With the Academy Awards almost here, actor NTR Jr has landed in Los Angeles to attend the Oscars where the epic period action drama RRR’s Naatu Naatu is nominated in the ‘Best Original Song’ category after a smashing win at the Golden Globes.

While the actor’s loyal fandom is all excited to see their idol walk the red carpet at the Oscars, the global icon in a recent interview with KTLA, an LA-based news channel, explained how it will not just be him walking the red carpet but the entire country.

“I don’t think it’s going to be NTR Jr or Komaram Bheem who is going to walk the red carpet. It’s going to be India who will be walking the red carpet. We are going to carry the whole nation in our hearts as we walk the red carpet, I am looking forward to that!” said NTR Jr.

In the interview, the actor also mentioned how he is looking forward to watching music composer M.M. Keeravani and singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava perform the song on the Oscar stage.

Back home in India after the success of RRR, NTR Jr will soon begin working on his next NTR 30 with director Koratala Siva along with Janhvi Kapoor which will release on the big screens on 5th April 2024.

IIFA Technical Awards: ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ top winners

The International Indian Film Academy and Awards (IIFA) has announced its technical winners for 2022. There is a total of nine categories of technical awards which include cinematography, screenplay, dialogue, choreography, sound design, editing, special effects (visuals), background score, and sound design.

Of these, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ leads the pack as it bagged 3 awards – Best Cinematography was won by DOP Sudeep Chatterjee, Best Screenplay went to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Utkarshini Vashishtha, and Best Dialogues was conferred upon Utkarshini Vashishtha and Prakash Kapadia.

The Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-starrer horror comedy, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ won Best Choreography for the title track by choreographer duo, Bosco-Caesar, and Best Sound Design by Mandar Kulkarni.

Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn’s crime thriller ‘Drishyam 2’ won the award for Best Editing by Sandeep Francis. Similarly, the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer action adventure, ‘Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva’ took home the trophy for another post-production work – Best Special Effects (Visual) by DNEG, Redefine.

While Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Vikram Vedha’ was awarded the Best Background Score designed by Sam CS, the Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Radhika Apte-starrer streaming film ‘Monica O My Darling’ bagged the Best Sound Mixing (Gunjan A. Sah, Boloy Kumar Doloi and Rahul Karpe).

The 23rd edition of IIFA is set to be held at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi from May 26 through May 27. IIFA Rocks will be hosted by Karan Johar and Farah Khan with live performances by Amit Trivedi, Badshah, Sunidhi Chauhan, Nucleya, Mika Singh, and Sukhbir.

The global IIFA Awards will be hosted by Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan. The IIFA magic will escalate with live performances by Bollywood A-listers like Salman Khan, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Rakul Preet Singh, and Nora Fatehi.

Actress Ayesha Kanga, who is currently basking in the success of her recently released streaming show ‘Class’, is thrilled with the announcement of the show’s season 2.

The actress, a design professional and an alumnus of the National Institute of Design (NID), would have worked throughout her life as a graphic designer but the future had other plans for her as she got fired from her job and started looking out for modeling opportunities, given her proximity to the fashion world.

Walking down memory lane, she said, “I have always wanted to be an artist, getting into NID was my biggest goal and after I got in, I studied graphic design, and I thought I would do that my entire life. Then one day I got fired from my job and I happened to look elsewhere which is when modeling came by. I have always been interested in fashion, I would follow fashion brands and Indian models very closely from a young age. I even noticed a tilt in Indian campaigns as to how brown women were considered a lot more than just white faces”.

She further mentioned, “We stopped using quintessential faces in high-end fashion campaigns and I was interested in being a part of that. I would, in fact, creatively direct campaigns, style my own shoots, and loved doing my own hair and makeup- all because I enjoyed image making and wanted to be a part of these creative processes. It was a fulfilling journey..

‘Class’ is an adaptation of the Spanish series ‘Elite’ created by Carlos Montero and Dario Madrona.

Lauding the director of ‘Class’ – Ashim Ahluwalia, the actress said, “Ashim is an evil genius, he has such a profound understanding of what he wants things to look and feel like. Everyone has to surrender to his vision and they don’t even mind because it’s stunning”.

“There is always a conflict between art and commerce but his work is such a good indication that art will always persevere. Working with him was great, he really knows how to get performance out of newcomers. The show exists because he did, we exist on the show because of him. I respect him immensely and it would be a dream to work with him again in any capacity”, she concluded.

Italian actress Giorgia Andriani, who made her Bollywood debut with Shreyas Talpade’s ‘Welcome To Bajrangpur’, said that she is quite close to the culture and traditions of India and that she is attached to Mumbai after staying in in the city for six years.

Giorgia spoke about her Holi celebration plans and her affinity with the heritage of India.

She said: “I have been in Mumbai for the past six years now, and I am particularly attached to the city, it’s just the feeling. It’s true. Mumbai sucks you in and does not allow you to go anywhere else. I love the festivities and the culture here and now I call it my home.”

