With the humongous success of Baahubali movie, the Indian film industry realized that there is a great market for mythological films. Hence, three large productions houses came forward for producing the film ‘Ramayanam’. Star producers Allu Aravind, Namith Malhotra, and Madhu Mantena announced last year that they would produce the ‘Ramayanam’ movie jointly. The script work for the film is still underway. For people who are eagerly waiting for the update on the movie, here is a good news.

During the recent Investors conference conducted in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, the topic of ‘Ramayanam’ movie came on to the picture. The UP Govt. has officially made a MoU with the film’s production unit in this context. What’s more surprising is that the UP Govt. will also take part in the joint production of the movie.

Close sources confirmed that the Up Government will be giving many rebates and

special permissions for the film. With everything looking positive, the film circles are expecting that the film’s shooting is likely to commence from this year ending.The film will be made in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam and Hindi languages.

Playback singer and music director Papon (Angaraag ‘Papon’ Mahanta) was caught kissing a reality show contestant on Facebook live telecast. The singer who took part in Holi Celebrations with the contestants of a music reality show was charged for this inappropriate behaviour. What’s more shocking is that Papon is the judge of the reality show. 

The special ‘Holi’ episode was shot for the telecast on the day of Holi. Papon sang the song ‘Rang Barse’, after which he went close to the minor girl, applied colour to her face, and kissed her lips.

The whole episode was caught on Facebook Live stream. The video instantly became viral, and Papon saw the wrath of netizens. Supreme Court lawyer Runa Bhuyan filed a case against the singer, and said the singer has ‘committed sexual assault’.

Adding to the surprise, the minor girl’s father, however, requested the media, not to pursue this matter any further. He called Papon as a father figure and credited him with the success of his daughter. ‘What you saw in the video was not intentionally. It was just a moment of affection’, the father of the contestant said.

Papon is one of the judges on the music reality show ‘Voice India Kids’. The 3-member judges-panel includes Papon, Himmesh Reshammiya, and Shaan.

Hero Srikanth who started his film career playing villain roles and character roles soon turned into a star with the film ‘Taj Mahal’. With films like Thaali, Pelli Sandadi, President Gari Pellam, and Khadgam, he became a household name. He is mainly known for his family drama movie. This time he comes up with the horror-comedy film ‘Ra Ra’.

Story:

Raj Kiran is an upcoming director. His last two films have bombed at the box office. His father, who is a great director dies, and his mother falls sick. The doctor asks Raj Kiran to come up with a successful film, as his success would help revive his mother. In this context, he chooses an old bungalow to pendown a horror film script. Surprisingly, he falls in love with a ghost, which has been residing in the bungalow. Did he manage to escape from the ghost? What kind of circumstances he had to face in the due course? To find answers to these questions, watch the movie on the big screen.

Analysis:

One can appreciate Srikanth for coming up with a horror-comedy film. This is the first the senior actor has chosen such kind of film. It wouldn’t take long to realize that his choice has turned out to be pretty bad. The film starts with the introduction of Srikanth and his team. Though it seems decent, it soon turns out to be a bag of cheap slapstick comedy. The overdose of one-liners is surely going to give a headache to the audience. One shouldn’t expect any interval bang with this movie.

Though the concept of having a love affair with the ghost seems interesting to a point, the director (whoever it is) failed to establish it properly. The core story only begins in the second half. Few scenes are highly unconvincing and remind us of stage dramas at our young age. The only breather is the comedy track between Srikanth and Shakalaka Shankar.

The cinematography is the best as far as the technical team is concerned. The director failed to showcase what is written on the paper on the silver screen. The pale and overdose comedy in the first half is the biggest drawback in the film.

Hero Vikram had a pretty good market even in the Telugu states in the past. He further expanded his market with the film ‘Aparichithudu’. He lost his market with the mega-budget film ‘Manoharudu – I’. The versatile actor is hoping that his flick ‘Sketch’ which fared decently in Kollywood, might bring back his lost market in the Telugu states. Let’s take a look whether he is successful or not!

Story:

A gang of four works in a garage. Jeeva (Vikram) leads the group. Jeeva is nicknamed ‘sketch’ for his novel ideas. These four work under a Vehicle Finance dealer as recovery agents. The moment he sees the heroine, he falls in love with her. Jeeva ensures that even falls for him. At this juncture, the villain plans to take his vengeance over the group over an issue with a Vintage Car. Similarly, the gang falls into the eyes of a police officer who jumps into the scene to hunt the villain.

Slowly, each one of his friends from the gang starts disappearing. Who is behind this? What happened to Jeeva’s friends? What is the end?

Analysis:

All and out, this is purely a mass masala entertainer. The only fresh breather is the ‘message’ the film tries to convey. The twists before the interval and the climax, and Vikram’s performance are the saviours for the movie. The love track and the characterization of the heroine offer absolutely nothing new. It is shocking to see that the director limited Tamannah to the songs.

Surprisingly, the songs actually disturb the mood of the film, thanks to the screenplay. The action episodes, Vikram’s character, and twists help the movie to look better to inferior. Thaman continues his good form both with the BGM and the songs. Apart from the aforementioned, there is hardly anything one can see on the silver screen.

Star Choreographer Raju Sundaram is moving pawns for his second directorial venture in his career. This time, he is eyeing on big star like Prabhas for an action entertainer.

Raju Sundaram being a son of senior most composer Sundaram Master and brother of Indian Michael Jackson Prabhu Deva created his own space in Southern Indian Cinema. After becoming one of the leading Choreographers, he tried his luck as a director starring Ajith in Tamil for which the movie bagged mixed talk. Now a decade has been completed since his first project and now he is keen on directing his second. Impressed with Prabhas in Baahubali series, he has written an action comedy entertainer keeping Rebel star in mind. He has reportedly met Prabhas’s home banner UV Creations to make this project get materialized. It seems that both Prabhas and UV CReations gave the green signal for Raju Sundaram and asked him to wait until 2019’s Summer for call sheets. Its obviously a good piece of news for Prabhas’s fans but some wonder how Prabhas complete all his signed projects in time. Already he is doing Saaho and it would take another half year to complete. Other than this, he has okayed a project under Jil fame Radha Krishna.

The death of actor Gundu Hanumantha Rao has left everyone in the Telugu film industry in deep sorrow. The actor has been suffering from a long-term kidney ailment, and he has been on dialysis for a very long time. He breathed his last on 19th February, at around 3:30 am in the morning. At the time of his death, he is only survived by his son, Aditya.

Many film actors came to pay their homage to Gundu Hanumantha Rao. But star comedian Brahmanandam’s words touched everyone’s heart. It is heard that star Brahmanandam has come forward to adopt Aditya. ‘Brahmanandam Garu told that he will take care of Aditya’s education which took a break. He will ensure that Aditya gets settled in life, by getting into a profession and marrying. Until Aditya has a family of his own, Brahmanandam Garu would be with him,’ quoted a close source to Gundu Hanumantha Rao family.
