The 2017 Gujarat Elections stood out as an example for both BJP and Congress. Despite winning the elections, BJP was seen as a failure, while Congress which lost the elections, was hailed for its moral victory over BJP. Given the ‘temple visiting’ mantra, which Rahul believes was responsible for his success in Gujarat, the new INC President is busy scouting for various temples and Hindu Missionaries where ever he goes.

Picnic Trip Landed Them In Graveyard

A Picnic trip by four engineering students of a private college at Bhogapuram in West Godavari district was found them dead in a tank near the village. According to the police, the incident happened on Saturday but only came to light on Sunday.

As per the Eluru superintendent of Police (DSP) K. Eswara Rao, the four students- K.Harikrishnam Raju, 21, of Kothavuru, G.Vijaya Sankar, 21, of Chintalapudi village, A.S.K. Parasuram, 21, of Kothuru village and Kota Sai, 19, of Patachintalapudi village, went to Goa Gardens, near Vatluru tank in Bhogapuram.

Initially, three of them stepped into the tank for a dip. They lost their footing and went down in the water and then the fourth student Kota Sai made an attempt to help them out drowned in the lake. Later the victim’s bags, clothes and identity cards were collected from the site in the garden. As per police investigations, they are suspecting the victims might have consumed liquor before going into the lake.

DSP Eswara Rao said that a man from the village who went to the tank for nature’s call on Sunday morning observed some footwear and clothes on the banks and informed the police. The police found bags containing college books, identity cards, lunch boxes, liquor bottles and few other items near the spot.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, gave a piece of advice to one and all on health. He asked everyone to exercise every day at least for an hour and keep the hospitals at bay. He also asked to ease the pressures of life and lift one’s spirits.

Chief minister Naidu, who was present at the third Amaravati Marathon in the capital on Sunday from the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium, here, said many such marathons and sports would be organized in the state since they bring health, wealth and fame to people. He was there as chief guest who flagged the program.

On Sunday morning around 7500 people took part in the 5k, 10k and Half Marathon run. The enthusiastic participants are from different age groups ranging from four years to 70 years.

Mr. Naidu mentioned that next year, this marathon would be an international event. He also appreciated Managing director and ex-officio secretary of the AP State Housing Corporation, Kantilal Dande, who also partook in the event.

Naidu reminded that he had started the Hyderabad Marathon 23 years ago, which has now become a major event.

International flights emergency landing in Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Four international flights were forced to make an emergency landing due to heavy fog on the Sunday morning at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. These four flights were flying from Saudi Arabia to Delhi, Jeddah to Lucknow, Singapore to Delhi and Dubai to Bangladesh.

These flights were forced to make an emergency landing in the northern part of India was totally covered with snow and heavy fog.

Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is covered under a blanket of fog. An official said that the airport had CAT-IIIA system which assisted the landing and taking off of the aircraft even at foggy conditions.

The airports were badly affected by these conditions, and passengers to are suffering on account of delays. These delays were caused by delayed arrivals and also inability to operate flights from the airport.

Due to flight delays, travel plans of many passengers went haywire.

Not only the airports, due to thick fog in the areas surrounding Shamshabad, like Rajendranagar, Shadnagar, on the National Highway to Bengaluru, and on the Outer Ring Road affected traffic for some time.

Lalu gets 3.5 years jail

Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav has been sentenced 3.5 years in jail and fined him 5 lakh rupees in the case relating to fodder scam. A special CBI court, which took up the case, delivered the verdict in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Saturday. There were 15 convicts that included Lalu as well, in the Rs.950 crore scandal of mid-1990 under his government. He incidentally was the chief minister of one of the most penniless states in the country.

Lalu’s counsel is trying for bail, but there is no possibility as the jail sentence is for more than three years. There are six more cases attached to the scam and Saturday’s verdict related to only one of them, which is the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs.89.27 lakh from Deoghar Treasury between 1991 and 1994 when Lalu was chief minister.

Among the convicts, seven others were also sentenced to a similar jail term and fine as Lalu. Last year on December 23rd, Lalu was convicted by the same court and has been in Birsa Munda prison since then. Earlier, RJD leaders and Lalu’s lawyers had appealed for leniency in sentencing him, quoting his poor health. Hope, more Justice prevails in all cases relating to Lalu.

New “10” Rupee Currency Notes- Take A Look!

New “10” Currency Notes Introduced, In Chocolate Brown Colour

RBI (Reserve Bank of India) is soon going to launch the new Rs.10 denomination notes into circulation. The new ten rupee currency note in the Mahatma Gandhi series will bear the signature of RBI Governor Urjit Patel and also have the picture of the Konark Sun Temple.

The new notes will give a picture of India’s cultural heritage. The base color of the note will be chocolate Brown and these notes will be in 63mm* 123mm dimension. Speculations say that apex bank has already printed up to 1 billion pieces of the new notes.

RBI said the new denomination has the motif of Sun Temple, Konark, on the reverse, showing the country’s rich cultural heritage. The design was approved by the government.

RBI is on a spree of launching the new notes under Mahatma Gandhi series. They introduced the new Rs.200 and Rs.50 under Gandhi series.The main purpose to reintroduce lower denomination notes in a new design is to get rid of forging.

Indian Man Detained In The USA On Sexual Harassment Charges!

He is living in the US, on a temporary visa, he is an Indian national name Prabhu Rama Moorthy. He was detained by Federal Authorities on charges of sexually harassing a fellow passenger who sat next to him on the plane.

The woman claimed her co-passenger who is a 34-year-old Indian, groped her while sitting next to him on a Spirit Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Detroit. At the time of the incident, his wife was also beside him. The victim is a 22 –year-old and she complained to the investigating officers that her clothes were unbuttoned and man’s hand was inside her pants when she opened her eyes.

She also said that Mr. Ramamoorthy stopped misbehaving after the victim woke up. The woman immediately reported the matter to the flight attendant and her seat was changed.Once the plane landed, Ramamoorthy was detained but he refused any kind of sexual harassment. He alleged that he had taken a pill and fell asleep and realized the girl was only sleeping on his knees after his wife informed him.