Giorgia continued: “Last year, I played holi for the first time and I loved it. There’s something about this festival, the smell of freshly cooked nankeens, pichkaris, and colors! It’s like a party in the city! Everywhere you go, people are enjoying themselves, having fun.”

The actress further added: “Since I have been here so long, surrounded by this amazing culture, people, and food, I was bound to feel a sense of belonging to this place. I am learning Marathi now, or at least trying as its grammar is really complex.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has come in support of Nawazuddin Siddiqui after he broke his silence and released a statement regarding the allegations being made against him by his estranged wife Aaliya.

Kangana said that it was much-needed for Nawazuddin to speak for himself because silence is not a solution to all problems.

Kangana took to her Instagram Stories and shared: “Was much-needed @nawazuddin._siddiqui saab…silence does not always give us peace…I am glad you issued this statement (folding hands emoji).”

She also shared the screenshot of the statement issued by Nawazuddin, who recently reacted to the allegations made against him by Aaliya Siddiqui.

Aaliya accused Nawazuddin of using his power to take custody of her kids and allegedly raping her. She also shared a video from outside her bungalow stating that she is not allowed to enter his house and left with her kids on the road at midnight.

He wrote in his statement: “I am termed as a bad guy everywhere because of my silence. The reason I have kept quiet is that all this tamasha will somewhere be read by my small children. Social Media Platforms, the Press & A bunch of people are really enjoying my character assassination on the basis of one-sided & manipulated videos. There are a few points, I would like to express – First of all me and Aaliya do not stay together for several years, we are already divorced but we definitely had an understanding only for our kids. Does anyone know, why my kids are in India and not attending school for 45 days, wherein the school is sending me letters every day that it’s been too long an absence?

“My kids have been made hostage for the past 45 days & are missing their schooling in Dubai.”

He also further asserted that Aaliya has been paid approximately Rs 10 lakh per month for the past two years and 5-7 lakhs per month before moving to Dubai with his children, excluding the school fees, medical, travel, and other leisure activities.

‘Citadel’ trailer has Priyanka Chopra pulling off heavy-duty action

The trailer of the spy-thriller series ‘Citadel’, which was released recently, sees actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas engaging in some heavy-duty action as she plays a spy along with Richard Madden. The trailer, which is a little over two minutes in length, starts off with fast cuts of montages. With generous dutch tilt shots, even the credits, it has Priyanka pulling off action sequences, gun fights, and chase sequences.

The show, which is the global umbrella series for other national counterparts, tells the story of the eponymous independent global spy agency which gets destroyed by operatives of Manticore as the former was tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people. Manticore is a powerful syndicate.

With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (played by Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They continue to be hidden from the world, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. One night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (played by Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order.

Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.

The first season of the global series consists of six episodes with two episodes premiering on April 28 on Prime Video and one episode rolling out weekly through May 26. The series is executive produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and showrunner David Weil, and stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, with Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville. aCitadel’ will premiere in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Janhvi Kapoor shares Telugu debut ‘NTR 30’ first look on her birthday

Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor treated her fans with her first look from her upcoming film tentatively titled ‘NTR 30’ on her birthday on Monday. The actress took to her Instagram to share the first look at her character.

In the picture, Janhvi can be seen wearing a saree and sitting against the backdrop of mountains securing a river. Going by the look of the poster, the film seems to be quite dark in its treatment. She will be working opposite Jr. NTR in the film.

The actress wrote in the caption: “It is finally happening. Can’t wait to set sail with my favorite @jrntr #NTR30.”

The film, which marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi, is touted to be an action-packed entertainer and will be directed by Koratala Siva, who is known for directing films such as ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ and ‘Okkadunnadu’.

The music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander and it will be a pan-India release. The film is set to be released on April 5, 2024, and will be available in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

The film will be Jr. NTR’s 30th film. The actor is currently gearing up for the Oscars as his film ‘RRR’ continues to be a global rage.

Amitabh Bachchan injured during film shoot in Hyderabad

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan was injured during the shooting of his upcoming film, ‘Project K’, in Hyderabad.

The actor shared his health update on his blog. After consulting a doctor and CT scan at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad, he left for Mumbai, where he is taking rest at his home.

The 80-year-old suffered a muscle tear to his right rib cage during an action sequence of the film. He wrote that after the incident the film shoot was postponed.

“In Hyderabad at the shoot for Project K, during an action shot, I got injured .. rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage .. canceled the shoot .. did a Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home .. strapping has been done and rests been advocated .. yes painful .. on movement and breathing .. will take some weeks they say before some normalization will occur .. some medication is on also for pain ..,” Amitabh wrote.

“So all work that was to be done has been suspended and canceled dropped postponed for the moment until healing occurs. I rest at Jalsa and am mobile a bit for all the essential activities .. but yes in rest and generally lying around,” he wrote.

“It shall be difficult or let me say. I shall be unable to meet, the well-wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening .. so do not come .. and do inform as much as you can to those that intend to come. All else is well..,” he added.

It was immediately not clear when Amitabh was injured.

‘Project K’ is a science fiction film written and directed by Aswhini Dutt. Being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, it features Amitabh, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani.
