The whole state of Andhra Pradesh was shocked after Kidney racket scam came to light in Narasaraopeta. Shockingly, the latest developments in the city are sending shivers among the government authorities involved in the reported scam.

The city has become a haven for various scams and fraudulent actives in the recent past. After the Kidney racket was exposed, it is the turn of Aadhaar Card now. After the row over a Kidney-transfer became public, the authorities have carried out a deep investigation into the incident.

This surprisingly lead to another fraudulent case of ‘Aadhaar Card’ tampering. The police officials came to know about rampant tampering of Aadhaar Cards issued by the Central government. ‘Three kidney transfers have already been completed using tampered Aadhaar cards.

A person named Mudavath Venkateswara has come forward to donate his kidney to a patient named Siva Nageswara Rao. In this context, Mudavath Venkateswara managed to tamper Ravuri Chowdary (relative to the patient) on his Aadhaar Card. Post that, with the fake Aadhaar Card and other documents, they have handed over their application to Narasaraopeta Tehsildar Office. It was during the verification that the officials found out about the tampering of Aadhaar Card.

Usually, the anyone can donate his/her kidney without many formalities, if they can prove that they are related to the patient. The people involved in kidney-racket started tampering Aadhaar card, in order establish a relationship between the donor and patient. The officials are carrying further investigation into the matter.

After Kulbhushan Jadav was given a death sentence by a special army court in Pakistan, the Indian government took the case to the ICJ, International Court of Justice. The Indian Govt. argued that Kulbhushan Jadhav, a retired Naval officer, was kidnapped from Iran and was handed over to the ISI (Inter-Services00000026 Intelligence).

But Pakistan claimed that Kulbhushan was a RAW (Research and Analysis) agent, who was caught in Pakistan. It further alleged that Kulbhushan is involved in an undercover operation in Pakistan.

Supporting the Indian Govt. stance, a community leader from Baluchistan (in Pakistan) also said that Kulbhushan was indeed kidnapped from Iran. Further strengthening its claims, the Indian government managed to identify the person as Mulla Omar Irani who has kidnapped Kulbhushan from Iran.

Mulla Omar Irani belongs to the Jaish ul-Adl terrorist organization, that has close ties with the Pak army. The terrorist group operates along the Pak-Iran borders. The terrorist organization was responsible in killing 10 members of the Iran Security forces on 26th April 2017. Later, the Iran army identified the mastermind behind the attack and killed him by intruding into Pakistan.

Shockingly, the honour killings are not common in our neighbouring country Pakistan. UN estimates that more than 700 people lose their life because of honour killing annually in Pakistan. One such incident traumatized the humanity.

A marriage proposal was on the cards between Nazreem, from Nahi Vahi village in Pakistan and her relative Shahid, who is also from the same village. Both the families have agreed to the marriage, and marriage was hardly a few days away.

During this time, Nazreem and Shahid met each other and were having a conversation on a secluded place on the outskirts of the village. Nazreem’s maternal uncle who saw the couple raged with anger and shot them with the rifle. The couple lost their lives, and the man was arrested.

During the interrogation, the man confessed that he killed them because it was against their practices and termed it as an honour killing. In another incident, a brother killed his sister, because she married someone else against their family’s wish.

WhatsApp has been popular for two reasons; one for being the most convenient messaging app, and the other for being a source of rumours and false news. The messaging app has come under scrutiny several times after its creators failed to come up with a mechanism that can detect and stop the spreading of false news among the app users.

Recently, a WhatsApp message read ‘Get Aadhaar Card details of any person for Rs. 500’ became viral. Shockingly, some of the users reportedly paid to the advertiser to get other’s personal details.

To prove that it is nothing but a hoax, journalists from ‘The Tribune’ newspaper approached the advertiser of the message. The respective advertiser sent the journalists Login IDs, Passwords and a web page link where these needed to be entered. On paying Rs. 300, the advertiser also transferred ‘Aadhaar Card’ printing software.

