The Nani starrer ‘MCA – Middle Class Abbayi’ released yesterday (21st December) amid high expectations. The film is directed by Sriram Venu, who previously directed ‘Oh My Friend’. Sai Pallavi acted opposite Nani in the film. Dil Raju produced the film on his SVCC (Sri Venkateswara Cine Creations) banner.

Dil Raju was highly confident that the film would mark double hat-trick for him this year. His previous 5 films of the year went on to become super hits at the box-office. It is an open secret that the film failed to reach the expectation of Dil Raju and audience. The film received negative reviews and bad talk on various social media websites.

The on-ground scenario looks better for Dil Raju and MCA team. The audience expressed that the film isn’t as bad as it is being projected. ‘The film can stand somewhere between average and above average,’ said a moviegoer.

Many expressed that the film is just on par with any other Nani film’s and people who have gone to MCA with expectations of a Ram Charan or Pawan Kalyan movie, are ought to be disappointed. Industry experts felt that ‘the media has created unwanted and excessive hype around the film. This lead to high expectations among the movie goers. If we can watch the film without any expectations, it’s a decent film.’

Victory Venkatesh Role in Agnathavasi

Daggubati ‘Victory’ Venkatesh and Power Star Pawan Kalyan have previously worked together in the film ‘Gopala Gopala’ in the past. The film received critical praise for the star hero’s chemistry. Post that film, a strong bond developed between Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan. Given the closeness and comfort, Pawan Kalyan has recommended Venkatesh for a key role in ‘Agnathavasi’ film.

Venkatesh completed his shoot in two days for his part. The film’s production unit clarified that there would be no scenes featuring Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh in the movie. Venkatesh will be seen in a couple of scenes along with the film’s main cast, excluding Pawan Kalyan.

The post-production work of the film is currently underway. With Venkatesh playing a guest role in the film, there are high expectations from the Daggubati fans on their hero’s role. Director Trivikram is leaving no stone unturned to make the movie a grand success.

Akhil’s latest film ‘Hello’ has generated hype before its release. With Megastar Chiranjeevi lauding the film for its emotional touch and brilliant performance of Akhil in the film, the expectations on the film increased. Even Nagarjuna stated that ‘Hello’ will stand out as a grand re-launch for Akhil. Vikram, who directed super hit films like Manam and 24 directed this film. Let us take a look whether the audience clearly heard ‘Hello’ from Akhil’s ‘Hello’.

Story:

The story is pretty straightforward and simple. Akhil lives as an orphan during his childhood. He meets a girl from a rich family [during his childhood]. They both get separated with time. Later, Akhil is adopted by a very loving and caring couple. After few years, Akhil and that girl (Kalyani Priyadarshan) meet. But are unaware that they are childhood friends. Akhil tries calling a phone number which acts as a bridge between the two. The rest of the story is whether Akhil will meet her? Will they reunite?

Analysis:

After hearing the title, and looking at the teaser, everyone thought ‘Hello’ would be a film far away from Tollywood stereotypes. The moment you start watching the film, it feels like a blend of the old and new movie. You are bound to recollect movies like Mansantha Nuvve, Thuneega Thuneega as you watch Hello. It’s pretty difficult for this generation audience to connect with this kind of film. The director’s intention to include commercial elements in a feel-good movie comes as a surprise.

Though few scenes in which hero and heroine become desperate for their soulmate seem appealing, the point that separates them doesn’t seem convincing. This greatly diminished any scope for ‘drama’ in the film whatsoever. The film doesn’t consist of any ‘flashback’ scenes. The voice over the effort of Nagarjuna fails to engage the audience.

No doubt, the director might have felt the weights on his shoulders. This can be clearly seen both in the direction and screenplay department. It feels as if the director has been forced to include some sequences in the film.

Talking about Akhil, he performed exceptionally well in the high-octane action sequences. Again, one might feel the lack of necessity of such actions sequences for a feel-good movie. Akhil needs to work on emotional scenes as an actor. Heroine, Kalyani Priyadarshan failed to mesmerize the audience with her charm or beauty. The only thing you remember as you walk out the theatre is Ramya Krishna and Jagapathi Babu who played the role of parents for Akhil.

It is well-known that there were many allegations of producer C Kalyan who is currently producing Balakrishna’s film ‘Jayasimha’ on CK Entertainments banner. Recently, a newspaper has published an article stating that the producer C Kalyan is eyeing to encroach an 80-acre land belonging to the Telangana State Government. It is known that the Telangana Government has a 500-acre land close to Hi-Tech City.

