlus 8 Pro. Also, the prototype has a protective case, which might come bundled with the smartphone.

We weren’t able to confirm the authenticity of the OnePlus 8 Pro prototype. It is, therefore, safe to consider its images with a pinch of salt.

If we go by some previous reports, the OnePlus 8 Pro would have a 120Hz AMOLED display — an upgrade to the 90Hz panel featured on the existing OnePlus smartphones. The new OnePlus flagship may also have a ToF (Time of Flight) depth sensor alongside the quad rear camera setup.

The Congress leadership is undecided over support to the ideologically-opposed Shiv Sena days after its chief Sonia Gandhi strongly ruled it out.
The CWC, in the meeting at Sonia Gandhi’s home in Delhi, will decide whether to offer support to a Shiv Sena-led government and the Congress’s role in such an arrangement.

The Shiv Sena pulled out its only minister from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the center this morning, in a precursor to a break-up with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The Sena move to exit the NDA meets a big condition that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) of Sharad Pawar had for any possibility of talks with the party on government formation. The ball is in the court of the NCP and the Congress.

“Whatever decision is to be taken will be taken only after discussions with the Congress,” said Sharad Pawar.

It is the Congress that will take convincing to back the Sena, which is anathema to the party.

Backing the Sena, a party steeped in Hindutva politics and “anti-Congress”, is a big ideological shift for the Congress; to take such a step, the party is likely to insist on a common program and policies.

Maharashtra Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut is likely to meet top Congress leaders in New Delhi to seek support for his party’s government in the state, news agency IANS reported, quoting sources.

Congress MLAs are at a resort in Jaipur in party-ruled Rajasthan for protection from “poaching” attempts. Most of them are inclined to support a no-BJP government in Maharashtra.

“We are discussing all the options before us. We have not chosen anything still,” Maharashtra Congress leader Ashok Chavan told news agency.

Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, who is also with the MLAs, denied knowledge of reports that Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had contacted Sonia Gandhi. “We will do whatever the high command will suggest. Our original stand is that we will sit in the opposition as people gave us the mandate to sit in the opposition and we will do the same,” Mr. Kharge told ANI.

Those in the Congress who favor backing the Sena argue that the BJP formed governments in Goa and Manipur even when they were not the single largest party, and the governors allowed such BJP-led coalitions to take power.

For Sena too, accepting Congress’s support will mean a loss of identity, which leaves the stability of any arrangement between the two suspects.

While the Congress leadership in Delhi is under increasing pressure from its Maharashtra MLAs, one of its leaders in the state, Sanjay Nirupam, warned the party that such a move would be “disastrous”.

The BJP won 105 seats in last month’s Maharashtra election. Along with the Sena’s 56, the NDA had a clear majority. But the Sena refused to form the government with the BJP without a “50:50” deal including rotational chief ministership. After the BJP withdrew from the race, saying it could not form a government on its own, the Sena is looking to take power with the support of the NCP (54) and Congress (44).