Post this, ‘The Tribune; journalists approached the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) officials. The concerned officials stated that the leakage of Aadhaar Data will be a ‘national security breach’. The officials also confirmed that, except for the UIDAI Director, and an official data entry operator in Chandigarh, Punjab, no one else can log in.

The message claiming to release Aadhaar details for Rs. 500 is clearly a scam laid to trap innocent people, who run after other’s personal details.

The central government has cancelled recognition of Akkineni Foundation’ due to non-submission of Income Tax returns. Few other NGO’s are also on the line that has been axed.

Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister informed Rajya Sabha that the government cancelled recognition of 190 organizations in Telangana and 450 in Andhra Pradesh states for negligence in filing IT returns which included Akkineni International Foundation.

Even though Akkineni Foundation took a lot of social activities including organizing health camps in rural areas and even presented ‘Akkineni National Awards’. In spite of getting funds from foreign countries, they did not bother to file returns for the previous financial year. The government also notified the NGO’s earlier too to file returns which get funds from foreign countries. It stated clearly that they should submit annual income information and in case if they fail to provide the same, it cancelled the recognition, the Union Minister addressed Rajya Sabha.

We have to wait and see what ‘Akkineni Foundation’ response will on this issue.

The war of words between the two nations began after Trump tweeted that US aid of $33 billion to Pakistan was in vain. “The US has thoughtlessly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they in return they gave us lies and deceit. They thought our leaders are fools. They have given shelter to terrorists whom we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!” Trump tweeted.

Trump administration is considering a proposal that can lead to a large scale deportation of foreigners mainly Indians who are waiting for their green card. An estimated 7, 50,000 Indian H-1B visa holder could be deported back if Trump’s proposal goes through.

The proposal was spread in the form of an internal memo in the Department of Homeland Security which supervises citizenship and immigration proposes to end the provision of granting extensions to H-1B visa holders. The applications for permanent residency has been accepted.

Roughly, 7.5lakh H-1B Indian visa holders are fearing the possibility of getting deported to India. Planning for a major crisis that is impending, Immigration Voice an advocacy body in San Jose is planning to challenge this move through an outreach and also sue when the decision is announced.

According to McClatchy, DC Bureau, the proposal initially said, that the plan was to create a king of ‘self-deportation’ of thousands of Indian tech workers in the United States to open up those jobs for Americans. H-1B visa is granted for three years. It has a provision of another three years after that there can be one or many extensions, provided the Green card application is accepted and under pending. Otherwise, the person has to return to his or her country.

Indian Government announces new ‘Savings Bonds’

The Indian Government has made an official announcement about introducing a 7.75 percent savings bonds to allow resident citizens and Hindu Undivided Families (HUF). This will allow them to invest in taxable bonds, without any monetary ceiling. However, NRI’s are not eligible for making any such investments in these bonds. These bonds have provision to open individually (including Joint Holdings) and Hindu Undivided Families (HUF’s) for investment.

The bonds will be issued at par i.e. at Rs.100. They will be issued for a minimum amount of Rs.1, 000/- (face value) and in multiples thereof. In accordance to this, the issue price will be Rs.1, 000/- for every Rs.1, 000/-(Nominal).  These bonds will be issued only in demat form (Bond Ledger Account) only.

The maturity period for bonds is seven years carrying an interest of 7.75 percent per annum payable every six Months. The cumulative value of Rs.1, 000/- at the end of seven years will be Rs.1, 703/-

The Department of Economic Affairs, Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg, tweeted, “7.75 percent Savings Bonds Scheme notified would replace, 8 percent scheme. This will come into effect from January 10th. This sequenced notifications and gap of a week were necessary to avoid any overlap in cheques realizations, the secretary was quoted as saying.

The London-Mumbai Jet Airways flight 9W119 (January 1st) touched down safely in Mumbai Chatrapathi Shivaji International Airport. There were 324 passengers, 14 crew members in the flight. Everything seemed normal for those travelling in the aircraft.

