In the news constantly, the menace of fake certificates wreaking havoc in the lives of students and young professionals is surely a great one to take up as a plotline. Nikhil Siddharth, who has awaited this film’s release for more than six months (since it got certified in May last) is a journalist on a mission: to expose wrongdoings and maintain an ideal, professional working style in whatever he takes up.

Disaster strikes when he is ensnared in a duplicate certificate racket, which dents his credibility and denies him his dream job with the BBC, who show him the door owing to his doubtful academic qualifications. No wonder, it becomes a one-man mission as he goes about bashing his way through, in a bid to unearth the truth, all along the 149-minute run time of the movie.

The Tamil original, which also was long in the making before it got released and earned a decent turnover ultimately, stood out because of the vulnerable status of the hero ( Atharva) who is constantly edged out by a chilling, menacing villain who matches him step for step. Tarun Arora is retained from the original to play the bad guy and he replays the role once again, to limited impact.

This is because the twists and turns, which made the viewers sit up and await the unfolding of events in the original somehow fails miserably in the Telugu version, which is reduced to being a superhero venture, with a beefed-up hero bashing the bad guys over and over. Somehow the suspenseful undertone which one saw in ‘Kanithan’ is missing in ‘Arjun Suravaram’ which remains a non-stop slam-bang, actioner without an emotional connect. Lavanya Tripathi resurfaces like the hero after a break and she too has nothing much to do, despite being the daughter of the channel owner where her beau is breaking new stories. Ultimately, it all ends up as a run-of-the-mill potboiler which underexploited the potential the story had, adding no value to the team which came up with it in the first place.

Movie Review: Action
Director: Sundar C
Producer: Raveendran
Music Director: Hip Hop Tamizha
Starring: Vishal, Tamannah, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ramki, Kabir Duhan Singh
Release Date: 15th November 2019
Rating: 2.5/5

  1. Action movie Review: Vishal, Tamannah Bhatia, and Aishwarya Lekshmi starrer action entertainer drama Action, helmed by Sundar C, which has already created a lot of buzz on the social media, has arrived on the theatres today. Let’s see how the film Action is.

Story: Subhash (Vishal), an army officer, is the son of a chief minister (Pala Karuppaiah), who has to track down the people behind the dastardly terror attack that has led to the death of his fiancée (Aishwarya Lekshmi) and his elder brother (Ramki). The rest of the story is as to how Subhash goes on a mission and finds the culprits behind it.

Plus Points:

· Vishal’ performance
· Action sequences
· Tamannah
· Suspense
· Production Values
· Cinematography

Minus Points:

· Few predictable scenes
· Weak villain

Performance: Kollywood star Vishal as an army officer is perfect. He has excelled in realistic action sequences. His body language and facial expressions are superb. Vishal has done all the stunts himself. Tamannah Bhatia looks super-hot in songs and does her part very well. Sayaji Shinde did his major role well. Akanksha Puri is super-hot in her negative role and the actress provides good eye candy. The rest of the cast performed accordingly.

Technical: The Storyline of the film is very interesting. It is told by a storyteller with a perfect understanding of the talent of its cast. The background score is pulsating and plays an integral part in Action. This time the director Sundar C tries a different attempt with a small twist in Action. The cinematography work is top-notch and showcases the action in a superb manner. Editing is smooth. The production values of this film are extravagant. Telugu dubbing is neat.

Analysis: Action starts with an action sequence set in Istanbul with ludicrous stunts. Everyone expected that there will be a strong antagonist who might prove to be more than a match to the actor, but what the audiences get is a weak villain. The last half an hour of the film disappointed the viewers. Terrorist hiding in Pakistan being brought to India have been showcased in many movies before. Sundar C became successful to impress the audience by creating good suspense.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ review: Chiranjeevi leads from the front in this story of valour

0

A long disclaimer precedes the film, through which the makers emphasise that while the story is inspired by the life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, they do not claim historical accuracy for all the events shown in the narrative. They have used information available in the public domain and folklore, with cinematic dramatisation. This disclaimer is a smart move with which they take the leeway to narrate the story of Narasimha Reddy whose valour preceded the Sepoy Mutiny and make it larger than life, to be headlined by one of the biggest superstars of Telugu cinema, and take a populist approach to cater to his large fan base, and beyond.