It is reported that C Kalyan installed name boards claiming that 80-acres of the reported land belongs to him. The newspaper apparently stated that the Land and Revenue officials were least bothered though they are aware of C Kalyan’s encroachment.

The Revenue depart is still yet to respond regarding this issue. It is learnt that Revenue officials received directions from the Government authorities to inspect the disputed claims as per the article in the newspaper. Meanwhile, few others in the government and film industry are asking the officials to file a ‘Suo Muto’ case on C Kalyan. The market value of the 80-acre land which C Kalyan is said to have occupied is around Rs. 2,500 crores, given its prime location and closeness to the IT Hub.  It is upto the officials to come out with a proper report on this issue.

The song ‘Kaatamarayuda… Kadiri Narasimhuda’ sung by Pawan Kalyan in that movie not only became famous but also generated hype and attention around the movie. On the same lines, one more song has been sung by Pawan Kalyan in his upcoming movie ‘Agnathavasi’, in the direction of Trivikram Srinivas. This turns out to be a sentiment, given its success in Attarintiki Daredi. It is also learnt that the director believes the song will add extra emotion to the high octane action-drama movie.

The film’s audio launch recently took place in a grand manner at the HICC, Hyderabad. Agnathavasi is slated to release on January 10th, 2017. Keerthi Suresh and Anu Emmanuel are the heroines in the movie. Yesteryear actress Kushboo is playing a key role in the film.

Bollywood super hit film ‘Queen’ is being remade in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam simultaneously. The lead actress would be different in each and every language. Tamanna in Telugu, Kajal in Tamil, Manjima Mohan in Malayalam and Parul Yadav in Kannada would be acting. Thyagarajan himself has produced the movie in all of four languages.

The film unit recently shot few key scenes in France with 4 different actresses in 4 different languages. Given the scenario, the producer has realized that the budget of the movie would be 3 times than what was initially planned. Currently, Thyagarajan is scouting for financiers to keep the film going.

It is also learnt that the producer is making some key changes to control the budget of the movie in the upcoming second and third shooting schedules. Meanwhile, people close to the producer and Tamil film industry are casting clouds on the completion of the film itself.

Currently, the film has been stalled unofficially. An official statement is yet to be heard from the film’s production unit.

Mega fans, Power star fans and the whole Tollywood are eagerly waiting for Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s movie ‘Agnathavasi’. The expectations on the film skyrocketed after all the singles from the audio became a chartbuster. The audio launch event also witnessed tremendous turnout and trends in social media. After Trivikram Srinivas spoke about the film on the night of the audio launch, it was clear that the film will surely meet its expectations.

Many fans and trade analysts expected that ‘Agnathavasi’ team will also be launching trailer during the audio launch event. The latest buzz is that the ‘Agnathavasi’ production unit has confirmed the date of the Trailer release.

The makers initially wanted to release the trailer on the eve of New Year. But realizing that it would be too close to the film’s release date [10th of January], the makers have preponed the date. Close and reliable sources to the production unit stated that the film’s trailer would be released on the eve of Christmas, 25th of December.

Depending on the response the trailer receives, the promotional activities of the film are likely to be planned. An official announcement on the same is likely to be made in the next couple of days.

During the audio launch event of MCA and other film events, Dil Raju confidently said that MCA – Middle Class Abbayi movie would be giving him double hat-trick (6 in a row), after his previous 5 films in this year went on to become super hits at the box office. Even Nagarjuna also requested Dil Raju to release his film a bit later, leaving scope for Akhil’s ‘Hello’. But Dil Raju said that he will not be postponing his film’s release. The producer has announced that the film will release for Christmas during the announcement of the film itself.

With the result of Dil Raju, it seemed as he was over-confident about the movie. Many trade experts feel that Dil Raju’s overconfidence on the director did cost the movie dearly. ‘It is clear that Dil Raju did not concentrate on the film. Maybe he thinks every film from his banner would become a super hit. That’s not the way the industry is currently going,’ said a film critic.

The story of the movie seemed pretty routine and pale. The director has miserably failed in direction and script work. The film turned out to be an average and routine movie. MCA turned out to be an asset back to ‘Natural Star’ Nani who has taken the box office by storm with back-to-back hits.

Forget about the film being a double hat-trick for Dil Raju, trade analysts are worrying whether the film would recover its investment in the first place or not.