But shockingly, the pilot got suspended after an incident has been reported to the Aviation regulator DGCA. The woman co-pilot complained to the authorities that the chief pilot in the flight slapped her during the flight. The incident took place when the aircraft is reportedly flying over the Iran-Pakistan airspace, with 2:45 hours away from its destination, Mumbai.

Reacting on the same, the Jet Airways spokesperson acknowledged the reported incident and stated that it has been amicably and quickly solved. ‘They both [the reported pilots] have been working together for over a decade. They had arguments in the past too. This time the arguments went overboard, and the pilot slapped his co-pilot (woman) in a fit of anger.

She came out of the cockpit crying. The cabin crew persuaded her to get back to the cocking, but she refused. Later, the Captain came out of the cockpit (a violation of flight safety norms) and persuaded her [the co-pilot] to return back. The DGCA is currently investigating the incident,’ said the spokesperson.

Govt Spends 400 Crores to Make Hindi Official Language at the UN!

Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs stated that the Indian Government is ready to spend Rs.400 crores to make Hindi as the official language. During the parliamentary sessions, Sushma Swaraj briefed the Lok Sabha about the Indian Government’s efforts in making Hindi as an official language at the United Nations.

We require the backing of 129 nations (out of 193) to make Hindi as an official language at the UN. The cost for this program should be borne by all the member nations, which can be a financial burden on small nations. The Govt. is even ready to spend [answering to a BJP’s MP claim that India should spend Rs.40 crores] Rs.400 crores for the same, but the UN’s rules don’t allow, said Sushma Swaraj.

In between, Shashi Tharoor questioned to why India is trying to make Hindi as an official language in the UN, citing that, Hindi is not the only official language in India.

Sushma Swaraj replied stating that, Hindi is also the official language of Fiji, and is even widely spoken in the Caribbean islands and other island-nations in the Indian ocean.

In the past, PM Modi addressed the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in Hindi in September 2014, and former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee also addressed the UNGA in Hindi in 1977 in his historical speech.

Face Recognition Software Helps Nab Criminals

Hyderabad city Police came up with a software that can nab criminals on the city roads. The software has a special feature to contain data of about 1 lakh criminals across the nation.

In Hyderabad city alone, they have installed nine high definition cameras which are connected to Facial Recognition Analytics unit at the Commissioner’s office at Basheerbagh. The cameras can capture an image and a beep sound will alarm the officials. But the suspect has to pass the camera. IT cell in-charge, K.Sreenkanth Reddy, said, after a brief analysis, they will inform the local police to check the person. The person whose facial features are close to that of a criminal’s in the database may also get pulled in.

The IT cell in-charge said the local police will only be informed if the resemblance is more than 70%. The software is sophisticated enough to identify the criminals even when they grow beard and mustache or shave off their head only with some percentage variation, Mr.Reddy said.

The cameras can stream live feed round the clock, cover long distances and be titled in any direction. These cameras have the capability to automatically detect number plates of vehicles. Mr.Reddy also told that they will be uploading the number plate of vehicles used by criminals for various offenses which can be helpful.

Famous singer ‘Ghazal’ Srinivas has become the talk of the town after he was arrested. The world-record holder has been arrested on the charges of ‘sexual harassment’ by the local police in Hyderabad, after a woman employer, who is working in Alayavani Radio house of Ghazal Srinivas, filed a complained against him.

The woman also submitted some crucial evidence, both in audio and video format for the police. After examining the evidence, the police have arrested the singer at his residence two days ago.

Shockingly, the police have filed a petition requesting the Nampally court not to grant any bail for the singer. ‘Srinivas is a highly influential person in the society. He is capable of tampering the evidence. We still need to record the victim’s testimony. We are yet to investigate few other relating to the case,’ appealed the police in their petition to the court.

Few more videos relating to the heinous acts committed by ‘Ghazal’ Srinivas became public. Along with the video in which his [Srinivas] maid Parvathi and the victim are seen pressing his legs, two other videos went viral.

The victim has reportedly submitted 10 videos to the police as evidence. Few other alleged that Ghazal Srinivas has turned ‘Alayavani Radio House’ office into a brothel.