The story is narrated by Laxmibai, the Rani of Jhansi (Anushka Shetty pulling off a regal cameo, the way only she can), whose army is outnumbered by the British. She narrates Narasimha’s story, urging her soldiers to draw inspiration from the man who fought till the end.

The large canvas on which the story unfolds is an aesthetic one. Rajeevan Nambiar’s production team prefers a muted colour palette that’s brought to life beautifully by cinematographer Rathnavelu, and the costumes and styling by Sushmita Konidela, Uthara Menon and team take a slightly pan-Indian approach than depicting a strictly Telugu style of attire, though the story is set in areas in and around Kurnool, like Koilkuntla and Nallamala Hills.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ review: Chiranjeevi leads from the front in this story of valour

When Amitabh Bachchan appears as Gosayi Venkanna, in a gurukul that’s set amid rolling hills and a gushing stream, it feels like a visual creation of a page from an Indian comic book. The principles he teaches young Narasimha become the foundations for the larger war.

Narasimha and more than 60 of his contemporaries were polygars, and the film’s lavish scale portrays them almost like kings. As the East India Company makes inroads, the polygars are nearly stripped off their power. The young Narasimha doesn’t like the idea of an outsider oppressing his native land and people, particularly the agrarian sector. He bides his time before he can mount a people-led fight against the British.

Intertwined into his single-minded focus of not giving up what is rightfully his, is his own personal story. He tells the dancer Lakshmi (Tamannaah Bhatia) that the subject of her art shouldn’t be confined to temples and deities, but reach and inspire people. To his wife Siddhamma (Nayanthara), who has unquestioningly adored him since childhood, he asks permission to go fight the war and not be tied down to family duties. It’s a nice touch to have him ask his wife’s consent rather than take it for granted.

Director Surender Reddy takes the cinematic liberty of equating Narasimha Reddy to Narasimha avatar in a key episode where he takes down a British officer. This entire sequence speaks of the skilful action choreography and execution.

In another segment, when Chiranjeevi questions the veracity of high taxes and asks what the British has done to deserve it, it reminded me of the eponymous lines by Sivaji Ganesan in Veera Pandiya Katta Bomman. Capping off such a situation, in true Telugu film style, is what happens next. It takes the British officer by surprise, and is capable of eliciting whistles in the hall.

Sye Raa… unabashedly plays out in the mainstream, popular format. Chiranjeevi might be introduced to the audience while in meditation, under water, but the film does all it can to play to his superstar image. You could debate if some of the conversations and slogans actually happened, or give in and see how well the crowd-pleasing format has been pulled off. Chiranjeevi leads from the front, showing that he isn’t done yet and is still a superstar. It’s one of his memorable performances too.

The film is populated with characters essayed by prominent names. And it manages to give most of them their due. Both Nayanthara and Tamannaah make an impression in their limited screen time, without ending up as pretty, ethereal-looking props.

Amitabh Bachchan’s is not a fleeting cameo. He appears at crucial junctures and is a guiding force. Kiccha Sudeep gets a part that looks tailormade for him and he breezes through it with swagger. There’s no premeditating what he’ll do when, and his eyes don’t give away anything. Vijay Sethupathi, speaking in a believable style of Tamil-laced Telugu, is the ‘Hanuman’, lending complete support to Narasimha. It’s a brief part and the actor lends his charismatic touch to it. Talking of Jagapati Babu, does he ever go wrong?

The war portions feel overdrawn, despite some ingenuity that made someone in the hall comment “did they exchange notes with Rajamouli?”. Julius Packiam’s background score and Amit Trivedi’s music try to keep the mood intact through the running time of 170 minutes. Pawan Kalyan’s voiceover too, adds weight to the legend of Narasimha Reddy.

Brief Introduction:

NTR-Kathanayakudu Movie Review & Rating – Telugu Bullet

Amidst huge expectations and hype, the biopic on legendary NTR has hit the screens worldwide in a record number of theatres today. This film has created a sensation from the initial start and the director Teja is the first director on board for this film. But due to some reasons, he has walked out of the project and Krish has come in to take on this prestigious project. Balakrishna who has earlier worked with Krish for GPSK has given him this mighty responsibility of directing the biopic of this legendary person. This film has been divided into two parts i.e NTR-Kathanayakudu and NTR-Mahanayakudu. Let’s see whether the film reached the humongous expectations of the audience or not.

What Is Story All About?

NTR-Kathanayakudu Movie Review & Rating – Telugu Bullet

The first frame of the film showcases NTR’s wife Basavatarakam(Vidya Balan) taking the cancer treatment in Chennai in Adiyar cancer hospital in 1984. The film starts with Basavatarakam seeing the pics of NTR’s childhood. NTR(Balakrishna) works as a sub-registrar at Vijayawada. But he comes across a strange situation where taking the bribe is a part of his job. Vexed by the culture of his work, he decides to go to L.V Prasad to get into the film industry. He goes to Madras and meets LV Prasad finally. How did films become a major part of NTR’s life? How did he become the superstar of Telugu cinema and what challenges and hurdles he has faced during his journey in the films is the main crux of the film which you have to experience it on the silver screen.

Artist’s Performances:

NTR-Kathanayakudu Movie Review & Rating – Telugu Bullet

Balakrishna’s performance is the top notch of the film. He has got into the skin of the legendary NTR’s role. Balayya performance in Diviseema episode will surely bring tears in the eyes of the audience. Vidya Balan has mesmerized in the role of Basavatarakam. Rana as CBN, Sumanth as ANR, and Kalyan Ram as Harikrishna have fit into the roles perfectly. Nithya Menon, Brahmanandam, Shriya, and few others have done their roles decently in their confined space.

Technicalities:

NTR-Kathanayakudu Movie Review & Rating – Telugu BulletThe production values of the film are very good. The dialogues penned by Sai Madhav Burra is top notch. Cinematography by Gnanasekhar is another big asset to the film. M.M Keeravani has been pretty impressive with his background score. Editing could have been better as some songs come and go without any proper lead. The captain of the ship, director Krish has mesmerized the audience with his magnificent taking.

Analysis:

NTR-Kathanayakudu Movie Review & Rating – Telugu Bullet

NTR who has started his life as a common man has turned into a God to the people of Andhra. There is nothing new to say when it comes to legendary NTR as his life is an open book to every person who was born in united Andhra Pradesh(Andhra and Telangana). Showcasing such a legendary person’s life in the form of a film is highly risky. But Krish has impressed the audience to the core with his extraordinary taking. NTR is one person who has not only changed the dynamics of Telugu cinema but also the politics. This will be showcased in the second part of the biopic. The entire credit goes to Krish and Sai Madhav Burra apart from Balakrishna for penning down such an engaging script. The actual twists and turns of NTR’s life begin with his political career. Have to wait for a few more weeks to witness the actual drama of the biopic

Verdict:

NTR is the pride of all the Telugu people. He is the one who has fought for the self-respect of each and every individual of Telugu region.Under the dominance of Madrasi, NTR has given the light to the people of Andhra and only because of him the Telugu people have got the recognition. The Telugubullet.com wishes every Telugu person to watch this film.

Brief Introduction:

Subramaniapuram Movie Review & Rating – Telugu Bullet

Sumanth who has come into form with Malli Raava after a long time is going to enthral the audience with a thriller film Subramaniapuram. This is his 25th film in his career and the theatrical trailer has garnered decent expectations on the film. Though many people thought this film as a sequel to Nikhil’s superhit film Karthikeya the makers are pretty confident that they would enthral the audience with its engaging content. Eesha Rebba plays the love interest of Sumanth and Santosh Jagarlapudi is making his debut in Tollywood with this film. So let’s check out what’s the film is all about.

What is the story all about?

Subramaniapuram Movie Review & Rating – Telugu BulletSumanth plays the role of Karthik who is an atheist. His professional work is to do a research on ancient temples. Karthik falls in love with Priya who belongs to the village Subramanipauram where the people are traumatized by the series of suicides. There is also a speculation that the people who are died by committing the suicides have seen a peacock before their death. By this people believe strongly that its God’s wrath for their wrong deeds.

Subramaniapuram Movie Review & Rating – Telugu Bullet

Karthik who doesn’t believe in God makes a challenge with people in the village that he will catch the person in 10 days who is responsible for the series of deaths in the village. What are the consequences Karthik has faced after that and is there any external force behind it? What is the root cause of those suicides and what did Karthik come to know at last is the main crux of the film which you have to see on big screen.

Artist’s Performances:

Subramaniapuram Movie Review & Rating – Telugu Bullet

Sumanth in the role of Karthik is decent and he doesn’t have much to bring out his performance in such a thriller script. Eesha Rebba as a village girl is ok as her role is quite confined. Suresh role as Priya(Eesha’s) dad is pretty good. Rest of the characters have done their part as there is no much significance.

Pros:

* The story plot is quite good and interesting

* BGM and RR is like an oxygen to the film

Cons:

* Narration of the film

* Lack of engaging elements

* Poor production values

* The thrill element is completely missing in this film.

* No change in the pattern of suicides till the end tests the patience of the audience

Analysis:

Subramaniapuram Movie Review & Rating – Telugu BulletThough this film has garnered interest initially, the director has failed to narrate the story in a much engaging and a thrilling way. For a film like this, the suspense factor plays a crucial role where the director has completely missed it. The main crux of the film is hardly thirty minutes and rest of the film follows the same pattern of suicides with lackluster narration and screenplay. Even the way the lead hero investigates the mystery behind the suicides test the patience of the audience. The film Karthikeya has been successful because of the gripping narration and suspense elements. We can easily understand that the climax has the reference of Karthikeya movie.

Verdict: Karthik-Subramaniapuram failed to create the magic of Karthikeya

Synopsis:

Director Ayodhya Kumar

After watching the movie, each and every audience get surprised to know that this director is the one delivered the national acclaimed movie Minugurulu. Of course, many of audience is not watched Minugurulu movie but it has received positive reviews from the critics. So, director Ayodhya Kumar eyed on a commercial success and followed the current trend of bold movies.

24 Kisses movie review

Now, he is back with a romantic entertainer titled 24 kisses. The trailer and making video are created a great impact on the audience and it is the reason behind the houseful boards in the morning show. The theme of the movie itself is a confusing one and the director has created all the characters full of confusion. He has chosen a bold content to showcase the hot kisses between the lead pair and he added a social cause in it which is a mismatch to the plot.

24 Kisses Movie

The hero character, heroine character and even other characters are also clueless. The logic in the movie are also pointless and seems like ridiculous things. Adith Arun has given the best performance but his role is misfired with the confusion added by the director. Hebah Patel is sensuous and impresses the young audience with her hot chemistry with the co-star. Rao Ramesh added his touch to the Mental Doctor character and his dialogues are witty. Naresh did his best.

Rao Ramesh

The music by Assam music director Joi Barua is different. Few songs are really good. The cinematography is also clean and neat. But, the main drawback of the movie is the narration of the director and he failed to narrate an interesting story to the audience and unnecessarily added mismatched plot to the main plot. Finally, the 24 kisses are tasteless and don’t entertain the audience completely.
